I would recommend reading my other story, *Unknown Future*. It's not essential, but it will help to clear up the backgrounds of particular characters in this story.
For the first time ever, Omega isn't brimming with excitement and curiosity about where she and her squad are going next once the Marauder had left Kamino's atmosphere. She wasn't there for Hunter's talk over the holo with Rex, she's not with her brothers in the cockpit, instead, she sits in her room tinkering away at AZI trying to restore his power unit. She's still sopping wet and yet makes no effort to dry herself, she isn't sure why.
She's desperately trying to distract herself from her heavy thoughts. Thoughts of Kamino and leaving Crosshair to his chosen fate have been flooding her mind like the heavy seas that swept through the halls, corridors, and laboratories of Tipoca city, only, how much longer until her mind goes from flooding to drowning? She's abruptly pulled from her thoughts when she hears a soft knock on the wall nearest to her.
"Omega?" Hunter calls to his sister from the other side of the curtain that provides her much wanted privacy from the others. Sluggishly she pulls the fabric back, not meeting Hunter's gaze, instead only giving the floor her attention.
"What did Rex say?" Her voice is lonesome and somber, very much unlike her usual excited self which Hunter takes note of immediately.
"He's… sending some friends of his our way. They're going to take us somewhere safe for a little while. Think we could all use that?" Omega nods with very little energy, her gaze stays down to the tool in her hand. "Why don't you come up to the bridge?" Hunter's hand reaches for the tool Omega's holding, his face lights up with surprise when she pulls away from him.
"I'm…. I want to try to get some sleep." The pause between them hurts her, hurts both of them, but Hunter doesn't want to push her, he knows she's tired. He knows what's bothering her, what she's thinking about over and over again because it's the same thing that they all are thinking.
"Alright," He sighs worriedly. "I'll wake you when we reach the rendezvous." Omega watches Hunter leave her with her heavy thoughts when he returns to the bridge where the rest of their brothers are waiting.
Pulling her shivering knees up to her chest along with Lula, Omega pulls her blankets up and over her head to encompass her in the radiant warmth. She squeezes her eyes shut, forcing and pleading with herself to stop thinking about the depths of Kamino and Crosshair.
