I got reincarnated and my quirk is Watergun

Blub: After saving a kid from a massive eel while relaxing in the ocean he sadly drowned and was unexpectedly reborn into the world of My (boku no) Hero Academia. Born to loving parents, but still got the short end of the power stick with a shit quirk even though his mother's a hero working alongside All Might... Wait what's All for One doing in my house? Dark OC. Proto-nomu. Probably Mina x OC. Maybe Tsu, haven't decided yet. Put it in this chapter your preferred pairing.

Part 1: Eels, drowning, and shit quirks

Have any of you reading this ever drowned, or rather I should say come close to it, as you wouldn't be reading this if you'd finished drowning. Well its sucks doesn't it? It's cold, panicky, and so much more painful than they make it look in the movies. If you last long enough, you get to feel crushed by the weight of the water above. Yep that's right, I died in the sea. I lived in the beachside city of Brighton and while floating on an inflatable, something attacked a kid within a few meters of me. I'd like to say I rushed to his aid, but in truth I was so startled I fell into the water and in doing so accidentally kicked the massive fucking eel trying to take a bite out of the kid.

It then gave up its hunt for something much larger, meatier, and whom had dared to attack it, guess I pissed it off. You ever try fighting an eel as large as you? That shit is hard, I used to fight a lot in high school but that was an unpleasant experience, ended up with a broken arm from the eel constricting it, along with more large bites on my legs, neck, and torso than I'd ever want, and the other arm I shredded when I shoved my arm down its throat and ripped out something vital, the eel finally released me and I swam for the surface as it died. Or rather I tried to. Turns out eels that size have really big teeth, and a lot of them. Because of the life and death struggle I didn't realise just how much blood I lost.

As I drifted deeper, the current took me, and I was dragged down like I had cement shoes on. I desperately tried to hold my breath, tried to kick for the surface but the pressure crushed at me, I lost my sense of up and down as I was tossed about. Then in spite of my best efforts, my body took a deep breath and sea water flooded down my throat, filling my lungs and stomach to bursting, eyes bulging, limbs flailing, etc... Not gonna lie, I still have nightmares about that part, even if it would ultimately provide some amazing inspiration. In any case, a minute after being internally flooded (the term drowned just didn't do it justice) everything went dark.

...And I died.

Unfortunately for me however that shit didn't stick.

(Two years, nine months later, location: ?)

I'm not sure exactly when my brain was developed enough to handle even some of my previous life's memories, but I think I was about 2 years old given my size. It was a shocking experience, I went from a borderline retarded toddler with weird blue fingers to a partial adult, at least memory wise. It wouldn't be until I was 8 years old that I would get back everything, and I truly understood how messed up my new world was. If any of you haven't guessed already, I've reincarnated, and not just any world, I somehow reincarnated into a world identical to My Hero Academia. I realised pretty quick when I saw my father had a mutant quirk and my mother an elemental quirk, and most humans I saw outside in my stroller looked different from the norm.

You reading this are probably thinking did you get an OP quirk? The answer is no... No I did not, I was simply unlucky, even more unlucky, then smart enough to make it useful, not sure what I mean, well spoilers we'll get to it. Any who, my quirk is called water gun and this is my story of how I bumbled through the story, messing up cannon here and there, and gave myself a very Goth sounding hero name that sounded weird, morbid, and cool, and it totally suited how I came to be in this world and my quirk, I even got a girlfriend in high school, still kind of surprised about that.

For those of you who've already read ahead and know the name, and are now rereading this, all I can say is fuck you, Tokoyami liked my hero name... Shut up! Be thankful I didn't end the second part of my hero name with pool, Marvel doesn't exist here, believe me I checked, unless it vanished from records in the few centuries since Quirks began, so I could totally have gotten away with it. Also the name totally would still work just as in pool for swimming pool and not gambling pool... Fuck I wonder if there's still time to change it, reckon I could rock red and black, and I can certainly break, or at least crack the fourth wall.

