"Mom! Can I watch him again?"

Bedtime was approaching quickly, but Izuku Midoriya didn't seem sleepy at all, his eyes pretty much glued to the computer screen in front of him. While such behavior should have been worrying for his mother, Inko Midoriya understood his excitement, as she recalled information brought by her son after she took him home from kindergarten. Another boy manifested his quirk for the first time - something about stopping liquids from flowing if what Izuku told her previously was correct. As far as she remembered, he always reacted like this to new quirks, his excitement and curiosity leaving him hyperactive for the rest of the day.

"Again? This video must have thousands of views thanks to you watching it over and over again." Said Inko, as she made sure to start the clip from the beginning. "You can watch one more time honey, but after that, you go to sleep, alright?"

Izuku responded with a half-hearted nod, already too focused on the action in front of him. Inko sighted, and watched with him, her smile as big as that of her son.

On-screen there was All Might. Symbol of Peace and Number One hero of Japan. Everyone she knew respected that man, loved him even for everything he had done. This video of his debut was why she also felt like that.

"Can you see it!? He's already rescued 100 people! It's unreal!"

Here he was, saving people with a smile her son loves so much. She was grateful for his - and other heroes - existence. It was thanks to them that she didn't have to worry about her loved ones each day. She could go to her job and not fear for those who she held dear in her heart. Even with the ever-present existence of villains lurking in the shadows, she could go shopping away from home and everything would be fine.

"NEVER FEAR! WHY? FOR I'M HERE!"

Izuku jumped in his seat, hands shooting up as he shouted All Might's motto as loud as he could. Inko couldn't help but giggle, her boy's boundless enthusiasm overwhelming her as usual.

"He's soooo cool mom! When I get my quirk, I wanna be just like him!" Izuku announced, his stare still absorbing the rest of All Might's recorded debut.

"I bet you will become the greatest hero when you grow up" She kissed him on his cheek, after which she slowly made her way out of his room. "Watch the rest of it alone, okay honey? Your dad will be hungry once he comes back from work, so i have to prepare something for him"

She made sure to close the door behind her, and once she was in the kitchen, she started preparing some food for Hisashi. She kept smiling, an image of her joyful son engraved onto her mind. This however changed as she used her quirk to bring a knife to her hand, smile vanishing as Inko stopped dead in her tracks. Her quirk, Pull, allowed her to attract objects to her hands, but it had severe drawbacks. Her arms experienced equal but opposite force as one she applied onto objects, making usage on anything heavier not only problematic but outright dangerous for her.

She recalled times when she was young, naive, and full of dreams, not unlike how her son was currently. She once tried to pull an entire car towards her, the end result being her face smacking against the pavement while the car stood unmoved, a testament to her failure. Sometime after that, she tried to avoid the previous incident by putting herself behind a street lamp, her five-year-old logic being that, if she couldn't be moved, the car would move instead. The pain she experienced on that fateful day finally made her understand just how weak her quirk was. She couldn't be a hero, her power not good enough to be of use when it mattered. She would never be able to use her quirk to protect those she loved.

"PING!"

The sound of her phone woke up the green-haired woman from the memory trip. Once she pulled the device into her grasp, it only took her few finger strokes to finally set her eyes upon a new message from her beloved.

Me, 17:35:
"Izuku told me yet another person from his group has a quirk now.
He watched All Might ten times or so already."

My Dear Dragon, 21:07:
"Busy day, couldn't check the phone.
Will be home soon!."

She responded shortly and returned to the food that she had to prepare. Her thoughts still lingered on the past, but she smiled once more, even if her long lost dream still felt heavy upon her heart. As long as there were heroes to protect what was important to her, she was fine with her fate, even if her current job as a nurse wasn't as much about saving others as what she once expected.

It was late, most of Japan already asleep. There were some parts of it however that knew no rest, trains being one of the most oblivious examples. One such train was on its way to Musutafu, but very few people were actually on board. Among them was a man in a full dress suit, loosely hanging tie still on his neck. He seemed somewhat plain-looking, a mess of short black hair on his head and freckles dotting his cheeks being his most prominent characteristics. That man was currently slouched over his phone, his body finally relaxed after twelve hours of mental agony. There wasn't anyone close to him, so he felt comfortable enough to give the electronic screen his full, undivided attention.

