Chapter 1.
"Yaku nii-sama!" a toddler voice was heard. Byakuya looked behind him and saw a toddler, he couldn't make out the toddler's appearance. He knew that the toddler had spiky untamed hair and a teal kimono but he couldn't make out the eye colour or hair colour.
"Byakuya, why don't you take */ ; [&%£! To the koi pond?" suggested a woman. Byakuya looked back in front of him. He saw a woman who had white spiky untamed hair but unrecognisable eyes, he couldn't see them. She was wearing a Shinigami uniform with a Lieutenant badge with the Kanji '10' on it.
"Hai Oka-sama." Byakuya heard himself say. He grabbed the toddler's hand and walked to the koi-pond. The two sat down in front of the koi pond.
"Hey Onii-sama?" said the toddler.
"Yes *& $%££^?" Byakuya said. No matter how many times he tried, he couldn't hear his Ototo's name.
"I want to be like Oto-sama and Oka-sama when I grow up but I want to be a taicho just like Oji-sama!" the toddler smiled. Byakuya could see that much but not his actual face. Byakuya smiled and ruffled the spiky untamed hair.
"I bet you'll become a great taicho, ototo." said Byakuya. The toddler's face brightens up.
"Maybe we can be taichos together, Yaku nii-sama!" the toddler giggled. Byakuya smiled and hugged his Ototo.
"I love you, Ototo" Byakuya said.
"I love you, Nii-sama!" smiled the toddler, hugging Byakuya back.
Byakuya was sitting on his porch in the Kuchiki Manor. He was staring at the koi pond, thinking.
'Me and Ototo used to come here all the time to play, when I didn't have to go to the Shin'o Academy or training with Oji-sama but after a while, he just disappeared to a point I can barely remember him. He's my brother, yet I know nothing about him anymore. What kind of brother forgets his own brother?' Byakuya thought with a sigh. He just couldn't believe himself; he forgot his own brother's name and appearance. Did his brother have the usual black hair or did he have their mother's white? He couldn't remember, he couldn't even remember what eye colour did his mother have.
"Hey Byakuya." said a voice. Byakuya sighed.
'That's right, Shiba-Taicho planned to come 'round today.' Byakuya thought. The Sixth Taicho looked up to see the Tenth Taicho with a child. Byakuya had a weird sense of Deja Vu.
The child has snowy white spiky untamed hair and an amazing shade of teal emerald eyes. He was wearing a Shihakusho. A katana was strapped on his back with a green cloth.
'This must be Hitsugaya Toshiro, the new prodigy in the Seireitei.' Byakuya thought.
Isshin and Toshiro walked up to Byakuya.
"Hey Byakuya, how have you been?" asked Isshin, taking a seat on the grass.
"I've been alright," said Byakuya.
"Still trying to get used to being a Taicho?" grinned Isshin. Byakuya just stared coldly at Isshin. Isshin faked cried.
"Little Byakuya has all grown up! I dreaded this day! Now all I'm dreading is when my little Shiro-Chan gro-ugh!" Isshin cried but Toshiro kicked Isshin unconscious.
"He never stops." sighed Toshiro.
"I know." said Byakuya. Toshiro bit his lip and sat down on the porch. The two sat there in silence while looking at the garden.
"The gardens are beautiful, especially in spring." said Toshiro. Byakuya nodded.
"It must be a paradise to wake up and see these in the mornings." Toshiro said. Byakuya closed his eyes. The two sat there for a few minutes before talking to each other and getting to know each other. Byakuya felt like he's known Toshiro for a very long time, the two share some of the same interests. The two felt like family.
A few hours later, when Isshin finally woke up. The first thing he saw after sitting up with his 3rd seat, also youngest member, was asleep. Asleep on the 6th Division's Taicho's lap. Isshin smiled.
"I see that you've finally woken up, Shiba-Taicho." said Byakuya. Isshin grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that." Isshin said. He looked at the sleeping child.
"Well, I better get going, I've got work to do." Isshin said walking up to the two. Byakuya frowned when Isshin picked up Toshiro.
