Godzilla vs Desghidorah
Part One:
"Prologue"
It was a sunny day. The year was 2004. It had been a long fight until the twin Mothra larvae and Kiryu had finally and seemingly defeated Godzilla, allowing Kiryu to sink itself and Godzilla into the Japan Trench, so, that the original Godzilla's soul could finally rest in peace and the current Godzilla could heal up from his wounds. However, Godzilla had managed muster up a lot of strength in order to claw himself out of the cocoon and escape out of Kiryu's clutches. Now, he rose out of the ocean, gave a roar to the shores of Tokyo, before, turning around and heading home. As soon as he reached his home, Monster Island, he made it past the beach to his favorite spot, laid down on the ground, and slowly closing his eyes, intending to rest from the battle. A tiny flying Mothra, known as Fairy Mothra, and two girls named Moll and Lora were hovering over him. They exchanged glances and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Is he alright?" Lora asked.
"He's fine now, but, you can tell that the battle he was involved in had managed to exhaust him, especially with those wounds of his." Moll pointed at the wound Kiryu's drill hand left in Godzilla's gut and the scar on his chest, before, shooting off her healing powers to help him heal the wounds.
"I wonder if his ancestor's bones are back in their resting place. Our cousins and Mothra had told Doctor Chujo and the Japanese government to put them back or else face wrath. I just hope his ancestor could find eternal peace now." Lora was also shooting her healing powers and combined them with Moll's.
"I'm pretty sure that they have, Lora, because, no human being is to touch the souls of the dead." Moll nodded.
"I just hope that the humans learn to trust Godzilla. I mean, after all, he was only invading Tokyo just to get revenge for his ancestor's bones being disturbed, the years of hurt that the humans have inflicted on him, and the hatred they have had towards him. I just wonder why Mothra turned against him." Lora said.
"I don't know. We'll have to touch base with our cousins in order to find that out, but, then again, all may be forgiven. However, I sense that someone has a deep connection to Godzilla, deeper than anyone could imagine, but, that someone is across the world." Moll had a perplexed look in her eye.
"I wonder who that someone is and where across the world that person could be. Also, I wonder when Godzilla is due to lay an egg." Lora rested her head on her hand.
"It's a wonder he still has it growing inside of him. I mean after that drill and the absolute zero cannon were used on him, one would figure that he would've lost it." Moll tapped Fairy Mothra, instructing her to fly down closer to the slumbering Godzilla.
On Infant Island
The Mothra twin larvae and the Cosmos finally arrived to their home. The larvae chirped up a conversation to each other, while the Cosmos teleported to a nearby rock, sat down, and stared out into the horizon. They were relieved and happy that the battle was over, the larvae avenged their mom, and most importantly, that the original Godzilla's soul could finally rest in eternity and that the human race finally/seemingly learned a valuable lesson. However, they sensed trouble that felt all too familiar. This trouble was going to cost lives and devastation just like it did back in 1996. Pretty soon, a looming shadow swept over Infant Island. The Cosmos stood up and teleported into a cave for safety. The Mothra larvae saw this all too familiar foe circle around them, before finally landing. The monster was Desghidorah and by the look in his eyes, he was ready to pick up where he left off. The female larva hissed at him, while the male larva crept up behind him, making a move to bite his tail, but, obviously, the larva missed, even though, that didn't stop him from trying again and this time, latching onto Desghidorah's tail. Desghidorah yelped and tried his best to shake the larva off, while the female larva started spraying her webbing around him, his heads swishing back and forth in order to miss it.
Back on Monster Island
Moll and Lora were inside a nearby volcano-shaped temple, when Lora felt the presence of Desghidorah all the way from Infant Island. They knew that this wasn't good and it meant one thing: Belvera had gotten loose from being sealed away and managed to set Desghidorah free from his tomb. Godzilla was going to have to be prepared for a battle, despite the exhaustion.
