Author's Note: Welcome back, my dear Wastelings! Here we are at season ten. Last time, Ami and Lavi's son was born. Bookman called up Heaven to have the child murdered. The Escape Crew also got back together as well. This season, I decided to try something a little bit different. I am going by through the alphabet of words associated with misery and suffering. Over the years, I have been finding it hard to write for the Fallen City series. This key just came spilling out of me as I wrote it. This should be fun. Let's see how this season will turn. What will next week hold? For now, enjoy this week's key!

Key Zero: Aceldama:
Aceldama: noun: A place of bloodshed.
This fallout started because of a little baby. Ami's son was born on October twenty-ninth at 18:29. The labor took hours. Ami thought that she was going to die. The doctors wheeled her away to the operating room. The heiress had her hand out for Lavi, but Bookman dragged him away.
"Lavi! Lavi!" Ami cried as they took her away. The doors closed behind her. The girl looked around and panicked.
"Lavi! Where is Lavi?" she cried. Ami screamed in pain.
"Her blood pressure is dropping!" the doctor said. "Get her in the OR now!" They rushed gurney away as fast as they could. Sweat formed on her body.
The baby was born via C-section. At first, he didn't cry. The baby didn't seem to be breathing either. The nurses looked worried. Was this a stillbirth? They rushed the child to another OR to save his life. Hours later, the baby began to cry. Relief whispered over the nurses and doctors.
But Ami wasn't all there. Her eyes looked so empty, and she didn't respond to the doctors trying to get her to hold her baby.
"Are you okay, miss?" one of the doctors asked. "Miss? Miss?" No response. They checked for a pulse. Good, still there. She's still breathing. The body was still working. But her mind…
"What should we do?" one of the nurses asked. The doctor stared at the girl laid up in her bed.
"Run a cat scan," he said. "And then keep her for observation."
"Yes sir," the nurse said. "What about the baby?" The doctor had a grim look on his face.
"Her grandmother said that she would handle it," he said.
And that was it.
Outside, the war had already started.
Komui stood at the ready. By now, all of Heaven knew about the nephilim baby. This child could not live to push the world into further darkness. Bookman was the one to sound the alarm.
Komui wanted this death to be quick. They've already lost enough angels as it was. This war saw to that. There was still a long list of missing soldiers from the Great Crash alone. One child wasn't going to take out any more.
"Are we all set?" he asked. An angel beside him took off their goggles.
"Found them!" they said.
"Let's go!" Komui said. The small band of angels vanished into thin air.
However, there are forces who want this child to live. Stacy watched the hospital from across the street.
"Okay Lavi, what will you do now?" she asked. Her phone rang by her side.
"Yeah?" she asked. "Yeah, the baby was born. It's a boy. Let the war begin." Stacy took a listen.
"Okay, thank you," she said. She hung up and watched the hospital across the street. The demon took a sip of her bubble tea.
Thunder crackled in the sky. Bookman took a drag of his cigarette.
"It will start soon," he said. Lavi had an uneasy look on his face. The older angel frowned.
"You cannot get attached to that child," he said. "This is for your own benefit." Lavi isn't too convinced of this anymore. His son was just a baby.
"He is not your son!" Bookman shouted.
"Yes, he is!" Lavi shouted. "He is my son, and I will love him!"
"You will stop this talk right now!" the older angel snapped. "You have taken this far enough!"
"And what if I do?" his student challenge. Bookman was about to sky when thunder ripped through the sky. The angels looked up to see fire unrolling in the sky. The sound of hooves ran through the air.
"It has begun," Bookman said.
They came on horseback. Of course, they did. They were angels after all. Komui led the way. A pink-haired angel had on her goggles and looking into the building.
"Anything yet?" Komui said. She zoned in with her lenses. The angel pointed forward.
"There," she said. "On the fifth floor!"
"Alright, let's go!" Komui said.
"Wait!" the angel said. He raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?" he asked.
"We've got company," she said. She pointed down to the ground.
Bookman turned his head.
"We aren't alone," he said.
"Huh?" Lavi asked. He heard heavy boots stomping on the ground behind him. The angel turned to see pale men in black coats. He frowned as he got a good look at the leader.
"Really?" he asked. "You guys are here to protect my son?"
"He is not your son!" Bookman yelled. The leader of the men in black coats nodded.
"Yes," he said. "We are here to protect the baby." Lavi felt himself tense up. Something inside of him told him not to trust these guys either. The angel clenched his fist by his side.
