The One Were Joey Becomes A Father
How are our six friends doing?
We all know that Monica and Chandler moved to Westchester County, New York with their sweet twins.
Rachel and Ross were always meant for each other and eventually got married, they still live in the apartment with their daughter Emma.
Phoebe and Mike have their own business in New York and have 2 children.
It seems that everyone is doing well, but we can't forget Joey. Joey is doing well, but is not as settled as the rest of the group, he still lives in the flat where he lived with Chandler, but with a new roommate, he is still an actor. We all know him as the hunky Italian who loves women, but he still has none. He is also without a doubt a great uncle to his best friends' children.
An ordinary Sunday or not?
Every Sunday we find the group of friends in their familiar coffee shop, Central Perk. It is a random Sunday in November, it is raining outside. They are having a nice time together but suddenly Gunther (waiter) says that a woman on the phone asks for Joey, without much explanation Gunther makes it clear that it is urgent. As we all know Joey, he doesn't take it seriously.
"Hi Joey Tribbiani here, how you doin'?" says Joey in a sarcastic way.
"Joey I need to talk to you, it's serious," says the woman who seems to be panicking.
Joey recognises the voice immediately: "Felicity is that you? What's going on why are you panicking?" (Felicity is an ex-girlfriend of Joey's and one of the bridesmaids at Emily and Ross' wedding).
"Yes it's me Joey, we need to talk, can I see you tomorrow, I'm in New York. " says Felicity.
"Uhm yes sure you can come to Central Perk?" says Joey.
"Okay, I'll explain everything tomorrow." says Felicity hurriedly and hangs up the phone.
Totally confused, Joey rejoins the group. He explains what happened and goes home.
Confused
It's the next day and as agreed Joey goes to Central Perk to see his ex-girlfriend. When he arrives, he sees Felicity already sitting at a table. Joey greets her and he immediately sees that she is pregnant. He wants to congratulate her but suddenly Felicity says that it is a child of the two of them. Joey doesn't know how to react, he's in shock on the one hand he's very happy but on the other hand he's panicking. Felicity asks him to come with her to London to take care of the baby. Of course Joey doesn't want this, he can't leave his friends behind.
It all gets too much for a moment and he doesn't know what to do. He tells Felicity that he has to go to an audition and that they will continue talking tomorrow. The first thing that pops into Joey's head is to is to go see Chandler, they are like brothers to each other. He knew Chandler could help him in this situation.
After a long conversation, Chandler came up with the plan of having dinner with the whole group and Felicity tomorrow at Monica's and his house to convince her that they are a warm group and that the baby will be well welcomed.
Joey thought this was a great idea and immediately called Felicity to invite her to Monica and Chandler's house, Felicity agreed.
The preparations
As we know Monica, she immediately started cooking and cleaning up the house. Rachel went shopping with Joey since she knows everything about clothes. Together with Joey, she went into hundreds of stores to find a nice suit for Joey to impress Felicity. Chandler and Ross cleaned Joey's flat so that Felicity thinks that Joey is a responsible man. Phoebe babysat all the kids the whole afternoon, explained the situation to them and asked if they could tell Felicity what a great uncle Joey they have.
The day of the dinner
Rachel helps Joey get dressed and makes sure he looks neat, and Phoebe goes over what the kids are going to say one last time. Monica puts the finishing touches on her dinner. And the boys stay with Joey the whole time to support him. They've never seen him so stressed.
Felicity arrives, she seems very impressed by Joey. Of course Chandler makes a few awkward jokes and Phoebe acts weird a couple times, but overall everything is going well and Felicity looks very happy. After a long evening, Joey and Felicity decide to go home. Felicity stays the night at Joey's place. When they arrive at the apartment Felicity goes to the bathroom, she wanted to tell Joey after this that she had decided to stay in New York with the baby, but Joey was already asleep.
The next morning Joey gets up early and makes breakfast for her, Felicity tells the good news.
Two months later she gives birth to a healthy half Italian baby. So even Joey is finally settled.
