Ello!
So as ya'll have probably guessed already, this is the hundred-fic challenge (I'm challenging myself), centered around Lucifer and Trixie's friendship. Once again, I am wide open to requests so make sure to drop your ideas in the comment section bellow or just send me a PM, I'll be happy to read them.
Leggo.
It was about three o'clock in the afternoon, and things were just as usual at Lucifer's penthouse. Loud moans, whimpers, and sounds of heavy breathing came from the bedroom.
„Ahh, Lucifer… harder… Jesus Christ… harder…" The young female voice was accompanied by a very smug male voice.
„That's it, darling, say my name. Who am I?"
„Shit! Lucifer!"
„I can't hear you, love…"
„Oh my… ahh, Lucifer!"
„One more time, darling, don't be shy…"
The elevator dinged, and Lucifer's grin got even broader at the sound of footstepts.
„Oh, this must be your friend Aisha…" He heaved, never stopping. „Let's make her some room, shall we?" He pulled the covers over them, lifting his head. „Aisha, darling! Over here-"
„Lucifer?"
„Aaah!" The Devil shrieked in utter horror, tumbling off the bed and landing with a large thump, peeking up from behind the bed just long enough to throw the blanket over his shrieking, under-dressed (but regardless dressed) guest – and identify the intruder, who was not Aisha.
„Bloody hell, child!" He yelled as he reached for his chlothes, trying to dress himself as fast as possible. „Get out of my bedroom!"
Trixie, who was more surprised by the anger in his voice than what she walked into, stood there frozen, her small fingers gripping the backpack on her shoulders.
„But…"
„Go to the living room, right now!" Lucifer emerged from behind the bed, now fully clothed, pointing into the distance. His voice was only slightly calmer, but the little girl noticed it. „Go on then!" He ushered her, and she quickly ran out of the room.
„Shit, Lucifer!" The young woman hissed as he quickly uncuffed her and threw her her clothes. „Why the hell would you let kids into Lux? This is so disgusting!"
„I don't…" Lucifer sounded slightly offended as he watched her dress. „.let kids into Lux, I assure you, darling, this is just as much of a shock to you as it is to me-"
„Don't call me darling." She scoffed, eventually putting on her boots and standing up. She looked him up and down and snorted, sounding rather revolted. The Devil gasped at that; no woman's ever made that noise looking at him. „You're sick."
„Wha-Jasmine, I am not…" The girl was already heading for the elevator. „The child just showed up unannounced!" Jasmine got in the elevator and flipped him off, keeping her finger in the air until the doors closed. Lucifer stomped angrily, before turning around and nearly stumbling over Trixie. She seemed a little humble-mouthed, but otherwise fine. He lifted his pointer finger to give her the lecture of her life but suddenly realized that the child just saw them doing it. Okay, she couldn't actually see them do it since they were covered with a blanket – well, that's until he fell off the bed – but she would surely ask. And he'd have to answer. Small problem though: he never lies.
„We…" He actually started sweating a little bit. „We were just…"
„Having a pillow fight, I know." Trixie answered with a sleazy shrug, making Lucifer sigh with eternal relief, although he was still feeling unusually warm. „Mommy and Daddy had a pillow fight once, too, but they wouldn't let me play with them." She frowned. „But Mommy didn't have any handcuffs on." She shot Lucifer an objurgatory look. „It wasn't fair to handcuff her, Lucifer. She never had a chance to win."
The Devil had a small smile tugging at his lips, all of his anger melting away in seconds as he tried to hold his laughter.
„Yes, well…" He cleared his throat. „I shall remember that next time." He passed by her before it dawned on him. „Erm… urchin?" The little girl looked up at him eagerly. „Whatever are you doing here?"
Trixie bounced on the balls of her feet, her hands behind her back.
„Mommy said to come here after school, because Lolita's sick." She didn't specify who Lolita was, but Lucifer assumed it was her babysitter. „She said you promised to take care of me today."
The Devil gasped, his hand diving into his pocket in search of his phone.
„I did nothing of the-" He took a glance at the screen and sighed. „Oh."
The text he got from the Detective was short, but to the point.
You owe me.
Right. Yes, he does – the realization dawned on him. He told Chloe he owed her one when she let him pull a little prank on one of the suspects they were interrogating. It was harmless, really, but they did get to the bottom of the case faster. And it was also fun.
„Right." He looked around, trying to find something that could catch the interest a child Trixie's age. „You can entertain yourself, yes?" He ran to the couch and picked up the remote control, holding it out of Trixie. Reluctantly, she took it. „Marvelous. If you'll excuse me, I have a night club to tend to…" He started for the elevator.
„You're not staying?"
He turned around, ready to send a declining answer on its way, but stopped when he saw her facial expression. Her eyes were wide and sad, and her lips were slightly parted in disbelief. Nice try, urchin, he thought. Unlucky for you though, I invented the puppy dog eyes first. „No, I'm-" He was already standing in the elevator when his phone dinged.
