The wait is over, the time is now to see how much of a creative piece this really is. Oh, boy. I feel the adrenaline kicking in already, but I've got a story to tell.

Well, this is it. Welcome, ladies and Gentlemen; boys and gi... actually just ladies and gentlemen because this story isn't very 'child friendly', to my chronologically first ever PAW Patrol story. Now, I first wrote this up back in either April or October and my writing was 'bad' back then. But I've tweaked it to make it more my modern style of writing. I mean, I've got a lot to go through but should be to standard before the main release.

So anyways, like with any other story that I've made, I do hope you enjoy this story that I've made my own twist with.

Just for heads up for future readers, the following does contain strong language, disturbing scenes (if I wrote those too good) and graphic imagery.

And with that enjoy my latest story: Pups At Chernobyl

Chapter 1 – Daily Lives

Life in Adventure Bay was completely normal. Mr Porter brought in more fruit for his shop; Farmer Al kept on farming; Mayor Goodway and Chickaletta having walks out in the beautiful town that they govern. The Paw Patrol, on the other hand, kept saving the day as they're always known for doing. Those were the good old days, but all of this was in the eye of one pup. The pup was a bigger adult, roughly twenty years. Its breed was a German Shepherd but some of its fur was lost, leaving the Shepherd around a quarter naked.

He drove along a long single stretch of road that seemed to go nowhere. The weather was damp and wet. The day was blackish grey and nothing changed it. The dog was accompanying a small but young German Shepherd girl. Her fur was bright and grey hair covering her face, back and ears. The older Shepherd drove along the road up to a checkpoint, to which a man walked out from a metal tollbooth. The dog stopped and rolled down the window. Walking up to the dog's vehicle, a soldier in an American uniform standard leaned down to level his eyes with the German Shepherd's.

"Let's see some identification." The soldier ordered. The Shepherd didn't speak but showed an I.D. badge. "Okay. Raise the barrier." The soldier called out.

As the barrier was raised, the German Shepherd drove on, with the headlights lighting the way through the thickened fog. He completely acknowledged a yellow triangle that stood on a post. The sign had a black border with a black propeller. But a warning like that didn't bother the older German Shepherd, whereas the younger German Shepherd saw it as a fan. The soldier saw the brake lights at the back of the range rover fade away into the darkness. He returned to the tollbooth, believing the dog could handle himself.

The vehicle continued to roll through the dark. Streetlamps hung high above the street, but no power came to the bulbs. The young German Shepherd looked around and noticed that the grass had lost its green trademark look, and her eyes were caught by a tall chimney that was erecting itself in the distance. She could only make out the chimney and nothing else. The older German Shepherd kept his eyes forward on the road ahead and immediately saw a small town coming to his view. There were no lights, no smoke rising from the rooftops, no lights moving around, nothing.

The Shepherd drove past a sign that had a message saying: 'Welcome to Adventure Bay'. The German Shepherd kept his eyes on the sign until he couldn't see it anymore, then returned them back out onto the road. Occasionally he would look into his rear-view mirror to see his daughter staring out in the fields. She soon saw the run-down-town that had no life to it whatsoever. The Range Rover had entered the roads of Adventure Bay. The streets were completely littered with debris from the interiors of buildings and shop windows smashed. The Shepherd pulled up in front of the town hall of the area and got out. He looked around the town and only saw what had become of this once beautiful town that was once filled with colours, turned into a grey town that was now a nightmare. The Shepherd went around the vehicle and opened the door to let his daughter out. She looked around and was shocked and appalled by the scenery.

"This is where you used to live? But it's all gloomy." The daughter said.

"I did. It used to be so bright here, until that fateful night." The older Shepherd stated. The Shepherd closed his eyes. Screams and vehicles braking harshly whirled like a cyclone in his ears. Then he heard a huge explosion in his mind. Louder than he could possibly hear. He looked around and didn't see any explosion whatsoever. The dog shook off the trick and focused his attention on his surroundings.

"What happened here?" The daughter asked.

"Well, Lulu. Adventure Bay was a fantastic place to live in. And close by is the lookout. I was always there, in my police uniform, ready to be on the case. 'Chase is on the Case', that's what I always said." Chase explained.

"That sounded like a good catchphrase. How many adventures did you go on?" Lulu asked, bouncing up and down with joy.

