It was a beautiful day in San Bernardino. The ponies where going about their daily business in the town. In the castle, Annika as reading the latest Power Ponies comic on Tommy's throne when Pippi walked in holding her kite with her magic. Pippi Longstocking looked around.
"Is Tommy is still in Canterlot City?" asked Pippi.
"Yup. Her meeting with my family ran late and she decided to stay the night." answered Annika.
"I do miss her, but it's nice to have a day off." said Pippi.
"I feel the same." said Annika.
"Where are the others?" asked Pippi.
"Doing there own thing." answered Annika.
Annika turned the page of his comic.
"I take it your going kite flying." said Annika.
"Yup. It's a lovely day." confirmed Pippi.
"Hey, I'm the exact same with my comics." replied Annika.
The two shared a laugh.
"Everypony needs a hobby." shrugged Pippi.
"Totally." agreed Annika.
"So, how's the comic?" asked Pippi.
"The Mane-iac has captured the Power Ponies and i holding the captive." answered Annika.
"I'm sure they'll find a way out." replied Pippi.
"Well, I've heard a rumor they're going to reboot the series." shrugged Annika.
"Why would they do that?" asked Pippi confused.
"Breath fresh life into the series. Actually, this wouldn't be the first time either." explained Annika.
"Interesting." said Pippi.
Pippi began to walk.
"I don't mean to be rude, but I gotta get going." said Pippi.
"I understand. Have fun." said Annika.
"You too." said Pippi.
Pippi headed out of the castle. my family's sun shone day giving Pippi a warm feeling in her body. Pippi trotted off holding her kite with her magic and headed off to fly her kite. As she began making her way, she heard a series of noises. Looking over, she noticed an all too familiar wagon belonging to a stage illusionist. Pippi decided to take a detour to check up on her friend.
"Hey Trix!" called Pippi.
Pippi to go response so she got closer.
"Diamond Tiara!" called Pippi.
"Go away! Diamond Tiara is not signing autographs at the moment!" cried Diamond Tiara, from inside.
Pippi knocked on the door causing several explosion.
"Ahh!" cried Diamond Tiara.
Diamond Tiara staggered out in a cloud of smoke.
"The Great and Powerful Diamond Tiara is okay." said Diamond Tiara.
Diamond Tiara then collapsed on the ground.
"Diamond Tiara!" exclaimed Pippi concerned.
Pippi began to slap Diamond Tiara on the cheek.
"Speak to me!" called Pippi.
Diamond Tiara coughed and came too.
"Pippi Longstocking." said Diamond Tiara.
"I heard noises and wanted to see if things where okay." explained Pippi.
Diamond Tiara sat back up.
"I was looking for my hat. Then there was an explosion." recalled Diamond Tiara.
"I knocked on the door and caused it. Sorry." said Pippi remorseful.
"It's fine. Just some pyrotechnics set off." said Diamond Tiara.
Pippi walked over and rummaged through the wagon.
"Found it!" called Pippi.
"Thanks!" declared Diamond Tiara, taking the hat.
Pippi looked down and noticed the ground.
"I have a show. Gotta go." said Diamond Tiara.
Diamond Tiara hitched up her wagon and rolled it off the dirt patch.
"Bye!" called Pippi.
Pippi waved goodbye to her friend. Pippi then picked up the kite with her flag and left. She reached San Bernardino and greeted the ponies as she passed them. As she did, Pippi heard a cry. Looking over, she saw a grey pegasus mail carrier desperately trying to grab letters off the ground.
"Hey, do you need help?" asked Pippi.
The unicorn put her kite down.
"Yes please." answered Apple Bloom relieved.
Pippi used her magic to gather the letters and gave them to Apple Bloom.
"Thank you so much!" declared Apple Bloom happily.
"What happened?" asked Pippi curious.
"My bag mustn't have been closed and they fell out." answered Apple Bloom.
Apple Bloom let out a heavy sigh.
"Is something wrong?" asked Pippi.
"I'm just so glad you helped me." answered Apple Bloom.
"I think there may be more to it than that." replied Pippi.
"You're right." confirmed Apple Bloom.
"Tell me what's wrong." requested Pippi.
"I was really worried since this isn't the first time this has happened. I've lost some letters and my boss has been really mad with me recently. if you hadn't helped, I might have lost my job." explained Apple Bloom.
"Oh." gasped Pippi.
"I'm pretty sure other workers look down on me because of my eyes." continued Apple Bloom.
"There's nothing wrong with being wall eyed." stated Pippi.
"If I lose my job, I'll have no way to take care of Dinky." said Apple Bloom stressed.
"How is your daughter?" asked Pippi.
"My little muffin is great." answered Apple Bloom.
"I hope things work out and you know friends are there for you." said Pippi.
"Thank you." said Apple Bloom smiling.
Pippi and Apple Bloom said goodbye to each other. Pippi then picked up her kite with her magic and left hoping to finally fly her kite. She trotted through town and tried to avoid getting entangled in another pony's affairs. However, as she made her way through San Bernardino she suddenly heard a desperate voice. Pippi looked and saw Babs Seed standing in front of her home with her door on the ground.
"Um, what's going on?" asked Pippi.
"My stupid door came off the hinges." answered Babs Seed annoyed.
"What happened?" asked Pippi.
"I noticed it was squeaking and I tried to fix it." answered Babs Seed.
