United through their pure hearts and their destinies to protect their worlds, the forces that ensured darkness would never corrupt the Digital World, the Digidestined, the Digimon Tamers, the Legendary Warriors, The DATS and the combined forces that were the Fusion Fighters and the Digimon Hunters had become one, with the five teams now one and working alongside one another in order to protect a single Digital World.

Of course, they hadn't started out this way.

Several prior to the merging of the Digital Worlds, the heroes and the heroines of the Digital Worlds had been summoned the world of the Fusion Fighters and called to fight against the twisted Digimon that was Quartzmon, a being who had tried to fuse himself with the Digital World, the Real World and his created world, the Digi-Quartz, a mad plan to shape all three realities into his warped image.

Despite Quartzmon's great power, the twisted Digimon met his end and was defeated by the combination of teamwork divided amongst the five heroic forces, alongside the power of Tagiru Akashi and Arresterdramon, with the Superstar Digimon destroying Quartzmon's Digicore and Tagiru sealing the remaining data of Quartzmon into his Fusion Loader and reverting it to a harmless Digi-Egg.

With Quartzmon defeated, save the Fusion Fighters and Digimon Hunters, the different factions of Digimon heroes were sent back to their correct timelines, their memories of the events, their partnerships and any traces that could link them to Quartzmon were all erased from their minds, a precaution as to avoid a time paradox or any unforeseen abnormalities.

However, observing the groups and watching as they continued to grow, the guides of the Digital Worlds, Gennai, the Digimon Sovereigns, the Celestial Digimon, the Royal Knights, alongside Shoutmon and the Old Clock Shop Man would gather from time to time, discussing whether or not to restore the memories during the battle against Quartzmon or to keep their respective heroes in the dark.

And though there were a handful of negative arguments and oppositions to the idea, observing the growing bonds each faction showed, it soon became clear to Gennai and the others that allowing the Digidestined and the others to remember their clash against Quartzmon and to know there were other heroes and Digimon out there with similar goals and dreams would only be a positive.

Regaining their memories, the Digidestined, Tamers, Legendary Warriors, DATS, Fusion Fighters and Digimon Hunters were reunited, with the guardians of each Digital World keeping an eye on them, monitoring the progress between the groups, wanting to make sure their choice to unlock the hidden memories was the right thing to do.

And though there were a handful of arguments from some of the less mature humans and Digimon amongst the groups upon their reunion, the five teams showed themselves when the Digital Worlds needed them, this leading to a unanimous vote, with the Old Clock Shop Man using his power to fuse the five Digital Worlds and into one new Digital World.

However, the Merger had one, unforeseen reaction, as a portal to a sixth world was opened, introducing a new race of Digital Lifeforms to the Digital World, the Appmon.

At first, there was a lot of confusion as the new arrivals who came to the Digital World, but upon meeting a small group of humans associated with the Appmon, the Appli Drivers, the heroes not only managed to calm things down, but find new friends in the form of Haru Shinkai, the search Appmon, Gatchmon and their friends.

And in the years that followed the merger, new cities arose in the Digital World, showing the union between the Digimon and Appmon, as well as their human friends as newer Digidestined, Tamers and Digimon Hunters came to the Digital World.

With the Merger, a combined corporation was formed through Hypnos and DATS, the duo facilities becoming one and revolved to keep the Digital World protected and for the heroes and heroines of the Digital Worlds the equipment, resources and knowledge they needed to combat any threats that would occur.

Having moved their new headquarters to one of the largest of the new Digital Cities, Primary City, which the various actions of heroes and heroines had designed and constructed alongside DATS and Hypno, who received the government funding as to allow them to recruit all the heroes and work with like-minded Digimon to help keep the Digital World safe from any threat, which for the most part, ranged from minor gangs of Digimon or Appmon causing trouble, to one or two of the Demon Lord arising, only to be quickly put down by the heroes, leaving the Digital World in relative peace.

Currently, walking down the streets of Primary City was the now nineteen year old Digidestned of Miracles, Davis Motomiya, who was lost in thought as he looked through the various storefronts and establishments, seeing human, Digimon and Appmon working alongside one another, rather to fearing and depising as they had in the past.