Back to Infant Island
The twin larvae were trying their absolute best to fend off Desghidorah, but, he was overpowering them. As the female larva kept on webbing him up, he started violently attacking the male larva, even causing him to bleed. The male larva was letting out cries of pain and his eyes were changing from red to blue to green and back. The Cosmos looked on, in horror and knew that there was only one other monster that could help the twin larvae, but, they knew that, that monster was sunken into the Japan Trench with Kiryu, but, they hoped that Godzilla would somehow, have enough strength to rise out of the ocean, not knowing that he had done that already. Desghidorah managed to kill the male larva and quickly turned his attack onto the female larva. Broken hearted and angry at the same time, her eyes turned red and she gave all that she could by viciously attacking the three headed dragon, only to be quickly wounded and thrashed around on the ground, also blasted around, too. The female larva kept getting blasted around and finally bitten by Desghidorah. Knowing she was going to either go unconscious or die, she let out a roar that sounded identical to her mother's.
Back on Monster Island
The piercing sound of the Mothra larva's roar reached to Godzilla's ears. He moved his tail for a bit until opening his eyes and standing up. The piercing noise grew louder and more urgent, prompting Godzilla to go out into the water and follow the sound. Seeing this, Moll and Lora hopped onto Fairy Mothra and followed Godzilla.
Meanwhile, on Infant Island
Desghidorah kept on viciously and mercilessly attacking the female Mothra larva; going from biting her to blasting her to picking her up and dropping her from high lengths. However, this little larva's will to cling to life was very strong and she was willing to take a few beatings, if it meant that she could live to see another day. The Cosmos teleported around the battle, glad that the little larva had a strong will, but, were worried that her constitution might fail due to the fact that she was still a newborn larva, having hatched from an egg just hours ago. The Cosmos knew that this baby larva was just as or even more vulnerable than her mother and that pretty soon, someone was going to have to help her fend off or even defeat Desghidorah.
However, it wouldn't be long until help started making its first appearance. The water began to rise, as if a typhoon was about to happen. Then, suddenly, large dorsal spines rose out of the ocean, looking as if coral reefs were growing out of the ocean and larger than life itself. Soon, a loud roar came from the water, followed by the sight of Godzilla's face. As the water splashed away, Godzilla started making his way toward the beach part of Infant Island, very slowly, as he too sensed trouble. The Cosmos tensed up, almost immediately, while at the same time, they were glad that Godzilla came to help. Once he reached land, he followed the sounds of the Mothra larva's cries and Desghidorah's roars. Godzilla finally approached the battle where he spotted Desghidorah biting the now unconscious Mothra larva and Desghidorah's tail moving up and down, real slowly. Godzilla looked at the unconscious larva and was almost wondering if he should really help the same larva that helped Kiryu practically defeat him. Putting that aside and somewhat forgiving what was done to him, Godzilla bit down on Desghidorah's tail, causing the three headed dragon to screech in pain and attempt to shake Godzilla off, but, to no avail. Godzilla let go of Desghidorah, grabbed him by his tail, and threw him off to the side. Desghidorah got up, turned his attention on his new foe, and flew into him, knocking him down, before, unleashing his beams. Moll and Lora flew into the battle between their beloved King of the monsters and the evil three headed dragon and observed.
"I don't see our cousins or Mothra anywhere." Lora said.
"Let's fly over to that cave thing. Maybe our cousins have taken refuge in there." Moll tapped Fairy with her foot, instructing her to fly over to the cave.
"Oh, there! I see Mothra and she is either dead or unconscious." Lora sported a sad look.
"She's unconscious. She would've been killed, if Godzilla didn't show up." The Cosmos teleported to Moll and Lora.
"Cousins! It's good to see you!" Moll was glad to see her cousins, safe and sound.
"It's good to see you, too." The Cosmos teleported onto Fairy.
"Is Mothra going to be alright?" Lora asked.
"Yes, she will be fine. She'll just need to heal after this battle ends." The Cosmos affirmed.
Godzilla picked Desghidorah up by the tail and swung him around for a while, before, letting go, causing him to be smashed against a rock pile. However, he quickly shook it off, flew towards Godzilla, in an attempt to knock him down, only for the latter to charge up his dorsal spines and blast him with his atomic heat ray, which burned a hole in Desghidorah's wing, causing him to reel back in pain. Godzilla charged up his dorsal spines and blasted Desghidorah again, this time knocking him down onto his back, wounding him. Meanwhile, Mothra regained consciousness, looked around, saw Desghidorah laying on the ground, and to her surprise, saw Godzilla standing over the three headed dragon. Mothra crawled her way toward both of them, looked up, and chirped at Godzilla. Godzilla, recognizing that chirp, looked down, saw Mothra, and stared at her. Mothra did the same to the king of the monsters, as they both took a moment to remember what they went through, before, breaking into a conversation. Moll, Lora, and the Cosmos took immediate notice of this.
