Authors notes:
This story was a crossover idea thats been crawling around in the back of my head now for sometime. I have been a fan of Sonic The Hedgehog for some years now since playing Sonic Heroes and some of the other games even the old classics, even had a few story ideas that I may pursue at a later date.
I had never really heard of the Swan Princess movies until one day when I was browsing on Youtube for animation research and I stumbled across a few clips which later lead me to the other films and 3D animated ones. I found a liking to them (sue me I'm a fan of classic fairy tales.)
The idea of this crossover came from watching a few of the Swan Princess movies, and from playing the Sonic Story telling series (Black knight & The Secret Rings) along with a little Sonic 06 and with later inspiration from the latest Swan Princess film A Royal Wedding i decided to get this down and written now.
I own none of the characters mentioned all rights go to their respective owners THIS IS JUST FOR FUN!

Chapter I
Once Upon a Chaos Control:
In a distant land far away there was only silence and above there was a blood red sky and below lay a solitary castle by a lake that was pitch black like the night. All was silent.
Suddenly a large ear splitting roar was heard from afar and large bolts of energy shot down from the sky, then from out of nowhere a blur of blue light shot over the lake trying to avoid these bolts of energy.
They were coming from a rather large looking creature that had the body of a lion, the feet of a bird and large bat like wings with glowing green flesh wings, red piercing eyes and a long tail.
The beast was pursuing a small blue hedgehog like creature that had peach arms, face and a circle on his chest with green eyes, wearing white gloves and red sneakers with a white strap and gold buckle across them. He ran from the creature leaving a trail of blue lighting behind him.
He ran to the land and avoided another blast that came from the creatures mouth, and just when it was ready to fire again something struck him in the side it was an arrow. The creature looked to see the one who fired it.
It was a young man with brown hair and blue eyes, wearing an indigo coloured vest with white long sleeves under dangling brown shoulder 's armed with a bow and arrow and prepares another arrow to fire at the beast which roars with anger as it approaches the Prince.
The Prince quickly ducks out of the way of the creatures attack and Sonic runs to his side and they stare down the creature ready to fight.
"Hi there." Sonic introduced. "Now I know what your thinking why is that devilishly handsome blue hedgehog and a Prince armed with a bow and arrow fighting an overgrown rat with wings?"
"Well to be honest I am too, so let me take you back to when this all started."
Several days earlier:
(Music starts: Green hill zone classic mix)
The suns shining on a new fine day in the hills of the Green Hill zone on a distant world known as Mobius. Running through the many hills and loop de loops of this beautiful landscape a blur of blue light flashed by.
"Now for those of you who don't know me, the names Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic explained. "I'm a little ball of super energy in an extremely handsome package, I'm pretty sure you know the rest."
Sonic runs through the hills and then boosts forward increasing speed towards a draw bridge which he runs across.
"I've saved aliens in an interstellar amusement park, put the world back together after it was broken apart, met genies in magic books, and overall saved a bunch of people from robots."
Sonic then performs a spin ball through a tunnel then un curls and runs off the edge of a cliff in the shape of a ramp then landed on the other he sees a couple of Motor Bug mechs racing beside him. However he just smirks, rolls into a spin ball and performs a homing attack on the two robots uncurling again then runs forwards.
(Music ends)
Meanwhile:
In the dark corners of Mobius, a large ominous tower stands within a highly defended stronghold and on the side of it bore the logo of the Eggman Empire on the side this was the lair of the villainous Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Inside the evil doctor looked over his newest creation with his robot sidekicks a small sphere looking robot in red and a cube looking robot in yellow. The device was a large circular looking device with metal rings around it the centre was surging with energy. He was ready to apply the final touch to his creation he held a large green emerald in his left hand. Inside a compartment were six other emeralds in different colours, red, blue, cyan, violet, yellow and white.
"Ha ha perfect!" Eggman chuckled.
"Your never going to get away with this Eggman!" Called a voice and he turned to see a pink female Hedgehog wearing a red dress with red and white boots, had green eyes and wore white gloves and gold ring bracelets on her wrists. She was trapped inside a containment device surrounded by a blue force field.
