[Chapter – 1: This is my story …]
The sun slowly rose, as it always did. I yawned and began to stretch. This was followed by my eyes opening, greeting five-year-old me with the sight of the clear blue sky overhead. I laid there for a short period as I took in slow breaths in and out. I thought about how I was born into an Ogre Clan as I listen to myself breathing. I had an amazing five years.
My parents were noble soldiers, or so I'd heard. In one night, a raid fell onto the village, and the entire village (my whole world) was burned to the ground in less than an hour. History would say that this was because many of the warriors were away to battle an oncoming Orc horde (and still would be out for another week.)
My wet-nurse tried to hide me in a dry storage area in the house, but as she did, she was knocked out by a blow to the back of her head by someone I couldn't see. All I remember is the darkness that followed as I was next to be hit.
The next thing I recall was some of the other children helping to rouse me from my unconscious state. My vision was flickering in and out, as an unseen something occurred. I was too young to fully understand, but it was as if a hidden switch had been flipped inside of my mind. Memories of my past life flooded my head, followed by an amazing amount of new data. Five-year-old me saw things that would change my life forever. And at the end of it all, I saw a status board:

As I began to understand what I was seeing, I attempted to use one of the skills to free everyone from our current situation. That attempt quickly ended as a splitting pain swarmed my body. Then I saw a crest on my chest, and without knowing it, my eyes triggered another skill called [Analysis Eyes.] As the skill came in to being, I saw new info come across my field of vision.
Information from Analyze
Name: Slave Crest
Type: Curse
Effect:
Those under the effect of this are unable to do anything against their master's will. It would also include the use of unknown skills that may affect the master's property's value or its loss. Those under it may never harm their master even if the master orders them (This is the only time Crest will not punish the effected for disobedience.)
Attempt to escape will cause extreme pain capable of driving the effected to the knees and only allow them enough strength to crawl back to their master. Once they are around, they must wait in the position until the master releases the punishment. But if they still attempt to escape, the pain increases until the affected our driven to the ground completely, and if the master does not retrieve them, they will die from any number of things.
The unknown fact even to the caster of this spell – an effected person or thing if they become self-aware of this can overpower the crest through sheer will when they are double the caster's level.
Slave Crest caster level is 8, so those affected now only need to achieve level 16 to free themselves.
My eyes lit up as I saw the last bit of information. A goal came to mind: to achieve reaching that level. Of course, even with this as my goal, I knew the task would be easier said than done. As I was only a child, I had no idea how to even raise my levels- yet. With what I had gained from the unknown source, I began to understand as I sorted through the memories. My past life memories and integrated with my current life's memories allowing me an intellectual edge far beyond my years.
Thanks to the long trip towards the city where our captors were going to sell us off to someone else, I was still able to process my thoughts and made adjustments to my thinking at my own pace. I went over each of the many memories that I had of my previous life. This allowed me to learn how to do things that, previously, I was unable to do. The caravan moved at a slow, steady pace and because of this I was able to observe the other children. And when a group of them were about to try and attempt an escape; I decided to speak out to those children before they had a chance. I knew somewhere there was an observer, one of the slavers, waiting to punish them for the attempt. Somehow, I said this without letting on that I knew that they were there in some hiding spot.
"I wouldn't try that; something my mother taught me makes me believe we're already under an effect of slave magic, so it may be better to wait for our parents and the other villagers. They're the only ones strong enough to dispel it."
To my relief, the other children in the wagon had chosen to listen to my words, and they did not act up. Everyone remained where they were (including the man who had been watching us.) From where I sat, I thankfully observed his malicious intent lessen even with him not moving from his spot.
This fact allowed me to be relieved ever so slightly. And in turn allowed me to begin to think of other things to attempt to use some of the skills that I learned (if only to see which ones would trigger the crest's effect.) To my relief, as long as the skill wasn't an attack-oriented one, I could use a limited amount of my new abilities. Although it appeared that the only magic, I could do was healing, but this was the information I needed. As my parents had always taught me as a warrior, we still need to know what our bodies can do before we ever attempt anything.
Us children, we all lived in that wagon for what seemed like forever. Many of us lost hope. It took a little over a month to arrive at the city where we all would be separated and then sold to a select few. But over that time, I did find chances to use the skills I could alleviate some of the other Ogres pain in secret. The enslavers had chosen to use us, children, as servants as a way to begin our training. We worked as servants, common labors, and possible warriors as occasionally, they forced us kids into fights with wooden weapons for their entertainment.
This was the daily routine for the captive children; each morning our guard would wake us with a bucket of water splashing across us, and then we did the daily necessity. They had no fear of us running as we had the 'slave crest' to keep even the adults in check.
The slavers had given us children the duties of keeping the campsite clean, fetching the water for everyday uses and materials for a campfire. I was fortunate enough that I was approved by the slave master to have the job of bringing water from the nearest water source. As I did, I used my skill [Alchemy Mastery] to spot plants, roots, and other things. My goal was to locate anything that would assist in healing the injuries that the ogres sustained from the raid and various other reasons. After collecting the various supplies, on my way to the river. I would take time to pour out the bucket's content onto the riverbank before filling the bucket with the river water.