"So many times. I even lost track." Chase pointed out. Lulu looked around and could imagine what it must have looked like before it turned into what it is now. Some of the buildings have been overrun by plants, paving the way for mother nature to reclaim the land. Chase saw her looking around. He then saw the Lookout. He briefly remembers him and his other friends, who were a part of a team known as the 'PAW Patrol'.

"Those were the great times. I really miss you, guys." Chase muttered under his breath. He then turned around and got Lulu.

"Come on. I'll show you the Lookout." Chase said as he carried his daughter on his back.

"What happened here all those years ago, dad?" Lulu asked.

"Well, some stories are from my point of view, the rest is in your head to think off." Chase said. Lulu looked around as her father slowly took her to the Paw Patrol Lookout.

The team was led by a 10-year-old boy named Ryder. There were seven other pups, apart from Chase. A Dalmatian named Marshall. An English bulldog named Rubble. A Chocolate Labrador collier named Zuma. A Cockapoo named Skye. A mix-breed Terrier named Rocky. A Husky named Everest. And finally a Chihuahua named Tracker. These were the eight members of the Paw Patrol. Everest and Tracker don't live in Adventure Bay but are called when the Paw Patrol either needs them when they are heading to their location or they're needed in other missions that are not in their area. The Paw Patrol is always called for a mission when someone is in danger or something has gone wrong. As their motto goes,: 'No job is too big, no pup is too small'. A young Chase was by the beach, staring out on the waters. Nearby were Marshall, Rocky and Rubble. They didn't talk much as they only mentioned their daily lives. While Marshall and Rubble chatted to each other, Rocky noticed Chase sat by the shoreline.

"What's up with Chase?" Rocky asked.

"Not sure. He looks alone." Marshall noted. "He's been acting like this for the past few weeks." Rubble pointed out.

Though the pups couldn't see Chase's face, his eyes were wide open. A worried look upon his face. Marshall decided to catch up with Chase, who kept staring out to sea.

"Are you okay, Chase?" Marshall asked. "Yeah." Chase answered in an unbothered tone. "What's wrong?" Marshall asked. Chase let out a massive sigh.

"I've been thinking about Skye. I've been bottling it up now for so many times that I haven't got the urge to say." Chase admitted. Marshall saw the terrified look on Chase's face. "Bottled up what?" The Dalmatian asked.

"Well, I've got feelings towards Skye, but she don't know it yet." Marshall looked in the direction that Chase was looking at.

"Do you think I'll ever have the urge, Marshall? To confess my love to her, that is?" Chase asked as he turned around to his Dalmatian friend. Marshall spun his head around and looked into his German Shepherd friend's eyes.

"Well, I know so. I think you've just got to give it some time." Marshall said.

"I guess you're right." Chase said. Then Ryder came to the two pups.

"Marshall. There's a job for you at the power plant that the director thinks you'd be of use for." Ryder stated. Marshall got up and left Chase. Chase saw his friend leave him, but he was thankful for what Marshall said to him. Chase turned around and saw the sun setting in the far distance.

Outside townhall, Skye, Everest, Tracker, and Zuma were helping to decorate the court outside the building in the wake of the next general election in Adventure Bay. The election was between Mayor Goodway and Mayor Humdinger. Zuma blew up the balloons, Tracker and Everest helped with the bunting and Skye hung the balloons on posts or other nearby lamp posts. The pups were chatting about Mayor Humdinger's interview that they saw on Hailey Daily's news channel the previous night.

"Mayor Humdinger just went yapping on and on that night. Even that British journalist or whatever he is, Piers Morgan I think he's called, just kept asking him questions and rudely interrupted him." Zuma explained as they helped to set up the stage for the debate being held tonight. Skye and Tracker didn't argue against the Labrador's point.

"I just hope Mayor Goodway wins the election again." Everest stated. "Ci, I hate to think what power Mayor Humdinger would place on the table if he came to power here in Adventure Bay. What a horror! Oy-Oy-Oy." Tracker exclaimed.

"Oh, don't go there, dude. I, too, would hate to see what his plans would be if he became Mayor." Zuma shivered in agreement. Everest saw that Skye had frozen in place. The Huskey dropped what she was doing and slowly approached the still Cockapoo.

"Is something on your mind, Skye?" Everest asked. The Cockapoo shook her head and saw a worried Huskey at her side. "I've been thinking about Chase. It seems like he's got feelings for me. And he's not the only one. I've got a bit of a crush on him as well." Skye admitted quietly to her best friend. "Have you not told him?" Everest asked curiously.

