Prologue: The Birth of Prince Gojira and his Brother

Long ago…

Long ago, when the Earth was much younger, a new dawn was just approaching the Land of the Rising Sun. The ancient island was teeming with life of all different shapes and sizes. From the smaller creatures such as Man, birds, beasts to the much larger Titans. And while there were a few Titans that preyed upon the smaller creatures and other Titans, other Titans saw them much more than food.

One species of Titans on the island ruled over the others with a sure sovereignty, a group of creatures with square shaped muzzles, large dorsal plates on their backs. One of the creatures in particular, by the name of Dagon a male with a broad muzzle, a long scar over his eye and jagged leaf like dorsal plates, stomped through a path in the forest to a special location. His mate, Fa a female with a slimmer muzzle and crimson dorsal plates, was at their nest. The two were waiting for the arrival of their firstborn child. Fa had laid the egg a short while ago and the two parents were waiting for it to hatch. There had been many dangers to the egg, mostly creatures seeking to eat the hatchling. But Dagon and Fa were able to keep them at bay.

Dagon made it to the nest and saw Fa watching over the egg. She was laying on a cliff not too far from the actually nest, watching over it. Fa heard the sounds of footfalls and looked up to see Dagon approaching. Dagon approached his mate and gently rubbed his head against hers. The sound of cracking drew their attention to the nest and they looked to see it shaking.

Both parents watched in anticipation as cracks started appearing in the egg's shell. Their eyes widened when a tail, arms and legs burst from the shell. With one more push from the infant inside, the egg opened up and revealed the child. The young Titan shook his head and a little of the egg goop was flung off. The baby raised its head up to and saw his mother and father looking down at him. Opening his mouth, the baby let out a shrill roar that made his parents look down at him with pride. Fa got up from the cliff and came down to the child. Fa gently took the child into her large hands before taking him across the land. They didn't go very far and came upon a river with a tall waterfall, well, tall the baby anyway.

Fa gently placed her hands under the waterfall to wash off the remaining egg goop off her new son. The young Titan cringed from the flowing water and Fa pulled him back out. She then carried him back to the nest with Dagon not too far behind her. When they returned to the nest, Fa gently placed the baby back down on the ground. The little lizard started to rise up on his own two feet and after a time he was able to do it. Both Dagon and Fa looked down at their son with pride before Fa looked to her mate. She made a growling like sound, almost as if asking Dagon what to call their son.

Dagon looked down at his newborn son and looked him over. Then he gave a chitter as if saying what he wanted to call the infant. Looking his son in the eye he knew the perfect name. Then throwing his head to the sky he roared to the world his son's name. The world would now know of Gojira, son of Dagon and Fa, the future King of the Monsters.

Two years later…

Gojira, who had grown a good bit over the last couple of years thanks to both food and radiation, stood next to his father Dagon just outside of the nest of Dagon's new mate Juno. Juno, a green scaled female with more rock like dorsal plates on her back, watched over her only egg.

While Gojira was happy to have a brother or sister, he was not too keen on having a new mother. He and his father had loved Fa with all of their hearts. But she had died defending their child from a group of parasitic Titans. Dagon and a few others of their species were able to drive them off, but by then it was too late for Fa. Last year after the battle, Dagon had found a new mate in Juno, who had come from a land far away. The three eagerly awaited for the new egg to hatch and reveal the child inside.

The egg suddenly started shaking a little and Juno started to chitter with excitement. The egg's shell started to crack from the baby inside trying to break out. A moment later and the infant burst from the egg and fell to the ground. The newborn baby was a shade of blue, making him a little different from his parents and sibling. The new child was able to move himself into a sitting position before looking up into the face of his mother. Both mother and child chittered with happiness while Dagon and Gojira watched.

The new baby looked to see his father and half-brother standing there before making a shrill roar at them. Dagon softly growled while Gojira chittered at his sibling. Dagon looked between his two sons before growling at Juno.

While the new mother did not want to be too far from her child, she dare not go against Dagon's will. Moving back from her son who was slightly confused, he looked to his brother as Gojira stepped forward. Both Gojira and the new son looked into each other's eyes while not making a move. Gojira then took another step closer to his half-brother and Juno gave him a warning growl. Dagon too growled, but not at Gojira, at Juno for thinking that Gojira would intentionally hurt his brother. She became silent

Gojira stopped in front of his brother while the young creature leaned forward and sniffed his older sibling. Gojira leaned his head down and sniffed his brother. The baby gave a shrill squeal before leaning forward and nuzzling his brother's face. While a little put off from the goop still on the new baby's face, Gojira wasn't actually minding it too badly.

Both Dagon and Juno watched the interaction between the brothers. One had a slight grin, while the other was a little unsure. Fa looked to her mate and chittered as if asking him something. Dagon looked to her and she lightly roared as if asking to announce the name of their son to the world. Dagon was a little unsure of her request, but granted it with a small growl.

Gojira and his new brother looked to Juno as she raised her head back and unleashed a loud roar that could be heard for miles. She announced the birth of her son, Atlas, to the world.

Author's Note: I started off with Gojira and Atlas first because it kind of sets the stage of what's going to happen in later chapters. In the next chapter, a good amount of time will have flown by and two more of Godzilla and Atlas' brothers, Heracles and Apollo, come into the picture. I look forward to reading your reviews.
