Casey is sitting on her bed surrounded by her math book, index cards, pens, pencils, highlighters, posts it's, book marks and her computer. The first thing that she does is read the chapters that are going to be on the test, then she highlights the words and key words that are going to be on the test as well. The next thing she does is take notes for each chapter. Then she makes flashcards with this information, the next thing that she does is create a study guide.
The next step, is that she start studying the flash cards over and over again until she gets each one right.
"I can't believe that there's a test in a week and it counts for 30% of our grade" Casey groans .So, I've been studying non-stop for .Adams is strict and wouldn't let students get away with the smallest things. I respect him for it because it helps keeps the students in line. I know I don't have to worry though, I'm always and I always get good grades."she thinks to herself.
Derek is in his room on a headset playing video games. Derek has been playing Darksiders Genesis on his play station 5 for weeks. Derek is online with Sam and Ralph but they hang up because they have to study. Derek rolls his eyes and takes off the headset.
Casey hears her cell phone ringing and she picks it up quickly "Hello." Casey says
"come play station with me" she hears Derek say over the phone
"no! I'm studying for the test and you should be studying too, its worth 30% of our grade." Casey says aggressively
"so, game"? Derek ask
"no"! Casey says aggressively before she hangs up.
"I figured out a perfect way to remember all of the math definitions." Casey thinks to herself
Casey phone rings again and she answers it becoming more and more frustrated with each call what do you want"?! Casey says
"come play with me, I'm bored" Derek says in a whining tone
"no! Tell Edwin"! Casey almost yells
"his busy"! Derek says still whining
"I'm busy! Busy studying for a math test that's 30% of our grade"! Casey says annoyed and frustrated at Derek's constant calls and him constantly begging her to play with him, she Hangs up phone.
"I learned PEMDAS in school early but.." Casey thinks to herself
Casey phone rings again and she rolls her eyes because she already knows who it is and she is beyond annoyed with his calls. Why was he so determined for Her to play with him and why couldn't it wait until later? So she picked up her phone again to find out. "what do you want"?!
"where are you"? Derek said confused, he couldn't believe that she hasn't gone to his room yet, 'didn't she say she was coming before"? He though to himself
"in my room"! Casey yelled. "Derek could be serious, did he really think that she said she was going to his room"? She thought to herself
"you said that you were going to Play the game." Derek said Derek knew that she hadn't really said that but he knew it was the only way to get her to come in his room.
"I did not"! She screams upset, why wasn't he getting it through his head that she was busy doing something really important and that the non-profit stop calls were annoying and that she wished that they would stop. She was already freaking out over the exam and the calls were making her freak out even more.
"so are you coming"? Derek asked. Derek knew how stressed out Casey was, he saw her spend sixteen hours a day in her room studying and She spent the rest of the day helping her mom with dinner, helping her sister with homework, eating and sleeping. She did the same thing for weeks, so everyday I tried to get her to relax and this is how I did it. Well, not exactly...everyday is something new so that she doesn't catch on.
"get it through your head, I'm not coming I'm studying"! Casey says frustrated
"ok but I'm player one." Derek says nonchalant
"something is seriously wrong with you!" Casey says angrily
Casey inhaled sharply as she rubs her fingers through her head, she is both frustrated and mid freak out.
"people don't know this about me and I try to hide it the best I can, but math has never been part of my skill set. I mean I do ok when it comes to math but its something I struggle with. Its a sensitive topic. This test is a huge part of our grade and" casey thinks to herself
The phone rings again and Casey scrambles for the phone annoyed "stop calling me"! Casey says
"Darksiders genesis time"! Derek yells
"no"! Casey says aggressively.
"come on"! Derek says trying to persuade her to come to his room.
"I get the good controller." Casey ask
"i get the good controller, you get the bad one." Derek says
"be right over" Casey says
They both Hangs up the walks in Derek's room with her math book, she is reading from the math book and Derek stares at Casey. "A dilation takes a line not passing through the center of the dilation to a parallel line, and leaves a line passing through the center unchanged."
