The Courier of Fairy Tail
(Florie, Fairy Tail Guild Hall)
Welcome to the land of Fiore. It is a place of magic, wonder, and many more. A world where fantasy is made reality. This is the world of Mages. These Mages have been around for over thousands of years, leaving behind legacies and mysteries for each generation to discover or to improve on.
But you probably know this by now. This Fairy Tale starts like many others. With a young boy coming into town.
The boy was Rukido, a young traveling courier for multiple jobs. He was ten years old, having tanned white skin, short black hair reaching his neck and bluish-green eyes. He was wearing a simple brown tunic, a black vest, green cargo pants and black shoes. Around his body was a brown satchel and under his arm was a small brown box, his delivery to be exact.
'This is Fairy Tail huh? Better make sure the package stays close to me." Rukido thought as he pushed open the doors. Upon doing so, he saw a chair flying right at him and quickly threw his leg up, stopping it in place. 'The hell?!'
Chaos. That's what he would describe the Infamous Guild right now. People were fighting left and right, showing no signs of restraint as well. It was a well known fact that Fairy Tail was always a rowdy and destructive Guild, but this was insane.
'Just gotta find the Master, give him his package, get paid and leave.' The Courier thought while walking inside. Upon doing so, he was suddenly knocked to the ground as the box slid into the battle. "Fuck!"
Getting up fast, he ran into the all out battlefield, ducking and dodging attacks from just about every direction. Either they didn't even see him or they were too into the fight to care. He saw the box, kicked into the center of the room...right in between a red headed girl and a white haired girl.
"Come on fatty! I don't get all day!" Mirajane yelled with a cruel smirk.
"You will receive punishment Whore!" Erza declared, her blade drawn and ready to strike.
"You're going a little overboard for a slice of that disgusting Cake."
"It is Strawberry Shortcake and you will pay for your disobedience!"
Both mages charged at one another, their magical power growing exponentially. Erza drew her blade, Mira gathered up magic between her finger tips as they released their attacks.
"Moon Flash!"
"Evil Explosion!"
Instantly a small explosion went off, stopping everyone's fights. The smoke cleared, revealing both of the girls flash frozen in ice and shivering while a boy about their size was in the middle of them and observing the package in his hands. The boy…vanished, for lack of a better word, and the fight resumed.
Rukido jumped a bit as someone tapped him on the shoulder and turned to see the same person holding his package out to him. Now that he was right in front of him Rukido got a better look at him. He was tan skinned and spiky silver hair with four bangs framing his face. He wore a black sleeveless top, allowing a blue guild mark to be seen on his shoulder, along with a pair of belts in an X crossing over his chest. Over the top was a long black gillet and a pair dark grey pants where his belts connected along with black boots.
His eyes, however, were covered by a black blindfold.
The young courier snapped out of his analysis. Hesitantly taking the package and nodding his thanks, the other boy returned it and vanished again.
Wait. He...saw that?
Looking about the messed up room Rukido managed to spy him in an untouched corner of the guild that the other members avoided like the plague even in the midst of their craziness. He sat back down at the table with another man in a black coat sitting lazily across from him and resumed what looked like a chess game between them.
"Hello there young lad!" A voice spoke as Rukido jumped a bit. Turning around, he was greeted with the sight of the Guild Master, Makarov. "What brings you here?"
"Oh, I have a delivery for the Guild Master here." Rukido explained as he held up the box. "Makarov Dreyar?"
"That would be me!" The Master said as he reached for the box. However...
"FIRE DRAGON'S ROAR!"
Instantly a small wave of flames flew in between them, reducing the packages to ashes.
"MY JEWELS!"
"MY MAGAZINES!"
The box was filled with Special Magazines that Makarov had ordered and now they were up in flames. Rukido had spent the past few days walking to Fiore because of a big pay grade. Now he was out of luck!
"Sorry gramps!"
"Natsu! You're getting that!" Makarov threatened, rage in his eyes.
"ANYTHING BUT THAT!" Natsu screamed out in fear.
Meanwhile the Courier was looking down, a depressing cloud over his head. Hearing a small beeping from his watch, he lifted it up as a holographic figure appeared.
"I just got a notice that your package was just destroyed!" The figure said as Rukido growled.
"It wasn't my fault, one of the guild-I don't care!" Instantly the Courier was interrupted.