Pippi walked over and examined the remnants of the hinges.
"They where really rusty. No wonder this happened." mused Pippi.
Babs Seed let out an annoyed sigh.
"Great. Now I'm gonna be late for work." grumbled the pegasus.
"That's no good." agreed Pippi.
Pippi placed her kite down.
"I've gotta help her." thought Pippi.
Pippi looked at the door.
"Okay, the door is in condition." noted Pippi.
"Can you do something?" asked Babs Seed hopeful.
"I think so." answered Pippi.
Pippi picked up the door and put it in place.
"Can you hold it still." requested Pippi.
"Sure." answered Babs Seed.
Babs Seed held the door in place.
"Hold it still." warned Pippi.
Pippi used her magic to fuse the remnants of the metal together.
"That should hold." said the unicorn.
Pippi blew her smoking horn.
"Thank you!" exclaimed Babs Seed.
Pippi left taking her kite with her. She trotted through San Bernardino at a brisk pace hoping not to lose anymore time. Hoping to avoid distractions, Pippi left San Bernardino, sat down and began to fly her kite. However, moments after she did a large rainstorm erupted. Looking up, Pippi saw Babs Seed who waved to the unicorn. Pippi got up and ran off heading into a nearby cave.
"Hello." said a monotonous voice.
Pippi nearly jumped out of her fur and turned around.
"Oh Pinkie." sighed Pippi relieved.
"Boulder saw you come in." noted Pinkie flatly.
"What are you doing here?" asked Pippi.
"I live here." answered Pinkie.
"Oh yeah." replied Pippi, feeling silly.
Looking over, the unicorn saw water entering the caves.
"It looks like there's leaking." noted Pippi concerned.
"Yes. I am trying to patch them." explained Pinkie.
Pippi noticed her kite was drenched.
"I can help." offered Pippi.
"I would appreciate that." said Pinkie.
The two began their work. Pippi placed rocks into place with her magic while Pinkie bucked them into the holes filling them. Soon, all the holes where filled.
"Thank you." said Pinkie.
"No problem." replied Pippi.
"Why are you out here?" asked Pinkie.
"I was going to fly my kite." answered Pippi.
"I noticed." stated Pinkie.
"But, I kept getting distracted and then a rainstorm washed me out." sighed Pippi.
"I am sorry that happened." said Pinkie, sympathetic.
Pippi smiled at this.
"Thanks." sighed Pippi, stressed.
"You can stay until the storm ends." offered Pinkie.
"Thanks. I can't thank you enough." replied Pippi happily.
"You helped me. It's the least I can do." replied Pinkie.
Pippi stayed with Pinkie until the rainstorm ended. Pippi found this to be pleasant enough and she did enjoy talking to Pinkie. Once the storm ended, Pippi said goodbye and left. Pippi walked through the ran soaked San Bernardino and found the other ponies coming out do to the end of the storm. As she reached the castle, Pippi noticed Diamond Tiara's wagon was settled outside. Pippi went inside and headed to the throne room where Diamond Tiara, Tommy and Annika where.
"Pippi!" called Tommy.
Pippi came over and joined the trio.
"How was Canterlot?" asked Pippi.
"Good. I got back just after the storm ended." answered Tommy happily.
"Lucky you." sighed Pippi.
"How was your kite flying?" asked Diamond Tiara nonchalant.
Pippi let out a long sigh.
"I wasn't able to." answered Pippi.
"What happened?" asked Annika.
"I kept getting distracted." answered Pippi.
"Please, tell us what happened." requested Tommy.
Pippi took a moment.
"I was passing through San Bernardino when I noticed Apple Bloom trying to collect mail she dropped." said Pippi.
"Yeah. She has a habit of doing that." noted Annika.
"She said that and said she'd been fired if that happened again." said Pippi.
"Well, good thing you where there." said Annika.
"She talked about Dinky a it and I kinda promised we'd help her." said Pippi.
Pippi chuckled nervously, a bit guilty about volunteering her friends without them there.
"That's great and we'll be happy to help." said Tommy.
"Then I helped Babs Seed fix her door with my magic so she could get to work." continued Pippi.
"And that was helping with the rainstorm." noted Annika.
"Yup." confirmed Pippi.
"Well, its a good thing she kept her job." noted Tommy.
"Then after the storm I took shelter with Pinkie and helped her fill holes in her cave." concluded Pippi.
"I'm sure Pinkie will appreciate that." said Tommy.
"Do not forget about Diamond Tiara." said the illusionist.
"Oh yeah. I helped Diamond Tiara find her hat." noted Pippi.
"That allowed me to make my show." replied Diamond Tiara.
Diamond Tiara paused for a moment.
"You also helped Diamond Tiara in another way." noted the illusionist.
"Yeah. I helped Diamond Tiara find her hat and make her show." said Pippi.
"Not only that, but if you hadn't found my hat then my wagon would still have been on that dirt patch. The rain would have turned that to mud and I'd be stuck." explained Diamond Tiara.
Pippi hadn't expected this.
"Well, I'm sorry you weren't able to fly your kite. However, it sounds like you helped a bunch of ponies." mused Tommy.
Pippi stepped back and realized this.
"I guess so." said Pippi, with a smile.
Pippi suddenly didn't feel so glum.
"You know. I did have a good day." said Pippi.