"come on, lets play" Derek demands
"no! I told you no Darksiders Genesis until I have learned"- casey says loudly
Derek throws a frisbee at her stomach without warning"ow! With which hand did you think I was gonna catch that"?! Casey says angrily
"come case, lets just pass this one level together. You can lead." Derek says in an attempt to convince Casey
"What part of this math test counts for 30% of our grade, don't you understand?! I know you might not care about your grades, but I have to get an A"! Casey says angrily
"I do care about my grades, sort of. Not really. Come lets play Darksiders Genesis"! Derek says
"fine! Anything to shut you up".she throws down her book on the bed and walk towards Derek to grab the remote and then sits down on the bed. Casey sayss
"lets do this" Derek says happily.
Casey smiles and sways back and fourth
"finally! A worthy partner to tear down these bad guys and rip through the levels like its our job. We shall leave no stone unturned and our enemies begging for mercy!" Derek says playfully
"I have been training for this exact moment! No one is safe when were in control, the bad guys won't know what hit them until its too late!" Casey says happily.
"our opponents will run away trembling with fear but we won't let them! We will crush their spirits and then crush their heads!" Derek says
starts the game and they start smashing buttons "oh shit! You crushed that guy just like that!" Derek says
"I told you that I was training." Casey says confidently
"well, it looks like the training has done some good." Derek says
"I've always been good...even better then you." Casey says
"please, you wish you were better then me." Derek says
"I completely owned you in mortal kombat." Casey says
"I had no idea that you were that good in mortal kombat." Derek says
"is Derek venturi admitting that I owned him in Mortal Combat." Casey says surprised
"no! I'm just saying that your good, that's all." Derek says
"better then you" casey says
"your better then Edwin"! Derek says
"whatever" she rolls her eyes. The remote controller dies and casey looks around the room for the PlayStation charger but she doesn't see one "Where's your charger?" Casey says
"ummm... I don't really have a charger anymore." Derek says
"what?!" Casey responds
"you cannot move forward on an empty tank of gas. Come on lets play!" Derek says.
"I cannot play without a remote controller!" Derek says
Derek: "oh! I think one just came in the mail, I'm gonna go downstairs and get it. Ill be back in a sec".
"we cannot be late for this "- Casey tries to say but he cuts her off.
"were not,here"! He throws book at her "study while I'm gone! " Derek says
"we won't have enough time"- Casey says but is cut off
Derek exits his room.
Casey rolls her eyes and puts her head down in defeat. She opens the book and starts studying. "The equation of the plane which is parallel to the x y xy xy -plane is...z = c!

(Downstairs)
Derek runs downstairs to get the package that has a remote in it. He grabs the package on the table that has his name on it and heads to the the kitchen he sees Edwin on a laptop on the kitchen table surrounded by notebooks , A pencil, eraser and textbook.
Derek hearts a loud pop coming from a laptop in the kitchen. "what's that"? Derek says.
"Wyonna Earp! I've been watching it non-stop and other tv shows. I just finished Fangbone"! Edwin says
Derek looks closely at the computer "wait, is that my computer!...and you passed where I was watching"?! Derek says
Edwin laughs
"you little"! Derek says angrily
Edwin is about to run but the phone rings and Derek picks .
"hello. oh hey Allison. Well, why should you have to wonder about something like that any longer, sounds like a great idea, oh really? Well, I think I can manage that...and that too. I can do all that and more...oh really? Well, I just have to see for myself. Well, don't say something if you can't back it up. Really? What flavor?" Derek says and laughs at something that Allison says over the phone.
A huge gun shot comes from the computer
Derek covers the phone "can you lower that please, I'm on the phone. Derek says to his younger brother.
Edwin sits there and continues watching.
"What did I just say!" he says to Edwin "of course I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to my annoying little brother watching" -
"I'll meet you by your locker in 15mins" he says and then hangs up the phone and then turns to Edwin. "You already know the rules when a hot girls call me, you shut up and you give me my privacy! It doesn't help when you have the computer on full volume while I'm on the phone, the least you could do was lowered it until I finished. You could have pause it or gone to get ear phones." Derek says
"I was here first! Why should I have to accommodate you?!" Edwin says
he gives Edwin a stern look "I'm gonna kill you!" Derek says
"relax! I was just kidding bro" Edwin says
"uh huh! Your lucky I have to go but our dead when I come back." Derek says
Derek grabs the keys and Leaves
"so much for stand my ground, thanks a lot Lizzie." Edwin says
Edwin continues watching tv.
