The city of Hillsdale's lights shined brightly in the night. The skyscrapers seemed to stretch into the clouds, while the buildings sprawled out in every direction.

Although the newly built city could not hold a candle to the mega-cities such as New York or Los Angeles, it was nonetheless impressively big given its recent development. No, perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was so massive directly as a result of being recently developed. Having access to the modern wonders of technology and machines allowed this enormous city to be erected in a mere half-century, with a staggering population of one hundred thousand individuals.

These individuals had all been lured by the prospects of the government's promises of improved infrastructure and services, and they were not left wanting. The newly built city was dubbed the "City of Tomorrow" for its technology that was decades ahead of the rest of the country, struggling to modernize.

It was a testament to the power of science and innovation, a promise that showed what the future held. The possibilities and potential that lay in moving forward.

Incidentally, the primary export of the city was not natural resources such as oil or gas, nor was it a city of indulgence like its sister city Snowfield. Instead, it was a hub that specialized in the research and development in nearly every field imaginable. From medicines that targeted reducing heart risk, to user interface with machine devices, there was development in every market that was being pursued in Hillsdale. Anything was possible in the city of tomorrow.

Nonetheless, the city was still a city, and had every facet that could be found in other cities, including a hotels for visitors, a police department, an entertainment district, and even a military base on the outskirts.

Looking from a vantage point of one of the skyscrapers, one could see it lay at the crossroads of several biomes. To the north was a lustrous forest, while the south harbored a scraggly desert. In the east was a lake that helped supply the city's main water supply, while the west contained a mountain that blocked the setting sun.

Stepping back to fully understand the scale at this bustling metropolis, many wondered why the government had sunk so much revenue into investing in the city. Sure, it had paid off, but there must have been some underlying reason to suddenly build a city from scratch.

Now, this seventy billion dollar and over sixty-year investment was about to come into fruition. Unbeknownst to the majority of the city's inhabitants, on this night, six years after the holy grail war in Fuyuki, the leylines that intersected under the city swelled with magical energy. The formation of the greater grail had begun, and with it, the classes that great heroes of history would be summoned into.

Yet there was something off about this war. The location of the leylines and the center of the city was almost too perfect, as though the city had been purposely built on top of the intersection. Indeed, it was almost as though the development of the sixty year city that was now a self-sustaining leading tech hotspot had all been arranged.

From their vantage in the penthouse of the central tower a shadowy figure stood over their masterpiece, with a smile, looking down with a glimmer in their eyes as though they were going to devour the city itself.

Author's Note: I want to put an overview of the layout of the story. Although the figures listed in the tags will certainly play a central role in the plot, the large majority of the characters are going to be OC's in this new war. Similarly, the story will be based on the concept present in Fate/Strange Fake, but only loosely connected in universe. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the following story that is an expression of the love I have for the Fate universe.
