A/N: The Lizardmen do NOT change and become Faunas. They will forever remain as they are in appearance.

Chapter 1:Chaos Defeated, Remnant Found

Strogaz the Wrathstrider wailed in agony as the mighty Saurus warrior Kroltahk drove his spear through the demon's chest multiple times. The hordes of Chaos had been utterly routed. The final war against Chaos itself was about end and the Lizardmen of Lustria were truly going to win. The Mage Priests had found away to cut off the Chaos Demons and their Demon Lords from the source of their power. The abominations had been rendered powerless.

With one final thrust, Kroltahk slew the last of the Chaos Demon Lords, shattering the morale of the hordes of Chaos. The armies of Lustria now stood before the last of the Chaos portals, ready to seal away and destroy the forces of Chaos forever. Kroltahk tossed the Demon Lord's corpse back through the portal before retreating.

Mighty stegadons carrying the Engines of the Gods thundered forth and took their positions. The Skink crews onboard readied the mighty and sacred machines and fired. The portal to the realm of Chaos was undone. The world had been saved and the Old Ones could finally return to bestow upon upon them their infinite and unknowable wisdom. Peace and order would reign supreme and the Lizardmen could finally return to their tasks as the teachers of the younger races.

Kroltahk gasped in joy and relief, "It is over. At last, we have won. We drove the Skaven to extinction, we forced the elves and men back to the lands they were allotted. Finally, we have vanquished the hordes of Chaos! I cannot wait for the day the Old Ones return to tell us their Great Plan!"

The Saurus was slumped against a boulder to catch his breath. Fighting and killing Strogaz took a lot out of him, so he needed to rest.

Suddenly, something happened the Lizardmen did not expect. The infernal red and eerie sickly glowing green energies of the portal vanished only to be replaced with something else. Lord Mazdamundi had sensed something was off.

The Mage Priest said, "The energy I sense now does not come from the realm of Chaos. This is something else. We cannot leave this unattended in any way."

The other Saurus warriors, the Skinks, and the Kroxigors gazed upon the portal with confusion. They did not know whether to touch or stay away from it.

Kroltahk, on the other hand, was entranced by it for reasons even he couldn't understand. He slowly walked over to it and reached his hand out to touch the mysterious energy.

Mazdamundi was quick to catch this.

"Kroltahk! Stay back! We do not know where it leads or what it will do!"

But it was too late. The moment Kroltahk touched it, the portal reached out with tendrils of pure energy and grabbed him. Kroltahk realized the stupidity of his actions and tried to pull away, but his struggle was in vain. The tendrils of energy won out after a brief struggle and pulled him in.

A team of a dozen Skinks, eight Saurus warriors, and six Kroxigors leaped through with a rope to tie around Kroltahk to pull him back through safely. What they found on the other side would change everything they thought they knew.

(On the other side of the portal, Remnant, the Emerald Forest, during initiation…)

Kroltahk felt a bit dizzy from the strange experience, but he shrugged it off rather quickly. Standing up, he took stock of his surroundings. It was strange. He knew he was surrounded by trees, bushes, and grass, but none of the vegetation looked anything like the jungles he called home. The air was…different here. Not hot and humid or cloying, but not biting and frigid, either. Kroltahk checked himself to be sure nothing was out of place or damaged. Thankfully, his wounds had already healed and he had all of his armor and weapons.

Suddenly, the Saurus warrior heard rustling in the bushes behind him. Readying a two-handed obsinite long sword he'd made himself, Kroltahk turned to face the threat. Two dozen strange, black creatures with skull-like faces and glowing red eyes emerged from the foliage, snarling and growling. Kroltahk reached out with his unique ability to use magic and found that these beasts had no souls and wanted nothing but the complete and utter destruction of all life. These were creatures of Chaos! The vile abominations had to die!

The black beasts lunged, but Kroltahk was faster. He slew half of them with one massive arc from his sword. When they fell to ground, the slain monsters suddenly began to vaporize. Strange. The Demons of Chaos never vaporized like this. Maybe they weren't beasts of Chaos. However, he was going to kill these abominations all the same.

The remaining dozen beasts realized they were outclassed and outmatched. They turned to flee, but they never had a chance. Kroltahk closed in on them and cut them down. Once more, the forest was quiet. Kroltahk waited until the corpses had completely vaporized before observing his new environment again.

Then, he noticed something intriguing. There were footprints in the dirt and soil. Human footprints. Oh, joy. Warmbloods. They were always annoying. Why did they need to feel like they needed to expand their territories beyond what was given to them? In his mind, it made no sense. Well, Kroltahk would find out once he found them. The tracks pointed north, so Kroltahk would go north.

He sprinted into the forest at top speed, becoming a dark blue, dark gray, and gold blur among the greenery.

After 45 minutes of solid sprinting, Kroltahk found himself in an enormous clearing with some form of ruins. And yes, among these ruins were several humans, young ones, from the looks of them. They, too, were fighting more of those black creatures. It seemed he wasn't the only one bent on slaying the abominations. Good. He would aid them in the battle, then he would get the answers he sought.

The one they were fighting looked like a giant scorpion, but there was another one that looked like a giant black bird. Kroltahk would deal with the bird first. Switching a bow and his arrows, Kroltahk took aim, channeled his magic, and fired. His aim was perfect.