"Oh on the contrary my dear Amy Rose I shall get away with this." Eggman smirked. "Now that I have the seven Chaos Emeralds I intend to use my new doomsday device to conquer the world!"
"Your thinking big boss." Orbot.
"Yeah, even bigger than the other plots you've planned." Cubot agreed.
"Oh come it didn't happen the last hundred times and it won't happen now!" Amy cracked.
Eggman just growled at that insult. "Grr we'll see about that I'll…"
Suddenly he was interrupted by an explosion in the far wall and the smoke cleared to reveal Sonic the Hedgehog and beside him was a small yellow fox with two tails and wore white gloves, red and white sneakers with blue eyes. This was Sonic's trusted friend and ally Tails.
"Knock knock is the doctor in?" Sonic smirked.
"Sonic!" Amy and Eggman exclaimed.
"Forget it Hedgehog! Your not stopping me this time!" Eggman placed the seventh emerald into the machine and it hums into life.
"Hehahahahahahahah!" Eggman laughed evilly. "In less than a minute the world will be mine! In the meantime its high time I was rid of you once and for all!"
Eggman jumped into his Egg-mobile which then lowered itself into a rather large looking robot it was his Egg-dragoon. The Egg-mobile locked into the robot and readied its weapons.
"Tails get Amy out I'll take it from here!" Sonic said to his two tailed friend.
"Right Sonic!" Tails said as he used his tails like a helicopter to fly over to Amy's containment unit. The Egg-Dragoon lifted its cannon arm and fired multiple missiles towards the Blue Hedgehog who jumped from the platform he was standing on and ran along the ground avoiding the missile fire then jumped into the air and performed a homing attack on its cannon arm knocking it back.
"Why you little!" Eggman growled as he moved the Dragoons drill arm to squash Sonic but thanks to his speed he was able to avoid it and then ran along the walls with Eggman still firing missiles at his target. Meanwhile Tails was hacking Amy's containment unit to set her free.
"Almost almost." Tails said typing on the console hacking the cell then with one click it released the containment unit.
"About time Tails!" Amy said. Suddenly a laser blast nearly hit them but they moved out of the way just in time.
"HEY WATCH IT!" Amy exclaimed.
The Egg-Dragoon fired its drill hand missile at Sonic who looks to see it coming towards him, then it was like the world was moving in slow-motion. Sonic jumped and landed on the drill missile, and ran on it then jumped and with the cockpit of Eggman's robot venerable Sonic rolled into a spin ball and performed a homing attack on the Dragoons head knocking Eggman back and he accidentally leaned on a button on his console. The cannon on the robots right arm fired a blast which hit the doomsday device in the generator. Energy began to surge from the machine and one bolt struck the Dragoon right in the chest rendering it powerless and sent it crashing to the and Cubot saw this from their vantage point on a nearby platform.
"Well thats not good." Orbot lands on a nearby platform and sees the energy surging from the machine.
"Sonic!" Tails cried as he and Amy joined the blue hedgehog.
They suddenly heard a groan coming from the wreck of the Egg-Dragoon and it was Eggman all but defeated.
"You fool don't you know what you've done!?" He exclaimed.
"Uh… saved the day?" Sonic shrugged smiling. Tails pulled out a small tablet sized computer his own invention the miles electric and used it to scan the energy readings coming from the machine, and what he saw it wasn't good.
"Uh oh, guys" Tails said in horror. "What is it Tails?" Sonic asked.
"The energy from the Chaos Emeralds is becoming unstable, if it keeps going it'll cause a massive explosion that could take out everything within a hundred miles." Tails.
"In other words Tails?" Amy asked. "It means the crater will be half the size of mushroom hills!" Tails said.
The ground began to tear itself apart as the energy around the machine was building up and bolts of energy streamed out of it hitting the ceiling and destroying the roof of the lair everything was going haywire!
"So how can we stop it?!" Sonic exclaimed.
