I think that it is high-time that I made a proper prologue to The Ultra 10 Chronicles: Volume 1: The Beginning of Ultra 10. If you'd like to get into the actual story, skip to chapter 1. But for those of you curious a little about the making of the story, you can read below!
The Ultra 10 Chronicles is an alternate universe of the Ben 10 TV show, in which Ben finds the Omnitrix after his summer road trip with his Grandpa Max, and cousin Gwen. He decides to become a superhero in order to fight crime and help people. Throughout the Chronicles, he learns what it means to be a hero, the sacrifices that come with it, and the character he must develop. Building his team around him, he confronts enemies from the TV show, such as Dr. Animo, Vilgax and others, as well as enemies new to The Ultra 10 Chronicles!
This fiction is rated M for violence, language, death and scary situations. Being somewhat new to the world of FanFiction, I am not entirely if it is deserving of the M rating, but I see it better to play it safe, than to be sorry I didn't!
I am very open to criticism, both good and bad, as it helps me improve and grow as a writer, as well as better and grow the story of The Ultra 10 Chronicles! You don't have to leave a review, obviously, but I very much appreciate each and every one you leave. So thank you in advanced!
The Ultra 10 Chronicles began as a project I wanted to challenge myself to write sometime in July or August of 2020. Basically, I finished reading a fan fiction that I thought was really great, and decided that I wanted to write a fanfic too! So I sat down, and started coming up with a plot for what I, at the time, called "The Ben 10 Tales." I wanted it to be somewhere around a hundred thousand words, and wrote the plot similar to seasons of a tv show.
Over the month of September, I reworked the plot map I'd created, and came up with the title, "The Ultra 10 Chronicles," and wrote out the first several chapters in preparation to post a chapter every Monday. However, several chapters into Volume 1, I realized that there was a lot more story to tell than I had at first thought, and decided to split it up into three volumes, aiming at about two hundred thousand words in each volume. All the while writing and posting the chapters, I continued to add onto the plot map I had created, adding even more adventures for Ben and the rest of the team.
Currently, I am contemplating writing two additional volumes for The Ultra 10 Chronicles, for a total of five Volumes, again at about two hundred thousand words each. I am also working on a sequel to The Ultra 10 Chronicles, where a new generation of heroes takes up the mantle that Ben and his team leave behind. We will see where this idea goes...
In addition to The Ultra 10 Chronicles, there is at least one alternate universe story being written by another author, which is going to be an official part of the Ultra 10-verse. The U10-verse is expanding, and is very open to alternate timelines, alternate universes, side stories and the likes, so if you are interested in co-writing a chapter, or adding a side story, message me!