Inko, 17:35:
"Izuku told me yet another person from his group has a quirk now.
He watched All Might ten times or so already."

Me, 21:07:
"Busy day, couldn't check the phone. Will be home soon!"

Inko, 21:10:
"Making your favorite food, we can talk after we eat.
Love you."

Hisashi couldn't help but chuckle. His wife was too good for him - making absurdly spicy food was something he never asked of her, not even once since they married, and yet here she was, offering him what he loved daily ever since they started living together. He couldn't put into words how much he was thankful for this, after all, hot dishes served by his beloved not only tasted great, they also kept his fire in good condition.

'Too bad my flames aren't needed. Not in the slightest...'

He already had a bad day at work, so he didn't even have the energy to stop himself from these dark thoughts. Instead, he decided to deal with it and embraced his regret, recalling times when he was still fighting against the odds. When he was younger, he got into UA after grueling years of burning his throat for the sake of training, his Fire Breathing proving to be hero-worthy. However, that wasn't enough, for Hisashi wanted to become UA's top student to prove his worth, both to himself and the rest of the world.

It took him two years to learn that this was impossible. One of his classmates was better than him in every way. This person's quirk was also fire-based and despite having a similar, if not the same temperature range as Fire Breathing, his wasn't restricted to a certain body part, making it straight up better than what Hisashi's quirk offered. Not only that, but Hisashi was worse than him in every other way as well - grades, physical strength, even in terms of popularity another fire user was simply superior. Every time they clashed during mock battles, Midoriya couldn't outsmart or outfight someone who was simply greater than him.

By the end of the second year, Hisashi's drive was all but gone. He resigned from UA, his pride and belief in himself turned to ash. He couldn't be a hero… or rather, there was no need for him to be a hero. After all, there was already someone better than him - the world would be fine without his help. After that, he tried his best to find something else he could excel at, to prove that he was still worth something. but for years his effort was for naught. When he met Inko and fell in love with her, he had to abandon his ambitions and find a stable and safe job, and so he became an office worker. It wasn't a good job, nor one he liked, but thanks to it he could provide for his family, and finally excel at something he nowadays cherished - being the best father and husband he could be.

Focusing on his family once more, Hisashi welcomed the warm feeling of happiness returning to his chest. Shadows of his failures return to him every day, but as long as he had his beautiful wife and his dear son, this would not matter. Burying his old regrets once more, he stood up from his seat, the train finally arriving at his destination

"Ahhh..." Small embers escaped Hisashi's mouth as he relaxed in his chair, plate in front of him empty while his stomach was filled with the warmth of food, causing felling of his own quirk to grow stronger as well.

"Glad you liked it" Inko spoke from across the table, her gentle smile as beautiful for her husband as on the day they first met. "Is your fire finally sated, or is there anything else it wants to devour?"

"This art piece of food was enough, thanks darling" His hunger dealt with, he could finally focus on matters more important than food. He looked in the direction of Izuku's room, his smile not as strong as before. "Is he…" Mr. Midoriya whispered, eyes still searching for a certain young boy that might eavesdrop on them by accident.

"Asleep? Yes, I made sure to tuck him to bed, so he shouldn't be able to hear any of this" Inko sighted as she started fidgeting with her thumbs, eyes pointed down, as she finally released all her worries. "I'm scared, Hisashi. He would be happy about any quirk, even something as simple as mine if his reaction to the quirks of others is anything to go by. But… His fourth birthday was over four months ago!"

"Dear…"

"I understand, it's very rare nowadays, but what if this happens anyway? His heart will break in half if his quirk doesn't awaken soon! Not to mention what other kids will do once they start noticing he's the only one without power"

"Inko, listen to me."

"I even checked online, Late quirk manifestations are so rare that it might as well be impossible, and Izuku is slowly reaching an age where that would be his only hope! Not only that but even if his quirk were to manifest later on, this still would leave him heartbroken until th…Eeeep!"

