Note: Hey everyone, this is Latias425 here and with today marking the 20th anniversary of Golden Sun, I am here with a special crossover fic.

So, Golden Sun and Digimon. Bet that's a crossover you guys weren't expecting, but ever since I've started playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, I've gotten ideas on what Digimon partners the Golden Sun gang would have, and so this story was created. While this is largely inspired by Digimon Adventure, it will be different in most aspects such as the partner Digimon lineup and the main villains. And just so you know, this story takes place in the Adepts of the Modern Age universe.

Digi-Sun Adventure

Chapter 1: And So It Begins

In a typical modern world, in a typical suburban neighbourhood stood a mansion that was home to a certain group of individuals. A group that lived a not-so-normal life together as they were always getting into weird and crazy shenanigans and misadventures, and this story would prove to be one of, if not their greatest adventure yet, one where they were chosen to save both the real and digital worlds.

It all started one summer day when a heavy rainstorm hit, leaving the eight housemates stuck inside their home.

"Man, this sucks." grumbled Isaac, who was sitting on the living room couch with his friends Garet and Jenna. "The forecast didn't say it was supposed to rain today. Well, at least we got the TV to keep us entertained." He pressed the power button on the remote to turn on the TV, but for some reason, it wouldn't. "Huh?" He tried a few more times, but it still wasn't working. "Come on, why isn't it working?"

"Maybe the batteries ran out of juice." Jenna guessed.

"But I swear we just put new batteries in this thing." Isaac pressed the power button once again, and this time the TV finally turned on, but the screen was all messed up. "What the heck?" He pressed multiple buttons, but the screen continued to glitch out. "Hey Piers, I think the TV's broken!"

"Here, I'll fix it." Garet said, getting behind the set and banging on it.

"No, don't do that, Garet! You're just gonna break it even more!" Jenna shouted.

"What's going on?" asked Piers as he and the rest of the housemates came over.

"The TV's glitching or something." Isaac answered as the TV screen turned a bright blue, and then the group watched as eight orbs of light shot out from it and stopped in front of each of them, and they all grabbed the light orbs as they materialized into some device with a screen and buttons on the sides.

"The hell is this?" Felix asked as they all stared at these strange new devices, and then the TV screen shone even brighter as a portal formed from it, and the housemates all quickly grabbed onto the nearest piece of furniture as it was trying to pull them in.

"Guys, what's happening?!" Ivan asked fearfully, holding onto the stair railing for dear life.

"I don't know!" Isaac exclaimed, and soon he couldn't keep his grip on the couch and was sucked into the TV.

"Isaac!" Garet shouted upon seeing his best friend disappear into the void, and the portal's pull got stronger and soon he was next to follow.

After Garet was sucked in, the rest still tried their best to hold on, but the pull was too strong and soon they were all sucked into the portal, and once they were gone, it disappeared and the TV turned off, leaving the house empty and quiet.

"Isaac? Isaac, can you hear me? Come on, Isaac, wake up!"

Isaac groaned as he slowly opened his eyes, only to be greeted by a strange blue and white creature with large red eyes standing on his chest and staring right at him.

"Oh finally, you're awake!" it exclaimed. "Took you so long, I thought I was gonna doze off myself."

Isaac blinked a few times to process what he was looking at, and then screamed as he quickly sat up and backed away from the creature. "Stay back, you...you beast!"

"Hey, hey, don't freak out, I'm your friend. I'm not gonna hurt you, honest."

Seeing the little guy meant him no harm, Isaac relaxed a little, but was still confused as to what this...thing was. "Who...Who are you? What are you?"

"To answer your question, my name is DemiVeemon, and I'm a Digimon."

"A...Digimon?" Isaac questioned, never having heard of such a thing.

"Yep. It's short for digital monster, and I'm so glad that you're finally here, Isaac!" said DemiVeemon excitedly.

"Uh...here for what? And how do you know my name?"

"Because we're partners, Isaac, and I've been waiting a very long time for you."

"Riiight." Isaac replied, standing up and looking around, seeing that they were surrounded by trees. "So...where are we, exactly?"

