"You sure about this they can't even handle losing me Ressler and now you too?They been talking for awhile everyone went home from that day and they had got Agnes back to Liz, only reason he stayed to help is he couldn't leave with himself knowing he could have helped find her "Yes I am sure Samar, I'm not needed here they got Agnes Liz is back and staying they don't need me so yes I am sure"He said laying back in his chair looking up at her and a pain look on his face. Yes he wanted to stay but he didn't think he could no after everything, she went back to him like when she promised Ressler after she got of the run she'd come back to him and pick up where they left off but she didn't she went back to that liar like he meant nothing to her the morning she'd woke up in his bed with her in his arms and like he would never let anyone hurt her but it all meant nothing.
"I only ask because I don't think I will leave Ressler,I thought about it"With that she got her jacket patted him on the shoulder and walked out the room leaving him to think. He thought a lot and slept on it, in his mind it was the right thing to do. Maybe he was being selfish but he didn't know. It was early when he got there and went up to Cooper's office and put the paper on his desk. Walked down to his office he once shared with Liz she'll be fine she has Tom she'll be fine, he got his thing left his badge and left after today he's gone he will be a ghost.
"Sir have you seen Ressler he's late and not answering his phone"She asked walking into his office Ressler 30 minutes late, she was getting worried where he is? She needs to talk to him about Tom "Agent Keen, this isn't gonna be easy but this morning I found a paper on my desk.. Agent Ressler he left the team Keen I'm sorry"Within seconds her eyes filled with tears and choking on a sob walking out his office and down to everyone else "Liz what's wrong?"A concerned Aram asked, making his way to hold her, Samar in the back as it hit her, Liz crying and Ressler not here he left. She didn't think he leave much less this soon, did he even think about it she wonder,she didn't say anything it's probably best she doesn't
"Res..Ressler left and he's not coming back"She broke down in Arams arm she can't handle it not after everything life just started to going back to how it use to be "It's all my fault"She choked on a sob again as Aram did his best to calm her down "No no Liz it's not your fault I don't know why he left not your fault I promise you"He shouldn't be promising this maybe she is the reason a person can only handle so much in their life before walking away from someone or something and he guessed it was all to much for Ressler and he walked away. Once Liz stopped crying she walked into what was now just her office but in her mind it will always be theirs. Aram just looks painfully at Samar and went back to work
"Harold we need to get him back he's and others are the only ones I trust on this team"Liz called Red after calming down from calling and told him everything, Ressler was the only man he trust to be their Liz take care of her when she's down, Ressler was everything Red once was and wished for that someone to be their for Lizzie "Reddington there's only so much that I can do he let his phone and everything it's like Ressler is now a ghost"Cooper said rubbing his face the lying back in his chair "Very well Harold you won't find him I will"Reddington said annoyed getting his hat and coat on and walking out the door
"Any luck?"Liz asked waiting down their for Red to come "No, so since dear Harold won't do anything I will don't worry Lizzie I will find Donald" He told her as they walked to the elevator and rubbing her back "It's gonna be okay Lizzie"He told her "I sure hope so but I don't think he's gonna come back, I messed up and now one of the only men I trust is now gone and now we don't know where he is"She started to cry boy did he hate her crying and poor Ressler if Red finds him he's gonna get a very long talk for doing this and making LIz cry "Shh Lizzie it's gonna be okay we are gonna find dear old Donald don't worry he may be able to hide from the FBI but not me"He said taking her into his arms and smoothing her. Other agents watched and felt bad they all knew Ressler and the team was close but it's really hitting Liz and it hurts the others
"You know a couple days or so ago Ressler told me he was thinking about leaving but I didn't think he would"Samar said walking over to Aram "Wow he,he say why?"He asked looking up from his laptop "Told me we don't need him and everyone will be fine without him and Liz won't care now she has Agnes back, boy oh boy was he wrong, if only he could see Liz right now. It probably would kill him for making her cry"She said to Amar a look of sadness on both their faces. Aram didn't say anything, his face said it all to Samar and both left pain for the younger agents crying in the criminals arms. She walked back over to her desk both wondering how they could help their friend
"Liz,Resslers a big boy and you guys don't need him"They had been going back and forth since she got home and brokedown to Tom about Ressler leaving the team, he could have careless because he always thought there was something between them and now he's gone he don't need to worry about it anymore "TOM WE ARE THE REASON HE LEFT BECAUSE OF WHAT WE DID! HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR ME TOM GODDAMNIT"She finally snapped at him and broke down at the same time she had enough of his shit "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO SAY LIZ THAT I AM HAPPY HE LEFT BECAUSE I ALWAYS THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE TWO OF YOU IF SO THEN YES I AM HAPPY HE IS GONE" He snapped and what he said only made her more mad at him. She slapped him in the face and walked away crying
"Hey Samar big favor can I and the Agnes come stay the night?"She asked, trying to sound calm and packing Agnes things into a backpack she had and then some of her things too "Yeah that's fine Liz something happened?"She was worried Liz never called her and NEVER asked to come stay so either it's because Ressler's gone or something bad happened "No everything's far from okay I'll say more once I'm their"She hung up the phone and got Agnes ready after sending Red a text saying she was going to Samar's she left without saying a word to Tom.
