It is a beautiful summer day near some academy in Japan. Sonic and Tails get ice cream after stopping Robotnik and taking back South Island.
Tails: Hey Sonic, where's that hoodie you got from Tatsuya's world?
Sonic: I put it away because it's summer and it's hot.
Tails: Oh yeah. Well, things are looking pretty normal now that Eggman's on holiday. For a week.
Sonic: Knuckles went back to Angel Island, Mighty and Ray are probably out at the beach, Vector's playing Rocket League, and I have no idea what Espio and Charmy are up to. Amy's probably shopping with Asuna and the others right now. Just a guess. Wonder how Ruby and her friends are doing.
Tails: Well, it's the two of us best friends hanging out right now.
Sonic: Yep. What could possibly go wrong?
Meanwhile, a boy named Ichika Orimura, along with Dan Gotanda, and a big group of girls go out shopping to prepare for their trip.
Dan: You really are a lucky guy are you, Ichika.
Ichika: Huh? What do you mean?
Dan: The fact that you're in a school full of cute girls.
Houki: He's kind of a slut at times but he's a good guy. When he first started, he had a very intense reaction.
Ichika: Yeah, but I've gotten really used to it by now.
Charlotte: Well... Look on the bright side. He may be the only male in the academy, but he's not the only one in the group right now.
Rin: There are more girls. That's the issue.
Laura: Not to mention each one of us has a single goal in mind.
Houki: At least Ran's joining the academy real soon, right?
Ran: Yep.
Tatenashi: If you want a tour around the place, I'll happily give you one.
Ran: Yeah. That'd be great.
Dan: Little Sis, I have something to tell you. Don't do anything I wouldn't do. And please please please, be safe!
She glares at his older brother and that immediately shuts him up.
Dan: Okay.
Cecilia: For siblings they get along quite well.
Ran: Huh? Woah! Look!
Ichika: Huh? What's up?
Ran: Over there! That blue guy!
Ichika: What about him?
They see the blue hedgehog and two-tailed fox coming out of a movie theater, laughing after watching Paul Blart Mall Cop.
Rin: The hedgehog?
Dan: Holy snap! That's Sonic the Hedgehog! The freaking fastest thing alive! He's here?!
Ichika: THE Sonic? We have got to get his autograph.
Ran: You bet we do! Come on!
The two guys and little sibling go to meet Sonic.
Laura: A world famous hero.
Tatenashi: This is such a surprise. I didn't know they were fans of his.
Houki: Sonic's a pretty cool guy. He's beaten Eggman, how many times?
Rin: I lost count.
Charlotte: Well, there's no point in sitting back and watch. Let's go say hi.
They walk over to say hi to the duo.
Sonic: Man! Paul Blart is the best!
Tails: Yeah! I dunno if it's that or The Nutty Professor!
Ichika: Excuse me. You're Sonic the Hedgehog, are you?
Sonic: In the flesh.
Ran: I can't believe it! It's such a huge honor! Eek!
Dan: It's really him! Can we have a picture with you?
Sonic: Sure thing.
Ichika, Dan, and Ran get in position, along with the duo.
Charlotte: Uh, why don't we all get in the picture?
Ichika: Great idea!
Everybody gets in position.
Sonic: Uh, who's taking the photo?
Everyone: Not it!
Dan: Not it! Agh Dang it!
Ichika: Too bad, Dan.
Dan grabs his phone and takes the picture. It came out really great, even with Tails making a funny face.
Dan: Let me tell you, this guy always hogs the girls.
Sonic: Oof. That sounds like someone I know.
Ichika: Hey! I do not hog girls!
Houki: You're literally the only man at the IS Academy. Is it not obvious?
Tails: An I what now?
Cecilia: It's a boarding academy where students around the world go to learn how to pilot an Infinite Stratos. IS for short.
Laura: Only a female can pilot one, but Ichika is the first and only male at the moment who can pilot at IS.
Sonic and Tails: Only one?!
Sonic: Well that explains a lot.
Tails: Me and Sonic have a biplane. And he let's me pilot it.
Sonic: We call it the Tornado. It's pretty fast.
Tatenashi: Not as fast as an IS unit. Here's a little bit of some footage of some of our personal units.
The blue haired older sibling shows a video of their personal IS units, and how extremely powerful they are. Big swords, big guns, cyborg robotic armor thingies, and all of that stuff.
Sonic and Tails: WHAT THE HECK?!
Sonic: Who the heck made this kind of stuff?!
Tails: Whoever did it definitely stole Iron Man's gig!
Houki: Ask my annoying big sister.
Sonic: Oh.
?: Oh. I see you're all here too.
Chifuyu Orimura and Maya Yamada show up.
Ichika: Sis? Miss Yamada?
Rin: What are you doing here?
Yamada: We both came to shop for our trip to Fiji.
Ichika: Fiji? Huh. That's where we're going too.
Chifuyu: Oh brother...
Yamada: Is something wrong?
Chifuyu: No. Nothing's wrong.
Sonic: Oh. You guys are going to Fiji? And you two are siblings? Cool.
Ichika: Oh yeah! We just met Sonic right here! We even took a picture with him!
Yamada: Wow. This is surprising.
Chifuyu: I never expected to see someone very famous show up around these parts.
Tails: So I guess you two are from that IS Academy as well?
Chifuyu: I'm their homeroom teacher, Chifuyu Orimura. This is Maya Yamada, their assistant homeroom teacher. Some of them are in our class.
Tails: You have got to show us those IS machines! They look really awesome!
Chifuyu: If you can pilot one, or if something big is going on, then we will show you.
Sonic: Well we better get go...
He gets interrupted by a blue robot swiping him from the scene, really fast, and choking him as they fly through the mall.
Sonic: What the... Oh, hey Metal! Thought Eggman was taking a week off!
Metal Sonic: *Beep Beep!*
Sonic: Oh he is? Guess you just want to be even with me, eh?
Metal Sonic: *Beep beep beep!*
Sonic: Okay that's fine!
They look at the fight.
Tails: Metal Sonic's really going at it while Eggman's on break?
Ichika: Guess it's time for us to go to work.
Laura: So it seems.
Tatenashi: So Tails. You wanna see an IS in action?
Tails: OH YEAH I DO!
Ichika steps forward first and activates his personal Infinite Stratos, Byakushiki. Seeing this makes Tails pull out his cell phone to take a picture.
Tails: Awesome.
Behind them, Heavy King and the rest of the Hard-Boiled Heavies appear.
Tails: Oh crud. It's the Heavies.
Heavy King: Give us your personal IS units. Now.
Houki: Not gonna happen!
Tails: There's nothing you can do about that! They got really awesome machines here!
Heavy King: Oh, I CAN do something about it. See I will be really really mad and I will blow you up with dynamite if you don't give it to me.
Sonic falls down on the floor.
Sonic: Hey guys! Think we can take this outside where there's more space?
Heavy King: Good idea. People are shopping here.
