Prompt: Dream
One dreamt of fire, of warmth on a cold day, of light in the darkness. Of purifying flames as capable of taking life as of protecting it.
One dreamt of water, of rain nurturing thirsty crops. Of rivers twisting upon the landscape and oceans teeming with life.
One dreamt of ice, of a calming blanket of snow upon a weary ground. Of blocks sturdy enough to build homes out of, and yet pillars strangely fragile.
One dreamt of lightning, of bolts cracking throughout the sky. Of energy surging and bringing motion to the motionless.
One dreamt of earth, of clay and mud, sweat and toil. Of the foundation beneath all else's feet, yet still towering into the sky on the back of mountains
One dreamt of wind, of the freedom of the boundless sky. Of twisting through the trees and across vast plains.
One dreamt of wood, of the sturdy oak withstanding the fiercest storm. Of forests providing food and shelter to any who seek it.
One dreamt of metal, of the continuous march of progress. Of armor that protected the weak, and technologies that left none behind.
One dreamt of darkness, of the shade that concealed all in safety. Of nights that allowed ones to rest, and return the next day, ready to start anew.
One dreamt of light, of the beacon of freedom. Of that which pierced shadows and destroyed illusions. Of that which gave life to all.
Together they dreamt of peace. Of a world where all could live in goodwill and harmony. Where none needed to suffer the evils of oppression.
Of a world where they where no longer needed.