The bird was descending to attack one of the humans, but the arrow went straight through its skull, entering the mouth and exiting through the back of the monster's head. The bird fell, dead and vaporizing. Kroltahk snapped his fingers and the arrow he'd fired suddenly appeared in his hand. He placed it back into the quiver on his belt before going back to his sword.

As he charged the giant black scorpion, the humans turned to see him. It was odd, noticing how shocked they were. Kroltahk had seen humans before and they 'd seen his kind before, so he thought nothing of it. It was a new experience to find humans who were dumbstruck by the sight of him. One of the humans was pinned by her cloak with a giant black feather and the scorpion's huge golden stinger was about to impale the little human. Kroltahk jumped into the air, sword raised to strike.

The bade came down and severed the stinger in one swift stroke. Koltahk idly noticed that these beasts were, oddly enough, far weaker than the foes he'd faced already. Were the humans here simply that weak or were Kroltahk and his fellow Lizardmen and their enemies simply that powerful? He wouldn't know, but maybe he could ask the Mage Priests once he found a way to get back to them.

As Kroltahk came down, he positioned his sword for a downward thrust and stabbed the scorpion in the head. It screeched before spasming and then slumping the ground, dead. The Saurus warrior hopped down. Then he went over to the giant feather pinning one of the humans. Sliding his sword back into his scabbard, Kroltahk gripped the quill of the feather and pulled. The feather came out with some effort, but not a lot.

Kroltahk turned to regard the human he'd freed. She was very tiny, with pale skin and wide, silver eyes. She looked up at him almost like he was one of the Old Ones. Strange. Was this how he and his kin viewed the Old Ones? If he was being honest with himself, he had no real clue, but maybe he'd figure it out. He'd consult with the Mage Priests about the matter.

The tiny human girl suddenly cheered, "Holy crap! That was awesome! You actually killed two massive Grimm in just a few hits! Thank you!"

Much to Kroltahk's surprise, she went and hugged his leg. A human who didn't approach him with hostile intent? That was new. Kroltahk was unsure as to what he was supposed to do.

Thankfully, he was saved from further confusion when another human called out, "Ruby! Get away from that thing! We don't know what it's going to do if you keep hugging it like that!"

Kroltahk turned to the source. It was another human, also female. He was really going to have adjust his mind to applying words and concepts that had nothing to do with being male or a cold-blooded reptile.

The human girl in question was taller, but still short. She was very slender, with even paler skin, white hair, and pale blue eyes. She was also dressed in white and very light gray. He wasn't sure what she said about him, but it was clear she didn't think he was all that intelligent. It seemed she thought him little more than a savage beast. Time to correct her on the matter.

Gently pulled the little human clad in red and black from his leg and setting her down, Kroltahk pulled his sword out and stormed over the pale human girl. In one swift, fluid motion, he planted his right foot on the girl's chest and shoved her to the ground. He planted his sword in the ground next to her head before getting in her face and snarling. The human was now frozen in terror upon realizing her blunder. Good. She was beginning to understand her place as a Warmblood.

However, just to be certain, he roared in her face at the top of his lungs. Her scream was perfect.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

(With Ruby and crew…)

Yang Xiao Long rolled her eyes when her little sister up and hugged this towering lizard guy and proceeded to gush over him. How typical of her. Yang was always telling her she needed to make new friends, but if it just so happened to be a gigantic lizard dude with simple, but insanely sharp and durable weapons who could kill giant-ass Grimm with almost no effort, then Ruby wasn't going to hesitate.

She found the sight to be amusing. At least, until Weiss had to go and ruin it with her choice of words. When the lizard guy stomped over to Weiss, Yang suddenly had a much better idea as to how big he really was. The ease with which he essentially kicked Weiss flat on her back was scary.

Then there was that roar. Nobody had ever heard anything like it. That roar shook everybody to their core. If the Grimm were the bane of humanity's existence, then this guy was probably something worse. This was a true predator. At least he wasn't looking to kill anybody, if his blatant intelligence was anything to go by.

Yang just hoped nobody would get horribly mauled.

(Back to our scaly hero!)

Kroltahk pulled pack from the human's face before lifting his foot off of her. She was shaking like a leaf, terrified that he was going to eat her. Well, he didn't do that. That would be counterproductive when looking for answers.

Turning to the other humans, he growled, "What is this place? Why are you here?"

The humans trembled in fear once they heard his voice. It was clear they didn't realize he could speak. Then they froze up. They clearly wanted to answer his question, but their fear was too great.

A new voice made itself known and said, "Perhaps I can answer your question."

Kroltahk turned around to see an older human dressed in green and black. There was an air of wisdom about him, almost akin to the Mage Priests. However, there was also a bit smugness that was endemic to all Warmbloods. How annoying.

Kroltahk snarled, "Who are you, Warmblood?"

The green-clad man replied, "Hmm. So, you speak. Fascinating. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ozpin, headmaster of Beacon Academy."

Kroltahk asked coldly, "Where am I? This is not like the world I know."

Ozpin said, "You're definitely not from this world. That explains your desire for answers. You are on the planet Remnant, in the Kingdom of Vale. Your exact location is the Emerald Forest behind my school. I saw how you killed all those Grimm so easily. I'm honestly impressed. Why don't we continue this discussion in my office?"