It took Hisashi only one precisely aimed breath to spew some fire and break his wife out of her ever-so-lovely mumbling. She wasn't scared by any means - it wasn't the first time he surprised her like that, his flames never more than quickly dissipating warmth, always far enough from her to avoid burning her

"Inko, you are worrying too much." The husband reached out across the table, his fingers grasping onto the trembling hands of his wife. "It will be alright, you understand me?" A half-hearted nod was all he got, and so he had to bring out big guns if he wanted to make sure Inko didn't worry her heart away. "How about this? Its Saturday tomorrow, we don't have work and Izuku doesn't have to go to kindergarten, so we're gonna get up early with our green bean and go straight up to the doctor, to see when we might expect quirk for All Might Junior"

She snorted, unable to stay serious after hearing Izuku's 'hero name'. Laughter followed soon after, and once that was done, she grasped his hands, her stare towards her loved one full of hope she previously couldn't find among the dark clouds of uncertainty.

"Yes, i like the sound of that. Izuku will shoot out of his bed once he hears where we will be going" Inko stood up, for it was getting late, and someone still had to wash dishes leftover from her cooking

"I'm already sorry for whoever will have to try to answer all his questions. The doctor might just straight up leave if he won't be ready for our bundle of joy." black-haired man also took off from his chair, ending up next to the sink, where his wife was already getting busy. "Let me help dear!" he announced, instantly stealing a wet plate from his beloved's grasp and using his fire, evaporating water from the surface of it. He was rewarded with Inko head finding support on his shoulder, and so they worked together, plates flying and fires burning, neither one of them bothered by what once was and what could be.

"I'm sorry, Mr. And Ms. Midoriya, but there's nothing i can do. Quirks are very… hard to predict, so despite confirming that Izuku will have a quirk, i'm sadly unable to tell you what it will be, nor when it might appear.." - young female voice spoke, slowly and gently, aware of what such words might do to people, especially children.

Izuku's eyes widened, disappointment visible in his eyes that just moments ago shined with endless excitement. The boy tried to hold his tears in, after all his father told him that while it's okay to cry, strong heroes try to not cry in public. And so he decided to latch onto the arm of his mother and hug her as a pretext for hiding his face. Inko, who was standing right next to the boy in the doctor's office, tried to comfort him, but there were no words she could think of that would make this verdict less cruel. Looking toward her husband, who stood calmly on the other side of Izuku, their eyes connected for a moment, and finally, Hisashi nodded in agreement, aware that he has to do something while his wife is busy giving comfort to the poor Izuku. His gaze returned towards the doctor they were with for the past fifteen minutes

"It's okay. Thank you for being sincere with us." Hisashi did his best not to sound ungrateful, even if he wasn't okay with how this visit was going so far. "Is there anything we should do or expect when waiting for Izuku's Quirk to awaken?"

"Beyond being there and supporting him? Not really" Spoke the woman in the doctor's coat, as she started to hide Izuku's x-ray - where the single toe joint of his pinky toe was clearly visible - into his patient's folder "Your Quirks are rather intuitive and simple to control, is that correct? So even if your son gains a stronger or slightly different version of one of your quirks, or some combination of them, it shouldn't be anything volatile or too hard for him." The doctor decides to not worry neither the parents nor the child they brought here with the possibility of a completely new quirk, unrelated to either of the parent's quirks, as this was a rare occurrence, one she considered too rare to actively warn her patients about.

The Midoriya family left the doctor's office and building where it resided soon after. As they went into the car, Hisashi took the driver's seat, while Inko sat in the back, with Izuku slowly bawling his eyes out in her arms.

"Shhh, baby, it's okay" Inko spoke softly, her own eyes shining in the sunlight as she was about to start her own waterworks.

"W-what if my Q-qurik won't come today? Or tomorrow? Or until i'm old? I want to p-play heroes with K-kaachan, a-and without quirk…"

"It will appear soon baby, and when it does it will be better than All Might's Quirk, i'm sure of it!" Inko said despite the waterfall of tears she started displaying, as her emotions finally overwhelmed her.

Hisashi, who didn't start the car yet, instead observed his wife and son, not believing just how much they can cry daily. He sighed, already dreading how much work it will take to dry out the back seats, and waited until Inko and Izuku calmed down before speaking to them.