"I wonder what they're saying." Lora looked on in amazement.
"Let's get in closer." Moll tapped Fairy with her foot, signaling for her to fly in closer on Godzilla and Mothra's conversation.
"Mothra said, 'I cannot believe you came to my rescue, after what my sibling, Kiryu, and I did to you just hours ago.' and Godzilla just said, 'Yes, it's a weird change of events, but, then again I have surprisingly come to forgive what happened, after my ancestor's bones were put back into their resting place and his soul was finally resting in eternity. However, I still feel his presence.'." The Cosmos translated the conversation.
Mothra tilted her head to the side, before chirping some more. Godzilla responded with grunts and growls, while moving his tail up and down.
"Mothra just said, 'So, that was your reason for attacking Tokyo, attacking Kiryu when it was controlled by the humans, and attacking my mother? You were offended by the humans, too?'." The Cosmos translated Mothra's chirps.
"Godzilla just said, 'Yes, I have been angry with the human race for a long long time. They have hurt me, irradiated me, killed off ancestors of my kind, and disturbed my ancestor from his hibernation back in 1954 from the hydrogen bomb testings. He only attacked Tokyo, because, he was angry and wanted to punish those who disturbed and hurt him. He was truly enraged. They killed him with the weapon known as the oxygen destroyer. Upon learning that, I, too, became angry with the humans and wanted to avenge him. Like always, the humans hated me and have tried to kill me a number of times.'." Moll translated Godzilla's growls and grunts.
"I feel sorry for Godzilla." Lora looked down, "He's just a tragic monster who has been trying to fit in and live in a world that has love and hatred for him. He's just misunderstood!".
"I know, Lora. My heart just aches for him. I wish the humans took responsibility for their actions and come to trust and even love Godzilla." Moll nodded.
Suddenly, Desghidorah interrupted the translations and conversation circling Godzilla and Mothra, before, attempting a dive bomb, only for Godzilla to push Mothra out of the way, charge up his dorsal spines, and blast Desghidorah, again. This time, Desghidorah's wings were wounded, but, that didn't stop him from running towards Godzilla and Mothra like an angry Bull that just saw red. Just as he was about to ram them, Godzilla bit down onto the neck of the right head, causing Desghidorah to scream in pain and blood to spurt onto Godzilla's face. The left head fired an energy bolt at Godzilla, while the middle head bit down on Godzilla's shoulder, sending an electrical surge through him. Godzilla was completely unphased by this, as, to him, it somewhat tickled. Mothra used this moment to creep up behind him and spray her webbing at Desghidorah's back, causing Desghidorah to turn his attention back at her, knocking Godzilla down in the process. Godzilla got back up, signaled for Mothra to reach higher grounds, in which she did, while he grabbed Desghidorah's tail and signaled for Mothra to do her thing. Desghidorah fought every way he could and tried to avoid Mothra's silk webbing to no avail. Moll, Lora, and the Cosmos sported smiles on their faces, as it was looking good for their side, meanwhile, off in another direction, Belvera looked on, completely irritated and even started beating on Garu Garu.
"Godzilla and Mothra are winning!" Lora happily exclaimed.
"It looks that way." Moll nodded.
As Mothra continued her web spraying, Godzilla started dragging the now nearly cocooned Desghidorah near a cliff, getting ready to throw him off. Finally, Mothra managed to completely cocoon Desghidorah and chirped at Godzilla, giving him the green light to do his thing. Godzilla threw Desghidorah off the cliff by his tail and started throwing rocks at the three headed dragon, before, giving him another dose of his atomic breath. Wounded and incapacitated, Desghidorah fled, vowing to return and seek revenge on the king/god of the monsters and the moth goddess. Mothra and Godzilla roared in victory, before, turning to each other and having another conversation. Belvera did not like this and was vowing to bring more and more death and destruction.
