Chapter 1
"Uhh.." I moan out as I start to wake up. Cursing whatever the hell it was that hit me as I squinted my eyes in the dim lighting. Slowly I sit up, a gross slurping gurgling noise coming from my right. And manic high pitched laughter coming from in front of me. A strange dusty, mold smell assaults my nose as I take in a shuddering breath. My vision is hazy when I first open my bright emerald green eyes. And for a moment I think I'm still dreaming at the scene before me. Next to me is the gross fish guy from RE8, and Angie the doll is pushing him away from me. The creepy doll laughs louder as it turns around.
"He's~ Awake!~" At her exclamation all eyes turn towards me. My body tensing up involuntarily at the cold looks on all of their faces. I stare back at them just as coldly before shifting my focus to checking myself over. 'Thankfully nothing seems broken.' Shifting into a more comfortable position causes me to wince slightly. 'Bruising might be a whole nother story though. But that is minor compared to what is happening in front of me.' Closing my eyes for a moment I try to recall what happened before this.
I furrow my brow in confusion, ignoring what they are talking about for now. Already knowing the jist of what is being spoken about. I have played that game so many times already. 'I was heading towards the dance hall for the party. It was raining though making it hard to see where I was going…..Then a bright light…..sirens….' A stabbing pain starts to spread out across my skull. My hands grab tightly onto my floor length coat in an attempt to block the pain. 'Did I die?' Strange images of me having been here before flash past my eyes. "What?" I mumble to myself as what I can only assume are memories begin to fill my head. It feels like multiple people are yelling inside my head at me with memories. Each voice trying to gain my attention by yelling over the others. 'SHUT UP!' I yell in my head at the voices as a burning sensation flashes over my eyes. Surprisingly the voices all stop and I am left in blissful silence once more.
'I'll worry about that later. Most important is that I don't end up with that Nicholas Cage wannabe! Every time I am given to him I die almost as soon as he gets me.' How I knew that is beyond me at the moment.
"Shut your damn hole and don't be a sore loser! Go find your food somewhere else." Heisenberg yells up at Alcina. Both of them were too busy arguing to notice me picking the lock on my cuffs. I say lock but the cuffs are just heavy bracelets connected to a bar. And small hands make it easy to slip out of them. 'Did Heisenberg not think people might need different sized cuffs? '
"Quiet now, child!. Adults are talking."
"I'm the child your th-" He cuts off mid sentence when I stand up after slipping the cuffs of my wrists. All eyes on me as I drop the useless metal bands at Heisenberg's feet. "How the hell did he open my cuffs?"
"Just more proof that he should be given to me. This fool cannot even keep the man-thing tied up!"
"Sorry to interrupt, but I am a female." I say while holding my hand up in a 'stop' motion. A cold shiver went down my spine at their cold stares. "Why would you all think….Oh...Is it the clothes?" I ask as I look my outfit over. My expression becomes irked when I see the fresh mud stains on my once white coat. Reaching up to lightly pat my head I let out a sigh when I feel my now messy hair. "Was it really necessary to drag me through the mud? Hopefully you didn't ruin my dress as you did my coat." My gaze is cold as I look at Heisenberg while unbuttoning my floor length coat. Could have been my imagination but I swear I heard Alcina let out a faint chuckle.
"Metal head didn't even bother to check!" The doll laughs while pointing at Heisenberg. The only man, I don't count fish guy, in the room slams his hammer down in anger.
"Why the hell would I check!"
While those two are arguing I finish taking off the trench coat, tossing it on the floor. I can't help but notice Alcina's eyes light up as she sees what I'm wearing. My costume of choice having been a blood red victorian style dress with matching accessories. I made this costume to be as close to Madam Red's from Kuroshitsuji as possible. But I added a long red cape with black lacework patterns to the look. I'm not cosplaying as her like most would guess. Just have a love for victorian fashion and her dress was one I always wanted. I give Alcina a small curtsy and smile ,before reaching up to unpin my long silver hair from the bun it was in. The long curly tresses falling over my shoulders framing my well endowed chest. My bangs falling into place across my forehead.
