The University Life.
Lily Evans sat up in bed, sighing. She brushed a strand of deep red hair out of her eyes and pulled back the covers, hopping out of bed. Today was the day she found if she got into the University she wanted to go to. Hogwarts University for the gifted was a very prestigious school and only offered a couple of scholarships a year. She opened her door and ran down the stairs quickly. She nearly ran into her older sister, Petunia, who gave her a look of deepest loathing. Lily stopped, sighing sadly, then walked slowly into the kitchen. There was a letter by her seat, and her parents were watching it as if it was about to fly in the air and start screaming at them. Lily grinned when she saw it, and sat down, ripping the envelope open. She had registered the Hogwarts seal and couldn't wait to open it. She read it quickly, then read it again, just to make sure. She looked up at her parents, excitement shining in her emerald eyes. Petunia stomped into the kitchen, looking irritable.
"Mum, Dad, I'm going to see Vernon. Lily, don't be sad that you didn't get in, Hogwarts doesn't accept FREAKS," Petunia spat, stomping back out of the kitchen.
Lily sighed sadly, then turned back to her parents, who were watching her with worried eyes. She grinned at them, grabbing a piece of toast. Her parents kept looking at her expectantly.
"I got in. Mum, Dad, I got in," Lily said, grinning excitedly.
"Well done, darling. When does term start?" Lily's mother asked.
They continued discussing the details through breakfast. When they finished, Lily ran upstairs and opened her phone, listening to 'All The Young Dudes' and texting her best friends. Alice and Molly Prewett had also applied to Hogwarts University.
The Gay Gals:
Lilsy: Did you guys get your letters yet?
Mollen: Yup, what about you?
Lilsy: Yup...did you get in?
Ali: Yeah, we both did...What about you?
Lilsy: I did too!
Mollen: Cooool! That is amazing. We get to go to Uni together. :)
Lilsy: I know...I wonder what it will be like?
Ali: Yeah
Ali: I've heard it is so cool
Ali: Apparently the headmaster is really nice and let's everyone get away with stuff.
Mollen: I heard there are parties nearly every night!
Lilsy: Which building are you guys in?
Mollen: I believe I am in Godric Gryffindor?
Ali: I'm in Helga Hufflepuff. Apparently they have their own cafeteria and you can visit it at any time.
Lilsy: I am in Godric Gryffindor too...I think. Le
Lilsy: Let me check.
Lilsy: Yes I am.
Mollen: That is so exciting. Did you know that Arthur is going there as well. How exciting is that.
Ali: Which building is he in?
Mollen: Godric Gryffindor.
Mollen: Isn't it exciting.
Lilsy: As much as I love hearing about your boyfriend, do you guys wanna meet up soon. I am so bored.
Lilsy: also, they made a group chat for new students.
Mollen: Did they?
Ali: Oh yeah they did.
Lilsy: Are you two in the same room, texting and not talking?
Lilsy: Just wondering
Ali: Nope. I am about to start work.
Mollen: I am at home. But I am meeting Arthur now, so I have to go
Mollen: Bye.
Ali: My shift is starting now, bye guys.
Lilsy: Bye.
Lily smiled as the song 'We Are Young' came on. She decided to check out the University group chat.
Lilsy has joined the group chat.
Lilsy: Hello?
Lilsy: Anyone else here?

Lilsy: Hello.
Lilsy: My name is Lily Evans.
MarlsTheBoss: I am Marlene, but you can call me Marls. I hate my name.
Lilsy: It's quite pretty.
MeadoweGirll has joined the group chat.
MarlsTheBoss: Hey Dorky. How are you?
MeadoweGirll: Hey Marls. I'm fine.
Lilsy: Hi, my name is Lily Evans.
MeadoweGirll: My name is Dorcas Meadowes.
Lilsy: So, you and Marls know each other.
MeadoweGirll: We have been friends since childhood. Her family lives next door.
Lilsy: Cool.
Lilsy: So, what courses are you doing?
Lilsy: I am doing Creative Writing and Education and Teaching.
MeadoweGirll: Cool. I am doing Fine Art and Photography.
MarlsTheBoss: I am doing Journalism and Creative Writing.
The First Day.
Lily sat in her car, Queen playing loudly through the speakers. She pulled up into the car park of Hogwarts and grinned slightly. Molly and Alice were with her, and they all stepped out the car. As they were there on a scholarship, they had to go and see Headmaster Dumbledore first. They saw a small building, with the words 'Headmaster Dumbledore' and underneath 'Feel free to come in anytime for help'. Molly knocked on the door apprehensively.