Casey rushes downstairs
"wh- where Derek ?" she says panicked. Casey says
"how much trading do you think that they went through, in order to do this" Edwin clicks the computer. Edwin says
flinched at the stunt "where's Derek! Our math exam starts in less then half an hour!" Casey says
"he left." Edwin says
"he left? He didn't leave"? Casey says
Goes outside to look outside, she looks around and doesn't see the prince.
Casey chuckles nervously "is this some sort of prank that you two have cooked up to freak me out, because it worked! Now would be a great time to come out so we can go to school! Where is he really? Did he park the car around the corner"?! Casey says
"no, he left"! Edwin says
"he left"! Casey begins to freak out. Casey says
Edwin: "I know I said that, twice"!
"how could he just take the car and leave me stranded here?! ( she says panicking.) Of yeah, I forgot who I was talking about! I thought he changed but I was wrong! I never should have counted on him for anything, that's my stupid mistake! Hey! When does your carpool come to pick you up?! Can you drop me off at school"? Casey says
"sorry sis bad news " Edwin says
"what"? Casey says
"I'm not going to school today, my school is going on a field trip to see how tv shows and movies are made. Its supposed to be the same company that makes Wyonna earp"! Edwin says
she inhaled and exhales trying to breathe."its ok, its going to be ok I have twenty minutes before school starts, maybe I can call Emily. She calls Emily but her phone goes to voicemail. "Damn it"! Casey says then she smacks a meat grinder on the kitchen counter top
"Oh come on! No! No! No! This is not happening! Not today"! She exhales to try to calm down."OK twenty-three minutes, twenty-five three minutes, school two and a half miles away, if I run at an average speed of 7 1/2 miles per hour" she says as she calculates the numbers in her head." maybe I can" casey says
"just go"! Edwin says
"right! Gotta go! Feet don't fail me now"! Casey says
Casey runs out the door.
Mr. Adams ( the math teacher is standing by his desk holding test papers as he watches the clock. He stares at it for a while. When the clock finally reaches eight o clock he says.
"OK class! Put tour books away"! Mr. Adam says
Derek is making out with Allison in class
"Put your materials away Derek, stop making out in my class. Allison! Your exam is about to begin" Mr. Adam says
Casey walks over to the door and locks it
"you will have exactly twenty-four minutes to complete your exam." Mr. Adams says
runs to the door, she looks a mess, her her is messy, her clothes are sweaty and she's out of breathe. She wiggled the door knob and then when she realizes its locked, she knocks on the door."Can you let me in please? Ahe says banging on the door. "please! Please let me in! I'm sorry I'm late, I will never be late again I promise!" Casey cries
Derek stares at this as Mr. Adams opens the door.
"MS. McDonald, you know the rules." Mr. Adams says
"please before you you say anything, let me just explain." Casey cries.
"I understand! That your let to my class and if your late to my class, you don't get to be in my class." Mr. Adams says
"but- but the test hasn't started yet" she cries I-I can't leave what about the exam!" Casey says
"you can male it up next week for, you will get one grade marked down for being late." Mr. Adams says
" I can't get a B! I have never gotten anything bit an A in my life ( she cries) "You"! she points to Derek "this is all your fault! "How could you leave me stranded at home!" Casey says
" I told you over and over again how important this exam was but you didn't care because all you care about is yourself! I thought that we were getting along along better now! I thought I could trust you." Casey says
she leans into him with a finger waging in his face "clearly I was wrong! Its my fault thinking that I could trust you, let alone count on you for anything!" Casey says
"whoa, case relax."Derek says
"relax! You have ruined my life" she tries to charge him but the students hold her back." I'm never talking to you again! I hate you!" Casey says
"enough! You have caused enough disturbance, now leave!" Mr. Adams says
"but" casey says
"now"! Mr. Adams says
"but I-" Casey starts to say but she is cut off
"now"! he points towards the door. Mr. Adam says cutting her off
"ok! I'll leave". Casey says. she leaves the room.