"Just wait Godzilla and Mothra! Just you wait! Desghidorah will be back and you both will be no more! The world is mine!" Belvera evilly laughed, before, flying off into another direction, before, she could be seen.
Mothra chirped and chittered, while Godzilla responded with growls, grunts, and short roars.
"Mothra said, 'Thank you for coming to my rescue and helping me defeat Desghidorah. I greatly appreciate that and my sibling would've, too. Also, I'm so sorry about what the human race has done to you and for not hearing you out completely. You, see, we just thought that you were causing destruction out of malevolence and we don't like malevolent things done. Again, we are so sorry for misjudging you, Godzilla.'." The Cosmos translated Mothra's chirps and chittering, again.
"Godzilla nodded and responded with, 'Don't worry, Mothra. We all make mistakes, but, we just can't repeat them. I wish man would do the same. I wish man would understand my motives and come to love me, even. It's not easy to have man go back and forth between hate and love for you. I'll try to forgive man, but, don't expect me to do so, too soon!'." Moll translated Godzilla's grunts, growls, and short roars.
Godzilla nodded at Mothra, turned around, and started walking towards the beach. Mothra's eyes returned to their blue color and she followed him, like a puppy dog. As soon as Godzilla made his move toward the ocean, Mothra chirped at him, again. Godzilla let out a gentle sound, before putting his tail right in front of her mandibles, even wiggling it, as a signal. Moll, Lora, and the Cosmos were hovering above Mothra and Godzilla, closely observing what was happening.
"Mothra just said, 'Thank you for defending what is left of my home and defending me, Godzilla. You're welcome here, anytime. However, Desghidorah managed to destroy my home and there's just burnt remains of it.'." The Cosmos translated Mothra's chirps, yet again.
"Godzilla responded, 'Why don't you come live on Monster Island with me? You're more than welcome there. It can be your safe haven. You can stay there, if you'd like. Here, I'll even let you put my tail in your mandibles and I can drag you along or you can ride on my tail.'." Lora translated Godzilla's subtle hint and gentle sounds.
Mothra, accepting Godzilla's surprisingly generous invitation/offer, made her way into the water, waiting for Godzilla. Godzilla nodded and let out a gentle sound, before, getting into the water, himself. Then, the duo began swimming their way to Monster Island, with Moll, Lora, and the Cosmos following close behind.
Monster Island
After a long swim, Godzilla and Mothra finally reached Monster Island. As soon as they reached the beach, they were both greeted by Anguirus, who stood up on his back feet and somewhat, hugged Godzilla. Mothra chirped at Anguirus, who responded by nodding his head to her. Moll, Lora, and The Cosmos smiled at the banter between the three kaiju.
"Anguirus just said, 'Godzilla, where have you been? Buddy old pal of mine, I was worried about you. I'm glad you are safe and sound! Oh, who's this little one, you brought with you?'." Moll translated Anguirus' excited roars.
"Mothra replied, 'I'm Mothra and I think I remember you from sometime ago. Your friend, Godzilla just saved me from an awful enemy named Desghidorah. He destroyed my home, Infant Island. Godzilla was so generous to my surprise and offered me to stay here for a while. You know? He is not as bad as I had thought. Actually, he isn't bad at all!'." The Cosmos translated Mothra's chirp to Anguirus.
"Looks like Mothra is starting to think highly of Godzilla. That's good!" Lora was clearly happy.
Godzilla, clearly exhausted from the battle, went over to his favorite spot, got down on the ground, and closed his eyes. Mothra, also tired from a long fight, crept up onto a rock next to Godzilla and began to slumber, as well. Anguirus went off into another direction, met up with Rodan, and started playing volleyball, using a rock. Baragon soon joined in, along with Manda and King Caesar. Moll, Lora, and the Cosmos smiled and even started laughing a little bit at the monsters having a volleyball-like match. It looked pretty fun.
Off somewhere in a distance, Belvera was flying around, vowing her vengeance on Godzilla and Mothra for dispatching Desghidorah like they did. She knew when she was going to unleash Desghidorah, again, but, she also knew that she had to wait when the time was right. She wanted her sisters and cousins to pay for sealing her away like that and she wanted to bring the world to its knees. She knew when she would strike; maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow, but, she would strike again and Desghidorah would strike again, as well. Just you wait!