"Theres only one way, we need to try and burn off the energy." Tails explained. "Sonic you need to run around it the energy you generate should burn off the emeralds energy."
"But what if it doesn't work we don't know what it's gonna do?" Amy exclaimed just then a piece of rubble fell from the ceiling and it would have crushed them if Sonic hadn't moved them out of the way before it did. Despite the risk, Sonic knew it couldn't be any worse than what's going to happen if he doesn't take the risk. Without any hesitation Sonic ran towards the machine.
"SONIC!" Amy exclaimed.
The blue blur began running round in a huge circle around the machine and as he ran he left a trail of blue lighting behind him. The energy from the machine was trying to hit Sonic but he avoided it and the kinetic energy he began generating was reacting with the energy given off by the was monitoring the energy flow from his Miles Electric and he could see it was having an effect.
"Its working!" Tails exclaimed but Amy couldn't help but worry not just for herself and Tails but also Sonic.
Sonic continued to run and the energy was building as he ran and ran like he'd never ran before. All of a sudden he was starting to see something in the blur around him and he couldn't believe it, he saw what looked like a portal and inside he swore he could see what looked like a purple dragon with gold horns on it. That wasn't the only thing another portal was beside him and in this one he saw an orange fox looking creature fighting a mad scientist with yellow skin and a large 'N' on his head. Another one showed what looked like a native Hawaiian girl with a blue coloured shell necklace riding a boat with a large looking sail.
"Tails what's going on, something way past weird is happening here?" Sonic said.
Tails looked at his Miles Electric to see what was going on, and it displayed something worrying.
"Sonic your speed is reacting with the emeralds power causing some kind of temporal anomaly effect I think your seeing other dimensions!" Tails theorised.
Sonic was more than a little surprised but still ran, however he soon realised that he couldn't stop running. All of a sudden he noticed one portal was coming straight for him and weirdly it was in the shape of a swan showing its screamed as he was engulfed in a bright white light. The light then engulfed everything around the machine Eggman was all but blinded by that light and Orbot and Cubot could only look in awe by the blinding light of Chaos Control.
"AMY GET BACK!" Tails exclaimed as he pushed Amy out of the way before being engulfed by the light as well the whole base was soon engulfed by the blinding light only for it to fade.
Inside the base Amy began to stir from unconsciousness she looked around to find she was all alone in the base no sign of Eggman or Tails not even Sonic.
"Tails" Amy called. "Sonic." she looked around for any sign of her friends but there was nothing it was like they had simply vanished.
"SONIC!" Amy cried knowing something terrible has happened to him.
Elsewhere:
The day is beautiful and clear as the sun shone over the majestic kingdom of Swan Lake, not a cloud in the sky and a small group of swans flew the skies before flying down to the lake below. Just beyond stood a castle and just outside of it on the shore a prince and a princess were enjoying a picnic on this nice summers day.
The princess had long golden hair, with blue eyes, light skin and amethyst coloured eyes. She wears a white coloured dress with puffs on her shoulders with long puffed sleeves and blue lining.
"You know we never get enough time to do this." The Princess said.
"Don't we I hadn't noticed." Derek to which Odette giggled.
"But between our duties to the kingdom not to mention everything else in between I'm glad we have this time to ourselves Odette." He then added.
"So do I." Odette smiled.
A lot has happened for the Prince and Princess over the past few years since childhood their respective parents had them meet every summer in the hope they would fall in love and when married unite their lands, and it was working until some misspoken words and an evil sorcerer named Rothbart intervened intending to have Odette for himself and rule her fathers kingdom. She was cursed to be a swan by night and could only turn back by the light of a full moon. Rothbart seemed unbeatable but thanks to Prince Derek and his determination to make a vow of everlasting love and break the curse (even though the first one was to the wrong person) he defeated Rothbart and the two were happily married. Not long after that they encountered two of his apprentices Clavius and Zelda who wanted the Forbidden Arts the source of Rothbart's power for themselves and each time they were bested by Derek and Odette even near death.
