All right...so I am starting something new...again. So, bear with me. But...I had this idea for a while. I know it is not popular, but I always had a fascination with the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But I felt like there were enough kids in the first movie...but if instead of the five golden tickets like originally planned, what if Wonka doubled the number of golden tickets? Well, you are about to see what happens.
I do not own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Ronald Dahl owns that.
Ten Golden Tickets
Chapter 1: Announcement
Today was September 1st for a young girl of twelve years old, who was about to start going to school again after a long summer break. She was wearing a long purple and red scarf around her neck, and she had a red knitted hat on her head, along with purple winter clothing that included some black boots. Her blue eyes were focused on the road, looking out to see if there was any danger. When the wind picked up, she used her hand to wipe away her long black hair out of her face. After feeling the wind, she smiled to herself.
Well, this is what home feels like.
And for her, home was in Narva, Estonia. Sure, it was a small town compared to Tallinn, but this is what she was comfortable with. The snowy and cold exterior lined along with old houses and buildings that lined the streets and surrounding areas. The small shops and the townspeople all walking around the area was something she knew, something she recognized. Right now, the young girl was heading to her school, which started at 8:30. But, on the way, she stopped by her favorite shop...the candy store. Ever since she could talk, she had loved eating all sweets, and she had a high fascination with Willy Wonka's in particular. The way that the innovative ideas that he created were something that the young girl did not even think was possible. She looked in the window and got a glimpse of Wonka bars being stocked and the new scrumdiliumcious being placed in the surrounding area.
"Let me guess...you just can't help yourself can you Sofia?"
Sofia turned around and saw a middle-aged man around his forties. His hair was just beginning to turn white. But even though he had the look of a tough man, his face was kind and gentle.
"Mr. Homlin...I didn't know you would be in so early."
"I'm not. I am just exploring the town right now. Nothing too significant. Hey, aren't you supposed to be heading to school?"
"Oh, right! I was just getting a peak. Okay, on my way. Have a fun walk Mr. Homlin!"
"And enjoy your classes, Sofia."
Sofia began to jog to class, as the time was getting a bit close. When she was about halfway there, she started to notice something peculiar. She first saw a young man running past her.
Huh, that was weird. I thought people my age was supposed to be in school. Well, he is just having some fun before school.
"But then she had to stop on her tracks as more people her age ran past her as well. Now she was confused, as she had even recognized some of her classmates. Soon, she saw her friend Amelia, and she pulled her aside.
"Amelia, what the heck is going on? Why is no one in class right now."
"You mean you haven't heard? Look at your phone. It is about Wonka. He's done something that nobody thought was possible."
That got Sofia's attention. So, she pulled her phone out, and looked at what was going on. She found the first article that popped up and began reading what Wonka had sent out.
Dear People of the World
I, Willy Wonka, have decided to allow ten children to visit my factory this year...
In addition, one of these ten children shall receive a special prize, beyond anything they could imagine
Ten golden tickets have been hidden in ten ordinary Wonka bars
The candy bars may be anywhere, in any store, street, town, country or the world.
What had just been plastered on her got Sofia excited. She realized that just opening one wrapping paper of a Wonka bar could open a golden ticket, giving her the opportunity to go to the chocolate factory. Wonka had not opened his factory to anyone in years, but now that this opportunity presented itself to her, she was not going to let it go to waste. She put her phone away and began to rush back to the candy store that she was originally at, but as she looked in her pocket for money, she realized she left it at her house, so she rushed past the candy store towards her house, a smile implanted on her face.
Well, it is short, but that is the first chapter of this story. I do not know why, but I always would have found it entertaining to try and add more kids to the story. Well, guess you will just have to wait and see who the other kids are. Anyways, hope to see you next chapter.
