"He slept through the entire movie! My favourite movie! Are you even listening to me?" Azima asked, as Sasha seemed more interested in her paperwork than Azima's current dilemma.
"Yeah, he slept through Romancing the Stone, it's a real travesty." Sasha said dryly as she wondered when she became the third wheel to Azima and Wolf's relationship.
"It's a classic movie." Azima informed her in a tart manner.
"I agree, but Wolf doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's into watching TV or movies or doing anything that involves sitting for long periods of time." Sasha said.
"It's aggravating. Sometimes, I just want to be lazy and watch TV with my man not snoring in my ear." Azima sighed in annoyance.
Sasha smiled sympathetically but she'd give anything to be in Azima's shoes. Not that she'd admit it out loud but she was desperately lonely and horny. She was having vivid sexual dreams in varying places and positions. Last night, she had been pushed up against a wall and kissed in a passionate and possessive manner by her dream lover with no discernible identity. It was still playing in her mind, she needed to get laid instead of listening to Azima's relationship woes.
"Maybe you need to find something else to share as a couple." Sasha offered.
"All he's interested in is sex, crosswords and working out when we're not deployed." Azima said.
"Crosswords are fun." Sasha said.
"You mean incredibly frustrating with it's obscure English words. How about you? Are you dating anyone?" Azima asked changing the subject.
"No, work keeps me busy." Sasha said.
"That's no excuse. Whatever happened with Chandler?" Azima asked.
"We didn't survive the transition to civilian life." Sasha said. She didn't want to share the entire truth with Azima as the woman saw Tom as a hero. Azima understood that Tom was a real person with damage like the rest of them. But she didn't know the extent like Sasha did. She didn't need to, no one did as Tom had a right to his privacy.
"He snore in your ear too much?" Azima asked in amusement.
"We just realised too much time had passed and we'd changed too much. We're not the same people we loved all those years ago. But we're friends which is working out pretty well for us." Sasha said. She was glad that she and Tom had been able to salvage something out of the trainwreck of their short lived romance.
"Friends with benefits?" Azima asked.
"No, platonic friends. But I could use a friend who came with benefits." Sasha sighed.
"Let's go to a bar tonight. I'll be your wingwoman." Azima said, her eyes lit up in excitement.
"Ok, but I get to pick the establishment." Sasha told her.