"I agree with your mother Izuku, i feel it deep inside my gut that whatever you will bring out there will be the greatest quirk hero could ever have." Hisashi spoke with confidence, smile on his face brighter than that of All Might, or so it seemed for Izuku once tears no longer made everything blurry.

"R-really? You p-promise?"

"Of course." Promising something he had no control over was worth it for Hisashi once he saw how happy Izuku was, young eyes full of hope and wonder. "But remember Izuku, we will be proud of you, standing by your side and helping however we can, no matter what will happen or who you will decide to be. Okay?"

"Mhm!" Hisashi ruffled Izuku's hair, earning a few giggles out of the young boy.

In the meantime, Inko managed to keep herself together and avoid flooding the car.

"Okay, now since that's done, how about we relax a little with some shopping, ice cream, and chili peppers at the mall?" Proposed Inko, knowing exactly what to say to get her loved ones to focus on something else.

"Ice Cream!/Chilli peppers!" Shouted excited Izuku and Hisashi. The car started soon after and they slowly got moving towards their new destination.

"Boys…" sighed Inko, as she smiled at the prospect of indulging herself and spending some money on something nice to wear

It was a few days later, in the middle of the night, when Inko woke up to the sound of doors slamming open.

"What who?!" Inko looked around in a panic, her heartbeat going to record speeds in a matter of milliseconds. Beside moonlight illuminating the room through the window, and the ever-present snoring of Hisashi, she could see Izuku standing in the now open doorway to their bedroom, his hand trembling and face as if he just now saw something horrifying.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Shrieked Izuku, his voice shaky and full of panic as he ran towards his mom. He carelessly jumped onto the bed as if it was to disappear together with his parents. His knee managed to land in a spot that caused Hisashi to wake up with a high pitched girly scream. The man curled onto himself, clutching what he suspected were remains of his manly pride, while Izuku managed to crawl into his mother's embrace, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Izuku! Dear, what happened? Are you hurt? Something happened?" Inko panicked completely, seeing the distress of her beloved son. Izuku very often cried or got emotional, more than other kids his age, but this was different. It's as if he was traumatized, his body trembling as he cried and screamed in her arms.

"P-please don't...please don't leave me!" Begged a young boy between sobs, clutching onto his mom's pajamas with all the strength he could muster. Inko was mortified. Why did her boy say that? Did he have a nightmare? Or maybe it's something else?

"Izuku, why would we do that?" Spoke out Hisashi as the pain finally subsided, leaving him awake and aware enough to quickly comprehend what his son was saying. He slowly got closer, until he could hold both Izuku and Inko in his embrace. "Your mom isn't going anywhere, and neither am I, understood?"

"B-but… I felt so a-alone. I couldn't hear you, a-and you weren't there, a-and…" Izuku tried to speak further, but his sobs became more intense, making him unable to speak further.

"Oh baby, you had a nightmare?" Inko moved her head closer, and began whispering, motherly voice sweet as honey and delicate like single strands of silk, despite the fact that her. "It's okay my dear. Nightmares happen only in your head, they don't matter here. We are here, we will never leave you alone."

Hisashi did his best in order to calm down his son, making sure that Izuku felt his embrace. The Midoriya family stayed that way for a few minutes, tangled mess of arms and bunch teary eyes. It took a while before Izuku stopped crying, mostly due to lack of tears, as he still acted more like a scared fawn than his usual self.

Inko and Hisashi were looking at each other, silently deciding if Izuku should sleep with them or if he should go back to his room. However before they could decide, Izuku started mumbling, his voice too quiet for either of the parents to understand the exact words.

"Izuku, sweetie." Inko managed to catch the attention of the boy, his eyes looking up into her own pair. "Can you say it again? Is something else troubling you?"

"I...it wasn't n-nightmare."

"Izuku?" Hisashi did his best to not sound worried and failed. Miserably.

"I… i know it was real. You weren't there."

"As in your room Izuku?" Inko asked, not sure where her baby is going with this.