Much had changed for and with Davis over the years, now being captain of the Odaiba High soccer team, as well as having not only brought his grades up, but also maturing mentally and physically as well, becoming someone that many of the girls in his high school wanted as their own.

However, the biggest change for Davis happened three years prior, bringing a warm smile to his face as he thought of the memory.

-Flashback-

The sixteen year old Davis Momotiya was walking down the street, leaving the school grounds after a long day and letting out an exhausted sigh as he held his backpack, where DemiVeemon popped his head out and smiled at his partner.

"Cheer up, Davis. Now that school's over, we can finally relax." DemiVeemon pointed out, sinking back into Davis' backpack and rummaging through the contents, before returning with a soccer ball.

"How about we invite Ken and Wormmon over for a match? Despite his height, Wormmon makes a decent goalie." The Digimon of Courage and Friendship went on, keeping up his enthusiasm and wanting to share that spirit with his best friend.

However, before Davis could reply, the duo heard a familiar voice call out from behind them. "Davis!"

Turning around at the call and familiarity of the voice, Davis smiled at the sight before him, seeing the Digidestined of Light, and the girl he had loved his whole life, Kari Kamiya, running towards him, with her partner, Gatomon, on her shoulder.

Taking in her appearance as she approached him, Davis took note of the difference in Kari's attire, seeing that though the choice to wear uniforms was optional, the brunette had decided to look a little more mature and was wearing the uniform provided by the school, which consisted of green jacket and a matching green skirt, while a pink neckerchief ran around her neck.

Though he had stopped asking her out, believing that her heart would never belong to him, Davis found that Kari's company always brightened his day, where the brunette finished running up to him, seemingly out of breath as she seemed to have chased after him from the school.

But before either Davis or DemiVeemon could ask what Kari had on her mind, Gatomon leaped onto Davis' shoulder and picked DemiVeemon out of his backpack as she told the smaller Digimon. "Come on Vee, I need to talk to you about something."

Surprised by the feline Digimon all but abducting his partner, watching her take him into the trees, Davis looked back at Kari, who smiled at him as they began to walk slowly together, seeming to enjoy one another's company.

"So, you've heard about the school dance next week, right?" Kari asked Davis, her tone of curiousness as she stared at the maroon haired Digidestined, who just shrugged a little.

"Yeah, not too sure if I'll be going, but I bet you and TK will have a good time." Davis replied, letting out a sigh as he mentally imagined the scenery, imaging Kari in a beautiful dress, with TK by her side.

"Actually..." Davis then heard Kari say, causing him to turn and look at her, where his eyes widened at the sight, seeing the bright blush on Kari's face as she seemed nervous, unable to look him in the eyes, finding her next words shocking him more as she said. "I was hoping you'd be my date..."

Davis was stumped.

Here was the girl of his dreams, the love of his life, asking him to go on a date with her.

As he remained silent, Kari began to feel doubt filling her as she mentally berated herself. 'Stupid, stupid! Of course he doesn't feel that way about you anymore, and now you've just embarrassed yourself! Oh god, I just want to crawl into a hole and...'

"Of course, Kari. I... I'd really like that..." Davis finally replied as his mind finally caught up to him, his words causing Kari to beam happily as she tried to keep her composure.

"Great! It's a date!" Kari then said happily as she quickly gave Davis' a kiss on the cheek, this causing both to blush at Kari's expressiveness, before the brunette turned and headed home with a happy smile on her face, while Davis stood in place for a moment in shock.

Overcoming the obvious stun that came with Kari's kiss, Davis then turned and headed home with an equally large smile on his face.

Meanwhile, both Gatomon and DemiVeemon watched their partners from a tree branch above, with the Digimon of Miracles sitting in Gatomon's lap as he turned his head up, to look upon the Digimon of Light, looking her in the eyes as he asked. "So... does this mean we don't have to hide it anymore?"

Smiling at DemiVeemon's question, Gatomon leaned down and gave him a sweet kiss, happy that they could now be more open in their own relationship.