"You had one job brat! Just one and you screwed it up!" The figure exclaimed as Rukido winced at the volume. It was hard to deal with his employers sometimes. "No pay for you! You're fired, finished, executed!"
With that, the call ended as Rukido groaned out in both fury and annoyance. Taking off the watch, he threw it in the nearest trash can before taking a seat at the bar. Slamming his head on the table, he thought of where to go next.
'What the hell do now?! I don't have nearly enough jewels to take the train again. It would take a week to get to the next town by foot.' Rukido thought. He didn't mind walking, but he didn't have any camping supplies.
"Excuse me lad? Are you alright?" Makarov asked, his rage now gone. He could deal with Natsu later, another child needed his help. "I couldn't help, but overhear your conversation."
"I'll live, just need to find another job then I'll be good." The Courier said while lifting his head up.
"A little young to move around like that. I'm assuming you don't belong to a Guild?"
"Never thought about it. Why? You offering?" Rukido asked. Guilds were interesting enough, he just didn't have the time. "I could honestly care less as long as I can still take jobs."
"Is that so? Well I see no reason to not allow you to become a member. Any other reasons to join?" Makarov asked with a quirked eyebrow.
"One, but it won't last long." Rukido said as he looked up at the Master. "So...how does this work? Some kind of initiation?"
"Nope, just your name and I'll give you your Guild mark." Makarov explained simply.
"Rukido. Just Rukido." The Courier said as he held up his arm. "Neon Blue by the way. Right forearm"
"Consider it done, lad." Makarov said with a smile. It didn't take long, Rukido now had his symbol as the Master stood up with a wide smile. "Everyone! We have a new member! Be sure to treat him with respect!"
Everyone stopped fighting at that and cheered, quite loudly mind you. Natsu however grinned as he lunged at the Courier with a flaming fist. "Fight me-"
He was instantly kicked in his face and sent flying out one of the windows. Lowering his foot, Rukido held a mad grin while everyone else was shocked. "Good, now I won't feel bad later."
'Great...he'll fit right in.' Makarov thought with a sigh as the fight initiated once again.
Why did he have a feeling that the newcomer was as destructive as the rest of them?
The fight resumed as Rukido was quick to take cover behind the bar. He didn't mind fighting, but he needed to make sure he could compensate for whatever food they had here. However luck wasn't on his side once again as the same white haired girl from before suddenly crashed into him through the bar.
"Damn cunt." Mira growled out as she sat up straight.
"Can you get off me?" Rukido asked. Before Mira had the chance to respond, she was pushed off as Rukido sat up straight. "Thank you."
"You got a lot of nerve to put your hands on me, newbie!" Mira growled while the Courier stood up and extended a hand to her. Smirking, she took the hand and gripped it hard. To her surprise, Rukido only looked at her annoyed as he forcefully lifted her up on her feet. "Hey!"
"Sorry, but I have more important things to do." Rukido said as he walked away. 'Like where am I gonna sleep tonight?'
Mira was not one to take that kind of treatment and let it go unpunished. "Don't you dare walk away from me! Take Over: Satan Soul!"
Stopping in place, Rukido turned around to see the Strauss Elder Sibling transformed and glaring at him angrily. She dashed at him with near blinding speeds to knock him out with a single punch. Imagine her surprise when he vanished a bolt of lighting before she was bashed into the floor.
"Can you not, I'm still in a bad mood over Pinky messing with my pay grade." Rukido said, holding Mira down. He was about to let her go before a table smacked into him and knocked him off. 'Damn tables!'
Mira was quick to stand up, even more enraged than before. Turning around she saw Rukido dusting himself off and lunged right at him. Raising a hand up, he caught her fist before throwing her over his shoulder and into a wall. Getting up slowly, Mira turned around to attack only to be slugged across her face and pinned to a wall. She tried breaking free as he raised a hand up covered in lightning. It then sparked and hit her hands and legs, holding her in place.
"I'm not in the mood for a fight, alright. Now leave me be." Rukido said before walking away. Enraged by this, Mira kept trying to break free as the wall started to crack. Soon enough the wall broke, freeing her from the lightning binding as well. Hearing it, Rukido only groaned as he turned around. "Will you just leave me be-
He was interrupted as she closed in on him while placing her hands on his chest, electricity flowing over them. "EVIL SPARK!"