"Now where did that fool put my purse I wonder?" I muse to myself with my arms crossed over my chest. " I must look ghastly after being dragged through that damn tunnel." More importantly is the fact my purse has important things in it. My gaze passes over Alcina again as I turn to look over the others in the room. A flash of red catches my eye when Heisenberg rests his hammer on his shoulder.
"Ah. So that is where it was. " Everyone but Heisenberg seems to notice me walking up behind him. The metal worker is too busy yelling at the fish guy now. "I'll take that, thank you." I say grabbing the hammer off his shoulder. Surprising even myself, but I don't show it, at how easy it is for me to hold the giant metal hammer.
"Bwahahaha!" The doll falls to the floor laughing. " I like this girl!"
"Hey- Wha-!" Heisenberg sputters out as he swirls around to face me. His surprise is quickly replaced by anger as he tries to grab his hammer back. Random pieces of metal begining to float in the air behind him. "How the hell is a human holding my hammer!?"
"Oh hush. I just want my property back." I reply with a dismissive wave of my hand. Stepping to the left when he lunges at me. A smile threatening to form on my lips when he crashes into a stone pillar. Some lycans that were resting on the decaying beams above us let out growls of annoyance. The creatures had remained mostly silent up until this point, but Karl's little spill seems to have woken them all up. "I do detest men like you. Always whining about something trivial. " My words make the doll laugh even more, the fish guy joining in with her. 'Why can't I remember his name?'
"Mother please reconsider letting me have this one." I hear from directly behind me. A large hand now pressing on my lower back. 'More than likely to keep me from trying to run.' I think as I finally manage to get my purse unhooked from the blasted hammer.
"Finally. " Without a care I toss the hammer back to Heisenberg. "Here is your patchwork weapon." The hand on my back tightens its grip. "Madam, please be careful where you touch." Looking up at Alcina as I say this, having to lean forward a bit so I can look at her face. "That area is a bit…sensitive for lack of a better word."
"I will touch you wherever I like, pet." Her words make me laugh a little, which causes her to glare at me. Her ruby red lips just barely showing the signs of a snarl. "Obedience shall be your first lesson."
"Only if your mother allows it. " I sigh, looking away from Alcina to instead look at Miranda. "She looks as if she is about to snap." And I was right on all accounts. No sooner had I said that did Mother Miranda explode.
"SILENCE!" Her once calm voice bellows out with a wave of power hitting all present. I stumble backward a bit, Alcina's hand on my back moving to rest on my waist. Her quick reaction kept me from falling down. I place one of my much smaller hands on top of hers.
"Thank you, Madam...Dimitrescu?" I say her name as a question, they don't know I already know who all of them are. So I must act stupid about them all for now. After a bit ,if I am still alive, I can claim I see things in my dreams or something. I already seem to have abnormal strength. So why can I not have psychic visions as well? "I apologize if I pronounced it incorrectly. Romanian is not my best language…." I give her a small apologetic smile, getting a smirk from her in return."
"You pronounced it perfectly, pet." I was about to ask about the 'pet' nickname but was silenced by Mother Miranda.
"I have changed my mind, my children. The...woman...will be given to Alcina." Miranda stares coldly at me as she speaks. Her eyes seem to glow as her cold gaze moves to Heisenberg.
"But mother!" Heisenberg exclaims, moving to stand in front of Mother Miranda. "Why are you changing your mind now!? "
"Do not question me Heisenberg!" Mother Miranda snaps at him harshly. " This one is clearly different then other mortals. Alcina do not kill this one I wish to keep her for now.. Perhaps even make another sibling for you all." Heisenberg flinches at his mother's harsh tone. Finally backing down and simply leaving the meeting. He sends a glare at me as he passes by me and Alcina.
"I will see you all at the next full moon, my children." Mother Miranda's voice is calm once again. Her gaze turns back towards me, an evil smile on her pale lips. " I can't wait to see how you grow, child.~" With that Mother Miranda vanishes in a swarm of crows.