"We're in the Native Forest on File Island."

Isaac wondered how on earth he ended up in a forest, and then he remembered the TV acting up and him getting sucked into a strange portal, and his friends were all there when it happened, which meant they must have... "Oh, no."

"What is it, Isaac?"

Isaac looked down at his partner. "DemiVeemon, did you happen to see anyone else around here?"

"Hmm...now that you mention it, I think I did see some other humans land nearby."

"Yes, my friends! That has to be them."

"Well, in that case, I'll help you look for them." DemiVeemon offered, and the two began walking through the forest to find the other housemates.

"Garet, Jenna, Felix, any of you guys here?!" Isaac called out, looking around for any signs of the others, but so far no luck. "Oh, where could they be?" He continued walking until he ended up bumping into someone, and that someone happened to be a certain redhead. "Garet, you're okay!" Isaac exclaimed, relieved to see his bestie.

"Oh Isaac, there you are! I've been looking everywhere for you!" Garet sighed, relieved as well. "So...you have any idea where the heck we are right now?"

"Nope." Isaac answered, shaking his head before noticing something. "Uh...Garet, I think you got something in your hair."

Garet reached into his hair and pulled out a round pink creature with red eyes and long ears. "Oh yeah, when I woke up, this...thing was talking to me and he somehow knew my name."

"Nice to meet ya, friend of Garet! I'm Koromon." greeted the little round guy.

"So you've got one of those Digimon too, huh?"

"Digimon? Is that what they're called?" Garet asked, seeing that Isaac also had a little monster with him. "So is it just us two in this forest?"

"No, can't be. If we're here, then the others should be here too."

"Right, right. Where do you think they are?"

"Isaac, Garet, is that you guys?" asked a female voice, and the two turned to see Ivan and Mia stepping into the clearing, both with a Digimon of their own in their arms. Ivan's was a creature that resembled a bird chick and Mia's was light purple and shaped like a water droplet.

"Ivan, Mia, there you guys are!" Garet said. "Well, that gives us less people to find."

"And you got partners too." Isaac noted.

"Yes, her name's Moonmon." Mia replied.

"And mine's Pinamon." Ivan added. "So, do any of you guys know where we are?"

"Well, my partner told me that we're in the Native Forest on File Island, wherever that is." Isaac answered.

"Are we even on Earth anymore?" Garet asked. "I mean, if I remember correctly, we got sucked into our TV, so did it take us to some weird alternate dimension or something?"

"Yes indeed, you are all currently in the Digital World." answered Moonmon.

"The Digital World, huh? Well, do any of you Digimon have any clue as to why we were brought here?" Isaac asked.

DemiVeemon shook his head. "Sorry Isaac, I'm afraid we don't know the exact reason, but we know it's very important."

"Guys, I think I see them!" came another familiar voice, and running into the clearing was Jenna, Sheba, and Piers, and sure enough, they each had a partner, Jenna's being a pink bud with a blue flower that stood beside her, Sheba's a yellow fox that she held in her arms, and Piers' a brown seal-like creature with an orange tuft that rested on his shoulder.

"Hey, there you guys are!" Garet exclaimed, and then noticed their Digimon. "And there's more of those monsters?"

"Oh yeah, we should introduce you to the rest of the group. This is Yokomon, Viximon, and Bukamon." DemiVeemon replied, referring to the flower, fox, and seal respectively.

"And we're your Digimon friends!" Bukamon added with a wide smile.

"So it looks like we're all here." Piers said, except not as they were still missing someone. "Wait, where's Felix?"

Just then, the group heard grumbling and stomping out from behind a group of nearby bushes was Felix. Behind him was a small green larva creature with its body wrapped in a cocoon, desperately trying to keep up. "Felix, w-wait up."

Felix groaned. "Ugh, why do you keep following me?!"

"B-Because I'm your partner, Felix. W-We're supposed to stick together."

"Well, I already told you this once and I'll say it again, make like a tree and buzz off!" Felix snapped, continuing to stomp off and eventually running into the others. "Oh great, you're all stuck here too."