-Flashback end-

And from that day forward, Davis and Kari began dating, with Davis learning that Kari had been in love with him for a long time, and only then had worked up the courage to ask him out, and now the two were nearly inseparable, with plans to move into an apartment together after school had ended while they attended their respective colleges.

Continuing to look through the windows, Davis saw various items and gifts he knew Kari would like, and began to think about what to do for his girlfriend for their next date, only to be brought out of his thoughts by his partner, Veemon, calling out. "Davis, snap out of it!"

Blinking his eyes, Davis turned and laughed nervously, remembering he wasn't alone, not only now noticing Veemon staring at him, but Tai, Ken, Cody, Takuya, Henry, JP, Marcus, Mikey, Kazu, Tagiru, Astora, Haru and their partners, who each shook their heads to see Davis once again spacing out as he thought of Kari.

"Sorry about that." Davis replied, where Henry sighed and turned as he started walking and began to say. "Just pay attention, you don't want to..."

However, the Tamer was cut off as he crashed into someone, falling down as he got up and started to say. "Sorry about..."

"Watch where you're..." The individual he crashed into began to yell, only to stop when they got a better look at Henry, who gained a light blush at their appearance.

The girl was around his age, with long, raven hair and striking blue eyes, wearing a dark purple coloured shirt and a pair of blue jeans, which showed off an amazing figure for the girl, as well as her D-cup breasts.

Henry remained in his stupor as he looked at the girl, who seemed to be in a similar state as she blushed as well, staring at Henry, while the others watched with amused smiles, especially Terriermon.

At the next moment, however, a light green blur shot between the pair, with the girl up on her feet a second later, before the blur stopped and revealed its true form as he looked at Henry and yelled. "What's the big idea, knocking my partner over?!"

Looking at the newly revealed Digimon, the Digi-heroes saw that he almost resembled Veemon as his base, before taking in the individual aspects of the Digimon, taking note of his yellow fur, the bolt shaped protrusions, one coming from out the top of its head and another that acted as a tail, alongside the pair of sneakers it wore.

As the new Digimon continued to bear his green eyes down at Henry, pacing around the Tamer with a continued accusatory expression, he soon stopped as his female partner smashed her first into his head as she yelled. "Knock it off, you idiot!"

"Sorry, sorry..." The Digimon let out in an apologetic voice as he rubbed at the bump forming on his head, where the girl let out a sigh, before offering her hand to help Henry up as the others approached her.

"Thanks." Henry said to the girl, before he then introduced himself. "I'm Henry Wong."

"One of the Tamers?!" The girl asked in shock, before clearing her throat as she then said with a clear respect in her voice. "I'm Azumi, Azumi Sakamoto."

Looking down at her Digimon, Azumi then introduced him as she pointed down and said. "And this energetic freak is my partner, Pulsemon."

"Nice to meet you, and you, and you..." Pulsemon said as he seemed to flash between the various Digi-heroes and Appli Drivers presents, shaking their hands and their partners as he moved about.

"Someone give him a chill pill." Terriermon let out as his whole body shook while Pulsemon shook his hand, before returning to his partner's side as Azumi sighed lightly, a little embarrassed by how her introduction to the group was left questionable by Pulsemon's enthusiasm.

After the rest of the group introduced themselves, Davis asked Azumi. "So, first time here in Primary City?"

"Yeah, I was told to go to the DATS headquarters to register Pulsemon and my Digivice." Azumi said in reply as she held her device out, showing that it was one of the newer models most of the Digi-heroes and those with Digimon either upgraded to or were given, with the device taking more of a smartphone appearance, allowing the user to access many more features than the previous models.

While each Digivice was unique for their user, set upon the back of Azumi's she allowed the others to see the green casing running along the back, baring a black lightning bolt symbol, showing her bond with Pulsemon.

"That's great. If you're interested, we're actually just checking things out around the city before we head there ourselves to meet our friends, so you're welcome to come with us if you like?" Tai offered with a kindness in his voice, this shared and expressed by Agumon and the others.