Lightning flowed throughout his body as Mira smirked knowing he had felt it. However looking up at his face she lost it seeing his passive stare. She was then kicked back by Rukido, stopping her attack, and fell on her ass. Looking up in shock, Mira watched as the lightning around him suddenly vanished.
"Can we stop now? Please?" Rukido asked, wanting whatever...this was to be over. He even went as far to extend a hand to her.
Mira was silent at first before taking the hand. He helped stand up straight and was about to walk away only to be uppercutted in his stomach. What? She wasn't going to have her reputation ruined because she gave up! If wanted to get out of this then he was going to have to knock her out!
Feeling the hand holding hers get tighter, she was about to pull away before Lightning struck throughout her body. While it didn't make her scream, it forced her out of Satan Soul and made her collapse to the floor. She tried to get up, but the pain proved to be more than she could handle as she fell to the floor once more. Glaring up at him, Mira expected him to gloat or something, but instead she was picked up bridal style.
"W-w-w-what the hell are you doing?!" Mira exclaimed, embarrassment flushing across her face.
"Master, where's the medical dorm?" Rukido asked, ignoring the white haired girl.
"In the back, third door on the right." Makarov said, taking a chug of his beer.
"Thank you." Rukido said he proceeded towards the back. Mira was held tightly to his chest, much to her complete embarrassment. However she didn't fight out of it, still too weak to do anything.
'...This ain't that bad.' Mira thought, unconsciously curling up to his chest.
(Later)
Everyone had finally settled down as Rukido had a seat. He was allowed to stay at the Guild until he found a place to stay for as long as he liked. As for the Guild members, they were surprisingly nice despite their rowdy attitude. Now, he was just sitting at one of the tables by himself, icing a wound.
No punches were held back in the fight.
"Don't press down too hard." A voice said from behind him. Looking up he was greeted with the sight of the person who saved his package the first time. "Won't get better faster if you do."
"Thanks for the advice, and for trying to save my package earlier." Rukido responded with a tired smile.
"No problem. Those two tend to get angry with each other over the smallest things." The boy said, a bit annoyed. It was very, very annoying. Especially since he was the one who usually had to break it up. "Can't do much about Natsu though. He's just a ball of destruction."
"Yeah, I got that." Rukido said before lifting his hand up. "Rukido."
"Corvus." The Boy introduced himself.
"So, Ice Magic huh?" The Courier asked.
"Yeah, comes in handy believe it or not." Corvus said before raising an eyebrow. "What about you? All I felt was some Lightning Magic, but it didn't feel...normal to say the least."
"Too dangerous, don't wanna make the Guild Hall collapse on my first day after all." Rukido said with a small chuckle. He held up his hand as blue electricity coursed around it. "This...Lighting God Slayer Magic."
"...Let me guess, a Lightning God trained you to use it." Corvus said as Rukido quirked an eyebrow. "Natsu uses Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. His dad, the Fire Dragon Igneel, taught him."
"Really now? How interesting." Rukido said, lowering his hand and turning off his magic.
"So your dad's a Lightning God?" Corvus asked.
"No, he was an ass. Haven't seen him in about...seven years now." The Courier confessed as he looked outside. "As for my mentor? He's just that...though his wife definitely knew how to be the doting mother."
"...You know I'm not gonna believe you got trained by a God right?" Corvus said.
"Doesn't matter to me if you do or you don't. You believe what you want to believe, I ain't gonna force you." Rukido said with a shrug.
"Well, nice to know mister god here doesn't have a huge lighting rod up his ass." Rukido let out a small scoff at that before allowing a smirk on his face. "Welcome to Fairy Tail, you've traded in your sanity for membership."
"No fun being sane anyway. Not unique." Rukido said, taking the ice off. He looked at him for a moment before deciding to ask. "So...you're blind?"
"Well you picked that up faster than most." Corvus chuckled as he lifted up his blindfold. His eyes were simply white with greyish-blue pupils, ever so calm. "I've been like this since I was born. Guess I kinda gave it away with the whole feeling thing."
"It was a bit obvious." Rukido said as Corvus pulled his blindfold back down. "So...tell me about Fairy Tail."
"Trust me, I got a lot to say about this place." Corvus said with a small grin.
A new beginning for a mage starts now.