After 25 minutes she was at Samar, she helped Liz set up a pack-n-play for Agnes, got a bottle of wine and sat down with Liz "Alright come on talk to me Liz what happened?"So that's what they did they talked about everything Ressler leaving Liz telling her how she looked for Ressler today because she needed to talk to him about her having thoughts of leaving Tom, and then her fight with Tom they got take-out and went through a whole bottle of wine and come 1AM Liz was asleep on the went to her room and sat on her bed God Ressler why'd did you have to leave now she needs you we need you. Then she set Red a text telling him everything Liz had said to her knowing he need to know
Samar thought back to the night Ressler told her he was in love with Liz and the pain he felt she was with another man and now here she is in more pain the man she felt safe with and loved gone and here she is ready to try and fix them and he left Bad timing right they always have bad timing. Samar thought she knew how Liz felt because she loved Aram but now he's with other woman we all really have bad timing
3 Years Later
So much has gone on in the 3 years and everyday she told herself it would get easier but it really never did when Park joined the team it felt like they were trying to replace Ressler so Liz tried her best to not show it but she didn't like the young agent. Some days were better at hiding it but Samar or Aram knew how she felt and didn't really blame her. Some days they felt the same, after nights and nights of fighting Tom left Liz and they haven't heard from him in 2 years but they knew he was fine.
After 2 years Red had stopped trying to find Ressler, but that didn't stop world was falling apart and she needed him now more then ever so she found someone who could find people who don't want to be found it took them almost 6 month and ever month that went by it got harder and harder without him,he's know what to do about her mother and Reddinton, he'd hug her and tell it was all gonna be okay and tell her she was doing good with Agnes the day's she felt like she wasn't
Till one day they didn't have a case and it was gonna be a weekend Red took Agnes for grandpa and granddaughter time she had no plans till her phone went off "It's me I have a address on your man"She was up and on her feet fast getting her stuff "What it is"She asked making her way to leave for the weekend and now to go find Ressler "He lives in a small town in Michigan called Grand Haven"Of course he went back home and small town she smiled thinking about him. They give her everything and by 7 PM she was on a plane to Michigan
By 12Am she was in Michigan and outside his house she remember him talking one day and knew it was his parent's waited all night outside till morning around 8Am he left and she fowelled a car behind him go into a story after about 5 minutes she went in. Looking around for him she went into an alley and walked past him. It didn't take him long to call after her "excuse me?"He said walking to her,she stopped now wondering if this was a good idea. Maybe he won't want to see her "Excuse me Miss you look like someone I kno-"Before he could say anything more she turned around and looked at him. The look of surprised on his face I shouldn't have came she thought looking at him now needing to do everything in her power to not breakdown
"K..Keen what are you doing here"Asked looking at her getting closer to her "I..I've been trying to find you since you left.."She told him looking down at the ground he pulled her into his arms he could see the tears in her eyes "Yeah guess I kinda was a ass when I left never said goodbye"He laugh a little bit to try to keep everything clam "I thought after 2 years you died"She choked on a sob as she softy hit his chest and kept saying I thought you died he grabbed her closer to him and tried to smooth her "How about we get out of here go back to where I'm staying and we talk okay?" He moved back looking at her, not trusting herself to say anything she nodded
That's what they did for half of the day they where in his old room talking about everything the times Tom hit her and she told no one, the days she spent trying to find him,Agnes first words, first steps, Samar and Aram getting together, Park joining the team and Red being her father "Well sounds like you guys had fun while I was gone"He smiled as he laid back into his bed looking at her "Yeah if you call that fun then wow it was really fun"She told him looking him in the eyes it was 8PM now "I go back to DC tomorrow so if you come back it's up to you but we really miss you"She said moving a little closer to him and looking him in the eyes
"Well let's see I don't come back and you go crying to father so yes I will come back not because of red or anything but because I miss all of you guys"He said looking to her and smiling we would never tell anyone but she's the reason he is comin he missed her "Come here"He told her motioning for her to lay on his chest she laid down on him after a while she moved her head up and looked him in his eyes after almost a minutes he moved slowly to her and kissed her. Her lips softer than he thought they would be,after awhile they stopped and smiled she laid her head back on his cheat. He was coming back there to make up for missed time. Things are finally gonna get better.
