Can magic solve everything?

Chapter 1

Zatanna Zatara was a young woman in her mid-twenties but she had seen and done so much more than her young age more so than people decades older than she would ever do or see even if they were the most veteran soldiers in existence.

That was because Zatanna was not your normal twentysomething young woman no, in fact, she was a second-generation superhero as the daughter of Zatara, the current host of Doctor Fate.

Not only was she a former member of the legendary Team whose members consisted of former sidekicks that one day became their own heroes and creating their own personality separate from those of their mentors. But now she was also a member of the Justice League like she had always dreamed she would be a position she was the proudest of and hoped her father would also be proud.

Her life was good so far better than she had expected when she was younger and was afraid people would look down on her because of her powers. She had amazing friends who were like a family to her, so even if her father was possessed by another hero she still had a good family with her she still had her father transmitting messages to her from time to time, Zatanna also had something that not many people in her business had and that was that she was in a very stable relationship with someone outside of the hero group.

Her boyfriend with whom she had been dating since she was in high school was named Joshua 'Josh' Maxwell he was a few years older than Zatanna herself but he didn't look down of her because of her age and never had, he was also very smart knew of the fact she was a superhero and didn't mind at all even supported her. He was just the perfect guy for her.

Josh was 5 ft 3 so he was slightly shorter than most males his age but he compensated for it with the aura he reflected on a daily basis. He was the kind of person that demanded the others respect her friends often joked that that was his superpower.

Josh had light brown hair that he liked keeping it slightly longer than most and bright Hazel eyes filled with intelligence. He was slightly feminine with a slim body combined with an hourglass figure, and wide hips and when he was younger he looked so much like a girl than people often confused him for one thought that part had come in handy when he helped them with undercover missions impersonating a woman despite not being part of the Justice League or a hero at all he just wanted to help and did whenever he could.

As she said Zatanna was lucky to have him.

His personality was too a bit like a girl sometimes too which helped him even more under-covered he was shy until he knew you better, very caring about everything that breathed, girly honestly, he had better taste than she and her friends combined, extremely honest so much so that she didn't know how he was able to work undercover and very feminine sometimes but that didn't make him any less of a man.

Zatanna considered herself very lucky to have found him he supported her in everything she did, didn't mind that she was stronger than him something that even some superheroes minded from time to time through they would deny it. He also didn't mind the fact that she didn't want to get married and he didn't even ask for her reason for it he just agreed and supported her.

All in all, Zatanna Zatara was a very lucky young woman or so she thought until the news she got today the worse news since the day her father decided to become Dr. Fate permanent host to save her.

She couldn't have children.