"This will give you time to get to know your new girlfriend." Terriermon then whispered into Henry's ear, this causing the dark haired genius amongst the Tamers to blush brightly, before slapping his hand over his partner's mouth to quiet him.

As the group began their walk once again, Haru, Takuya, Ken and Cody noticed that Davis seemed to be quieter than usual, where the Legendary Warrior of Fire slowed his pace, allowing Tai and the others to talk to Azumi and Pulsemon, while Takuya then asked Davis. "You alright, man? Don't tell me you're worried about your next date with Kari, she's all over you man, so relax."

Blinking out of his thoughts as he saw Veemon, Takuya and a few of the others looking at him again, where he sighed and replied. "No it's.. it's not that."

"Everything is great, with Kari, with our friends, with the Digital World, but I can't shake this nagging feeling that something bad's about to happen." Davis replied, causing the four humans and their partners to look at one another in confusion.

"Bad as in?" Gatchmon asked in confusion, only for Davis to shrug in reply, not sure how to answer exactly.

"I don't know, just something bad's going to happen." Davis then said, his words a bit of a concern for his friends, before Ken approached Davis, set his hand on Davis' shoulder and assured him. "Whatever you are feeling, we can stop it as a team. You have always been there for all of us, Davis, and we'll always be there for you."

"Now let's hurry up and catch up to the others." Armadillomon then suggested as the group moved to catch up to Tai and the others.

Despite his friends' words, Davis couldn't shake the feeling of something wrong, almost as if there was a part of him which was trying to warn him about something coming.

But shaking his head, Davis put a smile back on his face, knowing that he would be seeing Kari again soon, and that always brightened his day.

-Meanwhile-

At another part of Primary City, Kari Kamiya let out a dreamy sigh, she too lost again in the thought of her boyfriend and her lover, Davis Motomiya.

The nineteen year old brunette was now wearing a white jacket over a tight pink t-shirt, with the t-shirt clinging to her body and showing off her breasts a little.

Having changed her style of fashion gradually over the years, keeping her hair short and with a simple hair clip, Kari continued to wear a pair of yellow shorts, only her current design was fitted not only to allow her easy access to her Digivice, but the way they were set around her , showed off her slender legs and her ass, having chosen the outfit specifically to catch Davis' attention every now and then.

Kari lightly giggled as she thought of Davis, with the past three years feeling like a dream come true for her.

Ever since she met him, there was a part of Kari that was always drawn to Davis, and over the years, that feeling grew, especially after the battle with MaloMyotismon, seeing Davis as everything she had ever dreamed about in a man.

But when he stopped asking her out, Kari had been afraid that he no longer felt the same about her, until she worked up the courage to finally ask him out, and she has never regretted it, with Davis treating her like a princess, always putting her before himself, causing her to think that after tonight's date, she might go all the way with him, a thought that caused her to smile even more.

But as captivating as her ideas were, Kari was snapped out of her thoughts as she felt a hand on her shoulder, turning her head to see Rika, where the red haired Tamer asked with a sigh. "Can you stop thinking about him for just five minutes, please?"

Blushing for a moment, a little embarrassed that her affections continued to distract her, Kari looked at each of those with her, seeing Mimi, Yolei, Jeri, Zoe, Yoshi, Nene, Angie, Eri and their partners all smirking at the brunette, while behind the group, TK, Takato, Kenta, Tommy, JP, Keenan, Jeremy and the Digimon and Appmon with them sighed, feeling like third wheels of the group as the girls seemed more focused on gossip and shopping then anything else, having dragged the boys with them to shop.

"Well, things could be worse." Takato commented as he looked at Jeri, who looked back quickly and happily smiled at her boyfriend.

"You're too whipped." Kenta remarked in reply, before gulping as he then noticed all the girls glaring at him, to the point that even MarineAngemon hid in his shirt, not wanting to get involved in the growing conflict.

"Alright, let's calm down." Rika then cut in, before looking at Kari and giving one of her rare smiles as she then said. "I know how much he means to you, you haven't stopped talking about him for years, but let's just focus on getting lunch, and then we'll meet up with Davis and the others at DATS."

