The sound of an alarm echoed throughout a bedroom in a beautiful penthouse that bedroom belonged to Anga the brand new Keenest of Sight of the Lion Guard protectors of Prideland City. She was recruited into the Lion Guard after Ono injured his eyes and couldn't be the eyes of the team until he healed completely she was recommended by Beshte who she is some what close friends with.
Anga like all martial eagles has superior eyesight and but she had superb hand to hand combat prowess, she's been with the Lion Guard for almost a year and although she didn't really show it sometimes but she loved it and she loved the team.
Anga let out a soft groan as she leaned over and hit the button on the clock ending it's ringing she then sat up rubbing her head. Then she stood up and arched her back with a soft popping sound following after that she exited her room and began heading towards the kitchen.
When she arrived she poured herself some cereal and orange juice and sat down on the couch and turned on the tv to some cartoons and began eating. It was only until after she ate she got a text message from Fuli: "Hey Anga Kion is giving the Lion Guard a much needed month off from action due to how much of an excellent job we've been doing since we've started the lion guard,The Team's going to the Water Hole wanna come with?"
Anga was surprised at first but then she realized that the team has been working hard 24/7 and she felt the team needed a break it seemed that Kion felt the same thing Anga texted back "I'm on my way there." Then she immediately got herself washed up and put on a Light purple bikini and headed out.
An Hour Later
The Water Hole is a massive lake in the City where the citizens liked to go to cool off in the summer time or to just hang out. The water whole was packed with the people of Prideland City who were sitting on the beach,Playing Volleyball or playing in the water. The Lion Guard were also enjoying themselves as well while Anga and Fuli were were wearing bikinis and sunglasses and laying down on towels sunbathing,the boys were wearing swim trunks and playing a game of volleyball.
As Anga and Fuli laid under the sun with their eyes closed Anga felt something land on her stomach she looked down at her stomach and saw it was only a bright blue frisbee. "Oh I'm so sorry."A young male voice said Anga didn't take it personally as it was only an accident she grabbed the frisbee and began the process of handing it back "It's..."Anga began but then she paused immediately when she looked up at the person who came to get the frisbee. The person was a male Marshal Eagle who had Red and Silver colored feathers,with green eyes and an athletic physique he also looked about the same age as Anga who stared at the young bird completely stunned at how handsome he was.
"...Fine."Anga said in a sing songy voice confusing the bird and making Fuli glance over to her in equal confusion. "Pardon?"he asked in confusion Anga shook her head the handed the frisbee back to the bird "Nothing here's your frisbee back." The bird graciously took back the frisbee "Thanks..."the bird paused after noticing the Lion Guard symbol on her shoulder and immediately recognized her.
"Hey You're Anga of the Lion Guard."He chirped happily making Anga nodded a little with a light smile "Yes i am." The bird let out a excited laugh "Awesome I'm standing beside the Keenest of Sight,I must say you're even more prettier in person." Anga blushed a little after hearing that.
"Aww Thank you." Anga said with a smile Fuli rolled her eyes with a little chuckle just then Anga and the bird heard a whistle from across from where they were it was the birds friends who were waving him back over But the Bird just threw the frisbee back at them and motioned for them to play without him which they did and The bird looked back at Anga with a smile "It's very amazing to meet you Anga My name is Ruby." He said kindly offering his hand for a handshake which Anga graciously accepted "Oh like the Gemstone?"Anga said with a smile as Ruby nodded.
"Isn't Ruby a girl's name?"Fuli asked although she wasn't trying to make fun of him but Anga thought she was and glared down at her angrily as Ruby sighed "Yeah I've been teased a lot due to that but i try not to let that get to me."
"Well don't listen to what anyone says i think Ruby fits you perfectly."Anga said putting her hands onto his making him smile a little. Fuli could immediately tell they were hitting it off extremely well so she decided to leave them alone.
Fuli stood up while looking at Anga "I'm gonna go join the guys Anga 3s a crowd."Fuli said then she walked off leaving Anga and Ruby alone. Ruby immediately scooted over to where Fuli was originally laying and Started to chat with Anga.
"So how long were you a member of the Lion Guard?"Ruby asked "about a year i was recruited to be the new Keenest of Sight after Ono injured his eyes."Anga explained Ruby hung his head rather glumly "Yeah i heard about that but he seems to be doing well now "Ruby said Looking over to Ono who was spiking the volleyball over to the opposite team.
