A/N: this is my first RWBY Story, so please go easy on me. also Jaune will become op later on but he will have some tough battles. Some things from the legend of Zelda will be added too. both teams will be secondary weapons so please leave a review or P.M me for some ideas, I already have an Idea for Jaune, Ruby, Yang, and Weiss, and both teams will have their flaws worked out, for example Yang she rushes in without thinking . This is a Lancaster story possible harem down the line. This will have spoilers from breath of the wild, Skyward Sword, and Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity fair warning.
Jaune Arc the dorky loveable Leader of JNPR yawned and had dark circles around his eyes as he was trying to keep his eyes open. He was currently having lunch with his team JNPR and its sister Team RWBY.
"Jaune, are you okay? You look like you had a rough night's sleep?" Ruby asked worried about her best friend, while Pyrrah looked at her leader with equal worry.
"Yeah, Vomit Boy, you had a bad dream?" Yang questioned, taking a sip of soda.
Jaune just smiled. "No, I'm fine, it's just I have to stop eating the cookies Ruby buys us before I go to bed." it was a lie lately he's been having nightmares about creatures nothing like the Grimm, these were different, some resembling humanoid pigs, others sea monsters, Lizards and many others. But sometimes rock creatures, fish people, human women with dark skin and red hair. As well as humanoid birds, and Elves, specifically two in particular one was a blond-haired young man who wore a blue shirt with white trousers. He also seemed to have a scabbard on his back that held an impressive sword which made him look like a simple stick. The other was a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair slightly darker than Yang's. She wore an outfit similar to the boy's, it wasn't just them he saw countless versions of these two, some kids, others young adults. Jaune's train of thought was interrupted by painful pointing; he looked to see Ruby pointing at his chest while trying to pull off an angry face, but it was more cute than threatening.
"Don't blame the chocolate chip cookies! Or blame any cookies for that matter. They are a gift of the gods." Ruby scolded as she continued to poke him.
"Ow, I'm sorry." Jaune apologized rubbing his chest.
"Ruby I think you are being a little overdramatic about it," Blake said as she continued to read her book.
"I agree, you can't eat those all the time, you need to balance out your food groups," Weiss added before turning to Jaune.
"Plus too much sugar will give anyone nightmares, so you should cut down on the sweets before going to bed Jaune."
"Thanks, snow angel." Jaune smirk, which Weiss just glared at him for calling her that ridiculous nickname he gave her.
"If you are having trouble sleeping Jaune, I can give you some sleeping remedies?" Ren offered.
"Nah, I'm fine,"
"Maybe some pancakes will help you? they always work for me," Nora smiled, as she wolfed down her pancakes.
"Um, Nora, I don't think that will help Jaune." Pyrrha stated before turning to her leader.
"If something is bothering you, we'll be there to help you."
"I know thanks." Jaune smiled at his partner, he appreciated his friends' concerns. He was sure it was just him eating too many sweets before going to bed, and decided to skip eating anything before it.
"So you guys heard about this temple that was just discovered?" Pyrrha asked.
"Why yes, Vale archeologists had discovered it deep in the emerald forest, they determined the age, they are startled that the computers dated it back to before remnant was ever created by the gods?" Weiss said, shocking the others.
"Before the gods? You mean this temple has existed before Remnant was even created by the gods?" Blake asked in a rare shock, the Faunus in disguise had read the history of Remnant and from human to Faunus to how it was created, but this was completely different.
Weiss nodded before continuing. "They don't have all the details yet, but some of them say the structure and materials of the temple are made of unknown elements that can't be found in any of the kingdoms. They are shocked that the thing is still standing after so many years."
"Sounds boring." Yang dismissed the information.
Before anyone could comment, the intercom was turned on which everyone could hear the voice of the headmaster of beacon Ozpin.
"Good day students, I have an important announcement today, due to the discovery of the ancient temple 2 months ago, Beacon has been giving the honor of entering the site, so students tomorrow you and some teachers including miss Goodwitch will travel to the temple, so I advise you all to get a good nights sleep, that will be all."
"Cool, we get to go to the temple." Ruby said excitedly.
"This will be very educational. I've been wondering about the origin of the site." Weiss said.
"Only you two would be excited about visiting an old building, I would rather go out on the town," Yang said in a boring tone.
"Come on Yang, my mom told me a little culture is good for the person." Jaune smiled.
"No for this person, vomit boy," Yang remarked.