That's when Izuku, as if to prove his point, reached out with his tiny hand and grabbed Inko's hand, instead of holding onto her pajamas. Almost instantly Inko became aware of… Herself, or rather, something that was intended to represent her entire existence. If someone were to ask her "what is it", she would without hesitation respond 'This is Me and I am It'

More surprising than that is that she could faintly be aware of a similar Presence, one belonging to her son. Despite holding his hand, it was as if He was millions of lightyears away, so far that merely acknowledging His existence seemed more like a guess than a fact. Inko started crying, for she finally understood the full extend of Izuku's distress.

"Mom?" Izuku spoke weakly, not aware of what he did, and fact that his mother started crying was worrying to him.

"It's okay Izuku. I understand now. I can see it."

"Inko? Izuku?" Hisashi felt as if he missed something between Izuku grasping Inko's hand and Inko's bawling her eyes out.

In response, Inko looked at him for a moment, before looking back to her son and nodding visibly towards her husband. Izuku understood her after a moment, as he used his second hand to grasp onto Hisashi own. And just like before, Hisashi suddenly became aware of Himself and Presence on the edge of his awareness that he instantly identified as one belonging to his son.

Besides that, however, both Inko and Hisashi were now aware of Eachother. They were just as far apart as was the case with Izuku, and they both hated it. They despised this distance, whatever it was, whatever it represented. Even Hisashi seemed defenseless against the anguish this emptiness between them caused, and how his son apparently could feet it, and at the same time share this feeling with others.

"Wait a moment..." Hisashi took his hand away, and despite how heartbroken his son and Wife seemed at that, he had to do it. Vast emptiness between Them was overwhelming him, making him unable to think clearly. As soon as contact stopped, He and the Presence of his loved ones seemed like distant memories and nothing else. "Izuku… you got a Quirk! This… this is your quirk!"

That managed to break both Izuku and Inko out of the despair that was brought upon them with how lonely They were. Inko was simply dumbfounded, while the boy did a complete 180, his previous sadness completely obliterated with his ever so powerful enthusiasm towards quirks.

"I got a quirk!" Izuku shouted, throwing his hands into the air. This however meant that he no longer held his mom's hand, and the painful feeling of being so far apart started to gather inside of him. Thankfully newfound awareness that This was part of his quirk made it somewhat easier to withstand, as did the close physical presence of his parents. "But… what is it?"

Inko, now also freed from... whatever that was, managed to quickly dry his face with sleeves of her pajamas and tried to ponder on what Izuku just said. She was sure she understood it at least partially from her own experience - Izuku was aware of… Souls, or something she would consider to be a soul. He apparently could feel them - or rather lack thereof - since he woke up in the middle of the night, so it's constantly active. Also, he apparently can share his… awareness of Souls with others by holding hands with them. Is that it? Why are their Souls so far apart? Is it normal? Is there anything that could be done to interact with them? IfsothencanonlyIzukudosaidypotheticalinteractionorisitalsodoableforpeopleheshareshisawarnesswith…

Izuku watched his mom with a mix of awe, curiosity, and confusion, as he never saw his mother talk about quirks with such enthusiasm, and right now she was mumbling about his power so fast he could barely comprehend what she was talking about. At the same time, Hisashi stared at his wife with the biggest grin he could muster. It reminded him of their first year of the relationship when Inko mumbled all the time. Over the time she stomped this habit, mostly due to her shame, as it always ended up attracting someone's attention. For him, however, it was the cutest thing about Inko in his opinion, and something he sincerely missed. However, right now was not the time, and so with a very careful burst of flames, he brought Inko back to the world of the living.

"Eeeep! Hisashi, what was that for?!" Inko spoke, not amused that she was so forcibly pulled away from her thinking. In the meantime, Izuku made a face as if all might himself just stood before him since it wasn't often that his father used his quirk in front of him, and he always loved to see the flames.

"Dear, you were mumbling… For the first time in years may i add." The grin on Hisashi's face was legendary at that point, and once what he said reached Inko, her face turned into a nice shade of red, not unlike a ripe tomato. He would have celebrated that more, if not for the more important matters. "So… you have any idea what Izuku's quirk is about? I don't think All Might Junior will go asleep unless we find out all the details..." as if to prove it, he ruffled Izuku's hair, who responded without any delay and with a lot of energy, proving that he wasn't even close to feeling sleepy right now.

