A little snippet I had to do after watching "Eda's Requiem."
.
.
.
I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING!
Luz tried her hardest to reign in her sobs, but with each point of her finger at the documents splayed out on the table, her crumbling facade kept breaking even more.
"Sign here…a-and here…and initial here…"
And every time she moved her finger, a pen took it's place, the ink constantly being smeared as big, wet, hot, salty tears dripped down Eda's face and onto the paper as she cried, her heart swelling with love and joy as she filled out the last space on the document that would officially make King her own son…
The tiny demon actually keeping a much better hold of himself as the two ladies.
"Jeez Eda," King said with an amused laugh, "if I didn't know any better, I would say you actually cared about me."
Before King could even react, Eda reached over and pulled the little fur-ball into a bone-crushing hug, her wails filling the Owl House as she held King close.
"OF COURSE I CARE…YOU'RE MY LITTLE DEMON NOW!"
And it was at that moment, a strong feeling came over King. But rather than let it show, he decided to tease Eda a little bit.
"Fine," he said almost as if he were bored, "but I'm not calling you mom."
And upon being held at arms length from Eda, King's playful demeanor instantly crumpled to dust as he saw her tear-filled eyes, his own eyes filling with the cursed liquid as he jut out his tiny arms with a wail.
"I'LL CALL YOU MAMA!"
And before long, the three occupants of the Owl House were wrapped in a huge group hug as their sobs of joy bounced off the walls.
