Note: Hello, and welcome to a new story of mine called Sword Art Online: The Devil Inside. This story will be taking To Love Ru: Gender Swap's spot of the month until I can figure out where I want to take the story. As you probably know, I have a One-Shot story that has a similar name to this one. That story (which I consider the beta stage of the story) is me testing the waters, trying to figure out what I want to do for this story. Now that I know what I want to do for the story, it is now a go.
Also, just to let you know, I will be throwing in my ideas for this story and tweaking some events and aspects of the story in the SAO universe. In short, I won't be following the full story 100%, And I do want to give my take on the story. If you guys don't mind that, then welcome aboard. If you do mind, then... well... You might want to look elsewhere. Despite me giving you the heads-up, I hope you guys are willing to stay and give this story a chance.
Also, I would like to thank Alvin D-Rod and Axel Emiya for helping me put this chapter/story together. So go check out their stories after you are finished reading this chapter.
Anyways, with no further ado, let's get started on this chapter.
Chapter One:
October 25th, 2023:
In a castle, on floor two, a guild goes by the name Laughing Coffin. Everyone that was part of Laughing Coffin would always wear black robes and black hoods to cover their heads.
One member named Yaxcon was torturing a player who had the unfortunate luck of being captured by them.
"Hm, we still have to make the paralysis not as effective to allow the players to feel pain, but keep them still not able to move. Maybe a less dosage," said Yaxcon.
Just then, a member of the guild named Xaxes came in.
"Yaxcon, are you just about done?" Asked Xaxes.
Yaxcon shows a joyful smile as he nods at the other players, and he gets up from torturing one unlucky player.
"Yes, this poor sap's HP is just about to hit zero. Could you do me a favor and get prisoner B? I think it's about time we put him out of his misery," grinned Yaxcon.
"Very well," Xaxes tells Yaxcon back with his honest tone, and his eyes were ready to end their lives.
Xaxes went down to the basement of their lair, where they were holding their prisoners. Out of all the prisoners that they had in the past, prisoner Blasted the longest. But it was now time to put it into his misery.
Xaxes opens the door to prisoner B's cell, but prisoner B was nowhere to be found, to his surprise.
"What the? Where the hell is he?!" Asked Xaxes.
Little did Xaxes know, a pair of red eyes appeared behind him, and the owner of those eyes grinned sadistically. He slowly but quietly took out his dagger, grabbed Xaxes by the mouth to prevent him from screaming, and began to stab him repeatedly with his dagger, all while grinning sadistically while doing so.
"That's right; you're my bitch now, you sack of shit!" Said Prisoner B.
Xaxes had many poison knives and blades inside of him. Truly, this man was a man that loved to torture his victims.
"Xaxes almost sounds like... No... No, it's not him; his name only has four letters, not five," said Prisoner B, "But still, his name starts with an x; it's a start."
After pushing the take-all button, prisoner B opened the menu and went to the advance options tab. One of those options showed his changed Avatar name, he clicked on that, and the name prisoner B popped up before him. Prisoner B was about to change his name to his original name, but he hesitated. He couldn't remember what his name was. It felt like he was stuck here for years, and because the members of The Laughing coffin kept calling him prisoner B, he eventually forgot what his name was. a name that the Laughing coffin Guild forced him to rename. Instead of remembering what his name was, he remembered that Xaxes's name started with an x. So he took out the name prisoner B and replaced it with X. Just X, nothing more than that.
"Since I can't remember what my original name was," he grins, I'll get them to name one for me."
The newly named X then steps out of his cell and embraces the light. Here we can see what he looked like. X was 5'8 feet tall, weighed 170, well built, has black spiky hair and red eyes. He was wearing a ragged tan tank top and ragged shorts. He also had a tattoo on his left hand, showing a jet black open coffin, and the eyes and mouth had a dark blue color.
X then opens the menu, equipped his new knives, and begins making his way to the torture room.
He was going to have a lot more fun torturing the torturer. X arrived at the torture room and saw the torturer, Yaxcon washing his hands.
"Ah, Xaxes back with prisoner B, I see. Just put them on the table," said Yaxcon, mistaking X for Xaxes.
We see that Yaxcon had the same tattoo as X, but the coffin was pure black and the eyes and mouth were white instead of blue.
X grins and starts walking towards Yaxcon.
"Sorry, but Xaxes couldn't make it," said X.
Realizing that the voice he just heard did not belong to Xaxes, he quickly turns around to face Xaxes, only to get a paralyze knife to his shoulder, making him fall to his back.
"Shit," said Yaxcon.
"Tell me, Doc, how does it feel tasting your own fucking medicine. You guys always seem to paralyze your victims before you kill them, so tell me, how does it feel tasting your own medicine?" Grinned X.
X then uses his poisonous dagger to stab Yaxcon with it and twists the blade to add more pain. Yaxcon sees his HP meter decreasing and began to panic.
"No, please don't kill me!" Begged Yaxcon.
"What's this, you're begging me not to fucking kill you? How many poor saps have begged you not to kill them when you have them in this position. I bet you've killed so many innocent players that you've lost count," said X, continuing to move his blade around inside Yaxcon.
"Ah! No, please, if you continue to kill us, you turn into a red player, just like us!" Said Yaxcon.
"You think I give a fuck; I don't care how many I have to kill to get out of here; I'm getting the fuck out of this place while you like it or not!" Shouted X.
X kills Yaxcon and watches his body turn into nothing. After killing Yaxcon, a window popped up, revealing Yaxcon's name and his entire inventory. After pushing the take-all button, X went to the mirror to look at himself.