Inko stopped impersonating red street lights after a moment, and after a moment of intensive thinking, she silently started testing her theory. She firmly grabbed Hisashi's right hand into her left, and then offered her right towards Izuku.

"I don't know what his quirk is… but i have an idea that might bring us closer to the truth." She said with a confident smile that seemed contagious, as Hiashi and Izuku both had that very smile moments later.

"Okay mom, what do we do?" Izuku clearly couldn't wait for a second longer, his curiosity, and willingness to experiment with his quirk going off the charts.

"Hisashi, be so dear and offer your free hand to Izuku. Baby, once you feel ready, i want you to try something. Grab our hands, just like before."

And so they did - Hisashi would walk into fire with Inko, and Izuku trusted his mother, so neither of them questioned. Once Inko and Hisashi were affected by the boy's quirk, they were met once again with Themselves, or their Souls as Inko named these unreal presences.

"Okay Izuku, dear, i want you to reach out… no, i want you to imagine that you reach out towards our Souls and grab them."

"Souls? That sounds… fitting" commented Hisashi, while Izuku silently accepted the name his mother came up with. He tried and tried, but nothing happened, as Izuku seemed unable to do so.

"I can't mom… Did I do something wrong?"

"No, no dear, i expected that!" Inko spoke quickly, not wanting Izuku to blame himself for his own Quirk and it's… unusual behavior. "I want you now to imagine that there's are chains don't think about it too much, just accept that they are there… And now imagine that they connect your Soul to ours."

"I knew this sounded familiar!" Suddenly spoke Hisashi, his eyes directed towards Inko as revelation struck him suddenly. Izuku meanwhile closed his eyes, clearly focused on what his mother was telling him. "That sounds absurdly similar to how you described your quirk to me!"

"Yes Hisashi, I have a suspicion that his quirk might have something to do with mine, now hush, Izuku needs to concentrate if we want to see what happens." Inko's serious stare silenced her overly excited husband, so she could go back to focusing on helping her son discover the mysteries of his quirk. "Once you can visualize the chains, imagine grabbing them, and then… Pull."

And just like that, the world turned dark for the Midoriya family. The last thing each one of them could remember before losing consciousness was the distance between their souls shrinking in an instant until it was no more.

They have woken up to the phone alerts going off at the same time from Hisashi and Inko's phones. They had no dreams or nightmares, not even a single prophetic vision some would expect after such a surreal experience. Despite this, they knew what happened, or rather, something deep inside them was aware of what happened, and they were fine with that. They changed, but that was a good change, change for the better as some would say. They felt great, perfect even, as if this was how their life was always intended to be. Without even thinking about it, they felt their Souls, three representations of what they once were, now next to each other, as if stuck in an endless embrace. They could have pondered for all eternity the pure existential bliss of just… being like that, if not for the fact that it was morning, and they had to face reality.

Grrrrrrrrr!

And the reality was this - they were hungry.

{Mom, Dad, i'm hungry…}

[Hey Hungry, i'm Dad!]

{...}

(Hisashi, i swear, if i could slap you, I would slap you.)

[Hey, it wasn't that bad!]

(Yes it was.)

[oh, come on! Izuku, help daddy, mommy is wrong, right?]

{No, mom's right! It wasn't fun.}

[betrayed by my own son...]

(Okay, enough of this you two. We are all hungry… But first, let's get up)

{Can we test out my quirk more after we eat something?}

(We will see if there will be time for that my dear)

The bed creaked as the first movement happened. three pairs of eyes finally opened, looking towards the ceiling of the bedroom. Their head turned to the side, towards the still-beeping phones that needed to be silenced. Their arm moved, and as soon as it came into their field of vision, they stopped it in the air, gawking at curiosity in front of them.

It was as if their original arms melted, mixed, and then became solid again. Visible patches of their skins were easy to notice - Hisashi was very pale ever since he started working for the better part of the day, his skin hidden from the sunlight in the depths of office hell. Inko's skin had healthier color, but she also spent a lot of time indoors, either in the hospital during her shift or at home, preparing meals and doing other chores. Meanwhile, Izuku was a very active child, using every possible minute of sunlight whenever possible, and that made his skin darkest in the family, even if only barely.