With that done, I sat the bucket on the bank and then knelt beside it and used the small amount of healing magic I could to purify and detoxify the water inside the bucket. I then started to crush up the plants, roots, leaves, and some pieces of critters I manage to get my hands on and toss it back into the bucket. After a short period, I turned the clean, clear river water I had made back to what look to be river water again. And after I had finished this, I grabbed the handle, carried it back to the camp. Once I was back at the campsite, one of the guards gave me a look before striking my head for being slow. I then took the bucket over to the cooking area before going to the cauldron, then poured it in.
I watched as the mixture brewed. I was lucky enough most of the humans in this group could not tell the difference between vegetation and herbs, so they didn't pay it any mind. They did not choose to care about what we ate, as to them, we were just beast of burden not worth any more than the gold or silver that they would get from selling us (so they could fill their money pouches.) But I stood there watching and waiting as the other kids responsible for the cooking did their work. I watched as the children scooped out some of the heated water from the cauldron and left to cool inside of the drinking pail; once they had finished doing this, the rest of the kids went to work in making a soup that all of us slaves would be allowed to eat.
I continued to watch as the kids made the soup, tossing in the scraps the slavers gave us that they didn't want to consume and the other things some of the kids manage to find while they were out foraging for other things. After a while, the putrid stench of the soup filled my nose, when I saw the others could smell it as well; I walked over to the cauldron and begun to fill the empty bucket beside it. As I filled the pail, I handed it off to another child who was also carrying the bowls before going to feed the adults and children. I used [analyzed eyes] to scan the soup after I filled the last pail and was delightfully surprised by the result.
Name: Slave Scrape Soup
Type: Soup
Effect of a bowl of soup:
Low-grade heal – 15 HP restoring
Low-grade mp – 10 MP restoring
Low-grade Stamina – cumulative restore over a half-hour
Small Cure effect: chill, burn, paralyze, and poison
Other effects: Bone readjustment and Bone mending
Side effect – Consumer temporarily has their pain receptors our turned off.
I took that pail and went and helped feed the other slaves before sitting down and consuming the last of it in my bowl for myself. As the liquid trickled down my throat, I watched and continue to scan the others to see how they were doing; I did this occasionally to be sure my efforts were paying off. By the time I finished the last of my soup I had completed all of my scanning of the ogres taken in the raid. After I did this, I began to collect the ogres' empty vessels to help clean them and then store them before returning to my spot on the wagon. I repeated this process every day until the last one: the night before we got to the city.
When we got to the city, we were all led off the slave wagons. After being cooped up like livestock, we arrived at the trading area for slaves. There, we were checked over to ensure all were in good enough health to draw a decent price. After the check-up, our new master had one of the mages in their service to take the time to adjust each of the slave crests to change ownership before being moved into a slave pen. And this is where we stayed for many days feeding us the minimum as we watched our numbers dwindle as they sold us off to new owners.
Then came the day, I met the man that would become my owner. I, of course, would spend the next eleven years with this person and his family. Until the day I received my final order from him and my name Drago.
The order was to take his daughter away from the bandit attack scene using any means I could, and if I completed this task, through his wording of this order it would allow the crest to dissipate. Still, I could feel my body changing as I used my skills to kill any attackers in defense of my master's daughter. Once we were clear of the battle's general area, I used a skill called [Gate] and then open a gate to the village that was my target, taking my charge to her mother and her father's other wife.
I carried the girl through, and as I did, the gate closed behind us, and I took the girl as fast as my feet could carry me through the streets of the village. I could sense eyes on me, but my master's orders were my only concern. I just prayed that no one got in my way, and the fates smiled on me as I manage to get to the small estate. Once we were there, I placed the girl down on her feet and led her inside, and once I met the mother, I handed off the daughter.
After I did this I than explained what had happen to their husband; I consoled them, and I bid them farewell. On my way out, I repeated the full order to them that he had given to me; the second wife checked my status to learn that the crest was indeed gone. More I was transitioning from being an ogre to being a Kijin, and my former owner's family suggested I wait until the metamorphosis was complete. So, I took up their offer, and I walked over to the stables and laid down and let the change happen, but I used my [analyzed eyes] to see my stats

As I got to that part of my memories; I opened my eyes, and returned to reality. It had been six months since being released from the slave crest. I had been exploring many places and was in the process of traveling to a town called Tempest as it was a village for demi-humans, demons, and other things. But beyond that, I wanted to see this world before I got to the destination and test out a few of my skills. I had begun using the 'Dimensional world' blessing and such and had quite a large garden of herbs for alchemy use (I had even stayed inside of it when there was bad weather.)
As I sat on the ground, I tried to decide if I wanted to hunt for breakfast or gate to a town and buy it. In the long run, the easiest choice was going to the town, so I got up and brushed myself off before using my [Gate] skill to open a gate to the 'Armed Nation of Dwargon.' Once the gate was stable, I stepped through and found myself staring at the large mountain that housed the city of Dwarves. It had been some time since I had seen this beautiful sight. The last time I had seen these mountains, I was with my former owner as a worker to load things and be someone that his daughter could play with (and protector for her if the time came.) After I took in the sight of it, I made my way towards the already formed line for the entry that everyone needed to do to get inside.