"now, if you would just allow me ." Casey says
He closes the door blinds
"I just need a minute to explain please, please hear me out!" Casey cries
The teacher faces the class
"as I was saying, you will have 55 mins to complete you exam. No talking, no looking under your desk or inside your backpack, if you need an extra pencil get it now but if not...we can start the test." says
Casey goes to the girls bathroom, storms into one on the stalls and starts breaking down crying. The tears start to flood down her face as she sees the life she will never have flash before her eyes because of Derek.
Derek is always doing stupid things like this, doing stupid pranks, lying to her making fun of her...this time, his actions cost her something way more valuable... To her.
And he didn't even care that he dis it, he acted like it was no big deal and it didn't matter...that his actions didn't cause her pain.
This was it, this was the moment that She knew that she was done with Derek. This wasn't like other times, where they would fight or where he would so or say something mean because they were getting along now...or so she thought but none of that mattered anymore because she was done.
Its not like other time she would say that she wasn't going to talk to him anymore and she did. She meant what she was saying this time, she was tired of all the times that he would mess with her, use her and act so selfish and she wasn't going to put up with it anymore. I mean he went two weeks without messing with her and then he does this! She thought to herself.
Casey got out of the bathroom washes her hands and face and then uses a she paper towel to dry her hands and face. Casey hears a flush come from one of the stalls. She turns around to see that it's Emily, she turns back around and stares at her through the mirror.
"what's wrong"? Emily says concerned
"Derek left me stranded at home, So I had to run to school and when I got here, not only was I a sweaty mess but" she exhaled sharply "the teacher said I have to text the test next week! And I have to lose one letter grade for being late"! Casey says
"I can't believe Derek did that." Emily's says surprised
"why not?! I can!" Casey says
"I thought you guys were getting along, " Emily says
"well it didn't last long!" Casey says
"I'm sure you can talk to him." Emily says
"Mr. Adams is strict, once his mind is made up...there's no changing it." Casey says.
"trying won't hurt." Emily says
"I did try and it did hurt." Casey says
"I'm sorry case." Emily says
"its not your fault Ems" casey says
Emily hugs Casey and she cries
Back home
Casey is on the couch drinking juice and studying her math book. Edwin walks in with a huge smile on his face , he sits the bag his holding on the couch and plops down on it."You enjoyed your field trip?" Casey says
"yes! At first it was nothing but after! After we got to meet the people from Whom a Earp! They gave us all autographs." Emily says
"that's really cool." Casey says
"and guess what? they even let me take a prop!" Edwin says
Casey just shakes her head, Edwin puts the prop back inside the bag and runs upstairs.
Next through the door is Lizzie, she rushes through the door with excitement on her face and runs up to casey.
"how was school?" Casey says
"it was great! We went to Gardens for the environment, we cleaned this field and helped plant flowers. Afterwards we joined with Edison's group." Lizzie says
"it sounds like you had a really great day." Casey says
"I did. It sounds like you had a really bad one." Lizzie says
"I don't wanna talk about it!" Casey says
Derek enters the house "hey case, what are you doing! "Derek says
Casey doesn't respond
'look I didn't mean to leave you behind, its just Allison finally called me back, and you know how long I've been waiting for her to call me back." Dark says
Casey still doesn't respond as continues to read her math book.
"the silent treatment" he groans "this again!" "I guess that means your really mad at me." Derek says, Casey gets up and walks away
Derek grabs her hand "I didn't intentionally leave you behind, so can you stop being so mad." Derek says
"I'm not mad, I'm just done!" Casey says
Casey walks away and storms upstairs to her room
"what did you do?" Lizzie says
"I forgot to drive her to school." Derek says
"what!? How could you forget!? Casey had a big test today worth 30% of her grease! I mean you both did!' Lizzie says
"something came up." Derek says
"wow, you really did it this time." Lizzie says
"relax, she will get over it! How many times has she been done and not talking to me" Derek says.
"this time felt different." Lizzie says
"if that's the way she's going to act, I don't care! Derek says. Derek goes up to his room, in his room he can hear her crying through the vents and he starts to feel bad. Not only was she mad at him but she also said she was "done" with him but she was crying...because of him.