If you leave her alone to entertain herself, I'm going to do unspeakable things to you.
It did cross his mind to send her back a cheeky text asking her to be more specific, but he eventually just sighed and held his arm out to stop the door from closing in on him.
„On second thought, I might just stay."
„Yay!" Trixie jumped up and down in joy as he got out of the elevator and shot her a quick look of disapproval, making it clear he didn't share her joy at the sudden turn of events. „What are we gonna do?" She asked excitedly. „Color? Draw? We could play! I know so many games!"
Lucifer shuddered at the thought of playing with a human child.
„Yes, I'm sure. If you were to be so kind and leave me out of them, I would be forever thankful."
„But playing alone is boring!" Trixie whined, getting on the Devil's nerves already.
„Not my problem!" He passed by her again.
„Fine!" She snapped. „I don't even wanna play with you anyway!"
„Fine!" Lucifer snapped back, and could her the little girl retort one last time before he locked himself in the study room.
„Fine!"
Fifteen minutes. It's been only fifteen minutes since he's started reading a book, but he just couldn't focus. It's not like he was feeling guilty for leaving her, he didn't technically leave her. They were still close – too close, even – only, not in the same room. Chloe didn't specify if they had to be in the same room or not.
Still, he was feeling slightly inclined to return to her. It's not like it was her fault they were stuck with each other… and what's more important, Chloe would be pissed if Trixie told her that all he did was yell at her and then lock himself away. He let out a deep sigh, rubbing his temple before pushing himself to his feet. He stopped at the door with his hand on the doorknob before his eyes widened. It just now occured to him that so far, the little parasite made no noise. At all.
Oh, bloody hell.
He rushed out of the room, heart racing, already thinking of a thousand places where the child could've ran off to, but stopped in his tracks once he reached the living room.
Oh. Well, that's… actually not so bad.
Trixie obviously noticed his presence, but her only reaction was pursing her lips together before continuing to draw. She'd laid out newspapers on the table to make sure she didn't leave any marks, her backpack was under her chair, and everything else was intact. Lucifer had to admit, he was a little impressed. He walked a bit closer to her and this time she didn't react at all.
„What are you drawing?" He asked her awkwardly. Initially, he was just asking to start a conversation, but once he took a glance at the paper he was actually curious. Whatever was in the middle of the picture, it was unrecognizable.
„None of your business." Came the defiant answer, and Lucifer nearly gasped at the disrespect, but then remembered that he actually kind of deserved it. On the other hand, he ran out of ideas to make peace with her. He did think of apologizing, but that was obviously ridiculous. Instead, he took a seat at the bar and poured himself a drink. He was just about to take a sip when the little girl spoke up.
„A horse."
Lucifer turned back, confused.
„Excuse me?"
„A horse." She repeated, not looking up for a second. „I'm drawing a horse."
„Ah." Lucifer nodded, taking another glance at the picture from afar. His doubts got the better of him. „Are you sure?"
Finally, Trixie lifted her head. The Devil couldn't place her resentful expression.
„What?" He finally asked, and the little girl thought a bit before straightening her back, confidently.
„You're just jealous. That's what Mommy says."
Lucifer suddenly choked on his drink, immediately beggining to cough. He waited until he could decently form words.
„Your mother says what now?" He asked hoarsely, slightly scandalized.
„Luke told me my picture wasn't pretty yesterday. Mommy said he was just jealous, and that makes you jealous, too. It's because you can't draw." She stopped drawing for a second, and tilted her head to the right. „At all."
Lucifer gasped, infuriated.
„How dare you?" His thundering voice was nothing to intimidate the little girl, so he put his drink down and hopped down on the couch opposite her. „Slander!" He took some paper from the child and grabbed a few pencils. „I'll show you who can't draw…"
He got to work quickly, almost violently. Trixie watched him for a little while, a cheeky grin spreading across her cheek that Lucifer was too occupied to notice. If he only knew…
There was a considerable amount of silence with only the sound of scribbling filling the room.
„Who's Aisha?" The little one suddenly asked. Lucifer looked up at that, enabling her to see his unfinished drawing and he immediately held the picture to his chest.
„Focus on your own horse!" Childishly, he even turned away, now blocking all possible view.
„You didn't answer." She told him.
„Didn't answer what?" He asked, scribbling away swiftly. There was no way he'd let her finish before him.
„Who's Aisha?"
Lucifer stopped drawing for a second.
„She's…" He decided he'd rather not get into it. „She's nobody."
„It's okay." Said Trixie sympathetically, and Lucifer frowned in confusion, but refused to stop working. „I used to have imaginary friends, too. Mommy says everybody grows out of it eventually."
Lucifer gave a small chuckle.
„I'm several thousand years old, urchin. If I ever had imaginary friends – which I never did – surely I would've grown out of it by now." He took one last good look at his drawing before finishing up and turning it towards the little girl. „There, child. Observe and learn."