Now, months have passed since defeating Zelda, and the two are now enjoying a peaceful time in their kingdom and couldn't be any happier.
"Though I have to admit things have been a little quiet around the kingdom lately." Derek noticed. "No evil wizards or dark magic no nothing."
"Well that sounds like a good thing doesn't it?" Odette asked.
"Yes but, I don't know, I guess I miss the challenge." Derek explained. "After everything we've been through I guess nothing could surprise me."
However. "O…WWWW!" Called a voice and the two looked over to see their animal friends a small green frog, turtle with brown coloured skin and green shell, and a black and white -bob was rubbing his head in pain as the Prince and Princess came over to them.
"Jean-Bob are you okay?" Odette asked.
"No I am not okay her I am trying to enjoy a nice relaxing day when all of a sudden pow! something hit me over ze head." Jean-Bob said rather irritated.
"I think an Apple hit you on the head." Speed said in a rather slow tone.
"Apple!" Jean-Bob eaxclaimed. "Speed no apple could do zis to my princely head!" He pointed to a rather large bump on his head.
Odette looked closely at her frog friends head and saw the size of the bump and he was right it didn't look like something an apple falling from a tree could do.
"Hm he's right it looks like he was hit by a rock." she said.
"Oh you mean this kind of rock?" Every one looked to see Lieutenant Puffin, holding what looked like a shining blue emerald in his wings.
"Puffin where'd you find that jewel?" Derek asked curiously.
"Well I found it when Jean-bob here cried out it was right where he was." Puffin answered.
"Zen that is ze thing that hit me on ze head?!" Jean-Bob said rather irked.
Puffin handed Derek the jewel and it seemed like a normal emerald however looking at it Odette felt something strange about the jewel the way it glowed in the sun it didn't seem natural.
"Hm it looks like a normal jewel, but how'd it get out here?" Odette wondered.
"Yeah its like it fell from the sky?" Speed wondered.
"I don't know but I'll have Rodgers lock it away and keep it safe." Derek said.
Everyone then proceeded back to the castle whilst Jean-bob was still rubbing his head from the hit it took. However questions were raised where did the jewel come from? Little did they know however that wasn't the only strange thing that would happen. A distance away faint screaming could be heard from the sky.
It was Sonic falling from the sky screaming he flapped his arms like a bird to no avail and soon he crashed into the canopy of the forest trees hitting branch after branch until eventually hitting the ground face first.
"Ow." he muffled. He tried to pull himself free from the ground but couldn't after his third try he eventually pulled himself free from the ground.
"Uhhh two points for style on that landing." Sonic moaned rubbing his head.
Sonic: Just to be clear that whole falling on my face thing wasn't very funny six games ago and it really isn't funny now!
Author: Hey its a classic now if I may continue the story!
The blue hedgehog looked around at his new surroundings and saw he was in a forest not Eggmans base. He also couldn't see any sign of his friends either.
"Tails? Amy?" Sonic called. "TAAAILSSS!" He then shouted. "AMMMYYY!"
However all he got was the silence of the forrest and only the lone creatures that live in its trees could only hear the calls of the Blue blur.
"Okay, I defiantly wasn't in a forest before." Sonic wondered and then ran off into the distance through the trees of the forest.
Eventually he reached a clearing and when he emerged from the trees he couldn't believe his eyes he saw a lake as blue as his spines and beyond it stood a castle with tall towers and a bridge/aqueduct that reached out from it. He looked to see a couple of swans floating on the lake and the suns rays reflecting on the waters surface.
"And I defiantly don't remember a castle being there." Sonic said in surprise. "Something tells me I ain't in Kansas anymore."

Author: Well a new tale begins, I would like to point out this story takes place some months after Swan Princess 3 and as for the Sonic timeline its sometime after Sonic Lost World.I hope you all enjoy the story as updates are soon to come. What do you think Sonic?
Sonic: Well HC I have a feeling this could be a way past cool story, normally I wouldn't be up for this sort of thing but dude I've always wanted to be in a musical!