"Looks like the hair dye I created worked out well," said X.
X opened the menu and went to the advance options tab. One of those options showed a change of Avatar's name, he clicked on that, and the name X popped up before him. He then added a Y beside the X, now remaining himself, Xy.
After renaming himself, he began to make his way up the stairs. He wanted to travel back to the normal grounds and escape from this Hellhole. But he was going to have to fight his way out. Xy made his way up the stairs and saw two guards patrolling the area.
"I believe I had enough of this," Xy told them with a firm tone.
When one guard had his back towards Xy, Xy quickly grabs the guard and slits his throat, making him vanish. When Xy killed the guard, a screen appears before Xyaqom, revealing his name was Axialtom. After pushing the take-all button, he moved up to the next guard, eating lunch. He quietly sneaked up on him and slit his throat. After he died, the guard vanished out of sight. After, a screen appears before Xyaqom, revealing his name was Qwatum.
After pushing the take-all button, Xy opened the menu and went to the advance options tab. One of those options showed his changed Avatar's name, he clicked on that, and the name Xy popped up before him. He then added an A, Q beside the X and Y, now remaining himself, Xyaq.
After remaining himself, the newly named Xyaq went to the corner and found another two more guards. Xyaq was getting tired of sneaking around and just wanted to get out already. He then went into his inventory to see what he had and see if he had any good weapons.
He sees a dark blue blade in his inventory, which was called Corruptor. He views the sword's stats.
Corruptor: One-Handed:
Effects: +20 to attack, strength, and +10 to accuracy.
Damage: 345 damage per hit.
Xyaq grins and equips the blade. There was also another player that caught his attention, which was a dark red blade called Demise.
He views the sword's stats.
Demise: One-Handed:
Effects: +20 to attack, +20 to strength and +10 to accuracy. +20 to blood damage.
Damage: 345 damage per hit
"Nice looks like my clothes will suffer blood leakage whenever I strike.
Xyaq equips the blade, along with Corruptor, now showing two blades attached to his back.
"I'm not sure how they got these weapons, and quite frankly, I don't want to find out. However, they will do nicely," grins Xyaq.
Now armed with his two new blades, Xyaqom charges in and kills the two guards before they had time to realize what was going on. After their bodies vanished, two pop screens appeared before Xyaq, showing their names and their inventory. The two members of The Laughing coughing were named Oxialtom and Mollo.
After pushing the take-all button for both screens, Xyaq opened the menu and went to the advance options tab. One of those options showed his change of Avatar's name, he clicked on that, and the name Xyaq popped up before him. He then added O, M besides the X, Y, A, Q now remaining himself, Xyaqom.
"Xyaqom... "He grins, knowing he has found his new name, "I like it," he said, now sadistically smiling.
The newly named Xyaqom continues his way up through the fortress as he tries his best to figure out where to go next after he destroys Laughing Coffin for good.
"Since I'm here, I may as well take these bastards out. Besides, their loot too might be useful for me to take on those bosses," said Xyaqom, working his way up the stairs.
Xyaqom begins traveling upwards to the main levels and saw a bunch of Laughing Coffin members.
"Hello ass clowns," said Xyaqom.
That's when the members ran towards Xyaqom, only to get killed by him.
"Who the Hell is this guy?!" Asked one of the members.
Xyaqom slices the other member while he throws the knife inside of the second member's head. Xyaqom turns to take his knife back to slice the third member with a focus attack. All building members were trying their best to kill Xyaqom, but their best was not good enough. Plus, those blades of his were so powerful that they would kill the members with one hit.
"Come on, you freaks! Is that all you fucking got?!" Asked Xyaqom, smiling sadistically.
Xyaqom finds himself in the main doors as he kicks the door down to finds nearly all three members were gone from headquarters. They must've been away when he broke out.
Xyaqom began to head out when...
"How..." Xyaqom turns his head and sees that he missed a member.
"Oh, it looks like I missed one," said Xyaqom.
"How, how did you get the strong? You were nowhere near this strong when we captured you," said the member.
Xyaqom chuckles, "You should have killed me when you had the chance. Because all that time while you guys were torturing me, you were giving me EXP, and as the months followed, that exp kept pouring in," said Xyaqom.
Xyaqom walks towards the main member and kills him.
"Those three, I didn't see them during the onslaught. They must have been away while I got out. But don't worry, I will track them down and kill them, ending the Laughing coffin once and for all," said Xyaqom and walks out of the main doors.
Xyaqom was trying his best to figure out where to go next. He then noticed that he was still in his prisoner clothes. So he goes into his inventory to see if he could get any items during his onslaught. While scrolling through the appearance tab on his inventory, and finds "Black Shirt & Leather Jacket" and "Leather Boots," he taps on it to see what they were capable of.
Black Shirt & Leather Jacket:
+50 To Defense +5 To Vitality.
Leather Boots:
+15 To Defense
"I guess that will do for now," said Xyaqom, equipping his new armor.
Xyaqom begins to travel and worked his way up the cave, where he saw the light out of the tunnel.
"Funny, some fucking light," said Xyaqom.
He opens the menu to find the map on where the safe locations for him to rest up. He finally exists out of the cave, and he found himself in a savanna realm covered in plains and boulders.
"Finally, some fresh air; I've been cooped up in that cave for far too fucking long. Now, if my memory serves me correctly, there should be an inn near here," said Xyaqom and began making his way to his to a nearby inn.
