Jake, Hayley and Felix were hunting a monster in the woods.
"What kind of monster are we looking for?" Asked Jake.
"We are looking for the Mala-Mala Felis," explained Felix.
"Why is the monster named after you Felix?" Asked Jake.
"No not Felix, it's Felis, with an S," explained Felix
"Oh, yeah that makes more sense," said Jake.
"Guys focus, the Mala-Mala Felis is close," said Hayley.
"How do you know that?" Asked Jake.
"Maybe because of the huge white footprints and the cracks that go with it," said Hayley, as she pointed to the ground
"What is that white stuff?" Asked Jake.
"Salt," Felix said, as he analyzed the white footprints.
Suddenly the Troop heard a roar coming from the north.
"The sound comes from that direction," said Jake.
"Be prepared guys," said Hayley.
"The Troop approached the sound and then saw a gigantic black feline monster with thirteen eyes, which resembled broken mirrors.
"That's one big kitty," said Jake.
"Get it Jake," said Hayley.
Jake aimed his Pulse Ray on the monster and shoot it, but missed.
"You missed," said Hayley.
"I don't see you trying," said Jake.
Hayley took a shoot with her Pulse Ray and also missed.
"You missed," said Jake.
"Like you did so well," said Hayley.
"Guys stop bickering and focus on the Mala-Mala Felis," said Felix.
"Sorry," said Jake.
Felix aimed the blaster at the Mala-Mala Felix and took a shot and he missed too.
"Oh no I missed," said Felix.
The Mala-Mala Felis lifted its tail and wiped leaves in the faces of Jake, Hayley and Felix and escaped.
"Oh no it's gone," said Hayley.
"Don't worry, we'll get that kitty," said Jake.
The Troop went back to headquarters and told Mr. Stockley about the failed capture attempt of the Mala-Mala Felis.
"You should be very worried," said Mr. Stockley.
"Why?" Asked Felix.
"Because if you don't destroy the Mala-Mala Felis in the next 72 hours, you're doomed with 10 years of bad luck," said Mr. Stockley
"Doomed?" Asked Jake.
"10 years?" Asked Hayley.
"Bad luck?" Asked Felix.
"Precisely," replied. Mr. Stockley
"What do you mean by that?" Asked Felix
"The Mala-Mala Felis is a monster that brings bad luck," said Mr. Stockley.
"Why didn't we find any information about this on Troop Grid?" Asked Hayley.
"Because when people read that, they don't want to hunt the Mala-Mala Felis anymore," replied Mr. Stockley
"Oh you would think," said Hayley in a sarcastic tone.
"And now what?" asked Felix.
"You have to find it or else," said Mr. Stockley
"Yes, we know what or else we're doomed with 10 years of bad luck," said Jake.
"I'm checking Troop Grid for suspicious activity," said Felix.
"Mr. Stockley is there anything else we can do about the bad luck?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes, I was prepared for this," said Mr. Stockley.
While Mr. Stockley ran off to get something, Felix was still looking for the Mala-Mala Felis on Troop Grid,
"You don't really believe in that 10 years of bad luck, do you?" Asked Jake
"I may be a little superstitious, but not that superstitious," said Hayley.
"But we were chasing a black cat, said Jake.
"And it had 13 eyes," said Hayley.
"And those eyes were like broken mirrors," said Hayley.
"Plus the salt and the cracks in the ground," said Jake.
And now I also read on Troop Grid that the Mala-Mala Felix likes to sleep under ladders," said Felix.
"Okay so all the things that bring bad luck. We need to find the Mala-Mala Felis and fast," said Hayley.
"Anyone else feel the need to start panicking?" Asked Jake.
Both Hayley and Felix raised their hands. Mr. Stockley returned with a box under his arm.
"What's in that box?" Asked Hayley.
"Lucky charms," said Mr. Stockley.
"Lucky charms?" Asked Felix.
"Yes, everything that can bring good luck is in this box," said Mr. Stockley.
Jake opened the box and saw several items. A necklace with a large gold number 7, a four leaf clover, a horseshoe and red fuzzy lucky dice.
"These are your Lucky charms?" Asked Jake.
"They bring good luck," said Mr. Stockley.