"What do you want with my son?" he asked. Bookman glared at his back. At this point, Lavi didn't care. Thoughts of his family took over his judgment. The leader turned to the other men in black. They whispered amongst each other. The leader's eyes trailed back to Lavi. The angel moved his hand to his hammer charm around his neck. Bookman has his charms in his hands. The leader stepped forward.
"Your son will be our champion against the Golden Warrior," he said. Lavi took a step back.
"But he's just a baby," he said. The angel shook his head.
"No…" he said.
Thunder ripped through the sky. Everyone looked up. Bookman whipped out his charm.
"They're here!" he said. Everyone prepared to fight.
The angels came on horseback. Komui didn't want this. He hoped for an in-and-out job. Kill the baby and then get out. Now, things got a little more complicated. Komui rubbed his forehead.
"Something wrong?" Bak asked. Komui shook his head.
"No," he lied. "It's just…" His words trailed off as he pointed to the men on the ground. Bak frowned as he saw the problem.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" he shouted. Komui shook his head.
"Who even told them?" he asked. The other angel looked at him. Bak shrugged off his own question.
"Now what?" he asked.
"We've got no choice," Komui said. He drew out his sword.
"Charge!" he shouted. The angels sailed forward to the hospital. This wasn't how he wanted it to go down. Too late to turn back now.
Meanwhile, the men on the ground sharpened their claws. The leader jumped up to the sky. He let out a loud hiss as he did so. The men followed behind. Bookman waved his charm and vanished into thin air. Lavi was just left standing there. He didn't believe his child had to die anymore.
But what could he do?
The battle began in the sky. It wasn't supposed to go like this. There was only one creature who was supposed to die. One angel crashed into the side of the building. Lavi watched as the body slid to the ground. The other angel had a giant gash in their throat. Blood spilled down their uniform. They weren't going to die, of course. The only way to truly kill an angel was to eat them. The smell of blood began to tease Lavi's nose. He swallowed back his drool. Maybe one little taste wouldn't hurt…
Lavi smacked himself in the cheeks. No! He had to focus on his family. He needed a way to get to Ami and the baby. Maybe Kwan had the right idea to give the child away to a loving family for now. He just needed to get Ami and the child.
He closed his eyes tried to sense the baby. This should be easy since he was a nephilim. If he could find the child, the rest should be easy, right? He just needed to focus. All of the crashing around in the air made it that much harder to concentrate. Lavi shut his eyes tighter. Come on! Where was that child?
"Psst! Psst! Hey! Hey!"
A hand pushed him forward. Lavi nearly stumbled over.
"Hey!" he snapped. His annoyance turned into a stoic flatness.
"Oh, it's you," he said. Stacy stood behind him, grinning. Lavi frowned and folded his arms across his chest.
"What do you want?" he asked.
"I'm here to help you, of course," she said. The angel gave her an odd look.
"Because I care about you," the demon said. "Plus, I don't want to see that kid die or become a tool. And I just want to see what happens next with you and the child." Lavi still frowned.
"Look, do you want my help to find your son or not?" Stacy asked. "I can help you find the kid and the girl faster." The angel threw up his hands.
"Fine," he muttered. Stacy held out her hand.
"Take my hand," she said. Lavi grabbed her hand. The pair vanished in a flash.
To the normal eye, it looked like an electric storm taking place in the sky. Angels and the pale men clashed over the hospital. Komui kept cutting them down to reach the building.
"You will not pass!" three of the pale men yelled. They opened their mouths and hissed aloud. Komui decapitated them with one swoop. Their bodies dropped to the ground. Komui sighed and shook his head.
"Such a waste," he muttered to himself. The angel pushed himself to keep going. He didn't have time for this. Those wouldn't be the last in his path.
Meanwhile, Bookman happened to look down at the ground. He saw Stacy and Lavi vanish into thin air. He feared this would happen. But he didn't get time to chase them down. Eight pale men surrounded him. The older man sighed and swung his arm around. He sliced them right in half. Their bodies fell to the ground. Bookman saw another bleeding angel fall to the ground. All of this over a baby.
But it had to be done.
On the ground to the normal people, nothing was going on. To everyone going and coming to the hospital, it was just another day. They didn't even see the bodies on the ground. Some even stepped over them. Yep, this was just another day for the normal humans.
Lavi and Stacy made it up to the eighth floor of the hospital.
