"Shino you're a goddamn idiot if you seriously think AOT had a good ending."

"It was brilliant."

Hinata ignores her friends, continuing to doodle on the paper behind the register. The store is empty with the exception of them.

Kiba slams his hand on the counter, causing Hinata to jump.

"You're just saying this to piss me off."

"My opinion pisses you off?" Shino scoffs. "Ymir Fritz is the main character of Attack on Titan not Eren, if you didn't get that by reading then you're stupider than I thought."

There's a knock on the front door that Kiba and Shino don't hear, too busy yelling at each other. Hinata walks to the door, confused as to why someone would knock on a manga store door. She opens the door, her head peeking out as she uses her foot to keep it open.

"Hey!"

Hinata freezes at the sight of her new neighbor. There's a difference between staring at him from across the street for a week, and having him smiling down at her. She adjusts the thick rimmed glasses on her face.

"H-hello?" Is it a question?

"I'm Naruto, I own the tattoo parlor across the street." His tattooed arm flexes as he points behind himself, leaning on the door frame.

"Oh."

His smile doesn't falter.

"I just wanted to introduce myself. Y'know, since we're neighbors."

She stares up at him, wondering if the whiskers on his cheeks are tattoos, and if the gauge piercing he has hurt when he got it done.

His lips continue to move, but she's more focused on his physique. The black tee he has on hangs off his body, not too fitted and not too loose. She figures he has to work out judging from his muscles. He wipes sweat off his brow, and she notices just how large his hand is. Veins pop out, and-

"Are you enjoying the view?" He's smiling at her.

Her eyes widen, and she turns a deep shade of red.

"You can keep on staring at me, I don't mind it." He winks and she thinks she'll die.

"I um…I'm s-sorry." She bows, hanging her head down. She feels fingers lift her chin up.

"Don't apologize. I get it a lot."

She awkwardly nods.

"I don't."

His brows furrow before he starts laughing.

"Well you should. You're really-"

"Naruto!!" Hinata looks behind the blonde, to see a pink haired woman pointing at the shop titled HexenHaus Tattoo Studio. "Quit flirting with that poor girl and help! The truck is coming in!"

Hinata touches her cheeks, feeling them warm underneath her palm.

"What was your name?"

"Um..it's Hinata."

He smiles. "It was nice to meet you Hinata." She awkwardly smiles as he walks away. He suddenly turns around in the middle of the street. "And if you ever want a tattoo or something I'd do it! Free of charge."

She nods, waving at him. She doesn't walk back into the shop until he's gone for good. When she steps in, she puts her head in her hands and lets out a shriek.

Kiba starts laughing, reminding her that her friends are still in the room. Now she's even more embarrassed.

"He was attractive." Shino teases.

"Yeah he was, and you fucked it up." Kiba slaps her back, pushing her forward.

"I-"

"You forgot to give him your name!" She doesn't find it as funny as the brunette does.

"He has it now." She mutters.

"It's okay Hinata. There's always next time."

"Next time for what?" She looks at Shino, who's hiding in his hoodie.

"To get his attention."

Kiba scoffs. "She doesn't need his attention."

"We're not eligible bachelors Kiba. She needs a boyfriend."

"Did you see that guy? You want him to be her boyfriend?"

"Hinata likes him."

They're too far into their second argument of the day, so she's sure they forgot she was in the room.

"We-we just met today…"

"You've been staring at him for a week. We all know you're interested."

"No, we all don't know. You like him, Hinata?"

Put on the spot, she stares between Kiba and Shino.

"U-um, well he has pretty eyes. And I l-like his personality. Even though we just met…he seems very kind…" She pushes her glasses up.

"That's a yes."

"No, that's a 'he's the most attractive guy I've seen in a while.' That doesn't mean he's boyfriend material!"

"Kiba just let her be happy."

The brunette huffs. "He looks like he'll break your heart. He looks like a player." She goes back behind the counter. "And I don't think he'll be interested in you-" Shino slaps a hand over Kiba's mouth.

She ignores her friends, who begin to mumble at each other again.

Almost all Mondays were slow for Hinata. She took the day to unpack boxes and organize the shelves. She's lifting an unopened box when the door opens.

"I'll be right with you!"

"Guess who it is?"

At the sound of his voice, she slips on a piece of plastic, and books spill out the box onto her upper body. The spine of a romance shoujo scratches her chin.

"Oh shit! Are you okay?" Naruto runs up to help her.

"I'm fine…" She doesn't try to sit up, assuming if she stops moving he'll go away.

He's putting books that are on her back into the box, causing her to blush.

"You're really clumsy." He lifts his hand out and she reluctantly grabs it.

"Y-yes, I am sometimes. I'm sorry." She wishes she wore something else, besides the sweatpants and flannel she has on. Her hair is tied in a bun, messy with strands popping out.

"Don't apologize to me." He laughs.

She walks to the front of the store, him following behind her.

"Is there something I could help you with?"

"Uh, no I don't read…these."

She bites her lip.

"Oh…"

"I just wanted to talk to you." He smiles. She looks down, her cheeks tinted.

"Really?"

"Yeah! Y'know, you seem-"

He leans his head closer to hers, looking down at the drawing on the counter.

"What's this? You draw?"

Oh no.

He picks up the sketch of her newest character. One that has black hair and three whisker marks on his cheek.

Oh no.

"Damn, you're really talented. Is this your character or something?"

"Y-yes, it's you." She smiles, then realizes what she said. Internally slapping herself, she begins to shake her head.

"I-I mean, it's not you. It was just in-inspired. By your little whiskers. Um…I didn't draw you. I'm sorry."

He's staring at her with his lips parted, confused by her statements.

"I've never heard someone call them little whiskers. You make them sound cute."

"Th-they are." Shut up, she tries to tell herself.

He smiles. "I'm glad I inspired a character. Especially for someone so talented -ttebayo."

"Would you…like to have it?" She blinks her eyes, looking at him with embarrassment. Maybe he doesn't even like it. Maybe he was just saying that to be nice. Maybe-

"Really?! Wow, I'd love it!" He looks at it again. "I was gonna ask for it, but I figured it was the only one."

"Well, it is…but I can always draw it again. I-I remember your face."

He smiles, leaning on the counter.

"Yeah?"

"I…I would actually like…" She doesn't know why she's spilling her business, but she figures telling her crush everything about her would get him to like her. She'd never been good with men.

"I would like to draw for a living. And make a manga."

"Really? That's really cool!"

She smiles, wiping her sweaty palms on her pants.

"I like drawing too, I-"

His phone suddenly rings, and he slides it out of his pocket. He looks at the ringer with a frown on his face.

"I'll come back later, pretty girl. Thanks for this." He lifts the paper up, waving before walking out of her store.

She stands behind the register with a deep blush because he called her pretty and he liked her drawing.
