C1: The News
Keith
I sighed angrily as I entered the school. I really don't want to be here today even though my friends are here. I walked through the mass of students to get to my locker. Opening the damn door was difficult as per usual. Grabbing my books I sensed someone behind me. Turning around I saw a familiar jacket. The way Lance was standing made it look like he was about to scare me.
"You know you can't sneak up on me. Right?" I asked him. Lance was obviously not happy at being caught.
"Damn it!" The were-wolf yelled.
"Did you honestly think you'd be able to?" I asked as I started to walk to class.
"Maybe." Was all he said. I felt a little better being with him. To be honest I really liked Lance. In fact I never felt this way about anyone before. I thought I did, before I died, but the feelings I get with Lance is incredible. It was hard to describe. I really hoped that we could be more than friends but I knew that was impossible. I'm not a were-wolf. I'm nothing more than a dirty blood-sucker. I hated being a vampire.
"Keith you okay?" Lance asked me. I didn't realize I had stopped walking till now. Lance was standing in front of me looking worried.
"I'm fine." I tell him, pushing my way into class.
"Keith! Lance! Over here!" Pidge yelled from where she sat. I smiled and sat next to the witch. "Did you guys hear the news?!"
"What news?" I asked.
"There's going to be a Blood Moon next week! Do you know what this means?!" Pidge asked.
"No." I answered.
"Keith the Blood Moon is the most powerful moon there is. It only occurs once every two to three years." Lance said excitedly.
"No wonder I never heard of it. I've only been a vampire for about a year." I told them.
"Oh that's right! We forgot you're still new." Hunk said joining in on the conversion. "Well the Blood moon is basically the biggest power source that any supernatural creacher can use. For us Nightmarchers the Blood Moon gives us incredible amounts of energy that can be used in different ways."
Pidge gave a thoughtful hum and then said: "Yeah. Witches get more power then anyone can imagine. All potions made on the night of the Blood Moon are incredibly powerful."
"For were-wolves it gives us the power to find our soulmates. When a wolf transforms they would be about to sense their mate. The only thing is that a wolf has to be seventeen and up to do it." Lance told us.
"Didn't your seventeenth birthday just pass?" I asked him.
"Yep! I'm going to find my mate this year!" So that's why he's so excited. He's going to meet the love of his life this year. Sadness filled me at the thought of losing him but I guess you can't lose what you really never had. We're friends and that is it. My feeling for him wouldn't change that. I just hope Lance's mate wouldn't make him stop being friends with me. I stopped thinking my depressing thoughts when Pidge started to shake me.
"Yo Keith! Class is over with." She told me.
"Alright I'm coming." I told her. Pidge and I have the same Art class right after Math, so we walked together. Lance and Hunk went in the opposite direction after saying bye.