Not only that, but the arm itself was… massive, but not in the way how All Might muscles made his arms big. Instead, it seemed as if there were too much flesh and bones underneath the skin, giving their arm a bloated appearance, like something one would expect from an old-school zombie movie.

(That's strange…)

{Hmm?}

[I think i know what you mean.]

{Mom? Dad?}

(Oh right, sorry dear. It's just that… there seems to be too much.)

{Too much? Of what?}

(How to say it simply… There's a certain rule that says that if something becomes bigger, it needs much more insides, and just a little more of outside)

{Oh? And why it is important?}

[We seem to have too many insides and not enough outside Izuku, somethings that shouldn't happen if we were to just… add our three bodies together.]

(We gained some extra mass somehow… and here goes my plan to keep my weight under control)

Inko and Hisashi tried to wonder on their own why they didn't seem… disgusted by this. They should have been, so said the knowledge they gathered in their lives. And yet, right now, they couldn't think of a more beautiful form than this, for this was physical proof of how close they were now. Izuku meanwhile didn't yet have enough experience in life to be aware that, according to social norms, he should be displeased with such bizarre amalgamation.

(Let's keep moving. After we eat something we can go to the mirror near the front doors and admire how we look.)

{But I want to test out my quirk! And what about your Quirks? Are they still here?}

[Your mom said we will test your quirk more once there is time, be patient Izuku, okay?]

{Okay…}

[… Say honey, who exactly is moving… us?]

(We all do, i guess?)

[huh… let's also set that aside for now.]

After finally getting back from their inner dialogue, they had silenced the phone alerts. Thankfully only a single press of the finger was required for each phone, as they had no idea how their massive, bloated digits would fare with more delicate maneuvers on the small touch screens. After that, it was only a matter of getting up from the bed, and once they did, everything seemed… smaller from their new perspective, and in the case of Izuku - much smaller.

(We are definitely big.)

[Maybe bigger than All Might.]

{No way! All Might is huuuuge! He's the biggest hero because he has the biggest heart!}

(Now that's something interesting. Where did you learn that?)

{We had a guest at kindergarten a week ago! It was a nice lady from Hero Safety Commission!}

[Didn't know they did guest visits like that.]

They started moving and soon discovered that they were not only big but slow as well, sluggish even. Clearly, their new body was not one build for speed, but that's only meant they had to be patient. Carefully squeezing past the still open doorway, they moved towards the kitchen, but once they were there, another problem arose.

(Do we trust ourselves in making something? As far as we know, everything we do, we do together, so that possibly means that we all need to know how to do something)

{I'm not allowed to hold a knife mom, remember?}

[And i'm not allowed to prepare any food that requires heating after that popcorn incident]

(... There should be something ready to eat in the fridge)

And so they scoured the fridge, and finally decided upon some corn flakes - ones that Hisashi bought when there Inko was working overtime due to an especially nasty villain attack, making her unable to make breakfasts at the time - with some milk. Eating went almost without issues if we ignore the fact that all three of them had different ideas of how fast they have to eat them, causing some milk and cereal to fly in random directions as their hands shook due to internal conflict. Of course, the fact that the spoon seemed hilariously tiny in their almost inhuman hands didn't help at all with this issue.

When they ate enough to calm their stomach - or rather stomachs - they moved towards the mirror. It wasn't a full-body mirror, as it used to show everything above the waistline, but they had managed to use it to learn everything they could about how they were on the outside.

First of all - they were naked.

Second of all - That wasn't as much of a problem anymore, as their private parts weren't there, nor were Inko's endowments present anywhere on their body. It's as if they were looking at a very fleshy, very grotesque doll.

A doll that still had… waste disposal parts.

(Now that i think about it, where are our pajamas? And weren't i and Hisashi covered partially in bedsheets?)

{I didn't see them on the bed... Did they disappear because of my Quirk?}

[Guess we found out where that extra mass came from.]

Besides that, they were rather standard, at least when compared to horror monsters, not actual humans. They were indeed big - big enough to impress the average adult, but still possibly smaller than mountains of muscles like All Might or Endeavour, so at least doorways wouldn't become their mortal enemies anytime soon. Besides that, they looked… fat. Not due to actual fat from what they understood, but due to a recently discussed overabundance of their insides making their form bloated.