"How do you know?" Asked Felix.
"I don't know that for sure, that's just what the internet says," explained Mr. Stockley.
"Oh boy," said Hayley.
"If you guys excuse me, I've a date with lemon squares, said Mr. Stockley, as he left headquarters.
"We've to do something," said Jake.
"Jake all we can do is defeat the Mala-Mala Felis and Troop Grid can find him," said Hayley.
"There has to be something else we can do? I don't want to have ten years of bad luck," said Jake.
"Maybe we can talk to someone who's been through the same thing," suggested Felix.
"What are you talking about Felix?" Asked Hayley
"I found a document here about a Troop from 15 years ago who fought the Mala-Mala Felis," said Felix.
"And did they manage to defeat it?" Asked Jake.
"No," said Felix.
"What good is that old Troop then?" Asked Jake.
"Maybe we could talk to them, see if those 10 years of bad luck really are that bad," said Felix.
"We've got nothing better," said Jake.
"Where do they live?" Asked Hayley.
"I've an address here," said Felix.
"But where do the other two live?" Asked Hayley.
"Also at that address, the three of them live in an apartment here in Lakewood," said Felix.
"That's not far from school," said Jake.
"Tomorrow after school we go there," said Hayley.
The next day Jake, Hayley and Felix were at the apartment. Jake knocked on the door and a man in his mid-thirties opened the door. The man ash brown hair and extended goatee.
"What is it?" Asked the man with the goatee.
"We're from the Lakewood Troop, said Jake.
"The Troop?" Asked the man the goatee.
"Yeah, said Jake.
"Come in," said the man with goatee.
Jake, Hayley and Felix entered the apartment. In the apartment were a bald man and a women with short length blonde hair.
"Who were these kids?" Asked the woman.
"These kids are members of the Troop," said the man with the goatee.
"Sit down," said the bald man.
Jake, Hayley and Felix sat across from the old Troop members.
"Would you like something to drink?" Asked the woman.
"No thanks," said Jake.
"Let's introduce ourselves, I'm Hayley," said Hayley.
"Jake, said Jake.
"And I'm Felix," said Felix.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Henrietta," said the woman
"I'm Jonah," said the man with the goatee.
"And my name is Franklin," said the bald man.
"Nice to meet you," said Felix.
"Why are you here?" Asked Henrietta.
"That's not a funny reason," said Hayley.
"We want to talk to you about the Mala-Mala Felis," explained Felix.
"The Mala-Mala Felis?" Asked Jonah.
"Yes, we've come across it," said Jake
"And did you beat it?" Asked Jonah.
"No we haven't," said Jake.
"You know you have 72 hours from the moment you see it to beat it," said Franklin
"Yeah, we know that now," said Felix.
"But we wanted to ask if that 10 years bad luck is really going to happen?" Asked Hayley.
"Oh it's gonna happen and it's bad," said Jonah.
"How bad?" Asked Jake.
"Okay we were seniors when we came across the Mala-Mala Felis and we couldn't beat it and then we got unlucky for ten years," Henrietta.
"What happened?" Asked Felix.
"Ladies First," said Jonah.
"I had it all in high school, I was head cheerleader, I was student body president. And I was captain of the girls soccer team, gymnastics team and volleyball team, said Henrietta.
"She was the captain of every team in high school," said Jonah.
"That's not true, I wasn't captain of swim team and hockey team," said Henrietta.
"You did a lot in high school?" asked Hayley.
"She was an overachiever," said Franklin.
"I was not an overachiever. I just wanted to get good credit so I could go to Yale, said Henrietta.
"Yale?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes and I was accepted into Yale, but then I had 10 years of bad luck and my Yale dream was shattered," said Henrietta.
Jake and Felix looked stunned and turned their heads to Hayley who looked equally stunned.
"And what about you Jonah?" Asked Jake.
"My high school life was okay for someone who's a plumber's son. But then I came across the Mala-Mala Felis and it went down all downhill," said Jonah.
"How was your life?" Asked Jake.
"I made sculptures," said Jonah
"So you were an artist?" Asked Jake.
"Yes, but I also did other things," said Jonah.
"Like what?" Asked Jake.