"Come In," A voice commanded.
They opened the door and filed in. The room was spacious, filled with bookshelves and odd little silver trinkets. There was a large birdstand, with an eagle perched on top of it. There was a large desk in the middle of the room, and behind it sat a rather old man with long silver hair and a long silver beard. The girls went back to staring at the large eagle nervously.
"He won't hurt you. His name is Fawkes. Now, please could you introduce yourselves," Dumbledore said.
"My name is Lily Evans," Lily said politely.
Dumbledore smiled in recognition and turned his twinkling blue eyes on the twin.
"Alice and Molly Prewett," Alice said nervously, raking her hands through her short pixie cut.
"Are you, by any chance, related to Fabian and Gideon Prewett?" The old headmaster asked, smiling crookedly.
Lily grinned. Somehow, Gideon and Fabian had managed to get in on a scholarship and had wreaked havoc the entire time they had been here. Lily had enjoyed hearing the stories of the pranks they pulled from Molly and Alice.
"They're are our older brothers," Molly replied, looking at her feet.
Dumbledore chuckled slightly, and explained all about the school, giving them maps and telling them where they're dorms were. They set off, splitting up with Alice by the Helga Hufflepuff building. They carried on walking, past the Salazar Slytherin building and the Rowena Ravenclaw building, until the got to the Godric Gryffindor building. They walked in, up the stair to find their dorms. Lily saw her name on one of the dorms and said goodbye to Molly, promising to text her later. She was in a dorm with a girl called Mary Mcdonald, who obviously hadn't arrived yet. She started unpacking her things, putting her record player under the bed. It had been a gift from her sister, before Petunia had started hating her. She put her books in the small shelves and hung up photos of her family as well as her, Alice, Molly and another friend of theirs called Remus Lupin. His family had moved last year and they didn't see each other as much nowadays. She put some plants on the window sill, and hung her clothes neatly in the wardrobe. Then, she plugged in her record player and started playing some ABBA quietly. She pulled out her book, 'House of Earth and Blood'. About ten minutes later, the door opened, and another girl came in. She had golden skin and long, rather curly black hair. She smiled at Lily and then walked over to the other side of the room.
"Nice music taste," the girl said, grinning.
Lily blushed, saying thanks. She couldn't be developing a crush on her roommate. That would be stupid. It would go away soon, she knew it. Those feelings always did. Lily stood up and smiled at the newcomer, sticking her hand out.
"My name's Lily Evans, what's yours?" She asked politely.
"Mary, Mary Mcdonald," the girl replied.
They went back to silence, Mary decorating her side of the dorm. Lily decided to text Remus, since she hadn't for ages.
The Bestie Chatttt!
Lilsy: Hey Remus, how are you? We haven't texted for ages!
Remmy: Hey Lils. I'm great. Did ya get into Hogwarts?
Lilsy: Yes. It is so exciting.
Remmy; Cool, what building are ya in?
Lilsy: Gryffindor, why?
Remmy: Well, ya see I also applied, secretly. Sorry I didn't tell ya.
Remmy: Anyway, I got in, and I'm also in Gryffindor!
Lilsy: That is so COOL! We are texting Al and Moll. Right now. And we are meeting outside Gryffindor as well.
Remmy: Sure.
Lily grinned. She opened up another group chat.
Cokeworth Kidz.
Lilsy: Remus here kept a secret from us!
Mollen: No, he didn't, did he?
Ali: Remmy, how could you?
Remmy: Sorry guys.
Ali: It's fine, we were joking.
Ali: Anyway, what's the secret?
Lilsy; He applied here too.
Lilsy: and he got in
Lilsy: We are meeting outside Gryffindor in a second.
Remmy: See ya there!
Lily got up, shoving on a pair of shoes. She said a hurried bye to her roommate and ran out the door. On the way downstairs she nearly slammed into Molly, and they ran together until they made it outside. They sat on the grass, and soon enough Alice joined them, after she had run from Hufflepuff. 5 minutes later, Remus appeared, followed by some guys Lily didn't know. Alice got up and ran straight towards him, giving him a giant hug. Lily and Molly giggled and the surprised look on his face and the very perplexed look on the other guys faces. Eventually Alice let go, and led Remus over towards them. Everyone sat down with them on the grass. Lily recognized Marlene and Dorcas from the pictures they had sent each other so if they saw each other on campus they would recognize each other. She got up, dragged them over and sat down again. They sat down with her.
