Rountree set the phone down and smiled. "How do you feel about going to Texas with me?" he asked. Fatima looked up and raised an eyebrow.
"You want me to go on a road trip with you, to another state?" she asked, curling up tighter with the blankets on the couch.
"Yeah! My parents are hosting a barbecue! It'll be fun, I can take you sightseeing!" he begged. Fatima blushed.
"Um, how long will we be there?" she asked nervously.
"Two full days of driving there and back, three days there, so five?" he replied sweetly. Fatima hugged her knees to her chest. Rountree sat down next to her. "You okay?" he asked. Fatima nodded a little.
"I just don't know if I'm ready to meet your parents," she whispered. "What if they don't like me?" she asked.
"I've told them about you. They already love you," he whispered.
"Do they, um, do they know I'm-" she mumbled awkwardly.
"Yes. They don't care," he whispered, puling her close to him. Fatima grinned.
"I don't see the harm, then," she replied. They shared a kiss, then snuggled in together.