Kari smiled at Rika, happy at how their friendship had changed over the years, especially after an incident two years prior, where, at a girls' get together at Nene's luxury apartment, the girls had a game of truth and dare, to which Kari asked Rika who she had a crush on.

Despite not wanting to reply, after an embarrassing harassment from the other girls, Rika blurted out that she had a crush on Davis, much to their surprise, especially surprising to Kari, since she was dating him.

After Rika's confession, the two sat and talked with one another, with Kari not wanting any resentment or ill feelings between them, which led to their friendship growing, and Rika coming to terms with Kari dating the boy she crushed on.

"Sorry, I just can't get him out of my mind and..." Kari started to say, where the others noticed her get tense for a moment, before she then finished and said. "Everything between us, and everything in our lives is perfect, almost too perfect. I can't shake this feeling lately that something bad is going to happen."

Walking up to Kari, Zoe placed a hand on her other shoulder and said. "Don't worry, Kari, nothing bad will happen between you and Davis. You two are too perfect together."

"Yeah, he's perfect for you." Yolei then said, before adding. "I still can't believe I'm saying that after all these years."

"Zoe's right. Davis might've started off a little rough around the edges, but he makes a great boyfriend, and he obviously makes you happy, so just focus on that." Yoshi added with sincerity in her voice, before Kari sighed.

"It's not Davis I am worried about, it's... I don't know what it is, it just feels like something is telling me something bad is going to happen." Kari then let out, feeling a growing despair in the bad of her mind.

"The only bad thing that's going to happen is if Sora's late to meet us." Mimi said in reply, searching through her pocket and withdrawing her Digivice, which she used once again to try to call her fellow Digidestined, using her Digivice's phone function, only for it to reach Sora's voicemail once again.

"Relax, will you? Sora's been stressing out over her classes. I'm sure she'll meet up with use soon." Angie let out, with her and the other girls seeing how stressed-out Sora had been lately, knowing that, at times, juggling between being a Digi-hero and a normal human can be difficult.

"Yeah, so you relax." Eri said as she pointed at Kari, before pointing and Mimi and adding with her usual enthusiasm. "You just relax, and we all get something to eat, or I'll punch you both out to your heart's content!"

Each of the girls and the guys sweatdropped at Eri's comment, as well as how Dokamon had hoisted the pink haired idol over his head as to highlight his partner and make her presence more dramatic, before the group each sighed as they continued walking down towards a restaurant the group all liked, while Kari continued to feel the concern within her only growing, not sure what was causing her uneasy feelings, or what was about to happen to all of them.

-Meanwhile-

Within her apartment, the stressed-out form of Sora Takenouchi quickly grabbed and turned off her Digivice, cutting off the latest call from Mimi as she continued to read her text book, trying to memorize the information for her upcoming exams.

"Sora, are you alright?" Biyomon asked as she walked up to her partner, expressing a little concern in her voice, causing Sora to give a tired sigh and say in reply. "Yeah, Biyomon, I'm just exhausted is all."

Deep down, despite how much she didn't want to admit it, there were times that Sora wished that she was a normal girl, one who didn't have to worry Digimon or the safety of the world, or anything like that.

"It's alright, Sora. I know things are stressful, but I'm here for you." The Digimon of Love assured, knowing just how hard Sora had been pushing herself, and promised to continue to be there for her, her words causing Sora to smile as the orange haired girl remembered why she loved being a Digidestined, before the orange haired girl reached down, giving her partner a tight hug.

However, at the next moment, something happened that surprised the Digidestined and Digimon of Love, with two dark portals opening behind each of them, before a series of dark metal chains shot out and wrapped around the duo, quickly pulling them in as they each cried for the other in pure concern.

.

.

.

Blinking her eyes as she regained consciousness, Sora quickly looked around, finding herself in a darkly lit room, where she found herself chained by her arms and legs to what appeared to be a wall, before light came on before her, the first sight causing Sora to feel dread as she took in the figure standing before her.

The figure wore a full suit of dark armour, sectioned off in scales, with claw-like gauntlets that had three spikes coming out of the sides on each, which were matching on his boots.