OC: Ahem, the guy writing this recently had his computer break, and now his other stories are on hiatus until he can retrieve the data and the four, or maybe five half finished chapters from different stories. What a loser! What? Go ahead delete this, I fucking dare you scarred up fat-ass who'd make Eri and Deku feel better about their scars. But then you'll have to delete most of the previous paragraph.

Author: ...I'm making you and your family's names have either a water or gun pun in it. Maybe both.

OC: Shit! ...so that's why am I called OC in this fourth wall break, I haven't had the anime's announcer scream my name and quirk yet.

Right then, let's explain my family situation, though it wasn't until I was four until I had enough memories to start recognising faces to the show. Didn't read the manga, only watched the show, but thanks to YouTube I got spoiled on what would be season 5 and 6 material. Cunts!

First my dad looks like that villain from UA, the brown haired one with the gun fingers that Eraser Head bodies who also appears a lot as an example villain in the new season episodes where post series Deku monologues. Yeah, couldn't find his name anywhere on Google, so until otherwise that villain is named Finger-bang. Ba-ba-ang! Anyway given how young All Might still looks on TV he can't be the same guy as dad, a younger relative maybe? I know Finger Bang is not me because I look very different.

ANNOUNCER

Father: Yubio Utsu

Quirk: Bullet Fingers, can shoot bullets out of the holes of his fingertips, can recreate any bullet rounds by touching it as long as it can fit and be fired from his fingers.

Info: Average looking guy with brown hair and sapakku eyes in his late twenties. Works part time at a gun range as it lets him play with his quirk, also tests new bullet designs via police contract a few times a year, as thanks to his quirk they only need to make one to test whether it would work or not, saving them a lot of money. Most bullets are suppression rounds or special pierce or sedation rounds for use against dangerous quirk users that couldn't be shot the normal way.

My mother also looked familiar, black haired and black eyed, pretty in a plain sort of way, she could create water and move it like a water bender from Avatar, the cartoon, not the live action movie – Eww, they should take lessons from UA: LA, but to be fair the youtube fan episode had Marvel stunt doubles, Zero from Hole, and DC's wonder woman director making it, so of course it was great! Ahem! Anyway, I didn't realise why I recognised her until I met mother's younger sister and her new husband. It was the duo from the hero team, Water Hose, you know the ones that get slaughtered by Muscular three years before the series starts. Huh, guess that means I'm cousins with Kota whenever he'll be born, and cousins with whichever member of the pussy cats he's also related to, the red one I think. Though I think she'd still be in middle school or hero high school at this point. Regardless I've yet to meet her so we're probably not close to that branch of the family.

ANNOUNCER

Mother: Yubio Umi (Maiden name: Kota)

Quirk: Water Manipulation, can create and manipulate water, can also control water from local sources, such as rivers, seas, and even water bottles.

Info: A black haired and black eyed woman in her early thirties, and apparently the founder of Water-hose, but basically retired to raise her son, leaving the name to her two sidekicks one of whom was her little sister, who later married each other.

So I'm kinda the child of a hero. A retired one at least, she'll probably go back to it once I'm a bit older.

I also have a young uncle on dad's side, and when I say young, I mean he's still a teenager, nineteen, only met him a few times because he's a sidekick and works insane hours. But its fucking the man who will become Gun-head. Not nearly so buff as in the show, but still talks kinda cutesy though.

Anyway I've got heroes on both sides of the family. You figured my quirk would be pretty decent since my quirk was an accidental quirk marriage. I could shoot water from my fingertips and toes like a gun but I don't have any holes like dad, I'm more like mum but following dad's quirk rules. The water comes through my pores at high speeds. But its only as dangerous as an actual water gun that kids play with, it's not a heroes quirk, at least as it is. Hopefully it'll get stronger as I get older.

Now then to describe me, I'm black haired and black eyed like mum, but I've got most of dad's looks except I'm a bit 'prettier' I guess - thanks mum, though I've got dad's tiny pupils and iris, the so called Sapakku eyes. So I'll probably look like a thug if I'm not careful. My quirk didn't affect my appearance much, except my fingers and toes are a bright, almost neon blue with little blue lines almost like circuitry that go up my hands and ankles a few inches. Those blue digits have special pores and are much more durable than the rest of my body.

