Once upon a time, in a far away dimension, a wicked demon lived in a chaotic triangle castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the demon was spoiled, selfish and unkind.

Then, one winter's night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose for shelter from the bitter cold in his castle. Repulsed by her aweful appearance, the demon growled at the rose offering and turned the old woman away, But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful demon enchantress.

The young demon tried to make a deal in order for forgiveness, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart. As punishment she placed a terrible spell on him, the castle, and all who lived there.

Ashamed of his terrible curse, the demon was concealed inside his castle with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until he could learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain with the terrible curse for all time.

As the years passed, he fell into despair with anger and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a demon?

"we'll be back as soon as we can" Ford assured them

"You won't even know we're gone" Stan smiled and ruffled his niece and nephews hair

"I'll miss you both" Mabel gave each of them a big hug. They were both more of a father figure to her than her father ever was. She barely even knew her real father, who had died in a fire.

"See you soon!" Her twin, Dipper replied excited to hear about his uncles adventures to the yearly paranormal fair.

"Alright kiddos we gotta go" stan and Ford smiled as they drove their carriage off into the forest, excited to see what would be at the fair this year.

Mabel stayed to wave until she could no longer see them, and the trees had hidden them. Dipper had decided to go out into the library to get some more mystery books, while Mabel made her way to buy some more yarn.

"Father! These ones" Gideon said pointing to a pair of flowers

"All right Gideon" his father payed and gave the pair of flowers to Gideon. They were a rosy-pink shade of tulips

"Any girl will love this" his father commented

"Exactly" Gideon chuckled "and I've had my eyes set on that one for a long time" he pointed to a young girl with curly brown hair who seemed to be approaching the yarn store. He walked forwards toward who would soon be his wife. Or t lest that's what he thought.

It wasn't that Mabel didn't love her home, she did. It just was that most of the towns people called her strange, most likely due to her sweaters.

Though nobody could disagree that she was quite beautiful, especially as she slowly became a young women now at the age of 18. Her brown hair was smooth and more defined, her cheekbones became less chubby and more narrow as she grew, she had a natural rosy shade on her cheeks. Not to mention her personality, Which no one in the town really cared about such things, suited her name perfectly. 'Lovely dear'

She was always kind and sweet, never letting anything bring her down. Though sadly due to her little weirdness, of happiness and colorful clothes, not many boys would consider her dateable before moving onto another girl. Mabel wasn't as bothered by this much. she always had her family and pet pig, Waddles.

"Well if it isn't my lil' sugar plum" a child-like voice rang behind her. She turned on her heels to see a pretty small boy, with chubby cheeks and white hair. His hair had been shaved since he went to war so it didn't look so terrible, he had also gained some muscles. He still had his southern accent though.

Mabel struggled not to roll her eyes "hi Gideon, please don't call me that"

"For you" he replied, not answering her request as he leaned forward to give her a bouquet of pink flowers.

"Oh um thanks" it ended up sounding more like a question than thanks.

"Oh Mabel there's been somethin' I've been needin' to ask ya" before she could respond he got on his knees holding out a box with a ring that looked huge. It was covered in jewels and was something Mabel was sure she would never wear.

"Will ya do me the honor of bein' my wife?" He asked

The crowd that had gathered 'awe'd' and Mabel found it hard to breathe. Trying to come up with reasons for how to say no politely and finding none.

"Your nice and all Gideon but I don't think I'm ready for marriage yet, I'm barely eighteen and I jus dont see you that way" she finished

"But think of what I can offer ya. I'm one of the richest in this town, I'm the best a girl like you will get! If you say no to me you might as well end up on the streets alone and a hag."

Gideon was getting angry, yet he did speak the truth. Not many boys wanted her and that was just how the world worked. But she couldn't justify being married to Gideon.

"I'm sorry but my answer is still the same" she replied finally, speaking softly. with that she gently set down the flowers and ran off back to her shack-like house.

She burst into the shack ready to see a familiar face. Dipper looked up from the book noticing his sisters shocked face. He set his book down and went over to greet her.

"What happened Mabel?"

"Gideon he..."

She didn't need to continue for Dipper to put together what had happened.

"Oh Mabel. Gideons a jerk and you deserve someone better"

"But dipper he's right. Not many men are looking at me as a possible option, I'm just the 'strange girl'"

Dipper had seen what happened to girls who never married here after their family died. They always ended up on the streets. Though streets would be better than Gideon.

"It's ok Mabel I'm sure you'll find the right guy someday, awkward sibling hug?"

Mabel smiled "awkward sibling hug" and with that they did their favorite thing from their childhood. Mabel already feeling a tiny bit better.