On his chest was a dark skull-like design, with purple gems for eyes, while a pair of shoulder pads resembling the upper part of a skull with elongated fangs and horns rested upon him.

Out of his back were ten blade-like spikes, ranging from small to large as they went up his back, but did nothing to obstruct the long black cape that flowed from his back.

Finally, Sora looked upon his face, seeing it covered in a helmet made of the same material as his armour, resembling a skull face with fangs, two long horns coming out of his head, and a pair of glowing red eyes as he seemed to peer out into the world.

As terrifying as the figure was, behind him, the Digidestined of Love saw Biyomon, awake and chained to the wall on the opposite side of her, while next to her was a figure covered in red robes, a hood over their head, and a silver mask with two red slits for eyes.

Looking back at the dark figure before her, Sora started to ask in a serious tone. "Who are...?"

However, the orange haired girl was silenced as the figure held a finger up, waving it as though an adult was chastising a child, before the figure said in a dark distorted voice that sent chills down Sora and Biyomon's spines as he said. "I ask the questions, you only answer."

"And when you answer, you will answer truthfully. And if you don't, or I don't like your response, then... well." The figure trailing off a little, before a bolt of dark electricity came down from above and run through Biyomon's body, causing the Digimon of love to scream at the clearly terrible pain that circulated through her.

"Stop!" Sora cried out, this only causing another bolt to strike at Biyomon, prolonging her screams and her pain.

"As I said, you only answer my questions." The dark figure said with a continued chill in his voice as he approached Sora, who backed against the wall as she saw the red eyes glaring at her, before the figure then said with a glee in his tone. "And all you must do is answer one, simple question. Where can we find Davis Motomiya, and Kari Kamiya?"

At hearing the question, Sora and Biyomon's eyes widened in shock.

This being wanted Davis and Kari, and they were not about to betray their friends.

However, after a moment of silence, Biyomon began screaming again as she was zapped further by the dark electricity, this causing Sora to look up with panic to see her partner suffering, where the dark being said with further amusement. "The longer you keep quiet, the more she suffers. So please, spare her the pain. And don't lie, I can tell when you lie, Sora Takenouchi."

Not caring how this being knew her name, or about her friends, Sora continued to watch as Biyomon suffered, getting zapped with each passing moment, it was getting too much for her.

It was becoming unbearable for the Digidestined of Love, who finally snapped after a few more cries from her partner, with the orange haired Digidestined all but screaming. "They're in the Digital World! In Primary City!"

The electricity dying down around her, the Digimon of Love slumped down after letting out a pained sigh, while Sora slumped herself, tearing up a little at what Biyomon had endured because of her, and feeling horrible that she had betrayed Davis and Kari.

"There, that wasn't so hard, was it?" The dark being then asked with an amused tone, running his hand along Sora's cheek and causing the Digidestined of Love to glare up at him, despising this person more than anyone.

Continuing to tease Sora, the figure slid his hand along her face, cupping her chin to meet his covered face and told her. "In fact, I think you should be rewarded, so I'll give you what you desire most."

Looking confused, the dark entity then said. "You feel so trapped between being a Digidestined and just so normal girl. So, I'm going to set you free."

Sora was unsure what the individual meant, before, much to her shock and horror, the orange haired girl looked behind him to see a blade slide down the sleeve of the red robed figure, sliding the blade down their right arm, which they spun skillfully, before plunging it forward and straight into Biyomon's chest.

From the sudden strike Sora and Biyomon looked at one another in horror and disbelief, before the Digimon of Love burst into Data particles before Sora's eyes, this leaving her with a growing disbelief and dread.

"There. Now you're free. Enjoy yourself." The dark figure said as he stood back up, looked into the shadows, and commanded. "Drop her back off at her place."

"Yes, my King." A dark voice said from the shadows, their tone of pure obedience as the being and the red robed figure turned and left.

Sora, however, remained staring at the spot Biyomon was a moment again, her eyes widened in shock as her breathing became erratic, before she let out a terrible scream of pain and anguish.

And further down the hallway, behind his mask, the Dark King smirked wickedly at the pain caused and the pain coming to the Digital World.
