Hello people of the internet!

My name is gogetmesomecake and this is my first ever attempt at fanfiction! First of all I'd like to say that story was heavily inspired by MrsMalfoy18's story called 'Say I Love You', definitely give it a read it'll be worth your while~ So lots of credits to her, I loved her story. So much in fact that I felt motivated to give writing a go myself. English is not my native language so I hope you'll graciously forgive my grammar and/or spelling mistakes. Again, this is my first try at writing (ever) so all feedback is welcomed wholeheartedly but please go easy on me~ Without further ado, my attempt writing! Hope you enjoy~

Chapter 1

Fashionably late

Pov Oikawa

Looking back on it, I honestly have no clue where it all went wrong.

Well actually that's a lie, everything went down the drain the second I fell for her.

I can say with a hundred percent certainty though, that none of my plans ever went this poorly.

I risked a quick glance at the ground where the girl of my dreams is glaring back at me with such a thunderous expression that it might just summon a lightning strike to bring down the tree that I fled into just a few minutes ago.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Let's start at the beginning shall we?

It all started a mere six weeks ago...

~~flashback noises~~

We were in the midst of warming up for practice when our manager, Miyagi Chihiro, burst through the doors of the gym.

'My, my, look who finally decided to show up', I drawled, 'Overslept 'cuz you stayed up late thinking of me didn't you? Don't sweat it Chi-chan, happens to everyone at some point.' I added with a wink.

'Har har, very funny and didn't I tell you not to call me that? I don't remember ever getting on a first name basis with you.' Chi-chan said slightly peeved.

She quickly recovered though and a wide smile overtook the small frown on her face.

'I was late because I was on the phone with my childhood friend, she had some exiting news!' she exclaimed.

The silence that followed obviously meant that we were supposed to ask what this exiting news was, so me, being the amazing captain that I was took it upon myself to do so.

'And what could this friend have possibly told you to make you skip out on spending quality time with your amazing team?'

'Oh shut it you,' she chastised, 'the amazing news is that she will be transferring here in just a few days! She squealed making a small jump for joy.

Don't let her girly behaviour fool you though. While she may be sweet most of the time, once those oynx eyes see something they don't like you better believe you're in for the scolding of a lifetime. Her face will flush and her short brown hair will fall out of the bun she made stay together with sheer willpower. It is quite magnificent to look at from the sidelines to be honest. Emphasis on the words: 'from the sidelines'. Anyways, I digress.

I suddenly became aware of a set of eyes on me and see that the object of my musings is looking at me with slightly flushed cheeks. 'What is it Chi-chan?' I asked with a smirk, putting emphasis on the nickname. Realizing she had been caught staring she quickly averted her eyes and mumbled out a 'nothing'. I shrugged it off. Wonder what that's about.

Zoning back in on the topic of the transfer, I noticed that she had the attention of most of the team, who were always interested in any type of conversation about girls.

'But why now?' the question came from my right.

I didn't even need to look to know that the gruff voice belonged to my best friend Iwa-chan.

He had a point though, the school year started about two weeks ago, so why now indeed.

'Apparently her dad needed to move because of work so they moved to the nearby neighborhood. However the house that they bought had a spider invested corner in the basement that the previous owner had failed to mention and conveniently covered up with a storage unit.' Rin-chan explained, a frown once again overtaking her features. Maybe she didn't like spiders.

'But it doesn't take two weeks to clean up some spiders right?' someone shouted from the back of the little crowd we formed around the small girl.

'Normally yes, however the previous owner left the house a few weeks before my friend and her family moved in so there was no one to keep the spiders under control... I'll let your imagination fill in the blanks on the rest of the story.' she said with a pale face and a small shudder, confirming my thought that yes, she did not like spiders in the slightest, cute.

Murmurs of discomfort filled the gym for a minute or so until Mattsun, ever the one to think about the important questions in life, asked 'so when will she be coming to class?'

'Well she'll be starting officially on Monday, so in three days. However she will be getting a tour around the school this afternoon so you will all probably be able to meet her today' Our manager said smiling brightly, she was obviously quite excited about this whole ordeal. I hear a small huff from my right and when I glance in said direction I see Iwa-chan smiling gently at Chi-chan's beaming features. Interesting, maybe the staring a few minutes back wasn't directed at me.

'Alright everyone, enough talk, time to get back to work' coach shouted suddenly, making some jump up in surprise.

Everyone scrambled back to their spot in the gym to continue their warm ups.

This seemed like it was going an interesting day.

Well there you have it, my first chapter! I'm going to be honest with you: I have no idea yet of how I'm going to tie the start of this chapter to the end of it all, I just thought it would be a funny way to start a book. But who knows, maybe I'll figure it out. If anyone reads this book and likes it, please leave review so I know you want me to write a second chapter!

Bye for now, I hope you have a lovely day! :)