"Hey, Jamesy boy, how are you," Marlene said, grinning one of the boys.
He had very tanned skin and mischievous brown eyes.
"Leave me alone Marly, you know I hate that nickname," The boy replied, rolling his eyes good-naturedly.
"Hehe, Jamesie. Now that is a good nickname," One of the other boys replied with a hint of a french accent.
"Heya Lils, Moll, Al, how're ya doin'?" Remus asked, grinning.
"We're fine," Molly replied, smiling back.
"And how's Arthur. Still the king of ya heart?" Remus teased.
"Shut up," Molly said, blushing, "Anyway, there he is now."
Molly stood up and ran after him, dragging him by the arm back to everyone else. Remus smiled politely at him.
"Okay everyone, introductions. My name, as most of ya know, is Remus Lupin. I am doin' psychology and sociology," Remus said.
"My name is Lily Evans. I am doing Creative writing and teaching," Lily introduced herself.
"My name is James Potter, and I am doing psychology and criminology," It was the boy who Marlene had called James.
He messed up his hair with one hand, winking at Alice. Alice glared at him.
"My name is Alice, I am doing nursing and midwifery," Alice said, smiling around at everyone.
"I am Alice's twin, Molly. I'm doing Creative writing and journalism," Molly stated.
"I am the absolutely fabulous Sirius Black, and I am doing fine art and drama," The French boy stated proudly, looking at Remus for a second.
"I am Marlene Mckinnon, call me Marls, am doing the same as Molly," Said Marlene," We even share a dorm," She added.
"I am Dorcas Meadowes and I do fine art and photography," Dorcas grinned at everyone.
"I'm Peter Pettigrew, and I am doing Engineering and Technology," the small boy next to James muttered quietly.
Dorcas suddenly spotted someone and beckoned them over. They came over and sat down next to Lily, who realized it was Mary Mcdonald. She stopped herself from blushing and said hello. She explained what they were doing and Mary grinned.
"My name is Mary Mcdonald, and I am doing Archeology and Anthropology," She was grinning enthusiastically. The group sat on the grass and chattered for ages, until they all decided it was getting late and they went back to their dorms.
The Hufflepuff Party
Lily Evans had been at Hogwarts University for the gifted for about two weeks, and she was thoroughly enjoying it. She didn't have to work as hard as she expected, and she had an amazing group of friends. The only annoying thing was the fact that her crush on Mary hadn't gone away. If anything, it had grown stronger. She sighed and checked her phone. She had so many messages, which was the only downside of being friends with the marauders.

Bambi: Are you guys going to the party?
Snuffles: Duh
Remmy: You'll drag me along anyway so sure
PeteyPett: Can't. Gotta stay in cause I forgot to do some stuff.
MaryMcFairy: What party?
Ali: The Hufflepuff one. You should definitely come.
Mollen: I'm coming. I am bringing Arthur too!
MarlyTheBoss: I'm taking Dorcas.
MeadoweGirll: She is making me go. I wanted to stay in and watch Vera.
Snuffles: Why would you want to stay in and watch Vera when you could get drunk.
MeadoweGirll: Cause I'm sensible?
MeadoweGirll: I don't really know
MaryMcFairy: What time is the party?
Bambi: I dunno actually
Ali: just come whenever
Ali: it is literally starting now anyway.
Lilsy: there's a party?
Ali: where were you?
Lilsy: Learning. Anyway, I am coming over now, with Mary
MaryMcFairy: She is just changing.
Lilsy: Did you have to tell them that?
MaryMcFairy: Yes, obviously.
Lily laughed, pushing Mary. They walked out the dorm and down the stairs, onto the path. They followed the winding path past the Ravenclaw and Slytherin building until they reached Helga Hufflepuff. They walked inside. Each building had a common room on the ground floor for students to hang out, and the Hufflepuff one was filled with people and music, as well as lights. They saw Alice, Remus, Molly and Arthur in the crowd and walked over to them.
"Hey guys, watcha doin'?" Remus asked, grinning at them.
"Joining you, obviously," Lily said.
Soon they were joined by their entire friend group.