"Yeah his sight is getting better needless to say i wasn't exactly proud of replacing him as the Keenest of sight but the team needed one and i was it but Ono got to stay on as the team's smartypants."Anga said making Ruby chuckle.
"I love doing what i do and i love the team very much,We are like a mix match family."Anga said glancing at the others with a smile. "It's always best to have friends like that i live with my 2 college roommates who are like brothers to me we are a little dysfunctional and we get into zany arguments and fights but i wouldn't want them any other way."
Anga giggled slightly at that then Ruby stomach growled then saw the Ice cream truck nearby and Looked at Anga "Hey I'm going to go get some ice cream would you like one?"Anga's eyes lit up as she smiled "Yes vanilla please." Ruby nodded and got up to go to the ice cream truck and a few seconds later he came back with two ice cream cones one chocolate and the other vanilla he gave the vanilla cone to Anga and sat down back next to her and the both began to enjoy their ice creams.
Meanwhile unknown to them they were being watched by the rest of the lion guard who was watching the two eagles with interest "So what's his name again?"Ono asked curiously "Ruby."Fuli said with a smile Bunga looked at her in confusion "Isn't that a girl's name?"He asked "It not unheard of for boys to have girls names and vise versa."Ono explained causing Bunga to look at him funny.
"What kind of parent would give their son a girls name?"he asked completely dumbfounded making Fuli roll her eyes at him.
Meanwhile Kion was watching both Anga and Ruby,Kion saw the look of of extreme happiness on Anga's face as they both talked while enjoying their ice scream,Kion has seen Anga smile and happy before but this was something else this is something he hadn't seen in Anga before but has seen in other people a few times before.
"She's in love with him."Kion said as the others looked at him funny and Fuli rolled her eyes and spoke sarcastically "Really how could you tell?" "that's ridiculous she can't be in love with him she just met him."Bunga exclaimed.
"Ever heard of Love at first sight little b?"Beshte ask looking at Bunga who shook his head no "No what's that?" "It means that a person can instantly feel affections for someone or something they first lay their eyes on,Common knowledge really."Ono explained.
"Everyone has felt love at first sight even me,and it seems like our Anga has taken an immediate liking to Ruby."Kion said rather proudly looking at the two birds. "Yep so let's leave those two alone for awhile,She doesn't need us embarrassing her in front of Ruby especially you Bunga."Fuli said walking away as bunga looked at her offended as he and the others followed her.
Meanwhile
After finishing their ice creams both Anga and Ruby continued talking about themselves they both talked about their families their favorite movie genres,music and many other things. The more they learned more and more about one another the more Anga and Ruby began to like each other,it was only until it was High Noon when Anga and Ruby ran out of things to talk about and sat in silence which got uncomfortably awkward really fast.
The silence was soon cut short when Ruby's watch beeped which he knew what it meant and it really bummed him out "Aw shoot almost time to start my shift." Anga looked at him with confusion and disappointment clear on her face.
"Wait You're leaving?"Anga asked "yeah I'm sorry it was really nice to spend time with you Anga"Ruby said sincerely making Anga smile a little "When can i see you again?" Ruby thought about that then a smile formed on his face "tell you what I'm completely free Friday (It's Tuesday i forgot to mention)how about we continue hanging out then maybe go see a movie?"Ruby asked the biggest smile formed on her face as she responded "Sure that will be fun."
Ruby chuckled then both he and Anga exchanged Phone numbers and then looked at each other's eyes one final time "I'll call you."Ruby said and he then ran off while Anga watched him leave with a smile on her face just then the Lion Guard came up behind her and watched Ruby leave.
"Where's he going?"Bunga asked curiously "He has to go to work."Anga simply said causing the boys to groan with slight disappointment "Shame i wanted to meet him."Ono said "Me too."Beshte said as Kion nodded "Yeah he looked like a nice guy."
Anga turned to the guys and spoke "He is." "Will we get to meet him one of these days?"Bunga asked Anga then looked Bunga then at the rest of the team then back at bunga with a dead pan expression then spoke in the most serious tone they've ever heard from her "Them yes,you...not going to happen."
