This is my first fanfiction, and I'm very new to writing, so all criticism will be appreciated. Although it would be nice not to get flames, they'll probably provide valuable feedback on what to change and how to improve, so those are fine too. If you notice any grammatical errors or typos, please let me know as fast as possible, so I can fix them!

Japan sighed softly as he knocked on the door to his boss's office. He had been called 30 minutes prior, in which his boss mysteriously told him to meet up with him. When he had attempted to learn more details, his boss had simply told him that all will be explained in person. The nation couldn't help but feel uneasy, as the circumstances were worrying and enigmatic. What would be so important to require him to be summoned like this?

He heard the muffled voice of his boss signaling him to enter. Nervously, Japan opened the door, mentally preparing himself for the worst. He bowed politely to his boss in greeting, and his boss mirrored his actions. The brunette noticed offhandedly that a stranger also stood in the room with them, keeping to himself silently in the corner.

"Good evening, Japan. Please take a seat, we have much to discuss." His boss gestured to the chair in front of the desk placed within the room. Japan sat down, unsure and mildly distressed to what this meeting would entail. It had been years since he had been last called so abruptly, and even then, the situation wasn't nearly as cryptid as now.

"I've called you here to give you a new task. As we both are aware, the rise of quirks these past years has caused a split between those with and without these special powers. I would like you to attend U.A. Highschool undercover as a 'quirkless' student, in order to help the public become less discriminatory to your quirkless citizens. Of course, you will be using your human name."

"...Eh!?" Whatever he had been expecting, it was not this. He had to attend a hero school? But why him?

"I… I understand sir, but what of my duties as a nation?" Kiku nervously asked. In truth, he did not feel qualified to take on this job. How exactly would he go about doing such a task? Japan's boss smiled, and his speaking took on a friendly tone.

"I believe it's time for you to take a break from your duties. You've been working diligently for so long without stop. I talked with the headmaster of U.A. and he believes this is a good idea as well."

"But sir —who would take my place at the world meetings?"

"I already have that taken care of. Tokyo shall attend for you, as he is your main prefecture."

"Ah…" Kiku was speechless. His boss had prepared all of this for him, and although it technically wasn't a break, the prospect of taking some time off was honestly quite appealing. When quirks had first appeared, tensions had risen high between the nations and caused his life to become hectic. As time went on, the high strain on relations had lowered, but all the pressure had caused Japan to become very stressed.

"Do you have any more questions?"

"No, sir."

"I see. Well then, I have invited a man who can de-age your appearance to make you fit in with the students of U.A. High. This is Suzuki Eido, and he shall be assisting you today."

The man, who had remained quiet during the meeting gave a small wave at Japan. He had short red hair and looked to be in his mid-thirties.

"Hello, Suzuki-san. Thank you for your help." Japan stood up and bowed at his citizen, who bowed back.

"I'm glad to make your acquaintance, Japan-sama. My quirk, Fountain of Youth, can de-age the appearance of anyone who shakes my hand for at least 5 seconds." Suzuki outstretched his arm towards Japan, who took his hand and tentatively started to shake it. After a short amount of time, Japan's vision became fuzzy. His body felt uncomfortable, and his skin felt like it was too tight for his flesh and bones. His clothes suddenly felt like they were growing, but not too much so. Taking a moment to recollect his composure, he noticed that he was a bit shorter than normal. Although he could not see himself, he was mostly sure that he resembled a normal 15-year-old boy. He looked at his hands, then faced his boss.

"Sir, what am I supposed to do now?" Japan asked, still uncomfortable after the change in his body structure.

"Go home, and get used to your new height. Tomorrow, you'll be introduced into one of the classes in the heroics section of U.A. High as a transfer student. You will be permitted the use of your katana on the battlefield and the use of a bamboo sword during class training. You are now excused."

Japan bowed one last time as a farewell to his boss and Suzuki, then promptly left the office, still mildly confused but anticipating what U.A. High would be like.
