I was born into a world of Light and Dark. I was in a war I didn't even knew existed but nevertheless I lived a simple life. I had loving parents and a cute little sister. I was even one of the Golden Age's top scientists. I knew I was born into this world for a greater purpose. What that purpose is I didn't know? I still don't know today. But I knew I wanted to help people and make life easier for them. I knew I wanted to be a hero. So I started to expand my horizons more and go out into far distant places to seek the knowledge I needed to begin my studies. But with obtaining great knowledge comes great consequences. I won't scare you this early on but I can tell you that my death was not a pretty one.

Crota, Son of Oryx and Eater of Hope. He came into my home and took the one thing that made it a home. I watched as I saw him cut down my parents and my little sister before turning his attention towards me. I thought that all hope was lost. That I would never get my moment to shine until one day hope came flying in my life when I was suddenly resurrected.

It was my Ghost that found me. He told me I was blessed by the Traveler's Light to be a Guardian. I was reborn to be a Hunter. It was all so new at the time. I didn't understand any of it. I'm still trying to figure it out as I go along. But what was odd about me is that I was reborn with all my memories of my past life intact. I remembered everything still. When Guardians are reborn they lose all memories of their past life. They begin anew but not me and that's what I'm still trying to figure out. Was there a reason why the Traveler let me have my memories? Or was it just a messed up resurrection?

Normally, most Guardians would also go to the Tower in the Last City to start their duties but I'm not like most Guardians. I flew out to the only family I had left. Mara and Uldren Sov. They're my aunt and uncle from my mother's side. My aunt ruled the Reef as queen of the Awoken alongside my brother who served as a prince. Together they ruled the Awoken with a fair and just hand.

When I came to the Reef and explained to them what happened I was met with mixed feelings. My aunt was more than welcome to extend her hand to me and accept me even though I was a Guardian and an Earthborn Awoken. However my uncle didn't really see me as family. He sought to use me as weapon for the Awoken but I knew that was not my path to take. That was never my destiny.

Immediately I was crowned Princess of the Reef and next in line to the throne. My aunt loved me like none other. It was like having a second mother almost. I stayed in the Reef resting, studying, and training until I was ready to go back to Earth and start my duties as a Guardian.

I still remember the last day I had with my aunt. She led me to her chambers where I was once again in her embrace.

"I don't think I'm ready to do this. I still don't understand my role in this world. Maybe it's best if I stay here with you." I said. "Everyone has a part to play in this world. Even down to the smallest insect. You'll figure it out. I know you will and when you do you'll guide our people to salvation. You'll be viewed as hero." My aunt's comforting words normally soothe my anxiety but not this time. I was so nervous about me leaving the Reef and going to the Last City. I wasn't even sure if I was meant to be a Guardian.

"Come. I have a gift for you." My aunt retrieved a small wooden box from one of the drawers and when she opened it there was a small, blue crystal necklace. The crystal was glowing and I felt its warm energy as my aunt placed it around my neck. "I had my Techeuns cast a spell on it. Inside this crystal is a fraction of my life force. With it you'll always know that I'll always be with you even in the darkest of times." I failed to hold back my tears as I gazed at the gift my aunt bestowed onto me.

I was taken back in her embrace and I relished this moment down to the last second. "You'll always be my little princess." She said. With that last gift and those sweet words we parted ways. I was on my way to the Last City and was sort of kind of ready to start my new journey as a Guardian.

My name is Nahra Jehn, Princess of the Reef and this is the story of how I became one of the greatest Guardians to ever live.