"See you later, Kuchiki-Taicho." smiled Isshin.
"Goodbye Shiba-Taicho." said Byakuya. The older Taicho flash stepped back to the 10th division.
Byakuya looked at his lap, already missing the child prodigy's head on it.
'I haven't felt this loss when Hisana died. I know that 3rd seat Hitsugaya isn't dead but it feels like a part of my soul was ripped a part.' Byakuya thought.
"Yaku nii-sama!" Byakuya heard a toddler's voice. He looked up and saw nothing.
'What was that?' Byakuya thought. His heart clinched in pain.
"Let's play!" giggled the same toddler voice. Byakuya got up and walked in the middle of the garden. He looked around, still couldn't find the person who the voice belonged to.
"Come on!" Byakuya was starting to get a bit angry.
'What joke is this? Who is even playing this joke? And why use my Ototo's voice?!' Byakuya growled in his head. He hated the fact that someone is using his Ototo's voice.
"Where's mama and papa?" asked the voice. Byakuya began to feel a bit dizzy as pictures of his parents popped into his head.
"Nii-sama, why are you standing there? Let's play!" giggled the voice. Byakuya began to lose focus and began breathing heavily.
"Nii-sama! Come on! Hehe!" Byakuya then felt hands on his shoulders. He looked behind him and saw his personal attendant, Kuchiki Kosuke. Kosuke has black spikyish hair and ocean blue eyes. He was wearing the standard black Shihakusho.
"Byakuya-sama, are you okay? You seem to be having a panic attack." said Kosuke. There was worry in his blue eyes.
"Hehe, Kosuke-san looks funny!" Byakuya's eyes widened and held his head. Kosuke's eyes widened.
"Oi Kenji, get Tetsuko-san!" shouted Kosuke. A young man with black short wavy hair and grey eyes, who was named Kenji, nodded and ran off. He was wearing the standard black Shihakusho as well.
"Where are they going? Don't they want to play with us, Nii-sama?" Kosuke got Byakuya to sit on the grass.
"Byakuya-sama, can you hear me?" asked Kosuke but he was ignored.
"Yaku nii-sama, let's play Shinigami with Kosuke-san!" giggled the "toddler". Byakuya looked around, trying to find the owner of the voice.
"Hehe, come and find me!" Byakuya clinched his eyes shut, having no clue that Kosuke was trying to get his attention.
"Count to 10 and then come find me!"
'What is happening?' Byakuya demanded in his head.
"Come on nii-sama, count to 10!"
'Stop it!'
"You're so boring, Nii-sama." whined the "toddler".
'I don't care!'
"You don't care about you're Ototo, how sad."
'Shut up!'
"What happened to my loving Nii-sama? Did he change because of Hisana One-chan?" Byakuya growled.
"Poor Onii-sama. Poor. Poor Onii-sama. Getting married changed you." the voice said uncaringly.
'Shut up!' Byakuya shouted in his head. Then everything disappeared, the anger and the voice. He felt a hand on his forehead and saw an aura of green.
"Welcome back, Byakuya-sama." said a gentle voice. Byakuya looked at the owner of the voice.
"Tetsuko?" Byakuya said. The owner was a feminine male. He had black silky hair that went down to his lower back, greyish green warm eyes stared at him worryingly. He was wearing a blue Kimono. This was Tetsuko.
"It's me. How are you feeling?" asked Tetsuko, removing his hand from Byakuya's forehead.
"Confused. What happened?" asked Byakuya. Tetsuko's gentle smile turn into a worrying frown.
"I believe you were having an episode of sorts." said Tetsuko.
"An episode?" Byakuya raised a brow. Tetsuko nodded.
"Yes, and it was triggered by something. What were you doing before you had the episode?" asked Tetsuko. Byakuya closed his eyes.
"Shiba-Taicho visited because he wanted me to meet his new member, the new child Prodigy, Hitsugaya Toshiro." said Byakuya. Tetsuko's eyes widened.