Later that night Jaune was tossing and turning in bed as he was having yet another nightmare, he saw this blonde elf's training he was now wearing and how he bravely fought against monsters before the image changed to an old building that had a giant hole in the courtyard that seemed to spiral down until ending in a standing circle that as weird pillar thing in it, what shocked him was that the young man who was now wearing green was standing in the pit with an old lady and a heavily build guy who was cowering on the top the to as shadows poured out of the pillar before it manifested into a giant monster, looking at it, this creature made the Grimm look like cuddly stuffed animals.
'The hell is that?!' Jaune said in fear he had never seen a monster so terrifying.
The young man charged at the beast, which was either the bravest or the stupidest thing anyone would do. Suddenly Jaune found himself in a black void in which the young man and other versions of him were staring at him.
"Who are you all?"Jaune asked.
None of them answered, but the one he had seen in his last nightmare spoke. "It is time."
Jaune arched an eyebrow. "Time for what? Who are you?"
"We are you, and you are us." all of them answered, catching Jaune off guard hearing what these individuals said.
"W-what?!" Jaune stuttered.
"Jaune Link Arc, you will soon learn of your destiny. As well as your friend Ruby Rose." the man in blue said.
Before Jaune could question what he meant, also how he knew his name or how Ruby was involved. Suddenly flames engulfed the area, he looked around and saw that everyone had vanished into thin air. Jaune then heard footsteps coming from the flames, he saw what looked like a woman with white hair her skin white as bone, she had black cracks down her face and her eyes were blood red, and she wore an elegant black dress, Jaune was terrified by her sudden appearance, and the fact that she looked like a humanoid Grimm he looked around and saw all of his friends, and family were laying dead on the ground. The woman smirked as she walked towards him, although scared somehow Jaune was able to gatherer the courage to draw his family's heirloom, however, she just walked through him as if she was a ghost, this stunned Jaune.
"Jaune/Link!" a familiar voice called out, Jaune turned to see Ruby who was looking worse for wear, she was covered in bruises, her hood looked both burn and torn, her outfit had several cuts in it, and her baby as she called it, Crescent Rose in pieces. Ruby looked to be on the verge of collapse. What surprised him, was that in a second Ruby's appearance changed in a flicker the blonde female elf he as also been seeing in his dreams was in her place, before flicking back to Ruby. Unknown to Jaune, his appearance changed for a second to the young man who he talked to earlier.
The woman closed the gap. "It's time to rid this world of your kind." she said with a sinister smirk, as she pulled a blade out nowhere. "With your death, I will rule this world and take your half of the Tri-Force."
Jaune without warning rushed as fast as he could, he had to save his best friend. Ruby looked his way and reached out as her image changed back to the female elf. "Link!"
"Zelda!" Jaune yelled back reaching out as his image changed to the male elf.
"Zelda!" Jaune called out, as he shot up out of bed, the blond was breathing heavily covered in sweat, he looked around and saw he still in his dorm room. He looked at his clock and saw it was 5:00 AM.
The knight sighed. 'That was vivid, why do I keep having these nightmares? And who are Link and Zelda? And who was that woman, who tried to kill Ruby?'
Jaune had no idea, who are these people were. Link? That was his middle name. Jaune just sighed thinking he might need to see a therapist soon if this keeps up, he decided to get dress and do some training since he was already up. Jaune quietly got dressed, hoping not to wake his team up, as he quietly snuck out of the room, as he walked by Team RWBY's Room, unknown to him Ruby who was also awake at this time opened the door and saw him walking down the hall. She just had a nightmare and she couldn't go back to bed. She surprised to see Jaune was awakened as well, since she didn't have anything else to do, she quickly and quietly got dressed and sped after her friend. Unknown to the two of them, a dark shadow watched them from afar, before it vanished in a burst of white, red, and black diamonds.
Elsewhere Ozpin had woken up in a cold sweat, he felt sinister magic for a moment, but then it was gone. 'What was that? Was it Salem? No, I know her magic and that wasn't hers's. But this evil magic, it felt like it was on par or even more powerful than hers except it feels more ancient.' Ozpin knew all about the magic of the world thanks to the gods, but this particular dark magic felt like it came before the gods, he wondered if it could be related to before Remnant's creation, he decided to shook it off since it was 5:15 he decided to get up make his favorite cup of coffee for another day of school.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed the chapter, very short chapter I know. But next will definitely belong. I wanted this chapter to set the feel for what's to come, in this story Jaune is the reincarnation of Link and Ruby is Zelda so once they learn more about their past lives they will change, but not to much and they will learn skills that only Link and Zelda knew.
