George knew. He knew he screwed thing up when he slept with Izzie. He knew when he saw how hurt Callie was when he confessed that night.

At some point he thought it was going to be okay. He saw his ex-wife talking to doctor Hahn in a more-than-friends way and that made him believe she was finally going to be okay.

But… Hahn left and George once again saw that hurt in Callie's eyes. The same hurt he once caused her to feel. He wanted to help her. He wanted to do something good for the woman he had hurt soo much.

A few weeks later George and the rest of the residents went for a drink. They were having a great time. Drinks and talking about successfully surgeries. That's when he noticed. The blonde woman staring at his ex-wife a little too much. She seemed beautiful. Had a friendly face. Finally she decided to talk to Callie. They seemed to get along just fine.

And in that moment George knew. He just knew. Callie was going to be fine. She was going to have someone who would never harm her. Someone who would treat her better than he did. Someone who would treat her how she deserves to be treated.
