Ch. 1
Hermione woke up to what she believed to be far from what she had ever known. Only to find herself lying in bed, in what she imagined to be some kind of science lab. Where a man in a long white coat seemed to be watching things on a monitor.
She groaned, as she tried to get herself into a sit up position. But her body seemed to not wanting to listen to her. Only to find the man rushing towards her. Gently pushing her back down. "Now, now. You had an awful fall…"
"Who," she grasped out, "...are you?"
The man smiled, "My name is Professor Samuel Oak, I am a Pokemon researcher and this is my lab." He went over to a small frig and grabbed a water bottle. He gave it to her. Where she was able to take a sip. He asked, "What's your name?"
"Hermione...Hermione Granger and I don't think I'm from around her…" She saw that the professor didn't seem surprised by what she was saying to him. Which caused her to think about a word that he had spoken to her. "What is a Pokemon?"
"A Pokemon, is known as a pocket monster, because of our abilities to carry them in small balls. They are magical creatures that can use their powers to fight other Pokemon. While Pokemon trainers, or people who own them, gain experiences as their creatures become stronger. Trainers also win tokens as they over power gym leaders. Becoming a world known Pokemon Master…"
"Why would anyone want to harm creatures for fun," she asked with a sound of worry in her voice. With a harsh look into her eyes. "Doesn't anyone care or worry about harming them?"
"They do," he replied with warmth in his eyes. "But there are a great few that don't." With a thoughtful look. "Since there is no human possible way of sending you home." He looked at her knowingly. 'Why don't you take part in our way of living, by going out in the world and...experience it."
His smile grew even more, seeing the worry and shock on her face. "About a month from now, young teens come to my lab, where they are each getting their first Pokemon. Also during that time, a local teen, who had already gotten his Pokemon from me, some time ago. Will be heading off to a different kind of adventure. I'm sending him off to a school in the Lolo region…"
"School," she gasped out with happiness in her tone. It seemed to be the only word that she was able to catch up with the over enthusiastic professor before her.
"He and his mom will be coming over for dinner tonight…" The professor got up from his chair and made his way around the lab. Picking up things along the way. He came back with a few items. He handed her a red looking tablet. "This is a Pokedex, it gives you all the information you'll need to know about Pokemon. Even keeps track of what you've faced before and what you've caught. It even makes video calls…"
All Hermione could do was nod. But turned on the device and sure enough, it was blank. Similar to how she was feeling. The next object she was given was another tablet size looking computer.
"This is a computer, full of the world's current and past discoveries about Pokemon to date." He smiled at her. "There are other things as well, like history, science, and medical…"
Hermione allowed her mind to wonder. Seeing as the professor was going on a tangent of what she could learn about her new world. The last she remembered of hers, was the night before Ron's brother's wedding. Was Harry dragging her out into the garden.
He threw a paralyzing spell on her. Shoved a drink down her throat. Saying, "I can't live with myself, if something happened to you, Hermione." Kissed her forehead, feeling herself being de-aged. "Live and be free." He mumbled a sort of spell, a tear falling down his cheek. "My sister all but blood, live for me…"
A flash of orange light had flooded her sights. Before she woke up at Professor Oak's lab. Making her realize that she felt thirteen again. Noticing at her clothes no longer fit her as much as they did, before coming to the World of Pokemon.
"What do we tell people about you," the professor finally said something that woke her out of her lost thoughts.
"You're my Uncle Sam, who has been looking after me. When my parents had gone missing on a research assignment that you've sent them on…" The words seemed to have left her lips before she had a chance to think things clearly. But it seemed to be a really good possibility, non the less.
Professor Oak nodded his head. "That seems….logical." He thought about it for a moment before smiling at her. "Okay, I guess I'm going to have to get used to someone calling me uncle…"
Once the two had agreed that Hermione was strong enough to move on her own. He ushered her out of his lab. Leading her to the next part of the building, which was his home. Where he showed her around the house, where she found a room to call her own.
"Our guests should be around in a hour. Why don't you use this time to get yourself together…" He told her where she could find the bathroom. Before hearing him leaving to head back to his lab. Allowing her the time to enjoy some time alone.
After she had taken a long hot shower. She had found that indeed, she was in her thirteen year old body again. Since there was no ministry for magic in the world she was not living in. She used her wand to magic her clothes to fit her body better. A nice pair of jeans, a blue button down shirt and sandals on her feet.
She looked at herself in the mirror, only to want to have a new look. While living in a new world. She magically away her tight mismanaged curls. Making her hair become longer and looser than they had been. Making her hair a few shades lighter and weaved into a French braid, just moments before hearing the maid door open once again. Only to hear muffled voices.
"I guess...it's time."
Hermione made her way down the stairs only to be met with a young man full of energy. The same young man rushed over to her with a great big smile. "Hi, I'm Ash Ketchum and this is my partner, Pikachu!"
Hermione smiled, after a little yellow thing jumped onto Ash's shoulder, yelling out what she thought sounded like 'Pika.' She spoke with warmth for the first time since she woke up. "I'm Hermione Granger...it's nice to meet you…"
Over dinner she met Delia Ketchum, Ash's mother. While Ash told Hermione about his adventures that he had. Talking about Misty and Brock, a couple of gym trainers that traveled with him. Going over a group of villains known as Team Rocket, who seemed to never want to give up on wanting to take Pikachu from him.
"Why do they do that," she asked. Not coming up with anything that would make her want to take Ash's partner from him. Other than realizing that he may be more powerful than an average one.
He shrugged his shoulders. "The only thing I can think of is them wanting more powerful Pokemon without putting the effort of doing the same for their own…" Which seemed the conclusion that she came up on her own. "Do you have any Pokemon on your own?"
Before Hermione could say anything. Sammul Oak spoke up, "Not yet Ash. But I think I have one in mind for her." He gave her a kind smile. "It was one of my last Pokemon that I've caught and haven't had the time for her…"
She smiled at the kind professor. "That would be so kind, Uncle Sam."
Delia looked at Ash with a smile. "I'm so proud that my Ash is finally going to school, and not wandering around the world…"
"Mom," Ash gasped out in a hurtful tone. "I enjoy doing that!"
"I know but a worry, mom, I always will be. I'm just so happy to know where you'll be for a change." She then looked at Hermione with a kind smile. "What about your parents Hermione?"
Professor Oak sighed deeply. "They have been off on their research and...haven't heard from them in a while." He closed his eyes for a moment. "She came here after not hearing them for over a month…"
It was in that moment that Hermione Granger was etched into her new life. Being the kneese to Professor Oak and a new friend to Ash Ketchum of Pallet town.
