Erin and her team retuned from yet another successful drug bust down in Queens. She stopped outside her locker to put away her Kevlar and guns. Closing up her locker, she feels the very same abdominal pain that been keeping her up most of the nights the last week. Thinking it was just pre period aches, she shrugged it off and had kept it at bay with heat and ibuprofen.

Today it seemed to be at peak pain on the scale. She being who she was, shoved that pain down and got through yet another day at work. A little pain was nothing she couldn't handle.

Yet, as she took a seat on the bench to zip up her boots, she made the call to her physician to come in that afternoon. Being in change of her own unit had its perks, like being able to sneak out for things like this. So she did up her boots, grabbed her keys and bag and let her unit know she was heading out.

As she sat in the Johnny shirt, waiting for her doctor to return, she found particular interest in a painting of the Navy Pier back home. 'Former home.' She corrected her self mentally. A pang of homesickness hit her in a wave bigger than she anticipated. Luckily enough, the doctor retuned with some paper work. She had been there over an hour waiting on her bloodwork, advised to stick around when she described her symptoms. She really didn't like the look she watched cross the physicians face as she left the room with the vials.

She took her seat again across from Erin. "I have to say Doc, you're starting to worry me a little. And I don't worry easily." She let out a light laugh, which quickly stopped at the doctors expression. "Erin. There were some abnormalities that came back through the bloodwork. I'd like to do some further testing just to rule out a few things. Are you comfortable with that?" She nodded slightly. "Alright. With your consent, I'd like to do both a pelvic exam, and an ultrasound." "Sure, sure." She mumbled, not quite understanding what all of this meant. "Alright, I'm going to get you to lie back, and we'll do this now." She pushed herself back on the table and adjusted for the exam, finding more interest in the office ceiling tiles as the exam took place.

"I'm going to take you down to imaging now." She said, leading Erin down to the ultrasound room, it didn't take long, and she was back in the comfort of the office in no time. "We should have more answers in a few days time. Are you okay to drive wherever you're heading to?" "Should I be worried? I've never had so much done in one appointment with you, I'm just wondering if I should be worried that's all." Her doctor looked over to her. "Truthfully, I'm not really sure what we're looking at. It could be Endometriosis, pre period cramping, ovarian cysts. The possibilities are pretty endless when it comes to abdominal pains, or it could be nothing. The good news is we'll know within a day or two. So, to answer your question, I wouldn't spend the next 24-48 hours panicking. Any other questions for me?" "No. No that's it. Thank you for seeing me on such short notice." She said pulling her coat back on. "Of course. I'm glad you did. We'll chat soon. Take care, Erin." She thanked her once more before heading back to her apartment. She had a dinner scheduled with Olivia for the evening and she figured after that rollercoaster appointment, she'd take the rest of the day to herself.
