Prologue
2020
A dark-haired woman in her early twenties checked the messages on her phone as people bustled around her.
Upon seeing a particular message her lips thinned as she swiftly exited out of the app and glanced down at her suitcase once more.
"If he wanted to apologize he should've done it when I was still at home," she muttered to herself, brown eyes narrowed in annoyance and anger.
Then she spotted her bus arriving and as soon as it stopped she put her suitcase in the storage compartment.
"Move gaijin," the gruff voice barely startled her even as she met the man's gaze, the sneer on his face telling her what he thought of her presence.
'Figures' she hadn't even done anything to the man and he was already dismissing her. She walked around him to enter the bus, her eyes meeting that of the bus driver, a pit forming in her stomach, even if she didn't know why.
Maybe she should get off?
"Seriously this woman," the man from before was now behind her and she quickly went to the back of the bus to take her seat as the rest of the passengers filed in.
She was just imagining things, nothing was going to go wrong on her first trip in Japan.
Nothing.
The doctor looked over the files, the x-rays and the Quirk factor measurements, the latter of which should not even exist yet.
"Fascinating," he muttered, taking care not to alert any of the others, he wasn't exactly allowed in this part of the hospital.
Honestly, he'd been part of this private hospital for the past ten years, one of its most trusted Quirk specialists, and they refused to release anything about this girl. According to the notes her own Quirk had adapted to Quirk suppressants and was possibly multifaceted. One of the nurses had overheard the young heroes talking about how she could share her vision with the others, a sort of game type quirk. A girl her age activating it despite having the joint, he'd been wanting to study someone like her for ages!
But that damned government had already arranged for her to visit a specialist outside of the hospital.
Well, should be no harm in arranging a pre-Quirk Placement Exam, some of the nurses answer to him after all.
Now he just had to make sure that retired hero did not interfere.
Mitsuki grumbled as the stupid government lackeys drove off, with her tonfas!
"Dammit, I'll get them back," she turned to her house, spotting her husband's car in the driveway and a grim look appeared on her features.
She was not looking forward to the upcoming confrontations, with either of them.
But dammit she was not going to let her son turn out like her brother, nor did she want Inko to step in to take care of things.
Fuck she still needed to pay her back for the laptop, shit.
