7 o'clock has rolled around, and the group has succeeded in getting through ¼ of their study guide for the biology final tomorrow morning.
"I'm hungry", Troy whines; digging around in his backpack for a lost package of Gushers, or a loose sausage stick.
"I wanted to get home early and unplug all my electronics to reduce my carbon footprint" Britta begins.
The entire group sighs under their breath and looks at her exasperated.
"Yeah! I've been reading up on it! Even if you aren't using your TV or microwave, they are still creating "standby" electricity loss, and you can reduce your carbon footprint by 5% if you-"
"Shut up!" the group moans in unison.
"I was really hoping to finish season 16 of Inspector Spacetime tonight. I've heard that season 17 is when things get really interesting" Abed says, sticking his finger in the air pointedly.
"I have to bake 10 pies for Elijah's class bake sale tomorrow" Shirley pipes in, passive aggressive as ever. "But I guess if I'm stuck here all night and he comes to school empty handed, everyone will think he has a mother who doesn't care…"
"Britta, do you have any sausage sticks?" Troy interjects.
"WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP!" Annie suddenly shouts, and the group turns to her wide eyed.
Jeff furrows his brow concerned, noticing her cheeks flushing and her eyes welling up a bit before she blinks the tears away.
"What's the matter with you? Is that period fairy coming to town?" Pierce jokes.
Annie's heads whips in his direction.
"No, Pierce. She is not", she informs him; and then turns back to the rest of the group. "Frankly, I am just sick of all of you complaining all the time. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Shirley, if you need to go home and bake pies, then go home and bake pies. Troy, if you're hungry; go eat. Abed, if a TV show is more important than doing well on an exam, go home and watch it, nobody cares! And Britta, feel free to leave and…do whatever it was you were saying. I for one have a future that I am trying to ensure is bright and successful, so I would like to be able to study without everyone complaining like babies all the time. Is that okay with all of you?"
She finishes, looking around the room at everybody for a moment, before her words ring back to her in her ears, feeling instantly terrible for losing her cool on her friends, and she quickly reaches down to swipe her books off of the table, before running out of the study room.