"There you are, Felix." Isaac said. "You look pretty steamed."

"Yeah, like a vegetable, only smarter." added Garet.

"Damn right I'm steamed! I wake up in the middle of nowhere and then this little pest starts following me around everywhere!"

"I-I would prefer that you don't call me a pest. I-I'm Minomon, by the way." Felix's partner introduced himself, his timid nature really clashing.

"Okay, now that we're all here," Felix spoke calmly, and then angrily, "can someone tell me where the hell we are and what the hell is going on?!"

"Well, our partners have told us that we're currently in-" began Piers when there was a roar from somewhere, making everyone freeze.

"Uh...what was that?" Ivan asked.

Sheba looked up and noticed something in the sky. "Guys, look up."

Everyone did so and saw a winged serpent flying overhead, and it quickly noticed them and roared as it dove down towards them. "What the hell is that?!" Felix exclaimed.

"Th-That's an Airdramon," answered Minomon, "and it doesn't look very friendly!" Sure enough, it was proven to be true as the serpent flapped its wings and shot blades of air at the group, forcing everyone to take cover.

"Great, we haven't even been here for five minutes and already we're getting attacked." Felix grumbled.

"So what do we do? Do we have to fight that thing?" Isaac asked.

"Not sure if we can. Airdramon's a Champion level Digimon, and even with our combined strength, we'd still be no match for it." explained DemiVeemon.

"So it looks like we'll just have to resort to plan B." Garet said.

"And that is?" questioned his partner.

"RUN!" The group all started to make a run for it, the Airdramon noticing them trying to escape and roaring as it began to chase after them.

"H-Hey, w-wait for me!" called out Minomon, who was severely lagging behind. The Airdramon was coming fast and fired more blades of air at the poor little larva. "F-Felix, HELP!"

Felix looked behind and saw his partner in danger. "Oh, for god's sake." he muttered under his breath, turning around and running back to go help him out.

Jenna stopped and saw her brother heading in the opposite direction. "Bro, what are you doing?!"

Felix didn't have time to answer as he ran to Minomon while the Airdramon was swooping down with its mouth open wide, quickly scooping the little bug in his arms and rolling out of the way right before the serpent could snag both of them with its jaws.

Minomon quivered upon feeling someone grab him, slowly opening his eyes to find himself safe in his partner's arms. "Y-You saved me. Th-Thank-"

"Don't thank me. If I really am stuck with you, it's the very least I can do." There was another roar as the Airdramon swooped back down in front of the two.

"Felix!" Jenna shouted, and Yokomon decided to try and help her brother out by jumping out of her partner's arms and blowing a barrage of pink bubbles at the Airdramon, making it turn its attention to them.

"You leave them alone!" Yokomon demanded, shooting bubbles at the serpent again, this time right at its face. It cried out as the acidic bubbles got in its eyes, and that gave Jenna time to run over to Felix and help him back on his feet and take off to try and catch up with the others.

The Airdramon recovered and saw the two trying to get away and shot more blades of air at a nearby tree, making it fall over and crash in front of them.

The others stopped running and saw the two siblings in peril. "Jenna! Felix!" Isaac exclaimed.

Seeing his partner in distress, DemiVeemon decided to step up. "We gotta help them!"

"But you said it yourself. We don't stand a chance against that thing!" Garet pointed out.

"Maybe not, but we have to try!" DemiVeemon proclaimed, charging towards the Airdramon. "Hey Skullface, take this!" With a mighty yell, he leapt forward to give the serpent a headbutt, but he simply bounced off and skidded on his back in front of the group, who all just stared blankly. "Well, that could've gone better."

The Airdramon roared loudly and flapped its wings wildly, creating a very strong gust of wind that had everyone barely able to hold on and knocked down the nearby trees, leaving them with no way to escape.

Seeing as they were in a very tight spot, the housemates were getting very worried, but the Digimon decided they weren't going to back down as they all leapt out of their partners' arms.

"Guys, what are you doing?!" Isaac asked.