"I loved reading comics and skateboarding and doing tricks on my BMX," said Jonah.
"Until he crashed his BMX so hard that he lost three toes," explained Franklin.
"Really?" Asked a nervous Jake.
"It was an ugly fall," said Jonah.
"And what about you Franklin?" Asked Felix.
"I was one of the brightest students there was in school and I was the inventor of the group," said Franklin.
"And what happened to you when you were cursed with 10 years of bad luck?" Asked Felix
"At the science fair my invention exploded and I lost all my hair, there was a fire in my room and destroyed all my action figures and then the sprinklers went off during an av club meeting and all the equipment caught fire and I was electrocuted . And none of the girl wanted to go out with me," said Franklin
"That last one had nothing to do with the bad luck curse, that happened before too," said Jonah.
"What did you do after school?" Asked Hayley
"Well Yale didn't want me anymore and no other colleges, even community college I couldn't get in," Henrietta.
"You couldn't even get in to community college?" Asked Hayley nervously.
"Yes, the only thing I have been able to achieve is that I became an assistant manager," said Henrietta
"Assistant manager of what?" Asked Hayley.
"Tico's Tacos Cantina," said Henrietta.
"The Fast food restaurant?" Asked Hayley
"Yes, that's the one," said Henrietta
"We all work there, said Jonah.
"I love Tico's Tacos Cantina tacos, especially your jalapeno beef taco," said Jake.
"Focus Jake," said Hayley.
"Sorry," said Jake.
"Thanks for sharing your story," said Felix.
"No problem, I hope that you guys beat the Mala-Mala Felis," said Jonah.
"We hope so too," said Jake.
Jake, Hayley and Felix left the apartment.
"All right, we need to find and destroy that Mala-Mala Felis ASAP," said Jake.
"Jake, I know it's important that we find monster, but we have to stay relaxed," said Felix.
"Don't tell me to relax, can't you see what our future looks like," said Jake
"You think our future will be like that? I mean I understand that you and that Jonah have a lot in common and Hayley and Henrietta. But I've nothing in common with that Franklin guy, said Felix
"Dude, you're just franklin," said Jake.
"No I'm not, right Hayley?" Asked Felix.
"You and Franklin are exactly the same," said Hayley.
"But I don't want to end up as Franklin. We must find the Mala-Mala Felis," said Felix.
"That's what I said," said Jake.
"Let's hope Troop Grid found something," said Hayley.
The next day, Jake, Haley and Felix were back at headquarter to check if Troop Grid had found anything, but unfortunately no trace of the Mala-Mala Felis.
"How long before we're doomed with 10 years of bad luck?" Asked Jake.
"15 hours, 29 minutes and 37 seconds," said Hayley.
"There must be something we can do," said Jake.
"What do you suggest?" Asked Hayley.
"Where can a big black cat hide?" Asked Jake.
"That is it," said Felix.
"What?" Asked Jake.
"The Mala-Mala Felis likes to sleep under ladders," explained Felix
"So we've to find a place where a gigantic ladders," said Hayley.
"Big Ron's Tools, my dad gets all his tools from there," said Jake.
"That's a store," said Felix
"But they also have a warehouse especially people who are repairmen by profession," explained Jake.
"Do you really think the Mala-Mala Felis could be there?" Asked Hayle.
"It's a stretch," said Jake
"We have nothing to lose," said Felix.
Jake, Hayley and Felix got some blasters and got on the Battle Cruisers and went to the warehouse.
"Look white footprints," said Jake.
"And they are fresh," said Felix.
"It's here," said Hayley.
Jake, Hayley and Felix went into the warehouse.
"We split up and if you see the Mala-Mala Felis let us know through the watchcom," said Hayley.
"Yes," said Jake.
"Good luck guys," said Felix.
The group split up and went in search of the Mala-Mala Felis. Jake found the Mala-Mala Felis at the ladder sector.
"Hayley, Felix I found the Mala-Mala Felis come to the ladder sector, that is sector 15," said Jake
"On my way," said Hayley.
"I'll be right with you Jake," said Felix.
Hayley and Felix arrived at the ladder sector and saw the Mala-Mala Felis sleeping.