'Hitsugaya Toshiro? Wasn't Hitsugaya Koyuki-sama's maiden name?' thought Tetsuko as he narrowed his eyes.
"I see." said Tetsuko.
"Me and Hitsugaya-san were talking for a bit before Shiba-Taicho left with him." said Byakuya.
"What happened before and after Shiba-Taicho and Hitsugaya-san visit?" asked Tetsuko. Byakuya opened his eyes and looked at the head healer.
"Before they visit, I was remembering Ototo but I couldn't remember much about him." said Byakuya. Kenji raised a brow.
"You have an Ototo, Byakuya-sama?" asked Kenji. Byakuya and Tetsuko nodded,
"Yes, but I have no idea what happened to him." said Byakuya.
"Continue Byakuya-sama." said Tetsuko.
"That when Shiba-Taicho came. After they left, I heard my Ototo's voice. I tried to find where it was coming from but I couldn't find it." said Byakuya.
"What was the voice saying?" asked Tetsuko.
"The voice wanted me to play. He then commented on Kosuke." Byakuya said, looking at said man before looking back at Tetsuko.
"He then wanted to play a game with Kosuke before he asked me to play hide and seek." said Byakuya.
"Hide and seek?" Tetsuko asked with an amused smile. Byakuya lightly glared at the healer.
"He also wanted to know where Oka-sama and Oto-sama was before commenting about Kosuke." sighed Byakuya.
"Did you try to reply to the voice?" asked Tetsuko.
"I told the voice to 'shut up', 'stop it' and when he wanted me to count, I said that 'I didn't care.' but then the voice went on about how I don't care about him. He then commented about how getting married to Hisana changed me and that I became boring." Byakuya said, clinching his fists when he remembered what the voice said about his dead wife.
"I didn't get why you married her? Isn't marrying someone from the Rukon bad?" Giggled the voice. Byakuya's eyes widened when he heard the voice again.
"Byakuya-sama, pay no attention to the voice. Focus on us." said Tetsuko, putting his hand back on Byakuya's forehead.
"Tsk, why marry someone who was almost dead? Then adopt her little sister after her death without telling her the truth. It sounds like you're replacing me, Nii-sama." Byakuya's eyes narrowed.
"Tetsuko-san, do you know why this is happening?" asked Kosuke. Byakuya couldn't hear them. The voice just carried on insulting both Hisana and Rukia, also making sure that Byakuya couldn't communicate to the outside world.
"I have a feeling on who Hitsugaya Toshiro is. However, I need to see what his appearance looks like before making assumptions." said Tetsuko, trying to break Byakuya out of his episode of sorts.
"I can ask Shiba-Taicho for his file," said Kosuke. Tetsuko looks at Kosuke and nods.
"Please do." said Tetsuko. Kosuke nodded and flash stepped to the 10th Division.
"Tetsuko-san, do you believe you know who Hitsugaya Toshiro-san is?" asked Kenji. Tetsuko nodded.
"And if my feeling is right, I believe that Hitsugaya-san will be in danger." said Tetsuko.
He knocked on the door of the 10th Division's office.
"Enter," said a cheerful voice. Kosuke opened the door. The only person in the office was Isshin. Rangiku was out drinking, most likely, and Toshiro was practising with his Zanpakuto.
"Ah Kosuke-san, welcome!" smiled Isshin.
"Hello Shiba-Taicho." said Kosuke.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" asked Isshin.
"Tetsuko-san would like to see Hitsugaya Toshiro-san's file." said Kosuke. Isshin raised a brow.
"Any reasons why?" asked Isshin.
"Byakuya-sama is having an episode of sorts of his Ototo and Tetsuko has a feeling but he doesn't want to make assumptions without evidence." explained Kosuke. Isshin's eyes widened.
"An episode of sorts of his Ototo? I didn't even know Byakuya had a brother." said Isshin.
"Not many people do. I didn't until he mentioned it a while ago." said Kosuke. Isshin nodded and went over to the filing cabinet. He opened the draws that was labelled 'E-H' and looked through it until he pulled out a file. He walked over to Kosuke and handed it to him.