Alcina's hand tightens its grip on me at Mother Miranda's last words. I rub small circles on the back of her hand. Trying my best not to wince at the pressure she is putting on me. 'That might bruise if she keeps grabbing me like this.'
"Seems I am in your care after all, Madam Dimitrescu." My words snap Alcina out of her thoughts. Her gaze had still been on the spot Mother Miranda had been. When she looks down at me her eyes have a red tint to them. "Are you alright?"
"I am fine." She snaps taking a drag of her smoking stick. Finishing off the cigarette before placing the stick in a pocket of her dress. " Donna darling, still up for tea next week?"
"Absolutely! Can little sis join too?" The doll responds instead of the woman holding it. I know why that is but it is still a little creepy.
"Perhaps…"
"Yay!~" Donna stands up and walks away, the doll popping up over her shoulder to wave bye to us.
"I am unsure how to react to that one…" I mumbled to myself but Alcina heard me more than likely. She finally lets go of my waist as she turns to leave as well.
"Come along now, pet. I have work to tend to before the sun rises." The nickname irks me but I say nothing. Deciding to simply enjoy the view I have at the moment. She has one hand resting on the doorframe of the tunnel as she ducks throught the narrow doorway. Her large frame just barely had enough room to squeeze through. 'The game didn't do her justice….She is even more beautiful than I could have imagined.'
"Hurry up!" Her voice makes me jump a little. 'How does she move that fast in that dress?' I wonder as I rush to catch up to her. Holding my dress skirts up so I don't trip over them. The sound of our heels being the only thing filling the silence. Which I didn't mind all too much since it gave me time to think.
'Okay. So I am now in the world of Resident Evil 8. Meaning timeline wise I have to be here before the game happens. If not, that means I possibly replaced Ethan Winters. If that is the case I must find a way to stop what I consider the bad ending of the game. No way am I going to let Alcina, the triplets or Donna be killed. I will consider it a success as long as I can at least keep the four of them alive. That aside, I seem to have gained some form of powers. Increased strength being one, and by the twitching on my back I can guess flying. ' A slight pain in the middle of my forehead causes me to stumble a bit. One of my hands reached out to rest on the tunnel wall for balance. A scene flashing in my head too quick for me to really see. But I did manage to see someone getting wings ripped off their back. 'Was that me?' More images flash in front of my eyes answering my question. My head suddenly filled with knowledge about what seemed like random things to me. ' It was me...But not the me from the -real- world. Have I been brought here before?'
"Are you alright?" Alcina's voice snaps me out of whatever trance I was in. Thinking quickly I hide the pain on my face as best I can. But I can already tell she doesn't truly buy it. My heartrate is probably going crazy right now.
"Just a small headache, love. Happens all the time I'm afraid…." No point in lying to her at this point. But I can slip in a little hint about my 'visions'. " At least this one was just a short film. Which I probably really shouldn't be. " I am fine Madam Dimitrescu, no need to stop on my account."
"Very well…." She turns back around and keeps walking. Her tone makes it clear she will bring this up later. I try to focus on anything but the pain in my head. "When we arrive at my castle you will meet my daughters. Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela."
"Beautiful names for what I am sure are three very wonderful daughters." I reply, deciding to stroke her ego a bit. "Sadly I have never been blessed with children. A few times I came close but the little ones just….left..." I stop getting lost in memories of what I can only assume are my past lives. Nearly every life I had tried to have children. But never could last a full term for some reason. Some I even had to give birth to even though they were already dead. These memories make me tear up a little but I force back the emotions. "No point dwelling on my past. Future? Hmm….Hard to tell sometimes." I sigh, ignoring the sympathetic look Alcina sends me.
"We are almost there."
"Splendid. This tunnel is a bit too confined for me. " I frown at her hunched over posture. The tunnel is at least five feet taller than me. But for her it is still too short of a headspace. " But I am more concerned for you, love. " I gently grab her hand in mine, giving a concerned smile up at her. " You don't need to worry about out-pacing me. And do not try to deny it. I know these short legs of mine could never dream of keeping up with you at normal speed. " I laugh at my own joke which also gains me a smile from her.