I can also safely store way more liquid than the average person. My bladder and kidneys are apparently much larger than normal and connected to my quirk through an extra tube system, meaning if I wanted I could piss out my fingers and toes. Gross right. Wrong, I tried and normal water came out, apparently if I move it passed a certain part of my body, the bacteria and waste is left behind to be peed out normally. Now I get how Momo felt when the tape guy said her creations are technically poop.

ANNOUNCER

Name: Yubio Mizuki

Quirk: Watergun

Description: Can shoot water out of any digits on his body (finger tips and toes) water is stronger if concentrated through a single finger. Five fingered water stream currently at level of child's toy water gun.

Anyways I was born with my quirk, and I apparently tended to leak a lot, but not in the way you'd think with a baby. I had that sorted by the time I was six, though the power of my water was never enough to use in a fight, unless as a distraction to a takedown, oh god I was basically Bubble Girl!

My quirk was practically prank level, though like Deku I hoped to improve, but unlike Deku I trained as much as my little body allowed. I dare not use weights or I'd stunt my growth so I ran and climbed, exercising as much as possible, at seven I got mum to make a pool of water hovering in mid air, quirk practice for her, swim practice for me – no public pools since we both absorbed water for our quirks we could sense the gross contents of them as a side effect.

Dad helped me practice my aim with my quirk, using the practical methods of real gun-fighting, down side mum wouldn't let me try a real gun, or even a BB gun, but I get the feeling Dad will let me when I'm older. That said my aim has gotten really good.

By seven, I never missed unless it was a fast moving target, usually dad with an actual water gun or mum fighting back very gently with her quirk. My own water was still pretty weak, but at least I wasn't wasting time during my second childhood. While my mind was still capable of learning super fast as all babies and children could, I therefore took advantage of that fast learning ability to get ahead of my future peers. I already spoke English, and as an anime/manga fan (weeb) I was half-literate in Japanese to begin with, so I quickly became fluent and learned several more languages before my learning speed slowed to more normal levels so I could hero more internationally after the series ends.

Thanks to the internet it was easy, I near fluently learned French and Spanish, along with conversational level Hindi, as for why those three, it was because the first two were spoken in multiple countries just like my mother tongue was, meaning I could use them in more places, as for Hindi, it was due to the sheer number of their people on the planet who spoke it even if much less spread out. However it was so different from my western root languages of my old life that I failed to truly learn the language, but I could at least hold a basic conversation without making an ass of myself. I still use all five languages, mostly in online chess or Go against foreign players so I don't lose the skill. My parents didn't know everything I got up to as a little kid, but they probably still thought they were raising a little genius. I had an IQ of 186 in my old life, but my memory was kinda crap after my skull got crushed as a kid. Not even from a fight, but a mishap with a doctor. Wait a fucking minute...

OC/Mizuki: Wait... isn't that also true of the guy writing this? The lazy prick is recycling his own past, and he lived in Brighton at one point, and he fought an eel before. Let me guess you're going to make me fight a bull or someone with a bull mutation because you beat one at 15.

Author: I wasn't going to, but you will fight one now, and besides it was charging my sister, course I was gonna either chase it off or kill it. Also you're not Deadpool, so knock off breaking the fourth wall and quit talking to me.

OC/Mizuki: I notice you didn't mention the pack of wild dogs... and I could totally rock that hero name!

Author: They had it coming, also stop making me seem more pretentious than I actually am. Now get back to your shit monolog Deadwave before I write you into a yaoi scene with dog head detective from the Stain arc. You can call him dog daddy.

OC/Mizuki: Better that than your lookalike Obsidian nailing Shalltear in your Overlord story. Hoping for some fanart with you in it, huh?

Author: Urgh! Just go back to the story.

Anyway, being a kid again was a strange experience, though my parents were very kind to me and had that cutesy picturesque romance going between them that seemed both odd to me and made me happy as my original parents had broken up when I was a teenager. Luckily I was living alone and working in a shitty chain store so I got to miss most of the drama. It didn't seem like I needed to worry about that here. Kind of surprised I don't have more siblings with how affectionate they are with each other. But I later overheard how I was basically a broken condom baby, I was also a difficult birth so mother was in no hurry to go through that pain again or delay returning to work.