"Here's Toshiro's. Just bring it back when you're finished." said Isshin. Kosuke nodded and took it.
"Thank you, Shiba-Taicho." said Kosuke. Isshin nodded.
"Tell Byakuya that I hope he's alright." said Isshin. Kosuke nodded and left.
Kosuke arrived back at the Kuchiki Manor and saw the adopted sister of his master.
"Hello Rukia-sama." smiled Kosuke. Rukia turned around and smiled at Kosuke.
"Hey Kosuke-san. Are you okay?" asked Rukia. Kosuke nodded.
"I'm fine." said Kosuke.
"Anyway Kosuke, do you know where Byakuya Nii-sama is?" asked Rukia. Kosuke gulped.
"N-No I don't, sorry." Kosuke lied. Rukia didn't see his lie and smiled.
"Alright, thank you anyway." said Rukia before leaving the Kuchiki Manor to the 13th Division. Kosuke shakily sighed.
'That was a close one.' thought Kosuke walking to the gardens. He saw Kenji, pinning Byakuya down to the ground with his shoulders. Tetsuko had his hands on Byakuya's chest with a green aura around his hands. Kosuke rushed over to the three.
"What happened?" asked Kosuke.
"Kosuke, can you get Kamina, her Zanpakuto can easily see what's going on with a person's head and help find what the problem is?" asked Tetsuko. Kosuke nodded and putted Toshiro file down next to Tetsuko and ran to find Kamina. Tetsuko sighed.
"I don't know why or how this happened but I've only seen this happen a few times with Koyuki-sama." said Tetsuko.
"Koyuki-sama?" asked Kenji. Tetsuko looked at Kenji, confused but then remembered that Kenji arrived at the Kuchiki Manor after being locked up in one of the former Kuchiki clan's council member's house, being abused, after Koyuki's disappearance.
"Koyuki-sama is... was Sojun-sama's wife and Byakuya-sama's mother. She was the former lieutenant of the 10th Division. When she went out on a mission with a team, she never came back. "So Koyuki-sama had the same problem as Byakuya-sama is having now?" asked Kenji. Tetsuko nodded.
"Yes. Koyuki-sama's father hated Koyuki-sama and made her life a living hell before she met Sojun-sama but even then, he still treated Koyuki-sama bad. From what she told me, her father always wanted a son and that happened after Koyuki-sama married Sojun-sama and had Byakuya-sama." explained Tetsuko.
"Koyuki-sama was traumatized?" asked Kenji. Tetsuko nodded. Kosuke came back with a woman. She has short black curly hair and ocean blue eyes. She was wearing a black Shihakusho This was Kuchiki Kamina, Tetsuko's wife and Kosuke's elder sister.
"What's going on Tetsuko?" asked Kamina.
"Byakuya-sama is having the same problem as Koyuki-sama." said Tetsuko. Kamina's eyes widened.
"He's hallucinating. I've only had to do this twice in my whole life." said Kamina.
"Were they both for Koyuki-sama?" asked Kenji.
"One was for Koyuki-sama, the other was for Sojun-sama." said Kamina, making the three's eyes widened.
"Sojun-sama also had these?" asked Tetsuko.
"Yes. It was after Koyuki-sama's disappearance." said Kamina. She got her Zanpakuto out.

'This is Toshiro-sama when he was a toddler, before we had to move him away from here.' thought Kamina.
"Shut up! You're not my Ototo. He would never say things like that. Especially to people like Hisana!" Byakuya's voice was heard but his mouth wasn't moving. Toddler Toshiro giggled. Before he could speak, Kamina sliced the hallucination in half and the hallucination vanished.
Byakuya gasped as he was brought back into the real world.
"W-What happened?" asked Byakuya.
"I got rid of your hallucination of your Ototo. It was the only way, otherwise, you would've gone insane, Byakuya-sama." said Kamina. Byakuya nodded.
"I see. Thank you, Kamina." said Byakuya, sitting up. Kamina smiled and nodded.
"No problem, Byakuya-sama." said Kamina.
