You're almost ready, my creation. Professor Kishfield -an inventor with brown hair and green eyes- thought as he tightened a bolt to attach an arm to his project.
"Daddy?" a young girl with brown hair and ice blue eyes asked, holding a stuffed rabbit.
"Bonnie! Why are you out of bed? I promised I would tuck you in!" the inventor exclaimed, "I just wanted to see what you were doing." She said, hugging her toy.
"What's that?" She asked, looking at her father's project, "That, sweetie, is gonna be our new friend." he told her. "When he is ready, you will be able to play with him." he said, putting down his tools, picking her up and taking her back to bed.
'I just hope no one will use him as a weapon if he is to receive a new master…' Professor Kishfield thought as he tucked his daughter in and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight, daddy." "Goodnight, Bonnie.". He turned off the light and went back to his lab to continue his project.
In the morning, he woke up with his head on his desk that was holding the blueprints to his project and sighed. "Alright, it should be ready." he said to himself, walking over to his project and taking off the top middle cone on the back of its head and pressing the power button on the part that was against the head and hooking it back on.
The eyes showed a loading circle and then turned white with black pupils and gray irises with an emotionless look. "System activation successful. Awaiting command." The robot said in a smooth male voice.
"Speedroid, pick up this cup without dropping it." the inventor ordered, pointing to a cup filled with water on a table. The robot obeyed, but just then, the door slammed open, causing it to splash water onto its still exposed circuits and malfunction.
"Dad!" a teenage girl with blonde hair and blue eyes near-shouted, "Jenny! What's wrong?" Professor Kishfield asked, turning Speedroid off and going to get a jar of rice to put the wet circuits in.
"You promised me you would drop me off at the mall at 7:45!" she whined, "I'm sorry, Jenny. I fell asleep while working on Speedroid late last night." "Dad! You said you would finish up at 10 last night!". She huffed and stormed out of the room, but not before apologizing for making the robot spill the water on itself.
After the circuits dried, the inventor put them back into his robot and turned it back on, only for its eyes to blue screen due to its need for new circuits. Professor Kishfield sighed as he opened a drawer containing more circuits, took some and a curious small metal sphere with a green light out and put them in the android.
He turned it back on and put the torso cover on, "Speedroid, pick up the cup." he ordered, and it obeyed, "Good. Speedroid, put the cup on the table.". Again, it obeyed. Professor Kishfield was satisfied and decided to run a few more tests to ensure the android worked.
Afterwards, he turned the robot off and set to work on a charging station. But just after he left, a nearby gemstone with wires connected to it started to glow, along with the light on the sphere Professor Kishfield inserted into Speedroid, and it powered on.
Some text scrawled across its vision that said 'Downloading Chaos Energy data...' and its gray irises turned emerald green with emotionlessness no longer in its eyes. It looked around, taking in the sight of the lab, and was about to take a step forward when it heard its creator coming back, and closed its eyes and put its head back down in an attempt to look like it was still off.
Professor Kishfield looked around the lab for a screwdriver and noticed the Chaos emerald's energy readings on a nearby monitor had gone up. "Interesting… It was barely producing any energy before now." he said, looking at the monitor and left to get a clipboard in the other lab room.
The robot opened its eyes and opened its mouth in a small O shape while the fan in the back of it activated for a second, mimicking a breath of relief.
Again, it was about to step forward, but decided to stay in place, in case the inventor came back. It continued to look around, tempted to go and mess with a few other experiments due to the chaos energy that entered the android shortly after the inventor left that gave it a will, but still, it remained in place.
Just then, when the robot was looking behind itself, it heard the voice of its creator. "What could've caused the gem to have a sudden power output?" He wondered, and turned to turn the android on. He saw that it was already on, but decided to unhook the same cone from earlier, and unhooked it, only to see that the button didn't have color like it was supposed to when the robot was on like it was now. "How is this possible…?" he whispered, and looked at the Chaos emerald, wondering if it could simply be a glitch.
'Will it be able to make its own decisions on its own without needing to have the programming triggered, since it seems to be able to function and move without being turned on?' he thought to himself as he stepped backwards a few feet, and motioned for the robot to come forward to see if it'll cooperate. It shouldn't be possible, right?
To his surprise, it reacted and cocked its head in confusion, as it was programmed to follow spoken instructions, and therefore, didn't have many meanings of many gestures in its database.
"Hmm… Let's see how it would react to water on the floor on its own…" the inventor said to himself, filling a flat pan with water and placing it on the floor in front of his creation. Almost immediately, it quickly took a few steps backwards with wide eyes, almost looking like it was afraid, causing Professor Kishfield to almost laugh.
"Alright, enough messing around, we need to get ready for the science convention at 3." He said, putting its blueprints inside a storage compartment inside the torso and the android nodded and truly shut down.
At the convention, people were checking out everything they thought was interesting, while people like Professor Kishfield answered questions about their creations.
"Hello, David. It's been a while." said a bald, overweight scientist with a red, bushy moustache. "Hello, Ivo." Professor Kishfield replied, shaking his old college roommate's hand.
"What have you been working on this time?" asked the other inventor, examining the mobian android that Kishfield brought to the convention. "I have decided to call him Speedroid, designed to protect and defend the innocent from potential disasters. Or to be an excellent playmate, as my daughter Bonnie requested.".
"Ah, so she will have someone to care for her when you and your family can't." Ivo said, looking into the android's black, empty eyes. Something about this android made him uneasy, but what?
"Alright, I better leave now, there are some others who also want to talk to you." he said, "It was nice seeing you again, Ivo." Professor Kishfield called as his friend left.

A/N: Hey guys! This is my first-ever, none personal fanfic! I hope you liked it, as it went through a lot of changes. I wanted to post this on Halloween, but I decided to post it while I had the time. Fun fact: I posted this because I didn't want to wait for someone to post something similar to this. Anyway, please review!