A few months after my seventh birthday, my mum - hero name Waterwave returned to active duty, though she typically worked a 9 to 5 shift so she could spend more time with me and her husband. I saw her on TV occasionally and I was very proud of her. Dad would often cheer her on with me like any other fanboy even though he was very skilled with his quirk, and while this world is much more than heroes, villains, and quirks, I couldn't help but ask one day.

"Dad, how come you aren't a hero too?" I asked in my annoyingly cutesy kid voice. I saw several complicated emotions in his eyes, so I quickly added. "Because you're super strong and awesome, just like mum!"

Dad's eye's softened, and the bitter look mostly faded. "My quirk is very good at killing ordinary people, but not so good against villains' quirks; my quirk isn't really one that can save." He said softly, regarding his metal tipped fingers that looked like the ends of a pistol. "I've learned to make special bullets thanks to my side job and your mother's advice, but when I was a teen, when I could have trained to be a hero properly I couldn't do anything special. I was just a kid with ten pistols in his hands."

I hugged my dad; I didn't like seeing him sad. "It's okay dad, I love you." I made sure to hold his hands, a visual reminder that my father and I both didn't have ordinary fingers.

Primary (grade) school in the world of My Hero Academia was weird. Obviously it was easy for me given I died as an adult, plus the years here since being reborn increasing my knowledge base. But ignoring that I was shocked by how bad bullying was towards those who were quirkless, had crap quirks, or looked weird due to mutation type quirks. When I, the top student who got to read the teen and adult level material teacher brought in especially for me as Japan didn't allow for grade skipping, the other kids were ecstatic to learn I had a weak quirk. Their words were meaningless to me, but when they tried to get physical at break I made sure to demonstrate how dangerous I was, for humanity had largely forgotten the heroes and warriors of the quirkless age that could kill most niche pussy-ass heroes who relied on their one special power.

In my previous life I had learned many forms of martial arts, not the fancy crap, the brutal, cruel, effective kinds that allowed me to carve out a local legend as a high school tough guy by crushing gangs by myself and making bitches out of SO many bullies. Now I might not have my fully grown body builder-like frame from before, but I was very fit for my young age and I had the methods of how-to still lodged into my brain. Without using my quirk I broke an arm or a leg of everyone of those wannabe punks. A few lost teeth, many had black eyes. They largely left me alone after that.

My parents got called into a meeting, my dad had his glare on and mum came from hero-ing and was still in costume, it knocked the cockiness out of the bullies' parents. I explained what happened, countered everything they said like a lawyer, shutting down their toxic bullshit. But what really settled the matter was that I was known to have a weak quirk, and that even the bullies had confirmed I used my fists, elbows, and knees to brutal effect while their kids gained up on me using their quirks and still lost. Effectively ten quirk users lost to a quirkless opponent. Mum threatened legal action and the meeting ended with the school and bullies parents looking pathetic.

While I might have ended up getting expelled at a later date, mum used her position to have the school investigated for ignoring abuse of quirkless and marginalised, several teachers ultimately got fired, and a lot of kids got in serious trouble. My parents checked all the circumstances with me and while they thought I was a little heavy handed, they understood and were on my side. It was fun kicking ass again with my bare hands. Even if my quirk had stayed weak I could still brawl well.

Anyways my new school still had bullies but it was much more reasonable, a few fights on the sly handled that, and I soon found myself banchou (thug boss) of a primary school of all things, silly but it kept the other kids in line. Without petty distractions I continued to push my mind, body, and quirk. My life continued in a rather bland but lovable cycle until shortly after my tenth birthday when I met All for One.

To be continued in part 2

A/N: Thanks for reading part 1, part 2 will be up shortly. At the moment this story is more the concept or prequel of the main (cannon) story, as I've still got lots of stories to finish and prioritize time to, some stories in limbo after my laptop died with a bunch of half-finished chapters. Until next time.
