"You have gotta be kidding me…"
Today, I woke up in a forest, when I was expecting a soft, warm bed.
"This is a dream, right?" I asked no one, as I pinched myself to get my answer.
When I realized that I was not dreaming, seeing as I haven't woken up and felt that pinch, I got extremely alert to my surroundings. If I wasn't dreaming, then that would mean someone brought me here.
And just then, to my luck, a nearby bush started rustling.
I immediately grabbed a stick near me and got into a defensive position, never minding the fact that a stick would not protect me in the slightest, and readied myself to defend against whatever that could come out of the bush, expecting it to be my kidnapper.
But when a small, brown animal got out of it, I dropped my stick along with the lower half of my mouth, as my eyes widened seeing what could only exist in dreams and imagination.
It was an Eevee. A fucking Pokémon; a living, breathing Pokémon. And it was bleeding.
Throwing my shock and disbelief at the existence of Pokémon, I hastily ran over to the Eevee, while ignoring the part of my mind that was calling me crazy. I needed to act fast, as the Eevee was losing so much blood that it fell unconscious. But unfortunately, I had nothing on me and I knew nothing about medical science, only tidbits of wrapping a wound.
Slightly panicking, I looked around to try to find something – anything – that would help it. Lo and behold, there is a backpack.
Ignoring whose backpack it could be, I quickly ran over to it; immediately opening it hoping there was a medkit. Thankfully there was, and I took it out and ran back to Eevee.
It had bite marks in a few places, which was the source of blood leak. It had heavy bruises all over its body, along with serious burns.
I immediately opened the medkit and was pulling out a bandage, when I heard a voice.
"Houndoom, Flamethrower."
I roll to the right on reflex, narrowly avoiding being baked alive by the flames. I immediately jump on to my feet, but before I could see the Houndoom, it slams me into a tree with a headbutt. As I felt a few rips crack, two holes that leak blood and my body unable to move, I slipped Eevee from my arms. While I tried to recover, the man that ordered the Houndoom picked up the Eevee by its neck.
"Finally caught the pest," the man said to himself, as he turned around and started to leave, "Houndoom, make sure there are no witnesses."
As I looked at the Houndoom, terrified, I realized I could move again.
The Houndoom charged at me again, this time with flames in his mouth, obviously a Fire Fang. Knowing I had no chance of escaping, I tried my best at beating it with bare hands, as the other option was death.
Battle! Houndoom vs Patcaz!
I jumped left, ignoring the burning pain of my possibly broken ribs. Now I was lying on my back, and Houndoom jumped on me. Seeing an opening, I kicked the underside of the Houndoom, knocking it back a few feet. I got up and tried to attack, but I saw a pair of fangs, as black as night, moments away connecting with my right arm.
As I screamed in pain from the attack, I used my left arm to repeatedly punch it in the head. But it still held onto my arm and slammed me into a nearby tree, still biting into my arm. I punched one of its eyes, which caused it to finally let go of my arm, but it was bleeding and I couldn't feel it.
While it was stunned for a moment, I kicked it in the head and then immediately jumped right, narrowly avoiding it's horns. But the Houndoom wasn't as lucky, as it got its horns stuck into the tree.
I ran over to it, and started kicking it in the rear. When it finally got its horns out of the tree, it looked half dead and bore a heavy bruise from the repeated kicks.
It used another Flamethrower, but this time I could roll out of the way fast enough, leaving half of my jacket to burn.
I got close and kicked it upwards one more time, having suffered great damage it couldn't dodge, then I proceeded with a punch from top of it's head towards ground, then kicked it in the head. Repeatedly.
When I looked at it, it had swirls in its eyes, signalling it was fainted.
It was finally over.
Battle Over!
But I had no time to lose.
I knew this wasn't a dream, and I was still trying to comprehend that I just fought with a Pokémon. And that Eevee was in serious trouble, if that Houndoom is anything to go by.
Even though I knew I could do nothing to save it, more so if that man has more Pokémon, I still wanted to.
So, I got the medkit out of my backpack, hastily wrapped the wound caused by Houndoom to my arm and started running towards where the man left with Eevee.
But then… I fell. I could not feel my legs. Just as I wondered what was going on, I felt pain.
"AAAAAAAAA!"
My adrenaline had worn off.
A/N: Hello guys and gals! I'm baaack! Don't worry One Piece fans, I will be back to Not Ready… One day. I promise! Even if I have to rewrite it, which is probably the best option now with all the mess I threw into it. I didn't plan to continue that.
Ash and co. will make an appearance next chapter.
And yes, the main character's name is Patcaz. And I will add parts and pieces of myself into him, making him a sort of self-insert.
If you have any problems with the Pokémon pronouns, I will call any Pokémon "it" unless it's gender has been stated in the story or it is obvious. This also applies to moves, unless it is guessable. The name of the main character? It will be revealed later.
What do you think about this one though? I didn't make a great first impression in the Pokémon community with my first fic… It is plain and simple shit. At least in my eyes.
Anyway! Here is a goodish new fic, which may or may not continue. I realized that I'm more of a one-shot writer and not very good with long stories. Still need to rewrite that Heroic Pirate and Call Me Anarchy.
Also, Pokémon will have more than four moves. I always hated when writers threw logic out of the window with that one. Why should a Pokémon forget a move they used for years in an instant, just because they learned a new one. This Houndoom simply didn't use any other move.
Also also, about that Eevee… She is not very well taken care of, as you people can guess. This will be explained in future chapters.
And sorry that 1/4 of this chapter is author notes, I felt like I needed to explain things.
Goodbye, and have a nice day!