"No. I'm afraid to admit it. And I think he's also unable to say it to me. I think both of us are afraid to admit it, as we might lose each other." Skye explained. "Well, you just need the confidence. You've got to say something about it to him before either another female pup steals him, or another male pup steals you. 'Get to them first before they get you' is what my grandmother used to say to me when I was a small pup." Everest advised.

Skye smiled a little.

"You're right, Everest. But I just need to find the right time." Skye said as she looked around. "You go find him and I'll do your jobs while you're away." Everest backed. "Really? I don't want you working twice as hard." Skye said, feeling concerned. "I've been through worse. Ice or snow, I'm always ready to go." Everest said. The girls giggled.

"Thanks, Everest. I'll make it up to you. I promise." Skye said as she ran off. Everest saw Skye run off towards the Lookout and then went back to work. She just only noticed that Tracker and Zuma were still chatting and slowly doing the work.

Chernobyl Power Plant. 10 miles from Adventure Bay. Ryder and Marshall had arrived, along with the night shift crew who took over from the day shift crew. The sun was completely hidden from view and the moon was rising to claim the sky. Marshall and Ryder got out of their vehicles and they both took in the size of the massive block.

"Ready to go, Marshall?" Ryder asked. "I'm fired up." Marshall said with confidence. They went inside the plant and they were met with a slight uneasiness. Then a man wearing a full-on white uniform.

"You must be Ryder and Marshall from the Paw Patrol, correct?" He asked.

"Indeed." Ryder answered.

"Good. This way, we need Marshall to change into gear because levels of radiation are somewhat high but not too high." He warned. The Dalmatian followed him to a changing room and he got into a white suit. He then was provided a dosimeter that measured the amount of radiation that he took in. The worker then took them to a sitting lounge area that had a window view of the fourth block on the left and the third to the right.

"We're going to be running a test tonight on the fourth reactor. We'll need you on standby, Marshall. Just in case the cooling pools start to lead way to a meltdown. Plus, one of the generators is offline for maintenance." The worker explained. "I'll be ready." Marshall said.

The worker nodded and walked off. Ryder then knelt down to his best fire pup.

"I'll be back when they give me the call to say they've completed the test. Will you be okay?" Ryder asked, scratching the back of Marshall's ear. "I'll be fine. See you soon, Ryder." Marshall said, after enjoying the feeling. Ryder gave him one last stroke and then headed off. Marshall walked up to the window and saw the view of the whole area.

Nobody was walking around. The place seemed like a maze to sole pup.

"This place looks scary from the outside, but inside nothing can harm me. Except for the radiation if I stay too long." Marshall said to himself. He looked around to see nobody else in the lounge. Just the humming of the machinery nearby of what Marshall believed was either the turbines or the reactor itself. He then noticed a clock on a wall nearby.

1:22:36.

Marshall was informed by the worker that the experiment would begin in a few seconds. He sat by the window, observing the silent outside covered in darkness. He kept looking out until he saw someone or something. Nothing. Minutes passed and Marshall was starting to wonder if they had started the test yet. He kept his eyes on the sky, twinkling with joy. The atmosphere was becoming more menacing for Marshall as the seconds went by. He was about to raise a single on Ryder, then suddenly, Marshall felt vibrations on the ground. He looked down at his paws.

The tips slid slowly without his bones moving. "I think that could've been an earthquake. Nothing serious." Marshall reassured himself. But then the windows blasted into shards towards Marshall. Marshall covered himself against the glass until all of it had landed on the floor. He could hear loud objects smacking the earth. He slowly lifted his head and not only saw glass but debris on the outside landing. He looked to his left and saw the block letting out huge black smoke, almost blending in with the night sky.

"Oh no." Marshall exhaled in terror. He could only tell it wasn't good news; disaster had struck.

Yeah, with the mention of "Piers Morgan", just a little thing I came up with. Who knows, I could make that interview with Mayor Humdinger and Piers Morgan ranting on.

But anyways, hope you enjoyed. Next chapter, the pups gear up for their biggest challenge yet, which will be next week on Saturday.

But from me, I'll see you next time, "Mr. Speaker, I would like to address the fact that the Right Honourable Gentleman hasn't provided a great deal of FanFiction stories on his side of the bargain!"
