Gothel stood waiting and watching in the doorway of the church as her one true lover heard his vows from another woman.
That little girl had stollen her everything. But she was had something she didn't. Gothel was carrying his child. True they were only six months along in her womb but they were still Gainey's child and she relished in his attention as the young bride said her vows but his eyes focused on her and not his soon to be wife.
"Stop!"
Everyone turned and looked at Gainey and the young woman wondered if it was something she said.
"I can't marry Lila I-" Gainey couldn't find the words as Gothel was the only thing on his mind, Gothel and her protruding middle.
The people in attendance turned and followed Gainey's line of sight until they actually took notice of the pregnant woman standing in the doorway.
"Outrageous!" Lila's father roared.
"I'll pay you back general, guards honor. But I can't... Lila I do love you but I love her more." Gainey said, looking at her apologetically begging for her to find forgiveness in her heart.
Lila stared at him and then looked at Gothel, it was true Gothel was far prettier than she was but she had wished that his old love for her was not as powerful as their own but if Gothel was to have his child then she had no place standing in their way.
Lila walked back down the isle towards Gothel and placed her veil on her long black locks and handed her her bouquet. "If you truly are the one that he wants and if you truly love him and since that child is his then I refuse to stand in the way of your love because I know that he wouldn't be happy settling." Lila smiled softly and sat down leaving Gothel standing there, absolutely unsure of what to do now as she'd not expected this.
Gothel hesitated a moment and then walked down the isle towards Gainey, it was nearly impossible to keep from running to him.
"Um do you take this man...?" The priest began nervously.
"We do!" Gothel giggled softly at their synced response and stared at him with a burning passion that had not been seen since Gainey had left.
"Then I now pronounce-"
Gainey had already pulled Gothel in and kissed her deeply, enjoying her laughter that vibrated through his mouth.
The guests applauded the couple although they had come to see a different marriage take place they were still happy for the couple.
Per Gothel's request they went back to her cottage, but on the way there she showed him her flower, the sun drop, and it's powers.
To say that Gainey was surprised was a bit of an understatement as he had never seen such power in all his days.
"Gothel is it even safe for you to be using that in your condition?" Gainey asked nervously, staring at her and their unborn.
"I've been using it for years and nothing bad has ever. Besides it's powers are healing based. There is nothing that the sun drop can do to hurt me or the baby." Gothel dismissed with a wave of her hand, slightly chuckling at his overprotective nature.
"We'll stay young forever and nothing can separate us Michael. Absolutely nothing."
"That's understandable but I don't think it's safe-"
"If I stop using the flower I'll age years in the matter of days and decades in the time of weeks. Michael I can't stop. Not now, not when I finally have my everything." Gothel said narrowing her eyes and frowning.
This would only be the first of many arguments to come unfortunately.