Trixie's eyes widened, and she let out a shriek of joy. The details, the colors, the… everything…
„Lucifer!" She took the picture, jumping up and down with it, then suddenly stopped when it dawned on her. She looked up at the Devil in awe. „It's a unicorn!" She just looked at it for a few seconds, then started jumping again. „It's so pretty!"
Lucifer laughed a little at her enthusiasm, suddenly feeling very proud of himself. And maybe, just maybe a little content at how happy the little twist made her. It's not like he did it intentionally, he just felt like drawing a unicorn instead of a horse. It happens.
„Well, child? What did you expect from a seveal-thousand-year-old devil? I've had all the time in the world to learn!"
Trixie stared at the picture in adoration, then hugged it close to her chest.
„This is the cutest unicorn ever!" She exclaimed happily. „Can I keep her? I wanna put her on my wall!" Her eyes were wide and full of hope, and Lucifer suddenly felt a strange warmth spread across his chest, somewhere around his heart. The feeling was so unusual he actually reached out to rub the area affected.
„Well, I suppose if you wish so…" The warmth in his chest felt rather nice, and he let his hand down. „However, I felt I was drawing more of a he when I started-ugh! Child!"
Trixie had thrown herself at him, her small arms around his neck.
„Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm gonna call her Sparkles!" She could feel Lucifer trying to wiggle out of her grasp – carefully – but that obviously didn't stop her.
„Child!" The Devil warned again whilst squirming, then threatened in desperation. „Child, unhand me this instant or I'm keeping the unicorn!"
That worked. Trixie immediately pulled away. Lucifer smoothed his suit down.
„Gah."
The little girl stared at the picture still, before looking up at him thoughtfully.
„You were supposed to draw a horse, but you drew a unicorn." She observed, then smiled at him. „Just for me."
The Devil blushed, suddenly on his feet.
„Nonsense." He walked back to the bar, reaching for his drink. Trixie followed him and hopped on one of the stools, sitting opposite where he was standing.
„So who did you draw it for?" She asked, and he shrugged.
„Nobody. I just drew it, and then I graciously decided to let you have it." He gulped down the remainder of his glass and poured himself another drink, but the inquisitive little worm refused to drop the topic at hand.
„Nobody just draws a unicorn." She told him wisely, then suddenly had an idea. „Maybe you drew it for yourself!"
The Devil once again gasped.
„Myself?!" He scoffed. „Child, you are getting more and more absurd by the minute. Why would I draw myself a pink, sparkly, fabled creature?"
Trixie giggled at him.
„I told you you drew it just for me."
Lucifer put his glass down with a sigh, raising his pointer finger.
„For the last time, child…" Leaning on the table, he relized he indeed just made an indirect confession, and the little girl's smug grin didn't help the situation either. Instead, he straightened his back and changed the topic. „I told you I could draw." He gloated, although it didn't feel nearly as good as when the child complimented him. To his surprise, Trixie rolled her eyes.
„I always knew you could draw, dummy." She hopped off the stool and placed the picture carefully on the table, admiring it still.
„Whatever are you talking about?" Lucifer frowned, getting confused again. „I thought you said…"
The little girl turned towards him with a sly grin, and his eyes suddenly widened.
„You pawky little leech!" While he meant to sound objurgatory, he couldn't hide how impressed he was. And so he didn't. He gave a wide grin. „Well done, urchin! You tricked me!"
Trixie just kept giggling and shrugged, not feeling the weight of his words, so he decided to emphasise it a little more.
„Child, you tricked me!" He told her again, raising an eyebrow. „You do realize that makes one of you, right?"
The little girl wasn't so sure about that.
„I could trick you again if I wanted." She smirked at him cheekily, and he took on the challenge.
„Alright, confidence, confidence…" He grinned, crossing his arms. „Prove it if you can, urchin."
Trixie pretended to shake the offer off, sitting back down and taking another pencil.
„I could if I wanted to." She shrugged. „But I'd rather just draw instead." She started working again, and Lucifer watched with interest. As time passed and it still didn't look like anything, he couldn't help but asked.
„And what on Earth is that supposed to be, child?"
The little girl looked up at him with pseudo annoyance.
„An elephant. Duh!"
Lucifer frowned, surprised.
„It pains me to say so, but that is definitely not an elephant." He leaned a bit closer. „It looks more like a rain cloud, and a poor impersonation of that."
„Yeah, like you could do better." She snickered, and the Devil gasped again.
„Urchin, have you learnt nothing today? Give me that!" He snatched the paper out of her hand and immediately attacked it with an eraser, before taking a pencil and getting to work again. „I'm going to draw a real elephant for you right now, because unlike others, I always show proof!"
Trixie grinned from ear to ear as she leaned back on the couch.
Yeah. Not gullible at all.
Aaand that's it for chapter one, folks. Get ready for a whole lot more and make sure to let me know what you think! Should I continue?