"We can't keep running anymore. Now it's time that we fight!" declared Koromon.

"Are you crazy?! You're all gonna get yourselves killed!" Garet exclaimed with everyone else yelling out in concern for their partners.

"Don't worry, guys. As long as we're together, we can pull through!" DemiVeemon proclaimed, and then the gang's devices started vibrating, and they took them out as a beam of light shot out from each of them and all eight Digimon were enveloped in that light, the housemates watching in awe as they underwent a transformation.

"DemiVeemon digivolve to...Veemon!"

"Koromon digivolve to...Agumon!"

"Pinamon digivolve to...Falcomon!"

"Moonmon digivolve to...Lunamon!"

"M-Minomon digivolve to...Wormmon!"

"Yokomon digivolve to...Biyomon!"

"Viximon digivolve to...Renamon!"

"Bukamon digivolve to...Gomamon!"

The evolved monsters all stood ready to fight while the humans awed at their new forms. "Oh yeah, now this is what I'm talking about!" Garet grinned, seeing his partner was now an orange dinosaur.

Mia's partner, now named Lunamon, looked at her comrades. "Eight Rookies against one Champion. I think we can manage this."

"It's about to attack, get ready!" Veemon warned the group, and the Airdramon roared as it flapped its wings to unleash a tornado towards the group.

"I'll handle this. Wind Blade!" exclaimed Ivan's partner, firing blades of air from his claws at the tornado, dispelling it and giving the others a chance to attack.

"Diamond Storm!" shouted Renamon, who jumped up and unleashed a storm of sharp leaves at the Airdramon while Gomamon leapt off her and slashed it with his claws.

Felix looked at his partner, who was just standing there idly. "Why are you standing there? Do something!"

"O-Oh, right. S-Sticky Net!" Wormmon shot a thread of silk from his mouth that stuck to the Airdramon's wings and left it struggling to stay in the air.

"Now's our chance. Diamond Storm!" Renamon began, using her signature attack.

"Spiral Twister!" Biyomon flapped her wings to create a spiral of green fire.

"Tear Shot!" called Lunamon, an orb of water forming from her antenna and she fired it.

"Pepper Breath!" Agumon shouted as he shot a large fireball from his mouth.

"Ninja Blade!" exclaimed Falcomon, tossing a barrage of throwing stars.

The Airdramon cried out as those attacks hit, the other Digimon moved aside so that Veemon could deal the last blow. "Alright, let's finish this!" He began charging forward and with a shout of, "Vee Headbutt!" he leapt forward and delivered a strong headbutt that sent the serpent flying towards a tree, knocking it out as it fell to the ground.

"We...We did it!" Isaac laughed. "We actually did it!"

Veemon turned to his partner and smiled. "See, told ya we could do it!"

"Wow, you guys were amazing!" Garet praised. "But now you all look so different."

"It's because we digivolved, and when we digivolve, we gain a new form and grow in power." explained. "We also change names when we change forms. For instance, I was Moonmon, but now I am Lunamon."

"So I assume you're not DemiVeemon anymore, huh?" Isaac asked his partner.

Veemon nodded. "Yep, I'm Veemon now."

Ivan took out his new device. "And what about these things?"

"Oh, those are your Digivices." Falcomon answered.

"We don't know what they are for exactly, but it's essential that you all hold onto them." Renamon added.

"So...now what?" Garet asked after a moment of silence.

"Well, I think we should focus on getting out of this forest before that serpent decides to attack us again." Isaac replied, glancing at the unconscious Airdramon.

"Yeah, but we don't know where we are or where to go." Jenna pointed out.

"We know our way around here." Biyomon spoke up with the other Digimon nodding.

"Well, would you all mind showing us the way out of here?" Piers asked.

Gomamon smiled. "Of course, we're your partners! Now follow us."

And so the Digimon took the lead as the group started to make their way through the forest, and as they did, the housemates couldn't help but wonder about the current situation. Surely there had to be a reason for them to be here in this Digital World, and they hoped they would find the answer soon.