"If you insist, draga mea.~" She replies in an almost purr-like tone. "It is a straight path down this tunnel. If you do not appear behind me within five minutes, I will have to assume you ran away."
"I promise not to run. Flying on the other hand…." I look up in thought as a memory of flying hits me, giggling behind my hand. " Oh that would be fun.~ Sadly this tunnel doesn't have the wing room. But I can hum or sing a bit if you like. " I stare down at our joined hands. Entertaining myself by comparing the sizes. 'Her palms are bigger than both of mine combined!'
"You say strange things, pet. " She pulls her hand away causing me to pout. "Humming will suffice."
"Alright then. " I watch as she walks away, moving at least twice the speed she was before. But it is clear she is still holding back some. Thinking for a moment about what song I should hum. 'I think I will actually sing it though' I smirk as I start walking again having picked what I feel is the perfect song . Humming softly at first then I start singing it softly. But I change the lyrics slightly, only changing the 'little boy' parts to 'little girl'. ( D. Gray Man 'The Musician' AmaLee YouTube cover)
On the instrumental breaks of the song I start to hum again. The sound of my footsteps adding a soft echo as background noise. By the time I finish the song the light of the exit is in sight. But I keep humming the chorus of the song to myself softly. Strangely enough singing that song seems to have helped my headache. The closer I get to the exit the more visible Alcina becomes. She is smoking another cigarette in her stick pipe. Her gaze aimed towards the imposing form of her castle in the distance. The moonlight bathes her in its gentle glow. As I approach she lets out a breath of smoke. And I can't help the blush that dusts my cheeks. 'How can someone be so beautiful…'
"Sorry to keep you waiting, love." She glances down at me briefly before turning her back to me. Tossing her cigarette into the snow before speaking.
"You will sing for me again in the future. I would enjoy hearing it with music." Her hips sway almost teasingly as she walks away, me following after her. Doing my best to keep from showing how cold I am. My heeled boots sinking into the snow as we make our way through the vineyards. Unlike the game that only had a small field, the fields here are at least ten times as big. From what I can tell it looks like the fields extend into the woods.
"I will sing when you ask, but I cannot promise songs you will like…." I reply, moving to stand beside her. A cold breeze causing my hair to float about me. The light of the moon makes my silver hair shine like clear ice. " The night is cold….but still…." I turn my face up towards the sky to gaze at the stars. Memories of a past life where I had wings still bring a longing look to my eyes. "I long to fly again. " My words catch Alcina's attention. She grabs my upper arm roughly making me gasp in pain.
"Stop speaking in senseless riddles and tell me what you mean!" She demands, her grip tightening on my arm with each word. I slowly reach up to place my hand over hers on my arm. Giving her a smile as best I can. But I'm sure my pain is still clearly visible to her.
"I am not doing it on purpose, love. Could you please let go..."
"Not until you tell me what you meant earlier."
"Not in the cold please…" I stop trying to hide my cold shivers from her. My words cause her to tense up, likely she is thinking of how her daughters react to the cold. A worried look flashes in her pale-blue eyes but it vanishes just as fast as it appeared.
"Very well. " Her grip on my arm lessens but she doesn't remove her hand. Instead she leans down so she can hook her arm under my legs.
"What are you do-inngg!?" I can't help the startled scream my question turned into. Blushing in embarrassment as she smirks at me.
"This is much faster than having to wait for you to stumble up the path." Nodding my head in understanding she starts to carry me towards the castle. Another cold breeze causes me to shiver violently. "Nearly there, draga mea." Alcina's breath warms my face when she speaks.
"S-Sorry about this. " I frown when I stutter out my words. " Well that's n-not good." My hands move to cover my mouth, my warm breath thawing my hands a bit. I close my eyes so I don't have to see Alcina's reaction to my stuttering. She says nothing but it feels like her pace got quicker. I can't help but feel rather content being carried by her like this. She is surprisingly warm for someone that is technically dead. Just as I feel my consciousness slipping, the soft glow of the castle lights hits my face.
'Well this night will be interesting to say the least.'