About an hour into the party, Lily found herself alone in the sea of people. Marlene and Dorcas had disappeared to some dark corner and everyone else had made excuses and left. Lily spotted James, talking to someone who looked very like Sirius. It wasn't Sirius though, because he wouldn't have had time to change into a completely different outfit and Lily knew he definitely would not kiss James. She was puzzled for a minute, and then remembered Sirius talking about his twin brother, who was apparently the only member of Sirius's family, other than Sirius himself, who wasn't crazy. Lily looked away again, feeling lonely. She decided to leave and go back to the dorm, seeing as she was already rather drunk and didn't want to get completely hammered. She walked outside into the cool night air, an then turned in the direction of the Gryffindor building. She heard someone call her name and turned around abruptly. It was Mary.
"Are you going back? If so, can I join you. I don't want to get too drunk because I have to get up early tomorrow," Mary said in a rush.
"Sure. I didn't want to get too drunk either, and I felt rather lonely," Lily replied.
The two girls walked in comfortable silence. They made it back to the dorm without talking, and Lily felt quite sad. They both took turns changing into pyjamas in the bathroom.
"Goodnight, Mary," Lily said.
Mary stared at her for a second, then leaned in and kissed her. Lily was shocked for a second, but kissed her back eagerly.
"I am so sorry,"Mary said, " I know you're straight, I don't know what came over me!"
"First of all, don't apologize. And second of all, I'm not straight. I'm pan. And thirdly, I kissed back," Lily said.
Mary grinned, and kissed her again. The two girls relaxed against each other.
The Parental Conundrum.
Lily sat up, quickly pulling the book off her face. She looked around, disorientated, and realized she had fallen asleep in a hidden corner of the Common room. Mary was still sleeping next to her, snoring slightly. Lily smiled, then frowned when she heard the sound of sirius raising his voice. She turned to girlfriend, who had woken up with a start. It had been about a month since the hufflepuff party, and they had started dating. Funnily enough, Sirius and Remus had also gotten together during the hufflepuff party, as well as James and Regulus. Marlene and Lily had already been together for a week before the party. Alice had a crush on a boy in Hufflepuff , called Frank Longbottom. Arthur had proposed to Molly last week and she had agreed. Although they were both so young, they were very obviously soulmates. Mary tapped Lily on the shoulder and they quietly crept nearer the sound of raised voices. Lily checked her watch. It was three o'clock in the morning! They were finally able to see the people and Lily narrowed her eyes in surprise. It was Regulus and Sirius, along with who Lily presumed was their parents. Mary texted her and told her she was going to call Dumbledore, whose number was written on several posters around the school. Lily crept a bit closer and could finally hear what they were arguing about.
"No, we are taking you both home. Making friends with scholarship students and the Potters? It is a disgrace. Not to mention dating a scholarship student and a Potter, male ones especially. How dare you? And to find it out from the Malfoys? You will come home, get married to the women we choose for you and you will be happy! Do you understand?" The women said in a similar french accent, prodding Sirius and Regulus in the chest as she advanced on them, shouting.
"No, Mother, we don't understand!" Regulus said, ducking as she made to slap him.
"Reggie, don't," Sirius hissed.
The women slapped Sirius.
"Sirius Black, you will listen to me, no talking when I am talking. Honestly, wasn't it enough when your cousin Andromeda went off and married that factory worker, Tonks, then got a job! Women should be at home looking after the children!" The women sniffed, haughtily.
Lily's blood boiled. A girl made her way into the room, her waist length, wild curls bouncing.
"Helo, Siri. So glad your coming home, Bloodtraiter!" The girl said, growling the last word.
Lily shuddered. She didn't know what a blood traitor was, but she guessed it was probably something to do with families with titles who married into families without titles. She stepped out from her hiding place, glaring.
"Leave Sirius and Regulus alone!" She stated bravely, glaring.
"Oh look, Aunty Walburga, a peasant. She should know better than to talk back to her superiors," The dark haired girl growled, a crazy glint in her eye.
She wore a long dark dress with a corset, as well as large black boots and dark lace gloves. Lily glowered more at her, rolling her eyes to show she wasn't intimidated.
"Bellatrix, she isn't worth your time. We're leaving. Sirius, Regulus, come on," The man commanded, glaring at the curly haired girl.
"They're not going with you," Mary said, standing confidently next to Lily.
"No, we're not," Regulus and Sirius chorused.
The man walked over to the girls, towering above them. He slapped Mary right in the face, at the same time that Walburga slapped Sirius and Dumbledore came storming in with Professor Mcgonagall. An angry discussion followed, along with child services being called. Eventually, Mr and Mrs Potter showed up as well. Walburga and Orion were arrested for child abuse, and Mr and Mrs Potter adopted Sirius and Regulus on the spot. So, as they say, all's well that ends well.