Their patchy skin seemed uniform from afar, but the closer they looked, the more details unique for each skin type could be visible, pointing out their origins. Where two different types of skin connected, scar-like tissue was barely noticeable and possibly responsible for holding them together. Beyond that, everything below their neck still had at least semblance of standard human anatomy - two legs, two arms, torso, and waist, everything with somewhat correct, but still uncanny proportions.

Their big head, however? It was nothing short of breathtaking, for various reasons. Three pairs of eyes - their eyes - stared back at them. Young green eyes of Izuku, full of curiosity, Inko's beautiful emerald orbs and finally easily noticeable dark circles under Hisashi's brown eyes, they were all here, and behaved independently from each other, being directly controlled by the adequate consciousness they belonged to. Eyes themselves are not symmetric nor placed with care about relative distances - instead, they are placed as if someone just threw them in there in equivalent artistic chaos.

Their gigantic mouth was filled to a brim with teeth, and could possibly fit something big, like a watermelon… or someone's head. Moving on, they had one nose, big, average, slightly deformed, but the single nose, and rather plain pair of ears if they had to be honest. Their hair seemed to be a rather pleasant looking mix of their hairstyles and hair colors - They had a long, curly mess of green hair, with numerous dark green and black streaks running through it.

(We look very good I would say.)

[I'm sure that other people would run away from us, but to be honest, yes, i can agree with you, honey.]

{That means we could scare villains away if we ever become heroes together! Can we go test my Quirk now? Pleeeease!}

(We will, i already promised you, but before that, it would be a good idea to take a shower and see if there aren't some clothing options for our body type.)

[If we won't find anything, we might have to contact Mitsuki and Masaru. They should be able to get us anything we will need if we ask nicely]

{...Can we still talk, being together like that?}

(Let me try alone first)

Inko tried and failed, as their mouth didn't make a single sound.

(well, that went nowhere. Let's try together now since i guess it's the same deal as with moving)

[what shall we say?]

{I know what!}

They forced the biggest smile they could muster onto their monstrous mouth and spoke.

"NEVER FEAR, WHY? FOR WE ARE HERE!"

If their looks were uncanny, their voice was straight-up terrifying. Three different voices speaking in creepy unison, with each word much louder and much deeper than what they intended.

{That was… Awesome!}

(Let's not speak to anyone without warning, unless we want to give someone a heart attack.)

[Fair enough.]

After that, they finally decided it was time for a shower, and despite clear problems with lack of space, they somehow managed to do it in a somewhat reasonable time. However, when it came time to search for clothes, they could find nothing that would even remotely fit without strangling them in one way or another.

(Okay, we have to call Mitsuki and get ourselves some clothes.)

[Honey, aren't we forgetting about something?]

(To be honest? i also had that feeling, but everything else seemed more important)

{...Aren't i late for kindergarden?}

It was then, when Izuku asked his pretty simple question, that it hit them. All this time since waking up they were focused on their changes, so much so that they completely ignored ramifications of such changes, including few very, very important aspects...

(We forgot about work!)

[How could we even go to work like that?!]

(I don't know!)

{I'm s-sorry! It's my fault! If i didn't use my quirk...}

(No no, Izuku dear, it's not your fault! It's just…)

[We will deal with this somehow, don't you worry about it.]

{O-okay…. But w-will i be able to p-play with Kaachan like that?}

(yes sweetie, but… not today i think. We have to go to a doctor to register your quirk.)

[And possibly more than a few lawyers to sort out our current situation.]

(We need to call Mitsuki first. I have a feeling we will need her… harsh way of dealing with people.)

{Why? A-auntie can help us?}

(Let's just say that she knows how to make people agree with her, and that's something we will desperately need to get through this mess.)

And so they went back to their phones, where they struggled for minutes before correctly selecting Mitsuki's number from contact's list. As they looked at the 'call' option, anxiety made itself known in their hearts. What if things will get worse once they try to sort out their current situation? There was only one way to find out, so they pressed the touchscreen and waited for Mitsuki Bakugo to pick up her phone...
