Thalia at Goode
This takes place after The last olympian and The Lost Hero doesn't happen
Percy Pov
For Percy, nothing was more precious than the simplicity of life at Goode high school.
There would be no more crazy quests for petulant gods and no more scary monsters at least until next year.
Percy could finally return to his (regular-ish) teenage life.
At least that was what he was thinking before he entered the atrium that marked the entrance to Goode, and he spotted someone who should NOT have been there. A girl with messy jet-black hair and a green day American Idiot shirt was snapping her fingers in front of the receptionist while opening and closing a stiletto knife at her waist. Percy immediately shunned his thoughts. There was no way she could be here; she pledged herself to the hunters over a year ago.
A voice to his right shook him out of his thoughts, "What's up Perce, I haven't seen you in like 4 months."
"I know, I'm sorry I was just a little busy, again." Percy responded to his friend Aidan.
Aidan was about 6 feet tall and that made him only a little shorter than Percy. He had dark brown hair and almost always had a lopsided grin plastered to his face. His mischievous light brown eyes complimented his olive skin.
"C'mon man you can't disappear like that every summer, what am I supposed to do?" Aidan whined, but Percy knew that Aidan wasn't really mad at him.
Percy didn't have a chance to respond before he heard a familiar voice say, "Percy?" in a surprised tone.
Percy whipped around to find two electric blue eyes staring daggers directly at him. "Uhh Thalia?" Percy found himself staring at the dusting of freckles on her nose.
Aidan butted in to say, "she your girlfriend or something"; I thought she was a blonde." Percy winced and his expression turned dark as he was thrown back in his memories to the fight with Luke in the throne room.
The torches on the walls of the massive throne room of Olympus bleakly cast light onto a desperate scene. Percy was fighting for his life with every sword stroke, and everything Percy tried seemed to be anticipated by the Lord of Time. Whenever Percy could gain the advantage over Kronos the time around Percy would be slowed down until it felt like he was running in Honey. It was so brutally unfair, but the Lord of time could care less about fairness. Annabeth charged at Kronos from his flank and yelled, "I trusted you, how could you do this to us!" She stabbed her Celestial Bronze dagger at a chink in his armor, but it just shattered harmlessly against Luke's iron skin. Annabeth had pulled his concentration away from Percy for just enough time to allow him to return to the regular speed of time, but it was too late. In one fell swoop of Backbiter sliced at Annabeth's throat and ended her life. Percy's vision turned red with rage as the blood of Annabeth spilled onto the floor.
While Percy was charging, Kronos slowly stood up and shakily said in Luke's voice, "What have I done?"
Percy hesitated for a moment. Pain danced in Luke's eyes as he took his own blade and drove into his armpit, his Achilles spot.
Percy was brought back to the present when Aidan pushed him and said, "you deaf or something?"
Percy replied, "uhh no, I'm fine, and Thalia's definitely not my girlfriend." Thalia's expression softened a little bit when she saw the pain in Percy's expression.
Thalia said, "I'm one of Percy's friends from camp."
Exasperated, Aidan turned to Percy, "How come you have more friends from summer camp than you do here?"
Percy replied, "I dunno."
In truth Percy did know, and It was because he wasn't like everybody at school he was just a little different. Percy then suggested that they walk to their locked while they talked, so they wouldn't be late for their first classes of the year.
While they walked up the stairs to the second floor Thalia moodily introduced herself to Aidan, and then Percy asked how she had ended up at Goode. Much to Percy's surprise Thalia answered honestly in front of Aidan. She admitted that she had left the hunters after she had gotten into a disagreement with Artemis over where they should camp for the night. It turned out that Thalia being a daughter of Zeus did not make her deal with authority very well. Since Thalia didn't want to stay at Camp Half-Blood all year, she decided to manipulate the mist to make it seem like she had always gone to Goode. After she was finished Aidan had a look of pure confusion on his face as he opened his mouth to ask what the hell she was talking about. Before he could utter a word Thalia snapped her fingers and his eyes glazed over. Expressionless, Aidan turned and walked towards his locker at the end of the hall.
Percy turned to Thalia indignantly, "you can't do that to everyone."
Thalia smiled at Percy and said, "Oh yes I can, in fact, he should have already thought I went here last year. She frowned and thought out loud, "I guess he can see through light mist," before turning to walk away. Percy yelled, "wait!" but Thalia ignored him. Percy was about to run to catch up with her to ask her one of the millions of questions that were bouncing around in his head, but he glanced up at the crappy analog clock barely hanging to the side of the wall and saw he was about to be late for his first class, Biology 1. He groaned as he opened his locker and mentally prepared himself for another ADHD torture session.