"Okay what's the plan?" Asked Felix.
"We blast that big hairball," said Jake.
"Oh because that worked oh so well last time," said Hayley.
"Then you think of something," said Jake.
"It must have a weak spot," said Hayley.
"Let me check on my portable Troop Grid," said Felix. "Nothing, it says nothing about a weak spot"
"That could be because no one has beaten the Mala-Mala Felis yet," said Jake.
"What is a cat's weakness?" Asked Felix.
"This is no ordinary cat, this is a monster," said Hayley.
"But it's a cat like monster," said Felix.
"Chocolate, cats can't eat chocolate," said Jake.
"Then we need a very large chocolate bar," said Felix.
"Plus cats don't eat chocolate that fast, they're smart animals," said Hayley.
"Oh yeah? Then why are they startled every time a cucumber is near them," said Jake.
"I think we should be more concerned about the Mala-Mala Felis who has just woke up," said Felix.
"Run!" Shouted Jake.
Jake, Hayley, and Felix ran as fast as they could from the Mala-Mala Felis, trying to shoot at it at the same time. Hayley hits one of the boxes and it hit the back of the monster's head and it seemed to hurt,
"That is it. That's it's weak spot, the back of the head," said Hayley.
"We gotta hit it on the back of the head?" Asked Felix.
'Yes," said Hayley.
"Let's do it," said Jake.
Hayley climbed onto the shelving unit and fired at the back of the Mala-Mala Felis's head. The Mala-Mala Felis was about to attack Hayley, but Jake shot at the back of the monster's head and it was distracted. Hayley aimed and fired a powerful shot to the back of the Mala-Mala Felis' head. The Mala-Mala Felis exploded and Jake and Felix were covered in green goo. Hayley climbed down and walked over to Jake and Felix.
"Nice shot," said Jake.
"Thanks," said Hayley.
"We defeated the Mala-Mala Felis, now we won't get 10 years of bad luck," cheered Jake.
"I've a chance to go to Yale," cheered Hayley.
"And I got a shot that I get a girlfriend in high school or at least in college," cheered Felix.
Jake and Felix gave each other a high five and then cleared up and headed back to headquarters .
A few days later. Jake, Hayley and Felix had met Jonah, Henrietta and Franklin at a cafe.
"Thanks for meeting us," said Jake
"No problem and we want to say congratulations on beating the Mala-Mala Felis," said Jonah.
"Yeah and now you won't have 10 years of bad luck," said Henrietta.
"That's the best news," said Franklin.
"But you've been bad luck free for 5 years, why are you guys still living together?" Asked Hayley.
"You know the Troop was the best thing that ever happened in high school, but it's not something you can share with anyone except fellow Troop members," said Jonah.
"Yes, no one will understand what you've been through except for them," said Henrietta.
"It creates a bond," said
"I can understand that," said Jake.
"But nothing good has happened in all these years?" Asked Felix.
"Oh yes. I found the love of life and married her," said Jonah.
"Who is your wife?" Asked Hayley.
"She sitting next to me," said Jonah, while pointed to Henrietta.
"You two are married?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes," said Henrietta.
"I had no idea," said Hayley.
"No, I didn't see that coming," said Jake.
"Oh I totally saw it coming," said Franklin.
"Really?" Asked Jake.
"Yeah, they had a thing going for each other back in high school," said Franklin.
"Whoa okay that's not true," said Jonah
"We don't do a thing for each other in high school," said Henrietta.
"Oh please the two of you totally had a thing going for each other in high school," said Franklin.
"Why do you say that?" Asked Hayley.
"Because they always argued and never were on line, but that was just to hide their feelings from each other," said Franklin
"You're crazy Frankie," said Jonah.
"Yes," said Henrietta.
"It was very clear," said Franklin.
"Funny you two do the exact same thing, so maybe you two have something for each other," said Felix.
"Okay now you sound a crazy as Franklin," said Jake.
"No, we haven't got a thing for each other," said Hayley.
"Not at all" said Jake.
"That's what they said and now they are married to each other, teased Felix.
"Shut up Felix," said Jake.
Jake and Hayley looked over to Jonah and Henrietta and shook their heads with a smile on their face.
The end.
