The Office
HEY THERE! First time with me?
I put this up on my Wattpad initially, but then thought of posting it here as well. My wattpad user is may_bornmia so you can check out my other works if you're into kpop!
I don't have much to say other than the fact that this might or might not be my last fanfiction on this site. I'm gonna do my best! I hope you like it, so happy reading!
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Attack On Titan or its characters!
"Listen up, losers," Levi clapped his hands loudly once to draw the attention of the employees. The workers looked up from their desks, staring at the head of department walked in.
"It's time for the monthly report submission. All of you will submit your files to Hange in the next five seconds or you're fired," Levi, the head of department, spoke.
And in a millisecond, the workers, namely Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, Sasha, Historia, Reiner, and Bertoldt launched off their seats with their files in their hands and sprinted to the door, pushing each other in the way, all trying to fit into the door frame.
"They're idiots," Annie deadpanned, and Ymir proceeded to get up lazily and collect her paperwork.
"I said five seconds," Levi repeated.
"Sorry, boss. My watch ain't working today," Ymir proudly declared.
"Mine is. You're fired."
"Ah, peace at last!"
And while the rest of the employees pushed each other away in a struggle to place their files on Hange's table (Armin got thrown to the side), the fab manager, Hange, danced her way in from the washroom and pointed at Ymir, and exclaimed, "My girl's going nowhere!"
"As long at Historia's here, it's all okay," Ymir whistled and sat back on her chair.
"What about you, Annie Leonhart?" Levi questioned.
Annie looked up from her phone and simply spoke, "I emailed it to her yesterday."
"We want a hardcopy."
"Why move when you can just email?"
"She's got a point there," Hange added.
Levi sighed in annoyance, "This is why I hate this job."
By now, the rest of the employees were done pushing each other and had submitted the files. The head of department, Levi, checked his watch and announced, "You guys took a minute. You're all fired."
As gasps arose in the workers, there came another mature voice, "Relax, Ackerman. Give them time to breathe."
It was the CEO of the Titan Buttons' company, Erwin Smith. As he walked down the office with grace in each step, Eren whispered to Mikasa and Armin, "I wanna be like him someday."
"What? You wanna be like him? So you're saying you wanna crack bad jokes?" Connie intervened. Apparently Eren wasn't quiet enough.
"He's already an undisputed champion at that," Jean smirked.
"Undisputed? Damn, Jean, that's a big word!" Sasha admiringly commented.
Mikasa wished that they somehow drown in their morning coffee.
"Morning," Levi wished Erwin without a single change of tone in his voice.
"Good morning," Erwin nodded, wishing everyone, "I came here to check up on you all and your work. How is the monthly report submission going?"
"I, uh, kinda broke my arm, I think," Armin spoke up.
"I almost got stabbed by the door lock," Bertoldt added.
"I got a little cut on my thigh," Historia said.
"It's going well," Levi summed up.
"Haha! At least it's better than mine. I got coffee spilled on my coat this morning. Good morning? More like good 'mourn'ing!" Erwin said and laughed, and Historia and Armin forced out a laugh just to be polite.
"Are you sure you wanna be like him, Eren?" Reiner lowly asked the said man, and he hesitated.
"Anyway, I should go. Please take care of yourselves," the CEO spoke, smiling and walking out of the office, taking the elevator.
"Okay, so that was that," Hange spoke, raising her eyebrows.
"Get back to work, everyone," Levi commanded, walking into his chamber. While Hange, Levi, and Erwin had separate chambers (even though Erwin worked from home) there were three tables joint for each set of trio. Only Reiner and Bertoldt had a twin table, since there were eleven employees and math didn't satisfy the division of tables.
Also, because they were best bros.
"Ah, I'm so sick of this!" Connie cried, sitting on his chair in front of his computer.
"I'm sick of a lot of things but do I complain? No. Get back to your excel sheet," Mikasa monotonously spoke, not moving her eyes from her computer's screen.
"Rude," Jean said, leaning on his side so he could get a better view at her, "But I like rude," he winked at her.
Mikasa stopped typing and looked at him, and for a second, Jean did think that he had a chance with her...
...Until she stuck up a middle finger and got back to her work.
Sasha and Connie burst out laughing, with Sasha falling off her chair. That made Connie laugh harder until he fell off his chair because of bending a little too backward.
"That was such an Annie thing to do," Armin remarked.
Mikasa and Annie looked at each other, and fist-bumped in the air.
Eren looked around at everyone: the cubicle of him, Armin, and Mikasa; of Jean, Connie, and Sasha; of Annie, Ymir, and Historia; and the twin table of Reiner and Bertoldt. He stared at the clock, and it displayed 11:53 AM.
Following his gaze, Sasha checked out the clock too, and burst out, "It's not even 12? Oh, god, I'm already hungry!"
Ymir groaned.
And Eren thought to himself: this was the lot of people he was stuck with. For the better or for the worse, that he didn't know.
